Hi again dasuncj,
Thank you for the quick reply!
So that I can better diagnose the error message with your specific brand of HP Pavilion 06, I will need to know both the model and product number. This can be found by using this video below:
Please re-post with the necessary information, this way I will be able to research this further for you. I look forward to your reply!

  • Dc7900 crashes and has display driver error

    Hello,
Just bought this off lease  unit and the computer keeps crashing. When it doesnt crash it has issues with the display at times and recovers saying that there was a display driver error and that it was recovered.
Any idea on how to fix this? The comp was originally visa but now has windows 7 32bit business on it. My action center for windows 7 says on the maintenance tab that my intel graphics driver has stopped working what does this mean and how do I fix it?
    Thanks!

  • Nvidia Display Driver Error

New T61-CTO system, Vista 32 with Nvidia Quadro NVS140M that is not even a week old.
The system is very unstable, crashing almost daily with a display driver error.  About half the time it is able to recover and I get the following message, "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding but has recovered.....".  The other half the computer crashes to blue screen or just freezes with a corrupted display and I am forced to hard-power-off to restart.  About 75% of the time the error occurs at startup, but sometimes just randomly while working.
There is lots of info about this driver problem online but mostly for different display adaptors on desktop systems.  For the record I have the following display driver installed: 7.15.11.5685 and it is dated 12/10/07.  Nvidia does not provide support for this display adaptor and refers you to the system manufacturer.  Strangely, the driver on the Lenovo site is 7.15.11.0145 and dated 7/12/07, not sure why my system shipped with a driver that is not listed on the support site.
Any information on resloving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Hi WillThePill, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!
I come up with a newer driver version 7.15.11.7693 2009/01/13 on the Lenovo support site:

  • Have a Sony Viao E series and get an "imcompatible display driver" error message

Get an "Incompatible Display Driver" error message when attempting to use Adobe Premiere Elements 12 on a Sony Vaio E series laptop.
    How to solve this problem?
    Thanks

I Googled, and Sony says that is a discontinued model, so I can't find a specification page
Amazon does have a couple models, and BOTH say motherboard integrated Intel graphics adapter
That makes me think the laptop discussed here has Intel AND AMD graphics adapters
To the OP (Original Poster) Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Hardware and Sound and then select Device Manager... In Device manager you click the + sign to the left of Display Adapters... and see if 2 are listed

  • Satellite T130-02F - Display Driver Error

    Hi There,
I just purchased the Satellite T130-02F and after choosing 32bit running system I had the power connected to charge battery up and then started to get "display driver errors" where the screen would flash black and then flash back on. I've checked device manager and driver details, the drive is upto date and as far as I can see is the correct driver. I've searched sites to see if there ar other drivers out there, but its up to date.
I haven't installed anything extra on the computer yet and find I get the error more regularly on the battery rather than power which concerns me. The computer is less than 24hrs old.
    Any advice?
Mobile Intel (R) display chip set.
    Windows 7 installed 32bit.

    Hi
In your case I would try reinstalling the display driver. You can find the latest version on the Toshiba website:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
After this make sure that the newest BIOS version is installed. You can download it on the Toshiba website too.
If nothing works your only chance is an authorized service provider. It seems to be a hardware problem and must be checked from professional people.

  • Photoshop CS4 Display Driver Error

I have a user who is using Photoshop CS4 on a Dell Optiplex 745, with onboard Intel video. Since I read that Photoshop now uses OpenGL heavily in its operations, and also understanding that OpenGL support is pretty bad on Intels integrated video, we put an Nvidia GeForce8400 card in the PCIExpress slot, and loaded the latest drivers from Nvidia (version 182.50 currently). The user reports he periodically gets the attached error message, "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturers website for the latest software"... Knowing that some other OpenGL-enabled software is picky about what version of Nvidia graphics drivers are installed, I wonder if this is what we're seeing here...  Anybody have some insight on this?
    Dave

Did you disable the onboard graphics in the BIOS?

  • "GPU enhancements/display driver" error with NVidia GeForce 8600 GTS

I am currently evaluating a demo of Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended. I am using a NVidia GeForce 8600 GTS video card. When I open the application, I get this error:
Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disables GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturer's website for the latest software.
GPU enhancements can be enabled in the Performance panel of Preferences.
Here's the thing - the NVidia graphics driver I'm using is current! It's version 195.62. And here are the specifications of my video card (which is about a few years old).
I am using Windows XP Home 32-bit SP3 with 2GB of DDR2 memory. Processor is AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+.
I've read over the functionality that this error message affects, and I'm not sure I understand it. If my video card is using its most current driver, what the heck am I to do? How badly will this handicap my Adobe Photoshop experience? (For reference, I plan on not doing that much using the 3D capabilities of Photoshop - but it may be interesting one day.)
Also, one bug I'm experiencing is that the Layers window is present, but its contents don't appear unless I click on it.
I'm not sure if I'm open to buying a new video card just to satisfy my Photoshop needs. Any help is much appreciated in overcoming this error and enabling FULLY-operational functionality of Photoshop CS4. Thanks!

Here is a link that may help with old GPU's. Also ensure before you update the drivers that opengl is turned off otherwise PS will use the old drivers.

What version of Premiere Elements do you have and on what computer operating system is it running? For now assuming some version of Windows.
Have you assured that your video card/graphics card is up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of that video card/graphics card?
If so, have you attempted to delete the BadDrivers.txt file?
Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit path to it is
    Local Disk C
    Program Data
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    XX.X (XX.X = version number if version 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, or 11)
in that XX.X Folder is the BadDrivers.text file that you delete. Make sure that you are working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.
If you have Premiere Elements 12, then stop in the sequence of Folders at the Premiere Elements Folder and look in it for a file named BadDrivers.txt file.
Unless you have 2 instead of 1 video card, the above should correct the situation.
Please let us know the outcome. Answers will be in the details.
    Thanks.

