About Buying Flash

Hello.
I am considering buying Flash and PhotoShop. I believe Flash and PS latest versions are $700 each. But I guess buying one of those packages (eg. Production Premium) around $1800 is much more logical which include many more programs. They are expensive to me at the moment but I'll collect money.
1 - I heard there are student discounts but I am no student so I was wondering if there are other types of discounts. I want those to install at home and going to sell content I personally create, not in a company if that matters. What would be the cheapest way to get those programs?
2 - What if I buy Flash soon and leave others for later. If I buy a package later, will I have 2 Flash licenses or will it help me have a discount on the package's price?
3 - How Download purchases work? Do we get serials for each program and are they somehow shown in our account here?
4 - How do shipments work? I am in Turkey and could the discs be sent here? How much the shipment costs are around and how long would it take roughly to arrive?
Thanks.

Hi... You should ask Adobe's Sell department. Or maybe chat with a seller (it should pop-up when you are in a "buy" page for a while).

  • I'm not sure whether to buy Flash CS 5.5 or CS 3. Help please?

    Hello everybody.
I've finally decided to buy Flash, but I'm hesitating on which version. I have the chance to purchase either CS5.5 or CS3 for about the same price from a local shop that still had CS3 in stock.
I've heard CS5.5 is bug-infested and very different from previous versions, which makes me think it will be harder for me to learn to use it (I'm just a hobbyist and rely mostly on online tutorials to learn to make simple little actionscript games). But it is the newest version, so I'm assuming I'd have the best support and maybe new features I might grow to like once the growing pains are over?
On the other hand, I've heard CS3 was pretty good and stable, but I'm worried that it being much older, it might violently disagree with running in an Windows 7 machine. (64bit?)
And it seems bad to buy older software when you can buy new one for the same price, even if the old one has a better rep, at least from what I've heard.
So now that I'm completely confused and unsure which I should get, I ask you all, if you are knowledgeable in both of those applications, could you please tell me whether my assumptions are correct or not, and which of the two you would recommend?
Particularly, if I get CS5.5, would it be easy to learn to use it? Would you say the UI is friendly? Is it truly as picky and crashy as I've heard it was?
And most importantly, if I get CS5.5, would I be able to use old actionscript in it? Like if I follow a tutorial for something that worked in Flash CS2, will it still work in CS5.5? (It was either actionscript 2 or 3, if I remember well.)
Or would any tutorials for anything older than CS5.5 be worthless?
I've been reading reviews and looking in various places, but none of those are as good as hearing first hand the experience of a real person who isn't trying to sell you something. So please, help me make my choice.
Thank you so much in advance. I really appreciate any help any of you can give me!

    @ Rob:
Thank you! That's very helpful. I'll get 5.5.
How bad would you say the UI is compared to CS2? I had managed to figure out how to more or less do what I needed with CS2, so I'm hoping it's not a lot worse. :-S
    @ Ned:
    Thank you.
I was under the impression Adobe's help was horrible no matter what...? Hopefully I'm wrong? The only time I needed to contact them about Photoshop, it was such a catastrophe that I never used Adobe help again. Hopefully they're better with flash.

  • Where to buy Flash Lite in Europe

    Hy all
I want tot buy Flash Lite in Romania. Any chance to do so?
    I have a Nokia 6670 phone.

So, I still need some ideeas about where can I get FL 2.0 in
    Romania.
Suppose, that I don't have a place for getting the player in

then transfer it via internet to my PC and upload to my phone vie
    BlueTooth?

  • I want to buy flash games - non -exclusive included

I’m buying Flash games to feature on my website,
www.jocuri-tari.ro. Depending on the quality of the games, I can
offer between $20 - $500 per game. This is a great opportunity for
Flash developers to make some money and also get their games
distributed to a wide audience. If we buy your game, we’ll
ask you to insert our site’s logo as an intro screen and add
a link to our site within the game. We’ll then feature the
game on jocuri-tari.ro and allow the whole world to download it,
distribute it, and use it on their own websites. We WILL allow you
to leave your name in the game as the author, so this is a great
way for you to get some widespread recognition as a game developer.
    I accept also non-exclusive games(previously distributed on
the Internet) as long as you own full rights to the game and all
graphics, sounds, etc. We’ll require that you give us full
exclusive rights to the game, along with all source code.
We will not buy any games without seeing the fully functional
and complete game first. If you’re interested, please email a
link to view the game you want to sell to kaydotsuperstar AT gmail
DOT com. Do not PM or reply here, as I don't check this forum very
often. I’ll evaluate each game that is emailed to me and
decide if I’m interested and how much I can offer you for the
    game.
    Thanks!

  • Best place to buy Flash ?

We have previously used another program (and it was a good
one) to create Flash applications... But now it is time to get the
    real Flash.
    - We will be buying Flash and Captivate.
    - Unfortunately they don't come in a Creative Suite package
as far as we can find.
    - List price on the pair is about $1400.
    - Would you guys be kind enough to suggest some vendors we
    should consider.
    Thanks for any help.

Gee Whiz cbeech... Most software manufacturers urge you to
    buy from their distributor base...
The 'street price' is the term I think they use to describe
what their resellers charge for the products... as opposed to the
    'list price' or whatever...
And, I'm not necessarily looking for the absolute lowest
price... but I do have a fiduciary responsibility to make a
reasonable effort to buy at market price... what ever that may be.
In fact I called Adobe before this post and they gave me a
long list of their resellers and indicated they probably would more
    aggressively price the product.
I posted my note in the hopes that some kind soul here would
save me a half-day on the phone... and just point me in the right
    direction.
I don't think it matters if I buy from Best Buy, Amazon.com,
Staples, Circuit City, or whoever... If they are a valid Adobe
reseller I will get all the benefits of registration, upgrade
pricing, information services, and product support.
Regardless, I apologize if the question is inappropriate for
    the forum.
    Best regards.

  • Upgrade Creative Suite or Buy Flash Professional?

I am currently a student am majoring in Graphic Design and I purchased the Adobe Creative Suite Standard sometime within the previous year. I have been extremely happy with said purchase but I am now in feed of Flash Professional. I am currently taking a class that requires it and am already a week or so into my trial. I would like to purchase it but am a little conflicted as to what makes the most sense: Upgrading my entire Design Suite? Or buy Flash outright?
For upgrades I am currently debating between two: CS6 Production Premium & CS6 Design & Web Premium. I think either would be beneficial and they are the same amount. But I am leaning towards the CS6 Design because I am more familiar with the programs there. I do not recognize all of the programs listed within the Production Premium but am thinking that I could purchase this upgrade and have a bunch of new programs instead of just upgraded ones (like I would have with the CS6 Design). Obviously I know the decision falls on me but I’m still on the fence between one of those two OR buying Flash itself.
I am a student and have used my discount for my previous purchase but I was curious does a discount apply for an upgrade as well? And about how much would it be for me to: Buy Flash with discount? Buy CS6 Production Premium OR CS6 Design & Web Premium upgrade with/out discount? Also (and this may also be the deciding factor) can I get a physical copy of either? I feel better to have the program literally IN HAND than download but if it is not possible I’ll go with what is more cost effective.
    Thank you for any help!
    dmlr.

There are no upgrades for students. You simply buy whatever you need at the discount price as a full license. For pricing check your regional S&T pages.

While it is against the TOU of these boards to speculate on future products/updates what Thomas said is right: FCPX is quite a new product and it doesn't make any sense to drop it now.
The only thing that MIGHT get dropped at a certain point is support for older hardware/OS as FCP X progresses.

  • How can I lodge a complaint about Adobe Flash Player?

How can I lodge a complaint about Adobe Flash Player? When I updated Adobe Flash Player this morning it also installed a McAfee scanning software without any warning or notification. I find this totally unacceptable. But I cannot find any information on the Adobe website that will allow me to lodge my complaint. Which I also find totally unacceptable.
    Ho hum.

This is a an old complaint. I would have thoughtas much bad karma as Adobe has received would have stopped this practice espcially since it found that many time McAfeee either gets protection signatures wrong or cause more problems than it fixes.
I don't know whether mailto:[email protected] is still effective.
At one time a disgruntled Adobe products user created a FaceBook or twitter page. And many in past have claimed when there complaints got ignored or laughed at by Adobe. They suddenly got action whe airring their complaint on this FaceBook or Twitter page.
There should be a big warning Box stating:
Adobe is about to install a package Called McAfee  on your computer. If you do not wish to instal click checkmark here.
Do you wish have Adobe install Products not requested on your computer yes__  or no__ please use a √

I've installed Photoshop Elements 12 from a CD onto my PC laptop. I'm thinking about buying a tablet, so was wondering if (a) can I install on a 2nd device (b) can I use the serial number online as I won't beable to install from a CD, and (c) will I beable to choose a mac, after the initial was on a PC???? Thanks Martin

A single user license allows for having activated installations on two machines. An Elements license allows for either platform in many cases (recently not the case from what I've seen).  If you have the disc, see if it contains the Mac installation files... if it does then you should be able to install them via a download as well.  I cannot answer with certainty for the last question since it relies on the previous question.  Personally, I would not let an inexpensive piece of software dictate an expensive hardware purchase decision.

