About BW History...?

Please let me know BW History from anyone here.
Upto now howmany BW versions is there & what are their releasing dates...?
and how many BW implementations done across the world...? and what is imp. of BW as per client perspective..? why client should choose BW..?
What are the expected projects(implementaion & support) upto now..?

The earliest version was BW 1.0 but I guess the more stable was BW 1.2B and then came the following
BW 2.1C (more stable)
BW 3.0A
BW 3.0B
BW 3.1
BW 3.3
BI 3.5 - merged with NW2004
BI 7.0 - The reason it is 7.0 is that SAP wanted all the products on NW 2004s to be same version hence 7.0.
More than 50% of the customers using BW are are not having SAP R/3 which is quite a surprise.

Need to find a book about Java history

Hello,
I'm not sure I am posting in the right forum, but anyway...
I am currently performing a research entitled "The use of the Java platform in the entertainment industry". To begin, I need a book where I could find hitorical information about Java cretion and evolution, but I can't manage to find one. The history given on the java.sun.com website is way too short and all the books I could find deal with technical aspect of Java...
Does anyone knows a book that could interest me?

So there's no chance for me to find a book with a
proper history (better than the half page introduction
in present in every Java programming book)Well then why not try journals? You won't find one book from which you can write your whole thesis, and if you did, you probably wouldn't get very good marks. As a guide, my MSc dissertation had around 300 references and 60k words, which is not uncommon. Journal articles are far more targetted, and certainly more likely to cover such a specific area as what you are asking of.

Question about versioning (history) in the latest release

Hallo,
Some questions:
1. Will versioning ever be integrated with locked pages, locked scene, colored pages, revision marks functionality etc, so that at a particular moment you can optionally augment the current versioning with the more traditional way of production revision cycles?
2. If above will not be the case (or is never activated): what currently happens with scene numbers & manual breakdown info that is already added, but than the scene gets deleted. Is all this info gone (& scenes renumbered). Can we save a version to keep this info? Please clarify.
3. Regarding breakdown of elements: will there be a way that we can visualize breakdown sheets on screen. It's much easier for me to look at it that way, e.g. the Scenechronize way (I guess I'm old).
4. Regarding breakdown and making the script 'production ready', will there be a way to combine scenes that belong together and part scenes (that are not in the same shooting location but where the writer chose to combine the action in one scene, eg like telephone conversation etc).
I guess all my questions boil down to this: will Story also aim to offer serious production breakdown features that could be used by production managers & assistant directors to prep for physical production, or will it mainly be a collaborative writing tool (even if it does allow you to transfer text into On Location shotlists and then eventually into your clips).
I guess there's a conceptual difference (at least when talking about narrative film with a lot of cast, locations, props etc): do you support mainly the writing effort and than transfer into a tool like Scenechronize once production starts - or do you go further? For (corporate) interview type shoots this matters less.
I would be interested to hear your views on the matter.

Yes. Versioning will be integrated with locked pages, colored pages but we are not planning to lock scenes yet. We will also show asterix against changed lines in future updates.
You can always explicitly save a version (file->save as) to mark a checkpoint draft. You can add your own comments while saving this draft so that you can find it later.
We'd like to support production related features because we want to leverage script metadata for all it can be leveraged for. That said, "full fledged" is a loaded term. We will take small steps and enable workflows related to production as we go along. Dynamic breakdown reports, that can be viewed and edited in Story are on our roadmap.

Question About Asset History Sheet

Hello SAP Guru,
I have an asset that was fully depreciated on 2010 (NVB=0) but not yet deactivated. Why I can not see it on my Asset History sheet on 2011?

One more question, in asset explorer (AW01N) when I choose FY2010 i could see my NVB is 0 becuase it is fully depreciated on FY10. Since it is not deactivated or retired the value in FY11 must be zero (NBV=0) however in AW01N it says
Asset has no values in fiscal year 2011 for area: 01 [My client told me she must see NBV zero in FY11]
Is this correct?

Password on every purchase? and concern about purchase history screen.

iTunes 9 is great overall, the store is much better and the iphone app organizer is a god send, but I do have 2 concerns.
First, whenever I make a purchase, it asks for my password, it used to do this once per session i.e. when I launch the program and access the store, then I was good until I closed the app, but now I must enter it with every purchase, it makes 1-click a 3 step process, how do I turn on the shopping cart?
secondly, the new history screen that comes up whenever I buy something, that is great info to have access to, but I don't want that displayed randomly upon purchase or "free app upgrade" redemption if I have other people around, what I buy and how much I spend is no one else's darn business! Also, I can not go back from this screen to the search that I did 3 screens earlier, so I have to redo that query to buy the 2nd result that I also wanted.

I scrolled all the way down on that purchase history thing and at the bottom in red tiny letters it said that there is a problem with the card, which there was as I had that card killed this week due to loss, but I had to scroll to get a message that should have been on the top, in big bold lettering, you know, something like "fix your charge card info, dingbat!"

TS4079 How can we make Siri to understand more about the history of our house?

I would like to know what the historical buildings that has been remodeled to look like before they got remodeled, and I would like to know when they were built actually.

From someone that researched the history of our house, Siri won't help you. YOu need to spend some quality time researching the deed which shoudl be filed at the county clerk's office (they have buy/sell records for every piece of property...who you bought it from, who they bought it from, etc, all the way back to the original land sale and building permit), as well as the Polk Directory, which at the turn of the century did a yearly/biyearly listing of who lives where and works where.
If you're really lucky, your local history museum has files online, if you're not, there's a lot of tedious book work to be done.
Siri doesn't do that. She accesses things like google maps to tell you how many hardware stores are within 30 miles, or other specific sites to pull up data like temperature, forecast, etc. She's nothing but a vocal version of google that only operates within a specific set of parameters.

