Is there any other way to use a graphics card?
Hi,
It already has video chip (card). As mentioned above, no way you can add an external video card to your machine. Actually there is one way which requires the following steps:
(a) Buy a new motherboard which supports external video card,
(b) Buy a new video card,
(c) Buy a new cooling system,
(d) You may need new power supply (charger)
And at the end of the day your machine may NOT work as you dream and the total cost would be more than the price of a new, better computer.
Hope this explains a bit more.
Regards.

I'm not aware of any, not to say that there aren't any issues.
it may have nothing to do with ntpd, there are a lot of things running.
ntpd just happen to make the log entry at the same time as the panic.
I would check to see if there are any updates available for you system.
if this is the first time that this has happened. it may be (pick one):
    cosmic rays
    sun spots
    the trilateral commission
if this happens more frequently and that traces look the same, then
there may be a real problem that needs to be looked into further.

  • Probook 4540s notebook - need help recovering machine

    Hello everyone,
on July 30th of this year, my Probook 4540s notebook was stolen from my home. Luckily the person who broke in was caught recently and I got back my notebook. He hacked the machine and got rid of my login so he could use/try to sell it. Is there any way to restore my login or possibly do the same to his to see if I might be able to salvage some of my files or see if they are still there at all? None of my login details seem to be there and everything I tried did not give me access back to the machine. I bought a new Probook 4540s because I like it so much, but now I want to salvage anything I can then sell the stolen machine to help the process of moving on from this whole experience. Can anybody help me figure this out? And if not, what do I need to do to just reset the machine so I know any of my data is gone and I can get rid of it? Thanks for reading.
    -Brian

  • Question about upgrading a graphics card of Satellite P200-13z

Can i upgrade the graphics card on my Satellite P200-13z? What are my various options and the corresponding prices?
I only have built in onboard intel 3D accelerator card.

    Hi
    Such questions were posted many times here in the Toshiba forum and there is only one answer;
Its not possible to upgrade the graphic card on any notebooks!!!!!
The GPU is mostly soldered and fixed on the motherboard and its impossible to remove it!!!
You ask for various options? Well I read about external graphic cards for notebooks but in my opinion this is not a real option and dont think the performance of such graphic card would be much better as your internal graphic card in the P200 notebook

  • Leave the extra graphics card in or out?

I just bought a new Mac Pro and added the 4870 card. I use a 2 display setup, so I was wondering whether I should leave the nvidia card installed, add my HD 3870, or leave just the 4870 card in? I want max performance, but I am concerned that adding an additional card will not add performance, only more communication tasks for the system.
Does anyone know what the pros and cons are?
    Many thanks.

I'm running the stock GT120 as well as the Quadro FX 4800. I also have an eSATA controller installed in one of the PCIe slots and have one free slot for future expansion. The Quadro card requires a double slot so I have it installed at the bottom.
FYI - I'm also running three displays. If you don't require three, you'd probably be better off with the single card.
As for driver issues, I have none as both are nVidia cards.

  • Questions about changing the graphic card

Greetings I need to change the graphic card that came with my computer Pavilion 500-308nrit's GeForce GTX 745 4Gb with GeForce GTX 960now i have couble questions the graghic card that i'm going to buy has a bigger cooling system so is't going to fit inside the case?the GTX 960 require a minimum power supply with 400W so is't gonna be a problem if i changed the power supply?. and is there is a specific power supply that will work better with my PC? and thank you

Hi, The specifications for 500-308nr indicate an external 180 watt power supply supply. Is that true?  If the specifications are correct then you will not be able to install an internal power supply.

  • Adding dedicated graphic card to my laptop

I have I5 core E5-571P-59QA laptop, and I have intel HD 4000 family integrated graphic cards. Is it possible to add dedicated graphic card to my laptop? Intel HD 4000 is decent enough but I want to play more graphically intense games .

to my knowledge the answer would be "no" to an upgrade to graphics as the laptop is not designed for that, it uses integrated Intel HD-4400 graphics which are decent for basic gaming.

  • Looking to upgrade graphics card in HP Envy 15 notebook

I use my laptop for gaming mostly and all games are good except i get fps lag when i play certain games. I beleive that it is because I dont have a good graphincs card. Is it possible to change the graphics card on the HP Envy 15 Notebook? If so, what graphics cards are compatible with this laptop?

HP currently doesn't have a True Gaming Laptop and for those you can expect to spend above 1500US to get the gaming requirements needs to play demanding games. That is why you get lags when you play certain games once you go above the specs of the Envy 15 it will not be able to handle such games.

Unfortunately, the GPU is not upgradeable in these units.  You would have to upgrade the entire motherboard package, which would be costly and cause potential reliability issues in the future.  Your best option would be to upgrade to a newer notebook with the GPU and specs you require.

  • Is it possible to add an extra Graphics card: ATI X300 SE PCI express

I have a PowerMac G5 with ATI Radeon 9600 XT(AGP) installed. Recently my friend gave me a ATI X300 SE PCI express card and I am wondering whether I can add this card in the G5 and hook up another monitor to it.
The ATI and Apple websites didn't mention this card is supported, so should I just give up this idea? Thanks.

