What kind of noise?
The only things I can think of that make noise are fans and disks. Fans usually will not cause the computer to shutdown as you describe. My guess is your disk drive died. I hope you made a backup prior to start the ungrade.

Buying in the Mac App Store for the enterprise

We're looking to buy an app in the Mac App Store (iBarcoder) for our graphic designers using Macs, and after read this article on Macworld.com, we're not too sure how to go about it.
Does that mean I could buy one copy of an app and install it on every Mac in my business?
No, the license you agree to when you enter the Mac App Store says that app downloads are for Macs that you personally own, and that's a license for personal use. Apps that are intended for professional use are licensed for you or for a single computer used by several people. While there's no technical impediment to you installing them on multiple Macs at work, you'll be violating the license agreement. It's the same scenario as if you buy a single-user copy of iWork and install it on ten Macs at work—you can do it, but you're violating the license agreement, making the act ethically questionable.
We know about the volume licensing that Apple offers, but it seems as though it's only for education and not for the enterprise. Surely creating a new Apple ID for every Mac isn't the best way to do this, right?

Why do I have an update on the Mac App Store for an Angry Birds app when I have not downloaded the app?

I have a strange issue where the Mac App Store always shows an update available for an Angry Birds app I have never downloaded on my Mac. Everytime I click on it for update, it gives a strange Username for which the update is available.
This is the username that comes up when I hit "Update"... I noticed this problem exists on my friends iMac too and it is the exact same email ID that shows on the screenshot above.
Please help.

You need to go to MAS and purchase Lion for $29.95; the download will take considerable time because it is a very large download. I'd suggest that when the download is finished and before you install it to copy the installer to a safe place (external hard drive or another folder) so you have a copy if you need to reinstall.

My download speed in the Mac App store is horribly slow going at 600kb/s when my internet speed is 60Mb/s fibre optic broadband, why? Every other application has expected (fast) download speeds, so i doubt its my ISP or security settings.

As above, I have also tried clearing caches and changing settings in keychain. I can normally download a 5GB file in roughly 30 in any other application howver, in the App store it takes 4 hours. Very frustrating, any suggestions are very welcome.

Note: using enthernet or Wifi makes no difference in speed.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.

About The Mac App Store? is it doing well in Business, like do a lot of people go on it & buy & download Free Apps? cause I Worry what if it will be like if we had no Mac App Store like we used to? then I Would never be able to really find anything good if Apple did not come up with Something Papular to find Games Apps & other apps, I Go on Mac App Store & i look at Reviews but it is not up to today's date, very few of them have up to today's dat Reviews & Some don't even have any Reviews & some only have 1 Review in there that is up to date, it looks like Apple Mac App Store is Dead? or there just not Accepting Reviews?, so is The Mac App Store doing well? or is it ready to go out of Business? Can't buy/download anything from the Mac App Store

Anyone has the problem of not being able to buy anything from the Mac App Store. It is extremely annoying. It does not show any error messages. When I click on the "Buy App" icon it does't go anywhere. its so annoying and disappointing. Tried it from two computers, mac pro and macbook pro.

Disable anti virus software and try turning off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy.

I have iTunes credit over 10 $ but still i can't buy an App from the mac App store although it show that i have credit and im sure i do, i tried exiting the Mac App Store and try again but still when i click on buy it opens a new window with billing info after i type my Account details, i don't use credit card and have always redeemed iTunes Gift Cards , but now it doesn't let me buy it!
Any help on how to buy an App without the store taking me to billing info to add , would be appreciated

The App Store in iTunes is for iOS (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) and the Mac App Store for OS X.

I don't know how to reinstall the Mac App Store after I deleted it on my Mac!

HELP! I deleted the Mac App Store because it hasn't been working for a few days now, every time I tried to download an app it said "Connection Failed" my internet is working and connected properly, I type in all the correct info for my apple ID/Password, it wouldn't let me download any apps and this has gone on for a few days already, so I decided to delete the Mac App Store and reinstall it, but I can't reinstall it, I have to download the whole latest version again, which I can't because you download it thru the Mac app store! By the way i have the latest version for mac, i think heres my version: Mac OS X version 10.9.4, now i don't know what to do..... I'm i gonna have to take this to the apple store and ask? If so what will they say? Or does anyone have a solution? Please leave a response has this happened to anyone else?

OS X Mavericks: Reinstall OS X Heres the link if anyone else had the same problem!! This is if you deleted not only the Mac App Store, but iTunes, Calendar, whatever came with the Mac (Apps that came already installed on the Mac), if you deleted one of those then you have to reinstall the Mac OS, Note: This one is for Mac OS X (Maverick) my version is 10.9.4, go to that link and follow the instructions if you have Mac OS X (Maverick). Other help: Common Mistake: If you delete the app from the dock then just go to finder and applications folder and drag the app back onto the dock(it was just deleted from the dock NOT your system/computer). I am using Leopard but need Mountain Lion for the Mac App Store. How do I get Snow Leopard to be able to upgrade to Mountain Lion?

I am currently using Leopard but need Snow Leopard to be able to get Mountain Lion. I can see this is no longer available from Apple. How would I get it so I could then get Mountain Lion. I want the Logic 9 Mac App Store App as I don't want to have to buy the whole Logc 9 from Studio 8.

You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.

I can't access the mac app store even though I have 10.6.8!

I have a MacBook 1.83GHz and I have just downloaded 10.6.8 and I have the mac app store in my dock but it has a line through it and says I need 10.7 to open it. Before downloading 10.6.8 I still had it in my dock but it said i needed 10.6.8 to open it.... I am really confused why I need 10.7 to open it as i thought you needed 10.6.8! How can i get the mac app store working!!???

You don't have the Snow Leopard version. Perhaps you didn't install Snow Leopard since you cannot download it. You must purchase it:
