About AVG in ALV List
Dear Friends,
I know that we can use do_sum in the fieldcatalog to make AVG calculation, e.g do_sum = 'C'
but the function will automatically divide the total with the total line, what if I want to divide using static number, like 2?
Please advice.
Thank you,
Sam
hi sammyindra ,
Check the demo program ERGP2127 (One-Line List with Total and Subtotal).
It has logic for subtotals. You can use this logic for Averages.
ls_fieldcat-do_sum = 'X'.
ls_fieldcat-h_ftype = 'avg'.
note: fieldcat should be of lvc type to achive the above
1. Field Catalogue.
use alvfc-do_sum = 'C'.
C = average
X = Sum
2. In the mean time,
using screen we can do like this :
3. Show the alv list on screen first :
4. EDIT ---> Calculate ---> Mean Value

ALV List only 80 Columns when runinning as background job
Hello Guys,
I have a Problem with an ALV List.
We use the FM REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY for a Document Journal.
When I run it in foreground it works fine. But when I view the spool in background the list makes a break at excactly 80 signs, but the line size should be about 120.
In the report the Line-Size is set correctly, even the print parameters seem to be ok. We are running it with X_65_255.
I saw that there are some SAP Notes to this topic, but on our release (SAP_BASIS 700) the notes are already implemented.
Has anyone a solution to this topic?
Thanks and regards

Scrolling-problem in an editable ALV-list
Hi,
I have built an <b>ALV-list</b> with one of the fields <b>open for input</b>. The user wants to use the arrow to scroll <u>down</u> through the table and update that particular field in every row. I have <b>2</b> questions about this:
- First of all, the cursor moves in a strange way. The first number of rows it stays in the right column, but then, out of the blue, it jumps back and forth to other columns after scrolling.
- Secondly, the field I want to edit is always in Insert-mode. Is there any way I can get it into Overwrite-mode? I cannot use the Tab-key, because of the lead-selection.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Kind regards,
Andre MoniharaponHi Vijay,
please don't get me wrong, I really appreciate your attempts to help me, but my problem is that when I press the Down-arrow it <u>doesn't</u> always go to the next cell in the <i>same</i> column. It sometimes goes to the next cell in <i>another</i> column. And if I can't force it to stay in the same column in some way, than my problem cannot be solved and I must think of another solution. So, I don't want the cursor to stay in the same field, I want it to go to the next cell in the same column. You got that right. Again, I really appreciate your help, but it looks more and more that there's no solution to my problem.
Kind regards,

Hello experts,
I'm working on an object where in I need to display an ALV List (using Funct Modules) with checkboxes.
When I select the checkboxes, and click on a button (Eg.Refresh Button) , I need to get all the details of the selected rows (checked rows) in a seperate ALV List (in a Dailog).
Could any one of u please suggest me about selecting the row which has been checked(Checkboxes in ALV ).

Changeable records on column in ALV LIST
Hi,
i want to change my records on alv list. I mean records look like parameters in alv list. But i dont know the code about this . I think i need to find code in slis_t_fieldcat_alv but i cant find it. If you can fix my problem i will be pleased.
Regards.Hi You need to use STYLE attribute of layout & EDIT attribute of Fieldcatalog to do this.
Please refer the code snippet below :-
wa_fieldcat-fieldname = 'NETPR'.
wa_fieldcat-scrtext_m = 'Net Price'.
wa_fieldcat-edit = 'X'. "sets whole column to be editable
wa_fieldcat-col_pos = 7.
wa_fieldcat-outputlen = 15.
wa_fieldcat-datatype = 'CURR'.
APPEND wa_fieldcat TO it_fieldcat.
CLEAR wa_fieldcat.
Please search in SCN before you post such questions, you will get a lot of code snippets demonstarting the same.

Hi All
I want to display the output as a ALV List by calling method SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY of CL_GUI_ALV_GRID.
I see there is a protected attribute M_BATCH_MODE. How can I set this attribute to be true.
Or is there any other option through which I can get ALV List Output
Please note that I do not want the grid display
Thanks in advance
SriramHi All
Appreciate your replies
Let me say more as to what I am doing. Please have a look into DEMO_ABAP_OBJECTS_SPLIT_SCREEN. Where in, there are splitter containers CONTAINER_LEFT and CONTAINER_RIGHT (instances of CL_GUI_SPLITTER_CONTAINER). The ALV I am talking about in this thread is displayed in CONTAINER_RIGHT
Rob, are you sugesting not to use CL_GUI_SPLITTER_CONTAINER and use CL_GUI_DOCKING_CONTAINER or create a docking container object inside CONTAINER_RIGHT? Can you please throw some more light!
Also, one more point i want to stress, I want "ALV List" while running in foreground. I have check out
How to run ALV reports in batch
How do I tell the program to run in background for the purposes of this ALV alone?
Thanks

How can I fixed alv list?
how can I fixed alv list?
alv list always change size(scaled) I mean cannot fixed
I did using some parameters following .I want to fixed the length of ALV column but still not work.
fieldcat_ln-intlen = 13
fieldcat_ln-outputlen = 13.
becuase I need to know print size and so on etc..
What I have to do? anything wrong?Hi Yi,
1. If u are talking about fixing
the size of the column,
then u are right.
outputlen is the right property.
2. Along with that we need to do one more thing.
This is regarding the column heading
which appears either LONG, SHORt, MEDIUM,
from the data element defition.
set ddictxt = M
or L, S (short)

Differences between normal list and ALV list
Hi All,
where can i find the differences between a Normal SAP List and ALV List(Documentation part).Imagine you have to write a report that lists out customer addresses. You will write code to get the input from the user via selection screen and then read the data based on the seletion from the database into an internal table(or a set of internal tables). Now once you have the data you will need to output this. In normal list reports, you will have to use 'WRITE' statements to format the output into columns and rows. Now suppose user wants some interactivity in it. Then you will have to provide some buttons and/or menu options through custom pf-status and then write logic for reacting to the user actions. After writing many such reportsm, you will feel like some of this can generalized and reused in every report.
That is exactly what ALV does. It takes out most of repeated sections of the code from out of you and provides you with excellent outputting functionality. It provides many standard functions like 'print', 'sort', 'filter', 'sum' etc by default. Imagine writing code yourself for all these if you were writing normal list program. One more major difference is the editing feature. If you were write a program that gives the user with editing features, then you will have to write a lot of logic. But with ALV, all the features like adding a row, deleting a row, copying a row, editing some fields of a row etc come by default.
Likewise, interactivity has become quite easy to implement. Like double clicking on a customer number, if the user wants to go to display customer transaction, it is very easy using ALV.
As pointed out here by others, go through the documentation of ALV and go through some of those demo programs and you will know the difference. ALV takes out a lot of burden of coding everything away from you and lets you worry about the business functionality that your report provides, rather than formatting the output or providing interactivity to the output.
Hope this helps,
Srinivas -

thanks,
maheedhar.tHi,
What do you mean by Hiding the records.
Deleting completely from the screen.
You can just delete the records from the internal table and pass to field catalog before displaying again.
or serach in the slis structrue for hiding the contents of the output.
reward if useful
