About Data In R/3

Hi everyone
I am able to see data in r/3 in  terms like how many hours the labour worked but in my cube which is in bw i am not able to see the data actuulay the condition is it is not taking all the record posted it is only taking the records which have actual finish date so  i dont know how to correct this i am thinking so populate some code or dont know something related to lad plase help very urgent

Actually this actual finish date is populated in r/3 and from there we are pulling alla the records to BW and now when i am trying to build reports for eg take a service order  66666 and for that service order i am not able to get the actual hours (that is work done by the labor)i am only getting the records for which actual finish date is populated
did you get me actually when a service order is opened he is not updating it he is only updating when the work is done but in bw the previous hours are not getting populated..

  • I have a question about Data Rates.

    Hello All.
This is a bit of a noob question I'm sure. I don't think I really understand Data Rates and how it applies to Motion... therefore I'm not even sure what kind of questions to ask. I've been reading up online and thought I would ask some questions here. Thanks to all in advance.
I've never really worried about Data Rates until now. I am creating an Apple Motion piece with about 15 different video clips in it. And 1/2 of them have alpha channels.
What exactly is Data Rate? Is it the rate in which video clip data is read (in bits/second) from the Disc and placed into my screen? In Motion- is the Data Rate for video only? What if the clip has audio? If a HDD is simply a plastic disc with a dye read by "1" laser... how come my computer can pull "2" files off the disc at the same time? Is that what data transfer is all about? Is that were RAM comes into play?
I have crunched my clips as much as I can. They are short clips (10-15seconds each). I've compressed them with the Animation codec to preserve the Alpha channel and sized them proportionally smaller (320x240). This dropped their data rate significantly. I've also taken out any audio that was associated with them.
Is data rate what is slowing my system down?
The data rates are all under 2MBs. Some are as low as 230Kbs. They were MUCH higher. However, my animation still plays VERY slowly.
    I'm running a 3GigRam Powerbook Pro 2.33GHz.
I store all my media on a 1TB GRaid Firewire 800 drive. However for portability I'm using a USB 2 smartdisk external drive. I think the speed is 5200rpm.
I'm guessing this all plays into the speed at which motion can function.
If I total my data rate transfer I get somewhere in the vicinity of 11MBs/second. Is that what motion needs for it to play smoothly a 11MBs/second data connection? USB 2.0 is like what 480Mbs/second. So there is no way it's going to play quickly. What if I played it from my hard drive? What is the data rate of my internal HDD?
I guess my overall question is.
#1. Is my thinking correct on all of these topics? Do my bits, bytes and megs make sense. Is my thought process correct?
#2. Barring getting a new machine or buying new hardware. What can I do to speed up this workflow? Working with 15 different video clips is bogging Motion down and becoming frustrating to work with. Even if only 3-4 of the clips are up at a time it bogs things down. Especially if I throw on a glow effect or something.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Data rate DOES make a difference, but I'd say your real problem has more to do with the fact that you're working on a Powerbook. Motion's real time capabilities derive from the capability of the video card. Not the processor. Some cards do better than others, but laptops are not even recommended for running Motion.
To improve your workflow on a laptop will be limited, but there are a few things that you can try.
Make sure that thumbnails and previews are turned off.
Make sure that you are operating in Draft Mode.
Lower the display resolution to half, or quarter.
Don't expect to be getting real time playback. Treat it more like After Effects.
Compressing your clips into smaller Animations does help because it lowers the data rate, but you're still dealing with the animation codec which is a high data rate codec. Unfortunately, it sounds necessary in your case because you're dealing with alpha channels.
The data rate comes into play with your setup trying to play through your USB drive. USB drives are never recommended for editing or Motion work. Their throughput is not consistent enough for video work. a small FW drive would be better, though your real problem as I said is the Powerbook.
If you must work on the powerbook, then don't expect real-time playback. Instead, build your animation, step through it, and do RAM previews to view sections in real time.
    I hope this helps.

