About connection preference in os6

My brother have Bold & after we both upgrade to os 6
There is an option which is not available at curve which is (connection preference )
Is this normal??? Because it is so important to have these
Also I have problem in my curve which is sms turn into draft?? is there is solution for these ..

re: the connection preference in your 9700: only those device enabled with UMA calling, such as from Tmobile USA, have the connection preference in the Data setup window.
And your new OS upgrade allows to save a draft of an SMS message. That's a new feature.

2 questions about connection to hyper-v in windows 8

hi,
I can connect to my virtual machine from hyper-v manager ,but when I try the other option
--- connect with hyper-v virtual machine(option) I see on the log on wizard telling me that I don't have the right to run this job. take contact with the autorazition policy administrator.
1---my question is here , is connect with hyper-v virtual machine option is specially purposed to connect with virtual server or it has some onother function! because I opened the autorazation
policy on my windows 8 to see if I can edit some policies but I didn't see any function to creat one only it is asking for archieve.
2--connction trough remote desktop to VM is only purposed from ouside or you can use it to connect to VM internally too? very short answers wil be enough.

it gives me Always an error with that I don't have the right to run this conect option through its log on window and I have to contact my system administrator of autorization policy?
is this option (connect) outside the hyper-v manager is purposed for the server or I have to change some policies on my computer to can log on to virtual machine from ouside the hyper-v manager with this second option

Skin/LNG change for AirHelp "About" and "Preferences" windows?

Small but irritating - when I generate AirHelp (Local) via RH9.0, the options text in the About and Preferences windows appears as white text on a light blue background (unless the option is selected, in which case text turns black on blue background - hence legible).
Any way to change this in the LNG file or skin editor?

Mine show blue text on blue background - I used the skin editor to use custom colours; maybe I changed these screens too at the same time (certainly wasn't deliberate on my part).

Connection preferences

It seems that the Window Size settings in Connection Preferences will not save my window settings. It will always default to seamless. This is particularly difficult when using Citrix. The Full Screen settings must be set each time you log in.
I've tried deleting the plist and profiles and installed versions from 3.6.12 to 3.6.17 and none of them seem to save the Connection Preferences.

Bold 9790 "Connection Preferences" missing

I bought the Bold 9790 to use UMA access for cell usage from a WiFi connection where there is no cellular service (from any carrier).
You are supposed to be able to set this:
Bold Connection Preferences
but "Connection Preferences" does not appear on this phone.
I seem to have the right Service Books.
I do pay for the UMA (WiFi) option with Fido.
There is another site that suggests that there is a really painful way to get it going:

There must be a simpler way to get access to "Connection Preferences".
There was a previous posting on this in 2012 that was never answered.

The next thing to investigate is whether you're running the latest version of OS available from Fido. You say you have the necessary service books (though it never hurts to resend them) so now you'll want to make sure you're running a new OS.
Check your phone for OS version then compare it to what Fido currently offers:

Macbook Pro finicky about connecting to internet

My 2009 MacBook Pro suddenly started having problems connecting to the internet wirlessly. I use a D-link router (WBR-2310) connecting to a Westell Modem that has the DSL connection from AT&T. The Mac connects pretty well when using an ethernet cable from the wireless router and also connects wirelessly when I do not enable security on my D-link router but when I enable security its connecting ability becomes very erratic. On rare occasions it will connect but most of the time it will not and I will spend about 30 minutes or more doing various things in the network preferences tab such as running diagnostics or the connection assistant or deleting the keychain for the network and re-entering under join other network and finally after about 30 minutes it may decide to finally connect. Often times when I first turn on the computer the airport will be on but the airport bars in the tab bar are grey then I will click on join other networks and manually enter the network name (even though the Mac already has this info) and select the security type and re-enter the password and the airport bars will fill in black but I will still be unable to connect to the internet. When I run network diagnostics it will have a green light next to Airport and AirPort Settings, a yellow light next to Network Settings and a red light next to ISP, Internet and Server. Often times if I change the TCP/IP to DHCP from Bootp the Mac will aquire a ip address but still will not connect to the internet. Today I configured the IPv4 address manually and was able to get on the internet wirelessly while typing this actually and when I ran a diagnostics so I could better illustrate the problems I was having it got hung up again and I lost my connection. This time the diagnostics had a green light next to network settings but red lights next to ISP, Internet and Server. I appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

I know it is an old thread but I wanted to share my solution anyway. It might be useful for some others. I found a thread somewhere mentioning that wbr-2310 is an old version router with a new shell on it. It was recommended to use the firmware from that model of Dlink (DI624). I gave it a try and used the firmware that I found. It seems like it is working now. I was having dropping issues with both my air and iphone 4, they would drop out during the day several times.

How do I disable "Exceptions" button for "Block pop-up windows" in Content tab?. I am able to Disable other Exception buttons in this tab using about:config preference.

That button doesn't have a pref associated with it, so you can't disable that button with a pref on the about:config page or a lockPref call.
That only leaves the choice to remove that button with code in userChrome.css

Where Can I Learn About Connecting an External Drive to My Airport Extreme?

I'm having trouble find information on this. I want to know the pros and cons of connecting my LaCie drive to the FireWire port of my base station so that different computers in the house have direct access to it. I'd like to know whether there will be a big change in the data transfer rate, any security issues, and whether permissions will be assigned automatically by the computer creating new folders on the drive. Also, I'd like to know whether Time Machine works well this way.
Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

You're right about the USB. Must have been imagining things. Darn those meds. Thanks for the speed comparison too; I think I'll experiment a bit. Shame about Time Machine though. I thought I had read a post elsewhere on the discussion board saying that Time Machine recognized an external drive connected to a router. It may not have been an AEBS, and perhaps recognizing it doesn't mean Time Machine will back up to it.

I am moving into a hotel apartment that has wifi...what about connecting my TC?

the wifi in the hotel apartment is secured with an ID and password for connecting. Will I be able to connect my TC to such network wirelessly, and then still have my devices connect to my TC and share the internet? (and the printer connected on my TC) ?

I am puzzled about the logon procedure of the hotel wifi though... I tried it out on my iphone and the wifi connection opens up some kind of web page where I have to fill in an ID and a password...
Can you guide me step by step how to do this when I would connect my TC to it?
Currently my TC is connected with an ethernet cable to my D-link DIR655, which is ethernet connnected to my current hotel room. This way the D-link keeps my login and I can share the internet over TC to all my devices....
Would the TC, when connected directly to the hotel wifi, also keep my login and would I still be able to share the internet to all my devices this way?

Question about connecting two monitors to Mid 2010 MBP

I have a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro (running OS X, 10.6.8), and I want to connect it to two ASUS monitors (VS228H-P) that have HDMI, DVI, and VGA interfaces.
1) Is this possible?
2) What parts will I need to make the connection?
3) Will I be able to close the lid without the MBP going to sleep?
4) Any recommendations for an external mouse and clickety-clack keyboard? (My preference is for wireless, but I'm open to wired, too).
If there are other recommendations for configuration (I'd like to spend less than $150/monitor. They won't be used for gaming, but for working from home and watching various media...)

Have you made changes in the display settings to make the PC use both monitors? It doesn't extend the screen on it's own.
