About Anapod and Transferring Stuff to your iPod

I have read a lot about Anapod. Anapod is suppost to be a great program and will "optimize your iPod experience".I read something about a drag and drop feature and maybe that itw as used for transferring. I was wondering, since a lot of people are having trouble moving movies to their iPods, if you could install Anapod and use the drag and drop feature instead of waiting for the long transfer speed iPod has. This is probably a stupid idea on my part but I'm really curious and this may fix a few problems.
Please inform me if this would work or not. Don't be too harsh because, yes, I'm ******** in this field.
P.S.- Here's the link to Anapod. http://www.redchairsoftware.com/anapod/

it might be worth checking in at the Anapod Explorer forums over at ilounge to see if anyone there has any feel for that:

How do you get your tunes and voice recordings from your iPod Touch into iTunes on a new computer if you don't have Mobile Me?
iTunes on tmy new computer shows none of my data and I fear if I sync my iPod with the computer all will be deleted on the iPod.
I still have everything in iTunes on the old computer.

Just move your iTunes library to you new computer.  You can transfer iTunes purchases to you new computer from your iPod by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848Make sure you also move the backup.  You an find where the the backup is located here:
iPhone and iPod touch: About backups
You can move other items by:
    Best iPod to PC
After you move you stuff to the new computer, restore the iPod from backup.

I second the whole iTunes folder approach.
If for some reason you have split the media folder from the library files then the media folder needs to restored to the same path it used to have while the library files can be copied into the music folder of your new profile.
If in dobut, backup up the entire Documents and Settings folder before wiping the infected drive, but be selective about what you restore as many viruses drop active components capable of reinfecting the compuer in the temp folders and internet caches. It is much easier to backup more than you need than to discover after the fact that you no longer have access to some vital project you'd been storing in a folder on the desktop.

  • TS2446 If i create a new apple id account on my ipod, will i still have all my music, apps, books and other stuff on my ipod that i downloaded and bought with my old account or will i loose everything; will i be able to still do the updates to those apps?

If I create a new apple id account on my ipod, will I still have all my music, apps, books and other stuff on my ipod that I downloaded and bought with my old account or will I loose everything; will I be able to still do the updates to those apps?
    I really need help!

I don't think you understood what I wrote. You don't HAVE to pay for everything if you are happy with using the other account for updates, etc. But if you don't want to do that then you will have to buy new copies of everything for the new account. There's only one purchase item per account, but you can redownload an item in the account many times.
    The idea is this:
One computer, multiple devices, one Apple ID.
One user, multiple devices, one Apple ID.
The basic idea is that each user has an Apple ID under which he/she can manage multiple devices on a single computer.
Once you step outside of that model you create such problems as not being able to use or update apps purchase under one Apple ID when using a different Apple ID. Or not being able to easily sync one device on more than one computer.

Icloud or itunes backup, only backs up app data, not the app itself.
so if you restore as new, then there is no app data on your phone, you start out new...

  • Is there a way to keep all your stuff on your ipod after transferring to a new computer and being able to get new stuff on it while the old stuff is still on the ipod???

Okay so I had my itunes on my moms computer and now her computer is broken and I need to buy stuff on itunes (And I want to see my wish list again). How can I transfer all my old stuff over to this new computer with out changing anything or having anything deleted but at the same time being able to put new stuff on from the computer???

    Try this way:
Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.
    Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0
Saving data to a computer before setting it up again is also explained here: How to back up your data and set up as a new device

  • Deleting Songs From iTunes Library...and Keeping Them On Your iPod

Will this process allow me to delete songs from my iTunes library, but keep them on my iPod?
    1. When iPod is plugged in, check "Only Sync Checked Items" in iTunes
    2. Delete items from iTunes library.
    3. Add new items to iTunes library.
    4. Sync iPod.
It should keep the songs I deleted from iTunes on my iPod, right?
If you need me to be any clearer, please ask.
EDIT: If this will not work, is there another way to do this? The songs I have are taking up a lot of room on my computer.

Any auto sync method you use will delete the songs from the iPod if you delete them from iTunes.
You can delete songs from your iTunes/computer hard drive after transferring them to the iPod, and for this you need to set your iPod to manage the songs manually.
However, this is an extremely risky option because when (and not if) there comes a time to restore your iPod, which is a very common fix for iPod problems, then all the music would be erased. If you no longer have the music in iTunes (or any other back up), then all that music would be lost.

