About:blank issue causing Flash update to crash my IE9

I don't understand your interface - I have asked this question three times now. Anyway, I need to know what to do ASAP. After updating Flash, as your window asked me to, it's now crashing IE9 and says something about the 'about:blank' causing some problem. I am not a techie so PLEASE tell me what to do.

Do you crash on all websites? What happens if you go to this page: Flash Player Version
If you uninstall Flash Player using this utility: http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe does Internet Explorer stop crashing? Flash Player itself should not be complaining about "about:blank". You might want to run a malware scanner such as the free version of MalwareBytes.

Print dialog in Firefox causes Flash player to crash

We have an application that allows viewing and printing reports. It works fine in IE and Chrome. In Firefox, when Print button is clicked and print dialog opens, if it is left for 30-45 seconds without user interaction Flash crashes. The problem exists in FF4 and higher. Does anyone know a workaround for this?

This issue seems to be related to hang protection that was added to Firefox. To disable follow these steps:
1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press.
2. The about:config page should appear. In the Filter box, type dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs
3. Double click the setting and change the number to -1 to disable hang protection.
I set it to -1 and the problem went away. This isn't really a valid solution because we have hundreds of thousands of users and we can't tell them how to configure their browsers. I am waiting on someone internally to test with the regular Flash player. I am using the debugger player.

The last time I updated my Firefox, I received a dialog box instructing me to update my Flash player, which I did immediately. When I then visited sites requiring a flash player, all the sites crashed and I was unable to view the contents of these sites. So, I restored my system back to where it was one month ago and everything went back to normal, and I was able to use the sites requiring a flash player. Now, today, 9/8/10, my Firefox was updated again, and I received the same dialog box - to update my flash player due to security concerns. However, I don't trust the Adobe flash player website to give me an uncorrupted version of the updated player, so what should I do?

STILL HAVING ISSUES WITH FLASH PLUG-INS & CRASHES

I updated to the new 11.6 Adobe Flash and I am still having issues. I had the same issues, with the previous version of Flash Player. This issue occurs, multiple times daily. When I play a game on Zynga.com or Facebook (Daily), I either receive the message that the "Plug-in is not responding," or it Crashes. This then effects other websites, I have open in other tabs ie; Verizon.net, Adobe, etc. I have posted numerous Bug Reports on Google Chrome and one Bug Report on Adobe, without any results? It is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING! It happens multiple times during a game, sometimes the plug-in issue resolves itself (only for a very short time) or it Crashes, or it doesn't do anything and I have to close the tab and re-load (refreshing does not work) or it just Crashes without warning and I usually lose data. I am not the only person, who has this issue RE: Game play on Zynga & Facebook. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

This seems to be an issue with Zynga games and the DEBUG version of Flash Player exclusively. I have always had to use the non-debug version of Flash Player when playing Zynga games. As such, this seems to be a problem on Zynga's end and therefore need to take it up with them.

Driver issue causing new update not to finish

I tried to update to IOS 8 last night on my iPhone 5. The drivers on my laptop have been messed up since I changed the hard drive in early 2014. iTunes on my laptop does not recognize my device due to the compatibility issue between the drivers so I haven't been able to sync it to iTunes in some time. I have tried every troubleshooting tip I can find online to try to get this to work and so far, no luck. Can I log into my account using someone else's iTunes to finish the sync? If so, will it delete all of their information or any of my information?

Adobe Flash updater keeps crashing

Safari (8.0.4) is saying the Adobe Flash player is out of date. I have downloaded the updater and tried to install but the installer itself keeps crashing.
I tried dowloading again with the same result. Tried on a completely different computer ,same result. Whats up??