  • I was thinking about buy an 128GB SSD Macbook Pro, will it work with my external hard drive if i plugged it in through USB still?

Well basically I've heard the hype about SSD and i was thinking about buying a mac with a 128GB SSD, but i was wondering, if i plugged in my 320GB external hard drive, would it work with an SSD mac? Or, do i need and internal hard drive for it to be compatible with my external one?

You can replace your internal drive with a SSD and buy an external enclosure for your 320GB from OWC.
    No problems.

  • Buying Flash Builder 4

Is there any way that I can buy Flash Builder 4 to keep my trial version going? I want to start developing Flex 4 applications now, but my trial version expired. If I buy a Flex Builder 3 license now, will I be able to use that license to keep using Flash Builder 4? I want to buy Flash Builder, but since it's a beta, what are my options?

Customer support basically told me that there was no way that I could
continue my trial of Flash Builder 4, so I had to return the software (Flex
Builder 3) the same day I bought it. The application I'm building requires
features present in Flex 4, so I don't have too many choices here. The
software destruction agreement is still pending, but I don't want to go
through the headache of dealing with customer support again.
I had no idea of the serial number request form until now, I wish I did.
Unfortunately I am just going to have to wait until Flash Builder 4 comes
out, to avoid giving my boss a heart attack asking him to buy Flex Builder 3
again. And, to answer your question: yes, I did try my existing FB3 serial
number into Flash Builder 4 and it did not work.

  • Check Your Plugins gives a wrong answer about Shockwave Flash

Fist of all, the page lists [http://www.adobe.com/products/shockwaveplayer/ Shockwave Flash] but it reports details about [http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ Macromedia Flash]. This is in concert with the terminology used in the Plugin Manager; I wonder whence this error came from.
Now to the important part: The page [http://www.mozilla.com/plugincheck/ Check Your Plugins] tells me I have Shockwave Flash 10.3 r181 and it is up to date. However, [http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ Adobe Flash Player] tells me I have 10,3,181,14 installed while current is 10.3.181.22. The difference is [http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb11-13.html CVE-2011-2107], so this mistake is not harmless.

16.0.0.'''296''' is the most current on https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html and is indeed vulnerable though in next day the 16.0.0.'''305''' may be there.
However if you have automatic updates enabled in Adobe Flash player it should give you the new update 16.0.0.'''305'''

  • Can I install/buy a Flash Catalyst plugin and run it on CS3 or would I need to buy Flash CS5 too?

I use CS3 in my company and they're not prepare to spend more money on a whole new adobe package. I'd love to use the advantages of catalyst but not sure I can just puchase it on its own or f I need to buy Flash CS5 too. any help?

Flash Catalyst is available as a stand alone product. However without CS5 versions of Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, you will be unable to do any visual round tripping of the assets. Also you might need Flash Builder to extend your work beyond the capabilities of FC.

  • Advice about buying a new hard drive

I have a TOSHIBA Satellite L25-S1216. I have not been able to boot into Windows XP for 3 years using the factory Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD and the Fully Recover procedure on the back of the DVD packae. I have been using Linux for the past 3 years. Ubuntu SMART test disk utility tells me I have 20 bad hard drive sectors. I have concluded I should buy a new hard drive, since mine has 20 bad sectors. My current hard drive is ATA-6, so I know I need a PATA compatible hard drive. I'd like to increase to maybe 60 GB from the current 40 GB. I'd also like to go with a solid state drive, but there don't appear to be many PATA compatible solid state drives.
And I don't want to get too complicated or expensive; I want to stay with my current Windows XP. Not sure if a SATA PATA interface adapter would work to allow me to use a SATA solid state hard drive or not. I know (from reading knowledge base posts) there is also the potential problem of the older BIOSs not recognizing the newer Advanced Drive Format drives.
QUESTION: Does anybody have any advice about buying a hard drive that would work for me? How can I be reasonably sure a hard drive I buy is compatible with my computer?
    Thank you,
    Bob
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

either get a pata drive (you can get larger than the stock 40gb) or use your $ towards a more current new/used laptop.  pata ssd would be a waste and I doubt adapter would work.  also, ms is dropping support for xp so it would be a good time to upgrade to something with a more current os as well.

As far as I know there is no US cell carrier that allows pay as you go with an iPhone. You can purchase an unlocked iPhone 4S at an Apple Store and try it with a non-supported carrier.