Then the screen in OuickTime widow goes black and Quicktime won't play anything until you stop and restart QuickTime.
This was a brand new install with no previous versions of QuickTime or iTune installed.

  • Windows 7 display driver error on Satellite L300D

Hey guys, I have recently upgraded the OS on my Satellite L300D (PSLC8A), from Vista 32bit to Win7 32bit, but I need a better driver for the graphics card, an ATI Radeon 3100 256MB, and every time I try and run either the Win7 driver from the ATI website, or even the graphics drivers from the Toshiba websites (Ive tried the Vista display driver, the display driver for the Satellite L300D-ST3501 from the European website for windows 7 display driver etc etc) and every time I try, I get the same message, it goes through the entire process, then says it fails, always failing at the same part, at the ATI Display Driver installation
Am I trying the wrong driver? Is there not one out for my laptop for 7? I dont quite understand, and any help would be appreciated
Also like to point out, that Ive attempted to allow it to tell me when Win7 finds something new and needs permission, and have tried running *every* time in admin mode.

    Hi
First of all you should find out what graphic card is built-in.
Install an free hardware diagnostic tool. You could use Everest Home Edit. for example.
This would help you to get more details about your GPU.
After that you could investigate a little bit what Toshiba notebooks have been equipped with the same graphic card chip.
I noticed that many series use the same devices like the same graphic card or chipset
Anyway. The Toshiba US driver page contains many Win 7 drivers you will find also some Win 7 drivers on Toshiba European driver page
Download the ATI driver for a notebook which has been equipped with the same graphic chip and you would get the compatible one!
Then install the driver in device manager! Yes, go to device manager and use the advanced installation this allows you to point to the ATI driver files.
    This installation procedure should work

  • Display driver error while playing games on Satellite P100-387 PSPA3E

    Hi,
I have a Satellite P-100 387 PSPA3E notebook (with Nvidia 7600 GO 256 MB) and no matter what game I play I get a stop error-blue screen of death all the time and must restart.
It happens while I play either "Command & Conquere-Tiberium Wars" or "Warcraft III" (which can run on ANY low end machine).Did the BIOS update and got the latest display driver from Toshiba support. Nothing. Also, Ive tryed ALL the driver versions from Nvidia and from LaptopVideo2go.com with modded inf-s.
Dont know what else to do so I post here before contacting Toshiba. I have a valid warranty on the machine. Running XP MediaCentar which came with it.
    THX in advance!

I am heading to bed in a minute, but will look at driver details tomorrow.
I seem to remember that the latest BIOS update improved something to do with graphics.
Yes, I've got the 7600 go graphics card.
You have good ventilation to the laptop? (i.e. you don't have it running on a deep pile carpet, or on a big deep duvet or something?)
I tried the Nvidia drivers too but they dont work, it has to be the drivers from Toshiba.
Suggest you do a system restore, and if that does not help re-flash your BIOS
The link to the driver updates was good, but not for the laptop.

  • Display driver error Windows 7

I recently installed a new hard drive in my T61 and did a clean installation of Windows 7.   My laptop now stalls a bit and the screen goes black and then the screen returns to normal and a message pops up informing me that the display driver has an error but fixed itself.  This keeps happening and I'm wondering if there's anything that can be done to fix it?  Also, my cursor is skipping around a bit.  I'm not sure if these problems are related...
I made sure to update the drivers and BIOS with ThinkVantage Update 4.0 so I'm not sure if maybe there is an additional driver that I need to install.  Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello,
Under Microsoft Windows 7, software is normally uninstalled from the Programs and Features applet (filename: APPWIZ.CPL) in the Control Panel.
These days, having the correct device drivers for your video chip (and having them correctly installed) is more of a requirement than an option, since so many features of recent versions of Windows depend upon having correctly functioning video (i.e., being able to display 24-bit color, support for higher resolutions, Aero Glass support and so forth).
If you are uncomforable or unsure of the exact steps, perhaps a more PC-savvy friend could assist you, or you could call Lenovo tech support and get a second opinion or a walk-through on how to reinstall the video device driver software for your ThinkPad T61.

  • Display Driver Error (with up to date drivers)

    Hello!
I've got a Lenovo Thinkpad R500 running Windows Vista.
I seem to be having an issue with my display driver. Everytime I open Adobe Photoshop, I get an error that photoshop has encountered an error with my display driver, and it does not display images properly (they seem to be very low resolution).
I checked my drivers, and everything is up to date. I even ran Windows Update just to be sure.
Can anyone provide any feedback on this?

    Hi Chris,
Thank you for your reply. I've done the Windows update and also gone into my device manager to check for updates. Everything says it is up to date.
If I set the Photoshop GPU mode to basic, will things still appear correctly? Also... how do I do that?
Steve - I've got enough VRAM. As far as the driver, it's the Mobile Intel (R ) 4 Chipset series. Is there another way to update this driver?
I guess I'm wondering why my driver seems up to date in all aspects, but Photoshop (CS 6) is telling me there is an issue with the driver.

Thanks for the update on you progress.
Since you appear to have the latest version of your video card driver installed, please delete the BadDrivers.txt file as mentioned by me in post 7 of your thread and copied into this post as well for your convenience.
In Windows 7 or 8 64 bit, its location is
    Local Disc C
    Program Data
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    11.0
and in the 11.0 Folder is the BadDrivers.txt file that you delete.
Be sure to be working with Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drive active so you can see the complete path.
The rationale of this can be found back in the days of Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 and has been a life saver at times for users of other versions with this same type of issue (after updating video card driver et al)
