About 80 frames of my project has become null, whats happened?

Hey Rick, I did what you said and found no such luck. However I managed to find that it is one specific text layer that is corrupting the section, if I hide the layer then everything works fine.

I had downloaded a trial a few months back, and used it just fine. Obviously, that trial expired.
A few days ago I received an email telling me that due to new updates, they (Adobe) was resetting my trial.
Last night I updated the app, and started a new project. However, today I am unable to open my project, and keep getting a notice from Adobe telling me that my 'trial has expired.'
What gives?? Anyone had this happen to them before and know a way around it?

I found out from the Video team at Adobe that the retrial was only valid for one day.
Unfortunately this wasn't communicated in the offer I was given.

You can undo your permission changes. Probably the most relevant one is cookies. Try one or both of these methods:
(1) Page Info > Permissions tab
While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Permissions
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Permissions
(2) about:permissions
In a new tab, type or paste '''about:permissions''' and press Enter. Allow a few moments for the list on the left to populate, as this information needs to be extracted from a database.
Then type or paste ''rcn''' in the search box above the list to filter it to the most relevant domains. When you highlight a domain, you can adjust its permissions in the right pane.

Long movie/large project has become unplayable

I am almost finished with an iMovie which is now about 40 minutes in length. I had created it on my PowerBookG4, and only had occasional hiccups while playing it back. As the file was so large, I copied it to an external FW drive which is dedicated to movies only and figured I would finish it there. However, I am now experiencing the glitches described herein by others: choppy video, choppy sound, the spinning beachball of death, and then the whole system grinds to a halt. I have tried opening it on the PowerBook running Tiger, G4 tower running Panther, G4 tower running Tiger, both from the firewire drive, and also by copying the project to the internal drive(s). I have thrown out preference files, repaired permissions, run CacheOutX, run software update (QT 7.02), to no avail. The movie has become unplayable; can't even play well enough to export to camera and then reimport into a new project. I have 5 months of work into this movie and am very distressed. Any ideas?

1. External drive is HFS+. Internal drive in the G4 tower it was copied to is also HFS+.
2. No clips over 9 minutes.
3. Plenty of space left on the drives I have copied the file to; 137 gig left on one, 60 gig on the other. The project is about 40 gig.
4. A shorter iMovie I am working on (10 mins) housed on the same drive plays and edits flawlessly.
5. I don't have QT pro but would consider paying for the key if an export and import into a new project would work. How would this be accomplished? I was also considering making multiple copies of the project, deleting all but 15 (different) minutes of the project from each, and if they play properly, export to tape and then reimport into one new project. Lots of work.
6. I also read that this may be a Spotlight issue, but I have removed the drive from Spotlight indexing, and that has not solved the problem.
In light of all this, I am also thinking corruption of a clip (s). How can I detect what clip(s) it might be? What would be the fix? I have searched through Pogue's iMovieHD Missing Manual and I can't find any answer to this specific type of problem.

Have networked external drive for backup. 3 Macs, 1 iMac, 2 MBPros. I'm using Airport Express net'd to Extreme(my router). Ethernet from Express to Seagate Central. Since Maverick Time machine has become unstable, what can I do?

Have 2 almost new Mac Book Pros & a 27" March '13 iMac. All are 10.9.4. Wireless backup for all had been functioning well until Maverick was installed in all three. Airport Extreme is my router, Express connected to Seagate Central 4TB ext drive wirelessly. Wireless sig levels are maxed out at all 3 systems & Time Machine is now unstable and Apple Care networking tech contact says my config is not supported. Will it be supported if I acquire the new Airport Extreme, replacing the older version? If not, what config will permit 3 systems running TM backups every hour to one backup drive?

Apple do not support Time Machine to the older Gen1-5 AE with a USB drive.
I am not even sure if they support Gen6 although they do now say it will work.
You would be better buying a Time Capsule than another AE.. it is much faster than using USB drives and Apple more likely to help you.. if help is possible on mavericks.
You will find a cheaper solution is to use Carbon Copy Cloner.. which can continue using your existing setup.. it costs $40 for a license to cover all the computers in your home.

I have tried both of these but niether seem to work. The last option is to try restoring my photo library from a backup, how do i do this?

How you restore you backup depends on how you did the backup? Are you using Time Machine? If so the instructions are here - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US -- if you use some other backup software then read the manual

My iMac has insomnia. What happened ?

Yesterday and today when I put the iMac on 'sleep' it would black out for a short time and then start up again on its own. Never has done this before and I am at a loss to understand it, much less figure out how to correct it. Has this come up before with anyone else ? and does someone have an explanation and hopefully an answer.

One simple thing you might want to check is to see if "Hot Corners" got selected somehow. It most likely is not the issue but is free to check it out first for something simple that you can do. It's in System Preferences>Expose.
Your best bet is to have a look in the iMac G5 Usage forum. Here are the search results for "sleep issue" in that forum that may prove helpful.
There are many known sleep issues with the rev A iMac G5's if I recall correctly. Power supply, overheating etc. Apple may have an Extended Repair Program still to cover these issues that you may want to look into if your iMac G5 fits into that group.

Last time I upgraded my lap top I had to open a new I tunes account and couldn't sync the music that was on my iPod with the pc and it has caused me issues ever since. How do you get around this as we have just bought another iPod and as I am upgrading my pc don't want to have the same issues in the future?

You cannot switch from using iPod nano with a Mac to using it with a Windows PC, without erasing all data on iPod nano.