Question about using history panel

One thing in history panel keep me wonder all the time, "set the source for history brush". I to check the little brush on different steps, and I don't see any change to my image, so whats that for really ?

The History Brush paints with a past version of your document. You set which version you paint with using that function.

Need help opening a CD about family history

The instructions for the CD are (1) insert disc and wait for icon to appear on desktop [this I can do]; (2) open Netscape [here's the starting point for my question....]
Is Navigator the same as Netscape and which version do I look for [my mac is OS 10.6.7]? What do I need to know about installing it, given that I'm obviously not very tech-savvy?
And what does a browser have to do with a CD anyway?

Follow the rest of the instructions in any web browser unless you run into further issues. This typically occurs when the files on the CD are the same format as those used on the web.

TS3694 i recently purchased an iphone 3gs every time i try to update it keeps failing and getting error 1015.the phone was purchased second hand so know nothing about its history .all i get now is pic of usb and itunes logo.we went on itunes and now wont

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the iPhone 3GS can only be updated as far as 4.2.1
Requirements for WhatsApp are iOS 4.3 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

So that app cannot run on the iPhone 3GS.
I stand corrected but apparently you may not be able to update the device regardless.

Monitoring File History / backups in Windows 8.1

Hi,
By tracking some events I was able to monitor Windows 7 Backups. By means of of schedule task triggered by the events belows.
Image Backup successful : Event log : Microsoft/Windows/Backup/Operational. Source : Backup. Event ID : 14.
Profile Backup successful : Event Log : Application. Source : Windows Backup. Event ID 4098
(BTW, the Microsoft/Windows/Backup/Operational log not holding all backup logging is a bit disappointing, to say the least.)
How can I monitor Windows 8 "File history" ?
I we keep the default "every hour" File History, the best approach is perhaps to track failures instead of success. Also because I haven't seen any event logged for a successful backup into the log : Microsoft/Windows/FileHistory-Engine/File history
backup log/Operational.
When I disconnect the backup device I get and Event ID 203 in there, though.
What are other event IDs related to a backup failure ?
Is there a configurable Action Center notification on backup failure ?

Log files related to File History can be found in Applications and Service Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows. We found following two interesting event files:
WHC under FileHistory-Core
File History Backup Log under FileHistory-Engine
The entries of Information level in WHC appears whenever File History runs, stops, turns off or on. On the other hand, File History Backup Log records warnings or error messages, for instance, file was not backed up due to xyz error, unusual
condition was encountered during finalization of a backup cycle for configuration, unable to scan user libraries for changes and perform backup of modified files for configuration.

History more than 7 days??

Hello everybody,
I have a question about the history. In the skype personel page you only get back for 7 day to see your conversation. Is it also possible look at the history for 2 weeks or 3 weeks in the past? I had a very important talk with a client and lost the conversation.

The default is actually 180 days, but you may have configured it to only remember 7 days. The setting in that version can be found in Tools | Options | Privacy
Incidentally, you'd be well advised to update to v3.6.16 via '''Help '''| '''Check For Updates'''. There was a security breach at an SSL Provider recently and a number of fraudulent certificates fell into the wrong hands. Those can be used to impersonate any site including online banking and older versions of all browsers will not display a warning. Version 3.6.16 blacklists those certificates.

Revaluation values in Asset History Sheet

Hi,
I have a doubt about asset history sheet. I dont know how to do to see Revaluation values on Asset History sheet. Is it possible? I'm comparing one asset in AR02 and S_ALR_87012018 (Dep and interest) and the difference is the "Revaluation values". Actually those are not showed in History sheet and it makes it working wrong.
Is there any functional definitio why it is not showed there? or, is there any possibility to include Revaluation values ?
I reviewed the History sheet groups and I didn't found anything related torevaluations.

I have not done it, but you can create a History sheet version in customising. Copy 1 and add the column. Also look at a Sort version. You may want other information there.
When you run the History Sheet version, select your History sheet version and sort version. Select ALV format, once the report is run, you can select and deselect columns in layout and then save that layout. I am sure that using the ALV format it will prove very useful.

Scheduling Agreements Change History

Hello,
I was trying to track the changes of Scheduling Agreements (VA33) but could not. The "Display Changes" option in the Environment Menu and the CDHDR/CDPOS gives only provides information at the item level. The schedule line changes like change in open quantity / order quantity could not be tracked.
Is there any one succeeded in the above problem, if yes, Please share.

See SAP Note 746502 (Scheduling agreements do not record changes)
This is SAP standard functionality.
The change log for scheduling agreements contains only data concerning
the changes of the header and the item of scheduling agreement. Because
the scheduling agreements in difference to other sales documents have a
more complicated structure "Header - Item - Delivery Schedule - Schedule
lines" and the scheduling agreements contain usually many delivery
schedules and many schedule lines in each delivery schedule, which will
be regularly overwritten, due to technical restrictions it is not
possible to store all changes in the change log.
The information about the history of delivery schedules and schedule
lines can be found in the scheduling agreement in the transactions VA32
/ VA33 if you go to the current (forecast or JIT) delivery schedule and
press the button "Analysis". The information about historical schedule
lines is stored also in the database table VBEH. However the changes of
each actual schedule line during its processing are not documented.