Another reason you can't use the ATI X300 -- it has Windows PC ROM code. You can only use cards in the Power Mac with OS X compatible firmware.
As of this date, the fastest AGP card you can buy to replace your old one is the Mac Edition of the Radeon X800 XT. It runs $399 from various sources (ATI online store, Apple online store, MacSales.com, SmallDog.com, and Buy.com).

Unfortunately this is not possible because the GPU chip is fixed and soldered on the motherboard.

  • Which graphics card for Photoshop CS4

I will be adding a graphics card to my Vista 64 machine which currently has integrated graphics. I normally don't care about 3D performance, so I was looking at the Radeon HD 4550. Please let me know what I should look for in a card if my primary objective is to (1) enable movie playing (HD and blu ray) and (2) speed up Photoshop. The machine has one x16 PCI slot and two x1 slots (it's a Dell Studio).
    Current specs are:
    Intel Q9400 quad core
8GB RAM (this is the max for the motherboard)
    750GB SATA drive

    Hi Curt,
Thank you so much for your reply, the info/advice you have given me is really helpful!!! I think its important that I also keep in mind what I might need to use it for in a couple of years time, which could be video editing and of course who knows what demands newer versions of PS, LR etc will put on the PC. I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and go for the PC that is pushing the absoulte limit of my budget (and a bit extra!) as then I have something with a spec I am not going to out grow for a reasonable period of time - so long as the computer does not give up on me first! The one I am looking at has 256GB mSATA SSD + 2TB SATA hard drive. It also has 16 GB ram.
Thanks again, really apprecaite your help!

  • Upgrading my MPB.. Please help me decide with the graphics card

    Hi Guys
I have got a late 2007 model MBP Santa Rosa 2.2 Ghz 2 Gb RAM and 128 Mb NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT video card
I am planning to upgrade my MBP. I just want to know that how is the performance of NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics processor 256 Mb compared to my dedicated one. I do normal photo and video editing and DONT play any games at all.. I sometimes feel that my this MBP is a bit laggy when I use photoshop or something.
If the integrated one that is standard on MBP's is quite good to what I generally do (which I have mentioned above), then I wont look into getting the one with dedicated Graphics as I need to save money.
I have tried looking on the internet but I cant find anyone who can give direct comparison between these two in MBP
    Please suggest!!!
    Thanks heaps!

    Hey Singh,
If you're looking for completely anecdotal evidence, I can help with that. I recently purchased the 2.8 GHz 17" MacBook Pro with the dual 9400M (256MB shared/9600GT (512MB dedicated) graphics cards. I user Photoshop and iPhoto a lot, a little iMovie and some Final Cut Pro. I also do quite a bit of video encoding, DVD rips and conversions to iPhone format. I prefer my PS3 for gaming and never do so on the Mac.
What I have noticed is that I can really tell the difference in graphics performance when encoding video and not much any other time. A slight exception is with hardcore Photoshop filters. For those two things I'm glad I can switch to the dedicated 512 card especially when time is a concern. It's also really nice to be able to choose between horsepower and battery life if necessary.
All that being said, if I was getting a 15" MBP I would forgo the extra graphics card and spend the money on more RAM which seems to make a bigger difference in what I do. The 17" did not have an option like that so I have the dual card and a lot of screen real estate. That reminds me, I use the additional 24" LED Cinema display and do not notice any difference when running the extra monitor.
My girlfriend owns the 13" MacBook Pro with the 256MB integrated graphics and iMovie and Photoshop run very nicely and are vastly improved in comparison to her old white MacBook. I have owned the 2007 model MBP Santa Rosa 2.2 Ghz and the new 13" 2.2 6GHz MBP is noticeably quicker in all respects.
In conclusion I would say that the dedicated graphics card is a must for anything in Final Cut Studio (Motion, FCP, DVD Studio Pro) or anything 3D, but for typical Photoshop use, iMovie, etc. you'd be better off with more RAM if you had to choose. If you don't have to pick between the two, get the 512MB card with 8GB of RAM and sleep tight knowing that if your Mac is too slow there's nothing you can do about it hardware wise and you're just too quick

  • Which graphics card for a G5 Dual 2.7

Hi. I've got a Dual G5 2.7GHz and I'm thinking about upgrading the graphics card. Problem is, I'm not sure which cards will work and how much improvement they will give me. I currently use two 20" cinema displays so the new card will need 2 DVI out ports, or some way of connecting 2 DVI monitors. Currently my G5 has an NVIDIA 9650 card in it which came with the machine. I mainly need extra graphical grunt for games and sims. Can anyone give me some advice as to an upgrade path please ?
    Thanks.

The ATI Radeon X800 XT - Mac Edition is probably your best bang for the buck. It has one DVI and one ADC connector so you'll need the ADC to DVI adapter to drive two DVI monitors.
You can find it at the Apple store.