I will post what I found out myself and it has been now 4 days now since I have had the "FlaahPlayertUpdateService.exe" error pop up.
I'm Betty A Knight, 90-year old retired Mainframe Computer Programmer and retired Independent Internet Contractor for Compuserve and Microsoft (MSN) and also a Beta Tesater for "Windows 95." I received the two or three emails from you and just before I received them, something happened which I will tell you about which I did before I received your emails so that I have not tried them yet but I have not received the "FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe" errors for two days now.
I have been trying to debug this myself just but really only thinking logically.
So, everytime I tried to update the Flash download it would download it but then stop when it hit the install part telling me I had another version of Flash and the install couldn't continue. I searched every way I knew possibly to the find the Flash program that the system claimed I was running. So in trying something else (I have my system set to show "hidden" files and Ia tried this:
C:/Document and Settings/Betty A Knight/Local Settings/Application Data and I found an icon for Flash. The problem is (which happens to the memory of 90-year old people) I can't remember if it was in Local Settings or Application Data but I deleted that Flash icon from which ever place I found it. Then I tried to download a new copy of Flash from your website and it downloaded and finished correctly.
Now for four (4) days, I have not received the "FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe" error. As I said the normal searching for a duplicate Flash turned up nothing. Only looking in the "hidden" files did I find a copy of Flash.
I hope I have written this so that you can understand what I have written. If I start to get this error again then I will follow all of your emails and help to debug for tis error (if it continues). So in essence, I had to find and delete a current version of Flash, install a new one to so far not get this error.

Free Transform/Rotate Causes Flash CS3 to Crash

This problem is driving me nuts. I'm importing a 2000 x 3000
jpeg image and converting it to a symbol. everything seems fine
until I try to do a free transform and rotate the image. Then when
I proceed to cut the image, CS3 crashes. I can reproduce the error
every time. It works fine if the image is smaller but 2000 x 3000
is not too much to ask at all!
Has anyone else had similar problems?
I can reproduce this error on a Mac and a PC.
UPDATE: Breaking the bitmap apart after importing the image
seems to remedy the problem. Is this the only fix? Doesn't seem
right to me that I can't just easily drop in an semi-large asset
without having to break it apart.
UPDATE 2: Tried doing this with a larger asset and this did
not work at all. It crashes, I feel like Flash has a hard time with
large assets but I need the assets large so when I zoom in, I do
not lose quality. What am I doing wrong here? How do you guys
handle your zoom ins?

What is causing Flash Player to crash shortly after I download and install the latest version

It only normally lasts a day or two, but the last time it crashed on the first use the same day I downloaded and installed it. I am running Windows 7 Home Edition with Firefox as my browser, and I have Bitdefender antivirus as well as MalwareBytes anti malware installed and active. As far as I can tell Flash Player is the only program affected this way. Is there any other substitute player I can install that works as a plugin to Firefox and won't crash the day it's installed?

When I used to see this with Win 7 it was because the Shockwave player (not Flash) was outdated.
To make sure you're up to date for both, download the following:
Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Also, download these:
Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Shockwave Player 12 FULL installer (ther browsers)
Save all the files and close your browser.
Run the uninstallers first (both of them)
Go to: C/Windows/System32
Delete the Macromed folder.
Go to: C/Windows/SysWOW64 (if your Windows is 64 bit)
Delete the Macromed folder.
Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key + R and type 'regedit' [minus the quotes] and click OK)
In the Registry Editor, go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE
Delete the Macromedia folder (Right click and choose "Delete").
Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and delete the Macromedia folder there too.
Close the Registry Editor and empty your recycle bin.
Run the Flash Player installer, and then the Shockwave FULL installer.

Adobe Version 9: Memory Leak Issue causing the application to crash .

We are facing an issue with Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 9. The application is getting crashed with an unhandled system exception (Access violation reading location 0x1003a24e).
Our application is a .NET Windows based application, where we are using webbrowser control to view the pdf files.
The application works fine with Adobe Version 8 and 10. But there is an issue specific to Version 9, even described in the Adobe Forum
We tried using CoFreeUnusedLibraries Function on the form close event of the document viewer as a work around, but it didn’t help.
The client is not willing to move to the Adobe Reader Version 10. Can anyone facing similar issue with Adobe Version 9, please assist.

Changing default audio application causes Flash Player to crash in Firefox on WinXP

my shockwave (v17 installed) crashed constantly when adjusting audio. changed defualt web audio (options, applications, web audio) to windows media player from vlc. no more crashes...

