About exercise 3, file missing

Hi Some one,
First i must say this video is awesome.
And i am coming with it for couple days.
But there is a file missing. at below day3, exercise 3
"Exercise: ColdFusion Version: Using RemoteObject to send
data to the server"
I couldnot locate the EX9_CF.zip, which is a coldfusion
version solution.
And for me this is the only way to practice remoteObject
method. Because i am using a MAC OS.
Thank you if someone can fix it or give out an alter
solution.

While applying patch i errror about some driver file missing, i checked the location and file was not their, i traversed throught various top and many folders are not their in product tops, even if folder is their files are not their, is their any way i can create driver files now. I am on 11.5.10.2 on solaris 10 with 10.2.0.3 db. Patch can be anyone. Basically under product_top/admin of application tier template,driver folder is missing, id their any way these files can be generated?How do you know that the file/directory is missing? Have you compared it with some other instance?

Music files missing/hidden in folder on network hdd

Hi all,
I have setup my home net work with a iMac (mountain Lion) backed up by a TimeCapsule and at the back of the TimeCapsule I have a 2TB networked external HDD. My iTunes library is located on this HDD, I take care not to start up iTunes before this networked external HDD has propoerly mounted to avoid any conflicts with links to my itunes library files and folders.
The other day I noticed a few missing files (the dreaded exclamation mark !), not too bad a figured, I located a few manually but reached some that does my head in...... Out of the whole album there are two files "missing", the other ones play as they should. When I try and locate the missing files the folder comes up empty.....
I have even checked the songs that do play in the same album....they dont show up either, even though they still play in iTunes (yes, they are all located at the same location). The album was originally ripped from a CD and I don't use iTunes Match or Genius.
I have tried to find the files by:
1."open in finder" - files missing / whole folder empty
2."through finder and located the drive and folder" - files missing / folder empty
3."copy file location from "get info" and paste into "go to folder" - the file temporarily appears in the finder window but dissapears shortly after / folder yet again empty.
4. I check the folder "get info" from my finder and it says "zero bytes"
5. I can't use Search because its on an external HDD and there fore not indexed
6.I have tried to copy the folder to the desktop but still shows empty....
7. I have tried to "organise" my library, still no change.
What the..xxx..is happening..?
From what I can gather, the files are actually there but not visible through the finder window (even though the folder appears to be 0 bytes).
The problem being that I can't locate my missing files because I cant see them any more......
Am I missing something (like show hidden folder on a Mac) or has it got to do with anything else...? How can I fix it..? I have found posts that relate to windows users forced their W7 to show hidden folders but nothing yet on Mac.....

I was lucky to be able to use a PC, that after trying numerous times actually read the external hdd, I quickly copied all files over to a backup hdd and recovered all files. After that I ended up in contact with Western Digital about the incident and they recommended to completely erase (7-pass erase) of the hdd, which ended up taking over 5 days to do. They gave me no reason as to "Why" it would have happened but if I erase and reformatted of the hdd and the problem reoccurred they recommended to get the unit replaced.
I was lucky to recover all my files.....keep trying on different computers if you can, and copy what you can get hold of. The 7-pass erase will delete pretty much every trace of information on the hdd with no chance of recovery.
So far since the incident its been running ok but I not longer trust the hdd to be stable. Not a simple nor quick process / solution I'm afraid.

Once you have recovered your files (or as many as you can get hold of) and ready to erase the hdd:
(THIS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR DATA, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP BEFORE PROCEEDING)
Connect the drive directly to the Mac, open Disk Utility.
Select the drive and click on the "Erase" tab Select the "7-times zeros" to completely erase the drive.
Once the erase have completed format the drive to your selection.

Raw files missing in import direct from canon eos 350D

Hi,
I realise that files missing for import is fairly common, but I still haven't been able to find a reason. I can load jpg and cr2 from a folder no problem, but when I attach the camera, using the latest canon WIA driver on windows xp, the window that comes up shows only the jpgs on my camera. I realise that a workaround is to get the files on the pc and import from there, but I don't have my canon software anymore to do that, and besides, I'm using the trial version to decide whether or not to buy. Is this a LR problem? a canon one? and is there a fix in the pipeline?
Apart from that, really like the product.

There was a problem with version 1.0 about importing JPG's and RAW's because although they have a different suffix i.e. JPG or CR2 they have the same file name. LR, as primarily a RAW converter sees these as one and the same file and only imported the RAW file. The work round for this was to rename the JPG's slightly outside of LR using a name that you could yourself identify with the original RAW e.g. RAW 0000001.crs with the JPG being renamed to 0000001A.JPG followed by Importing. I had thought they had cured this with the update but as I don't shoot JPG + RAW haven't tried this for myself. What's strange about your post though, is that if memory serves me correctly the problem lay not in the Importing of the RAW file but in the JPG file as described above. Perhaps someone with more up to date knowledge of this will jump in here.
The importing directly from the camera I referred to earlier was a known problem with Canon cameras - perhaps something to do with the folder structure although I couldn't swear to it. Hence the reference to using a Card Reader. In any event downloading from a Card Reader is faster as I'm sure you know.
If you right click and explore the Card you'll find that not all of the files are empty. The top folder will be something like DCM and by double clicking on this top folder it will open up the others.

