About "error DTP"

Hello Gurus,
my DTP is in the process chain. set in DTP is " valid records update, no reporting (request red)" , but no " error DTP " created. my
question is :
when some records errors occure, this DTP process stoped in the process chain due to these errors. after I correct these errors in
the PSA. I repair this DTP process in the process chain. I think all operation mentioned above will resolve loading problem. why do we
need "error DTP" for error handling?

at DTP level u select that option if all the records are correct then only the report symbol will be green and it is avilble for reporting
and even though if u create the error stack DTP it up dates which ever the corrected records those will be updated and those error stack DTP will be green the earlier request will be red.
Valid records update reporting possible ( request Green)
when we use this option at dtp level which ever the correct records those will be updated and request will be green and those records are avialble for reporting and which ever the records are wrong those records will be moved to the error stack and do the changes in Error stack and run the error DTP.
now the earlier records and error DTP records will be avaialble.

Hi,
        Can any body give the brief idea of error handling.And what the option containing in the error handling tabs like
1. NO Update , No Reporting.
2. Update Valid Records only ,Reporting not possible(Request red).
3. Update Valid Records only ,Reporting possible(Request green).
          Is these options works above the error tolerance limit or below the error tolerance limit.
      like        Error Tolerance Limit   =   1000.
How can i Test it practically in Navigation.Plz send the detailed information about this.

Hi,
     1 Valid Records Update, No Reporting (Request Red): When you select this option, you tell the system to isolate erroneous records in a data packet from the data load and to load the valid records into the data target. The data upload request remains in red status in the data target and is unavailable for reporting. With this option, the data administrator can check the error records and then manually turn the uploaded request to green, making the data available for reporting.
u2022     2 Valid Records Update, Reporting Possible (Request Green): When you select this option, you tell ETL to make the valid data available immediately for reporting in the data target.
u2022     No Update, No Reporting: When you select this option, you tell the system to suspend data processing to the data targets if it encounters an erroneous record, preventing further data from loading into the data target. The system keeps scanning the remaining data packages for erroneous records.
Another important aspect of error handling is the process to deal with the erroneous records. In SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0, the error handling process identifies the erroneous record from the original data upload request and isolates it by storing the records in a separate container called the error stack. After you correct or modify the erroneous records, you can then load them to the original intended data target by using a special DTP called the error DTP. This helps to ensure data consistency.

Error DTP and error stack

Hi all,
I have a question about the error handling in other companies.
In our subsidiary we look each day on each error stack to find wrong entries,
Correct them and start manually the error dtp.
1. How do you handle this problem?
2. Is there a report to look for the error stack?
3. Is there a possibility to inform a user via email when there are entries in the stack?

Hi Dirk,
SAP offers the Report RSD_ANALYZE_ERRORLOG to have a closer look on your errorstacks but don't be to optimistic about it. I implemented a DB-View on the underlying Tables RSBERRORLOG, RSBKREQUEST and RSBKDTP_H. On top put an generic extractor and you can use it as a DatSource for any InfoProvider with normal Bex Queries. After that you can publish it via email in the normal way.

Error DTP Urgent

Hi Gurus,
This proplem is on production system so, any help is appreciated.
One error appeared while executing the DTP. The error handling for the dtp is Valid Records Update, No Reporting (Request Red).
I corrected the error in the error stack and I created an error DTP. I executed the DTP and it has status green.
The problem is that the status of the previous DTP (the normal delta one) remaines RED. therefore, when I try to run it again, I get the well known error message:
"Data has to be updated to the data target of
this DTP in serialPrevious request has status
''Red''This request must be deleted or repaired
before a new request can be started "
Is there any other action that I should take? I have read KJ's blog and I cannot find anything else.

HI Roberto,
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I am loading Master data so I don't believe deleting the request is an option. The red status DTP has loaded all the records in the PSA minus one (the errore). I was able to load the corrected record but the status of the previous DTP is still red.
I wouldn't like to change the update mode because the DTP was created by another colleague and i don't know what might have been the reasons for his choice.
Is there any other way to slve this problem?

Changing update mode in Error DTP

Hi Gurus,
I have some issues with data in PSA. I am trying to solve it using Error DTP.
While Executing DTP one record failed to load giving bad request. Now i created an error DTP. By default the extraction mode is Delta.
DTP extraction Mode->Full
Error DTP Extraction Mode -> Delta; How can i make it full. If i amm trying to change it, The option is disabled.

In my system original DTP is full and when i create error DTP, i got error DTP extraction mode is full.
Yes you are right, it is disabled.can you check the update mode of your original DTP once.
once the error DTP is created, we can not change the update of it.

I have a question regarding DTP error handling. I have erronious data on PSA, now i am correcting data in PSA and loading to ODS and activating.As it is a full load, I want to keep these records in an another table like error PSA in 3.x. How it is possible in BI. I have created Error DTP which will post error records in Error stack and dont let the load fail. But it is not working.