On Win7 and higher with Firefox 37.0.1, Web Audio isn't an option -- but there are several dozen individual audio and video codecs listed. There should be a discrete "Shockwave Flash Object" entry, with a "Use Shockwave Flash (in Firefox)" option. I don't see a Web Audio entry. I'm guessing that this behavior was problematic, and probably something that didn't make sense to carry forward to newer operating systems.
It may be some compatibility thing between WMP and Flash, but hard to know for sure. I'll keep this in mind when working with Firefox/WinXP folks in the future though.

Attempts made to solve problem #1:
- ran cwshredder to resolve any about:blank issue that could

installations
- everything works fine in firefox

So you are running another WD Component/Application within an iFrame of a parent WD Application? This is not a recommended or supported appraoch. You should not use iFrames to intgrate WD Components. Instead use Component Usages to embed the component within another component (use the ALV as an example).

3 articles out of 14 causing flash plugin crash..

I have 3 articles out of 14 that crashed the flash plugin in the folio producer. I do not have the slightest idea how to troubleshoot this. Any help would be SO appreciated! (The rest of the articles in the folio are giving me no trouble)

Well it started last week, when I upload the full folio (14 articles). It looks fine on the ipad. I usually don't use the Folio Producer a lot, so I hadn't went into it. When I did I noticed I had no thumbnails. Through trial and error, I have figured out that 3 of the articles cause the "no thumnbails" on the entire folio in Producer and since yesterday, cause the crashing..
So Today I uploaded each folio 1 by 1, trying to single out the troubled ones. So one of the trouble ones is named 03. I update it in Folio Builder, then go to the Producer, open the folio to see the expanded view, and I can tell right away if I it is going to work or not. After about 3 seconds, I get a spinning wheel in Firefox, and soon the whole screen goes blank and I get "The Adobe Flash Plugin has crashed" And thats it. I have to reload and the same thing happens.
Now these Action Script errors I'm getting, I do not know if it's coming from the Indesign file or the internet. These are very sporatic and I have yet to pinpoint where they are coming from. Also I tried to copy the entire message, and not EVERY time I update/upload the file will I get a window. I just did it twice to try to give you the entire message and no error came up, however if I go to the folio producer, I still get a crash...
When I did cut and copy the exact text, I pasted it into my Text Edit, and it pasted the actual first page of my article, like a JPG. I have no idea why it did that!
That's all I can think of for now. I hope it makes sense!

Catalyst/Chromium causes screen to flash wildly then crashes computer.

I'm using catalyst-test-pxp 14.3-1 and chromium 35.0.1916.153-1. I am using 2 monitors. The main one being my laptop's screen (LVDS) to the right and my secondary screen (CRT1) to my left. Previously I had used a single screen configuration, however after reconfiguring xorg.conf with aticonfig, spawning chromium will cause the screen to flash wildly and crash the computer, forcing me to hit the power button and wait for the system to power off. About my setup: 2 year old workstation, Intel Core2 Duo, 4 GB RAM, ATI Radeon 2600PRO graphics card, all up to date on Windows patches, latest device drivers, etc.
Until now the system was totally stable. For the past 1-2 weeks, anytime I try to play videos on CNN's website (which uses Flash), my system freezes-- no response from mouse, keyboard, anything. Only way out is a hard reset.
I've opened the case and checked all connections. Pulled and re-seated memory, even switched the slots each stick is in. Pulled and re-seated graphics card. Cleaned CPU and graphics heatsinks with compressed air. Verified all fans are working. Replaced the power supply with a new Corsair 650w. Ran utilities to verify CPU and GPU temps, and found all to be very good (it's a well cooled case).
I've completely uninstalled all traces of Flash using the Adobe Flash Uninstaller, after killing all but essential processes (to make sure nothing had Flash open). Then I reinstalled the latest version available today (10 Feb 2011). Both the ActiveX component for IE8, and the Firefox version, still bring about a system lockup.
The only, and I mean ONLY thing that ever crashes this computer is playing Flash videos, usually from CNN.
It does not matter if I am viewing in IE8 or the latest version of Firefox. Result is exactly the same, on exactly the same videos, regardless of browser.
If this is truly a device driver issue, then it is ONLY triggered by Flash. I'm a very busy telecommuter who spends as much as 10-12 hours a day on this machine for both work and recreation. No other software of any kind causes this PC to lock up, so this is clearly a Flash-triggered problem.