What exactly are you seeing on the phone's screen ? If the iTunes icon and cable then the phone is in recovery mode, in which case it's too late to take a new backup or to copy any content off the phone - you will have to connect the phone to your computer's iTunes and reset it back to factory defaults, after which you can restore to the last backup that you took or just resync your content to it

Updated itunes - windows quickly shuts it down and says something about "Data Execution Prevention". I followed the instrucxtions to a dead end. I have re downloaded it twice and used the repair files once but get the same result. It worked fine before I updated it to death.

Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?

  • Problem About Date Format in Dashboard

    Hi All:
I still have problem about date format in dashboard and dashboard prompt. When I use cast(dealdate as date) in dashboard prompt(coloumn formula of deal_date) and filter view(In edit view of filter coloumn formula) Then It converts the date format from mm/dd/yyyy to yyyy-mm-dd But I want format in dd-mm-yyyy.
ANd also one problem more that is when I use cast function in filter coloumn formula then how I give alias to it. Because it shows same like that cast(deal_date as date) on dashboard filter view.
Pluzz help me to solve this problem
    Haroon

Changing the ini files should change the date format. Have you amended the correct instances of the date format? In dbFeatures there is one for every ODBC connection.
    For example in my DBFeatures.INI
    [ DATA_SOURCE_FEATURE = ODBC_300 ]
    DATE_FORMAT = 'dd-mm-yyyy' ;
         TIME_FORMAT = 'hh:mi:ss' ;
         DATE_TIME_FORMAT = 'dd-mm-yyyy hh:mi:ss' ;
IDENTIFIER_QUOTE_CHAR = '"';Also a file on the presentation side in OracleBI \web\Config called localedefinitions.xml.
Inside that there appears to be defaults for localisations - maybe it is possible to amend your locale in the Administration settings of the dashboard.
However, I haven't tried this sorry.

  • Need a information about data base stastics

    hi all
i need information about data base stastics how to implement the data base stastics what are steps involved in implementation and data base stastics and bw stastics bothare same or diffrent.
    any pointers helpful

    Hi,
While you can collect/refresh the DB statistics thru the Performance tab or a Process Chain step, it's probably better to have the DBA schedule the run of BRCONNECT to collect statistics. This provides two key benefits, the statistics collection can be moved to off hours rather than during a load window, which is usually tight in most shops, and the other benefit is that it can collect statistics only on tables that have had significant changes in size. There is really no need to collect stats every day on every table - that is just wasted system effort.
There have been several OS Notes to provide some settings in the recent couple of support packages to control options on statistics collection on ODSs that you might want to review too.
    Pls chk this links;

  • [DME] Document about data mapping for HSBC ifile format (PP,ACH, COS)

    Dear SAP experts,
I'm implementing an automatic payment module through HSBC in an SAP project.
My customer want to streamline their payments to vendors using automated
    payments with HSBC.
I have a document about ifile description which show me information about the
structure and data format in HSBC ifile. I know how to create a DME format tree
but the HSBC format seem to be very complicated, it contains a lots of fields and
a lots of them I don't really understand.
I'm sure that many of you have done this before. Do you have any document about
data mapping for HSBC file format? I have a lot of fields leaving undone so any
relevant documents will be very helpful for me.
    Hope you can help.
    Thank in advance.
    Maxielight.

    Hello Maxielight,
I too am working on this IFILE format for transmitting to HSBC for Indian INR payments & am using DMEE.
I'm struggling with a couple of fields in relation to PP.
1st  is the 'Record Count' in FIle header, which is just a count of the total number of lines in the file.
2nd is the 'Total number of instructions in batch' in Batch Header section, because I'm trying to count using aggreation via reference node id, but because the Batch Header is level 1 & I need to wait for '2nd Party Details for PP' which is at a lower level I always get an error when I run the check with error 'aggregation not permitted because of field I'm using is lower level, or they are not in the same segment.
I've also tried creating a new segment with 'Delay output' but still get similiar error about the nodes being in differenet segments.
How did you get past this issue?
We are not using COS, instead we will print our own cheques in the office so sorry I cannot offer advise there.
Any advice you can offer would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    5. What is PARENT_COMPONENT,FILED_NAME,FIELD_CLASS,CONTENT_TYPE in  Data Cleanse OUT POT TAB.
I tried using "EnglishNorthAmericaDataCleanse" transform with NAME_OR_FIRM_LINE1.  When I ran the job I got below warning message and my job was success full nut status it shown as failed.
    Warning message:
"Trasform Data Cleanse is unable to retrieve cleansing packages from Cleansing Package Builder. Only local cleansing packages are available. Please make me understand, why did I get above message.
    Thanks in Advance ...

