About developing Portal applucation...

Hello sirs,
I am a beginner in Portal development. I am now working with "<b>Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver 2004 Slim Edition</b>" Can i create a simple portal application using this version? or should i have to download any other version of netweaver?
How can we develop Portal application in Netweaver developer Studio available with Sneak Preview? Can you please forward any links of the tutorials about configuring a sample application in netweaver developer studio?
What is Portal Content Studio is it an IDE like netweaver?

Yes.

NetWeaver is NOT an IDE. NetWeaver is the name of the whole actual SAP platform. NWDS is the Java IDE (NetWeaver Developer Studio).
The portal content studio is the main place within the portal to create Roles, Worksets, Pages, iView etc. See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/df/bedcb2076511d7b84500047582c9f7/frameset.htm
Within NWDS, you have wizards to create a Portal Application (File - New - Project - Portal Application).

I strongly reccomend NOT using 6.0. The latest version is 6.3. There are lot of bug fixes and enhancements between 6.0 and 6.3.

Hi all
I am new to 9iAS portal. I would like to know how to start to learn and develop portals using 9iAS, any books hints..
And also I would like to know what is PDK??...Using PDK can we develop portals without installing Oracle 9iAS..Where can I find details regarding these??.

The best start will be to take a look to PortalCenter Web site for overview of the features and benefits of OracleAS Portal.
For development perspective you can use PortalStudio, this is the place where you will find all the information -sample,technical note, how tos, ...- about the PDK.

Developing portal using Weblogic portal 10.3 or weblogic workshop 10.3

I am new to portal development. I see that one can develop portal using Oracle weblogic workshop 10.3 which has many features including Java Page Flow and Java controls. I am wondering what extra features one can get using Weblogic portal 10.3. The Weblogic platform 10.3 which I use does not have weblogic portal, it has weblogic AS and workshop. Do I need weblogic portal install now or in future while developing portal. I am trying to develop a portal from scratch. Any input will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Some suggesssions,
While installing the weblogic you need select weblogic portal option also. Only for weblogic different installation exe file with portal different exe file.
To get the weblogic portal server and portal work shop with weblogc you need to down load weblogic portal 10.3 exe file.

Log in with your developer account, then head to Member Center > iOS Dev Center and on the right hand side it should say iOS Provisioning Portal

Azure API Management developer portal runtime error

Hi,
I'm trying to use the Microsoft Azure API Management functionality just announced in the TechEd 2014 americas.
I was able to create my namespace for Azure API Management in the Azure Mgmt Portal.
But now, when I click on the Management Console or Developer Portal, I got a runtime error (ASP.Net Runtime Error).
I tried from a PC where I'm not authenticated in Azure and it works until I reach the login page, and then I got this Runtime Error again and again.
My subscription is a MSDN subscription.
Any ideas or workarounds here?

The problem still exists but it appears only when I'm authenticated.
For example, I open the Windows Azure Management Portal with my admin account, goes to the API Management and click on the Management Console. I'm redirected to the https://middleway.portal.azure-api.net/admin URL and here I got a Runtime Error ASP.Net...
Strange no?

About developer programs: What is the most suitable?

Dear members,
I would have some suggestions about developer programs. In particular, I would know if, once an application has been developed, it is necessary to pass through the AppStore or not.
Does this mechanism also apply to company in general?

The situation is the following:
I have to develop an application for a client and I would not to pass through the AppStore. But I haven't read anywhere how to do that. Obviously, I'm looking for a legal way to do this.
If it is possible to do this, does Apple need to certificate my application (with the term certificate I meant that I have to send them the app and wait for their positive response) or can I skip this procedure?

Problem logging to room with adobe ID - redirects to developer portal

First of all: I have used the service ca 9 months ago with great success but have not used since.
Anyway I have a meeting room and I have problems accessing the room with adobe ID via the room link & browser.
I can easily log in as guest vua browser & room URL. But while logging as admin the browser automatically redirects me to the developer portal instead of entering the room.So I have no access to the room as admin, but only as guest. This seems not right. Am I missing something here??
I can of course change the guest to room admin via the SDK manager, but I need to enter the room as simple as possible via browser as admin to share video-audio.I rmembrer that it worked really easy earlier.

Yes I am trying to put Room URL's to browser address bar.
I have room created via the LCCS SDK Navigator Room console.
The room console provides me the room URL like:
https://collaboration.adobelivecycle.com/accountname/roomname
While putting the URL into browswer Address bar I can easily log into the room as guest.
But using the same LCCCS username/password I am redirected to the LCCCS portal instead of entering the room as owner. Earlier it used to log me into the room as owner to be able to share my video/audio.
I can of course log in to the room as guest and upgrade the guest user to room owner via the LCCS SDK Navigator Room Console - and be able to share the video / audio after that.
bottom line I need now-and-then a solution to broadcast live audio-video to my customers.

Reusing of custom developed portal components

Hi, what are the main rules and methods when you want to reuse custom developed portal components from scratch.
We have at least 10 components that will use the same skeleton when we develop them. An example would be a portal application that has 2 states in common with other three components, but the third state is different.
I hope I was clear.

One method would be to have all components within the same par file. This will allow you to have a generic constants.java file which contains all of the available states.
Another method would be to use the SharingReference property as part of the component. This would mean creating the initial component with all of the available states. Make sure that this component is shared. Then, every other component can share the classes of the initial component. This works in a similar fashion to using the HTMLb service and classes.

Developer Portal Still Down. Any ETA?

I got the email from Apple stating that they were hacked and yada yada. I understand that the are taking their response seriously, but in the meanwhile, I cannot access the Developer Portal for iOS or Mac Mavericks for DAYS now.
Any idea when we can expect that to be resolved??