HI,
On the Update tab page in the data transfer process (DTP), the error handling settings allow you to control how the system responds if errors occur in the data records when data is transferred from a DTP source to a DTP target.
These settings were previously made in the Info Package. When using data transfer processes, Info Packages only write to the PSA. Therefore, error handling settings are no longer made in the Info Package but in the data transfer process.
Settings for Error Handling
For a data transfer process (DTP), you can specify how you want the system to respond when data records contain errors. If you activate error handling, the records with errors are written to a request-based database table (PSA table). This is the error stack. You can use a special data transfer process, the error DTP, to update the records to the target.
Temporary storage is available after each processing step of the DTP request. This allows you to determine the processing step in which the error occurred.
"Repairing" with Error DTP
You create an error DTP for an active data transfer process on the Update tab page. You run it directly in the background or include it in a process chain so that you can schedule it regularly in the context of your process chain. The error DTP uses the full update mode to extract data from the error stack (in this case, the source of the DTP) and transfer it to the target that you have already defined in the data transfer process.

Conversion of Logical System name for "Error DTP" is not working

Hi All,
I have created a DTP and corresponding "Error DTP" for handling the Error records in development.
But when i move the both the DTP's to Consilidation systems,
DTP is getting converted to the consolidation R/3 systems (Example: TQS).
But the "Error DTP" is not getting converted with the source systems as R/3 cosolidation systems (TQS) and remains as source systems as Development R/3 system(TDS).
We are in BI 7.0 version with SP level of 13.Can anyone help how to resolve this issue? or any OSS note available to resolve this issue.

Just started yesterday while trying to copy files from hard drive to thumb drive. Repeated Error Code - 36. Happened a lot but no to every file I tried to copy. Started again today when I tried to copy from my Drop Box to a thumb drive. Macbook Pro is a year and a half old - don't tell me it's toast!

If it's the same thumb drive it could be the thumb drive is toast.
What format is/are these drive(s)? If FAT then it could be a problem with your filenames.

It is common to have a reading on a disconnected channel. Generally speaking for measurement devices, un-connected voltage inputs tend to float around to either the positive or negative supply rail of the measuring device and current inputs will float around the 0 mA range. This is due both to device design and the real world behavior of components as opposed to the ideal behavior model. Some devices such as the FP-TC-120, will have circuitry to cause un-connected outputs to go to a specific level (in the case of the FP-TC-120, unconnected outputs will always read full scale of the range).
When you say you are getting a reading on that channel, is it a reading that is close to mininum scale, or is it a reading in the middle of the
scale, i.e. 10.2 mA? If the channel is not reading close to minimum scale, it is possible that the channel has been damaged. On the FP-AI-111, you can use a DMM to measure between the Iin pin and any of the C or Com pins. First disconnect any external wiring to the channel, then hook in the DMM. The resistance (within the accuracy of the DMM) should be exactly 100 Ohms. If the resistance is greater than 100 Ohms, then the channel was damaged by an over-current condition that exceeded the published specifications of the module (30 mA). In that case, the module will have to be sent to National Instruments for repair.

TS1424 What about error -1202?

What about error -1202?
I've had problems with Win 7 64bit installations spanning iTunes 10 to now iTunes 11.
Connecting to the store generates -1202 unexpected errors.
I can't seem to find clear definition to what error code -1202 is...

I run across the same problem upgrading to ios 5. I finnally took my phone to future shop (totally away from my server, wifi, laptop and its firewalls etc) and the upgrade is now installed. Last night I tried uploading ios 5 on my wifes phone (purchased at exactly the same place and time as mine and it worked perfect the first time, go figure. The only difference was i was running windows vista on my laptop and my wife has windows 7 on her laptop who knows if this has some effect on the upgrade.

Main diffrence is BW works on multidimentional model or using OLAP for data stagging
and r3 works on OLTP.
BW reports seams like R3 ALV reports but BW reports are advance and used by higher management persons who want there data suddenly .
BW reports took data from diffrent diffrent tools and generate very user friendly reports such as DB connect UD connect and Flat file .
basically BW reports used for alalysis purpose for quick dission in R3 report u cannot see past data but in bw report u can easly pull data from r3 and stored it into cube for future use its main point .
Aggrigate : Thes are used for performance after using aggrigate your query performance incress there are 3 thyes of aggrigate and those aggrigate play main role in performance issues,
DTP are used for data stagging in BW3.5 its done by PSA ..

Delete row in Error DTP

Hi,
We are using Error DTP's.
Is it possible to delete a single record from an Error DTP?
Can somebody tell me how?

Once data fails you can see those records in error stock
open that errostock and select the record which one you dont to delete and then click on save button
later execute the error dtp
now it will only process the records which are you not deleted,

What are the precise steps to create an error DTP?
I tried this by going to my DTP > Update tab > click on button "Creating Error DTPs" > provide package and transport number
BUT, I get error:
"Invalid call sequence for interfaces when recording changes"