    Hello,
Cleansing package is a reference file that contains content and rules around person, firm, title, phone data and so on.  Cleansing package used to be referred to as dictionaries.  Directories are usually referred to address reference data or address directories.  The input, output and option tabs are similar to other Data Quality transforms.  For detail information on what each of the input fields and output fields are and how the options work can be found in the Data Services’ Designer Guide (http://help.sap.com/bods).
The warning message you are getting is stating that Data Services is not able to connect to the server to check to see if you have made modifications to the PERSON_FIRM cleansing package.  You are not required to make any changes to the PERSON_FIRM cleansing package, but can change rules or content based on your organizational rules.  If you want to make changes you will need to install SAP Information Steward.  If you would like to install SAP Information Steward you can find documentation for installation on the Help Portal, http://help.sap.com/bods, along with some great Videos.
You can also find some great Data Services Product Tutorials on the SAP Community Network, at http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-54115.

    Hello,
You have posted a question that is related to system transports. Unfortunately this category is not related to these kind of questions. SAP TM deals with logistics in the real world - moving pallets, containers, loading trucks, etc.
To learn more about SAP TM please visit [http://service.sap.com/scm-tm|http://service.sap.com/scm-tm]

Follow the steps to troubleshoot security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
There may be third-party software that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your registry. An incorrectly set default packet size can cause these errors. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance or follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

    Hi Lin,
    Split the string,
    DAta : yr type char4,

  • DID YOU KNOW?? - ABOUT DATE TIME CONVERTERS??

    Hi All,
    DID YOU KNOW??
That the Creator IDE provides a set of converters that you can use to convert component data. If your input field is for numbers, then you most likely need a converter. Converters are also good for formatting dates, times, and currency values. The standard converters, which you can use are located in the Converters section of the Components Palette.
    The Date Time Converter
A Date Time Converter Converts between java.lang.String values in your component properties and data types of java.util.Date. The conversion usually applies to the property of a component used to display values and to pick up values entered by users, such as the text property of a Text Field component.
An example is binding a JavaServer Faces component to to a database column of type DATE. When you bind a component, the IDE normally identifies the data type for you and sets the appropriate converter when you establish a binding to the value property. However, you can also add this converter manually by setting the component's converter property.
    * Note: If you are using an Oracle database, use the SQL Timestamp converter instead.

did you know that sqlTimestamp converter returns value of java.sql.Date type if you are using sun's oracle jdbc driver. It will return the correct type if you use oracle's jdbc driver. Not sure why this happen, though. Bug?

  • Report based on custom Query - Question about Data Source

    Hello,
I am trying to create Crystal reports (EBO R3.1, Oracle 11g Database, CR2008) based on custom queries. Tried using different kinds of Data Sources but getting stuck once I export them to Infoview.
    1. Using Oracle Server: This method works fine on my local & Infoview. But since I have lot of reports, I do not want the DB username/password associated to the report. I neither want BO to prompt username/pwd to my user.
    2. Using ODBC(RDO):
Again, works fine on my local. Once I export to Infoview, it fails with this error: "Failed to open the connection"
Which makes sense, because the DSN is created on my local machine and not on the server.
How and what do I create on the server, so that the reports run?
I do not know if using ODBC(RDO) is even the right way for creating custom SQL reports.
I have been reading about Business Views, but not clear on how good they work.
My goal is to create multiple reports, using custom SQL queries which use some kind of connection to the database that can be managed on the
server in one place, and used by multiple reports.
Can any of you please help me here
    Thanks,
    Sowmya.
    Edited by: SBat22 on Apr 13, 2011 5:58 PM

Thanks for moving it to the right forum!!
But, if I setup in CMC, a default username/password that the report needs....what would happen if my password changes?
I would need to go to each and every report and update the password.
I am looking for using one common "connection" for multiple reports. So that, when passwords change, all I update is in one central location.
    Can anyone please help!
    Thanks,
    Sowmya.