  • Transferring music from your iPod to your iTunes programme

Is there anyway you can put the music you have on your iPod back onto your iTunes. I recently had to get my hard-drive replaced in my iMac and i was told i could put my music back on my library by pulling my iPod in but it's only asking me to transfer the stuff i purchased on iTunes. I don;t want to sync it until i definitely know it will get all the music off my iPod into the iTunes library.
    Thanks

  • Can you hook up your iPod Touch 4th generation with an HDMI cable to your HDTV and play videos from your iPod to the TV?

I'm trying to find out if I can hook up my iPod touch 4th gen. iOS 5.0.1 to my HDTV with an HDMI cable and have it mirror what I do on the iPod Touch like mirroring videos for example. I need to find out and if so, how?

You can only output content to your TV if the App you are using supports the TV Out functionality. Mirroring is not supported on the iPod Touch.
If you still want to output content from your iPod to your TV, make sure you have the right cables as described here.

  • Transfering music from your ipod shuffle to your computer

    I AM STUCK!!
My grandpa is so eager to make me get this done, so i would like a response sometime today.
How do you transfer music from your ipod to your computer?
I gave my grandpa an ipod shuffle for his birthday and we got all the songs that are now on his ipod are from my itunes account.
    WE BOTH HAVE DIFFERENT MUSIC!!
all i am trying to do is change the format of my music to mp3 so he will be able to play his music in his car.
i have went into prefrences, import settings, blaa blaa. Then when i right clicked on my music thats in "on this ipod" it only had 3 options.
is there either an easy way to change the format without syncing music onto my computer or how do you sync the music from your ipod to your computer?

When you purchase music, you do not purchase the right to distribute that music to others.
    This is illegal.

  • How to put stuff on your ipod

Yeah, I'm an idiot. Can't figure out how to take a video file from my desktop to the library for transfer. There is no manual with this thing???

There is a manual, it's on the CD that came with your iPod.
But, Apple didn't really cover any information for converting videos for use on the iPod.
That's why there's the helpful little search box in the upper-right corner of this forum.
What you're going to be looking for is called Videora iPod Convertor. They have a step-by-step guide here:
    http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/guides.html
Since you already have the video on your computer and aren't starting from a DVD, you're going to want to start from Step 7. Be sure to follow the link to download the software.

  • What does the Download and Update do to your iPod?

I've always been worried if it was going to change my iPod any.
    If this matters:
I have bought all my music through Apple. %100 Apple.

The download download the firmware update file to yur computer.  The Update actually updates the firmware on the iPod. Yu can download the update for later installation.
Music is not included in the backup that iTunes makes during each sync and at the begining of a firmware update.  Therefore, you nned to ensure that the music is in your iTunes library before the update.  If you are in the USA you can redownoad music (and apps an dsome other stuff too) via iCloud beta:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
When iCloud goes out of beta you should be able to do that i other countries too.

  • Few basic questions about sharing and other stuff..

    Hi there!
First of all I know where are "101" pages, but they are not giving detail information.
1.I know there are some folders where I can put files, web-sites and other in order to enable sharing.
What do I have to do to enable other users (from internet to)
    - view my webpage when they enter my IP address in browser
    - to access files which I want them to be able to acces (with user and password required)? I know there is sth like sharing, and windows sharing, but I give access to my all user folder, do I have to create new accounts on my mac?
    2. It's kind of small problem, but can I run apps in finder using only keyboard (enter causes rename action)
    3. Why doesn't safari keep addresses I used in addres field after few days?
The most important question is 1.
    Will be gratefull for help.
    Thanks
    Adam Mscisz

    1. Start Personal Web Sharing from the Sharing pane of System Preferences; if you have a router between your computer and the Internet, ports 80 and 443 need to be forwarded to your computer. You can set this up from the router's configuration page, which is accessible by finding the router address in the Network pane of System Preferences and putting it into a web browser. See this article for instructions on how to password protect your shared files.
    2. You can use the Command and O keyboard shortcut to open the selected item in the Finder.
    3. The default setting in Safari is to keep the history for 7 days. You can use the method posted by ptejad in this article to extend the time Safari remembers the history for. The method at the top of the linked page won't work in Tiger.