Feedback about glitches, misbehaviors errors, missing features, bugs

I couldn't find a thread where I could submit feedback about glitches, misbehaviors errors, missing features, bugs (and things of that nature) encountered when using Edge and needed a place where I could collect them writing about them as they happen and before I forget.
This is not a whishlist, rather simply a place where I'd like to send feedback and hopefully get clarifications on something that may be a non working feature, erratic behavior or a bug.
That said here is the first one of them:
Where: Edge Animate > Library>Assets
What: Impossible to remove from the list the folder and/or assets
When: Always
How: After adding asset (add an image to the composition) remove the image from the composition. Then if you would like to remove that asset, there isn't an option to do so. The contextual menu only offer one choice "Reveal in Finder" (on a Mac) which is basically reading the path of the asset and opening the containing folder for the selected asset.
Only removing the file or folder from the location (which Edge has stored as a path) would yield a removal from the list of the Library>Asset The item will be removed from the list when, upon right clicking and selecting "Reveal in Finder" Edge will not find the asset and ask the user if they want to reload the content of that list which basically will refresh the pointers and if the asset won't be found then the entry for it will be removed from the list. (Quite a cumbersome hoop-jumping just to remove an asset from the list)
Why: Users wanting to manage and update the content of the Assets may want to see some listed but may want to ignore other entries that have been replaced with different assets, but they want to keep the files within the folder where they were originally placed.
For instance adding images 001.jpg through 100.jpg and later removing all odd images or even ones from the composition, the Library will still list them in the assets unless removed from that folder "physically" and placing them somewhere else doing an "update" in the library pane later as explained above. Leaving the unused assets in the list when not necessary adds to clutter and having to perform a manual workaround to update the UI isn't very efficient
(a minor missing feature... not a feature request to start this feedback thread)
Hope this helps keep track of issues, but if there's a better way/system, will be glad to use that instead.

Bug Reporting (is there anywhere users can provide feedback about bugs/program's glitches?)
Not knowing where to list what would appear to be bugs/glitches I'll keep adding them here and hopefully someone at the Edge Team will look into it eventually as time allows
Issue: Min W in Symbols' stage property won't stick to percentage.
To reproduce behavior:
- Create symbol,
- Double click to edit created symbol,
- When in Symbol Edit mode, click on the stage (once),
- Edit the Min W of the symbol's stage properties on the left "Properties" panel,
- Without changing the value (which will be zero), toggle px to percentage,
- Save your project,
...et voilà by magic the property you just toggled reverts itself to px
(To make it stick apparently it's necessary to change the value in the text field then toggle px to % and it will be properly kept when saving.)
side note: I don't know if that's something that can be a factor in causing the glitch, but each time a project is saved and a the user is "inside" a symbol's stage, the values in the properties panel will display the main stage properties and then will go load again the properties of the symbol being edited.

File missing in petstore1.4

Hi all,
i unzipped the sample bundle of j2ee1.4 but i got an error while doing asant in the samples/bluprints/petstore1.4/src folder as the instructions say. The error is about java.io.FileNotFoundException: samples/common-ant.xml (No such file or directory). And also sample/common.properties file is missing.
Can anyone explain me why are these files missing?

I think the easies way is to copy the entire samples directory to the following folder, c:\Sun\AppServer\samples or any location that you installed the Sun application server. The missing files is at that location. The problem happens because we install the application server and the sample bundles separately and unfortunately we don't have any file mention this problem.

Rejected files missing

Hi there,
After finalizing an iMovie-project, I dumped rejected clips into the trash. During this process, I needed to restart iMovie as the program stopped responding. After restart, it appeard the movie is missing some files and shows black spots. Strange, it seems I did use some rejected material in the movie. I expected a warning from iMovie saying: 'Are you sure you want to sent this material to the trash, etc.' Is this a bug in iMovie? Any idea how I can get the movie in shape again? I did try to change something, so I need to finalize again - haven't done so yet. One solution might be to find the movies iMovie created after finalizing, but where are they kept on the system?

Hi Henk - great to hear that you were able to retrieve your movie!
Not sure about the rejected files, as I've never tested what you are asking. I rarely reject clips, and if I do I generally reject them straight after importing to the Event, and before starting a Project.
With a Project open, you can see which clips in an Event are included in the Project - an orange line appears at the base of the Event clip (or portion of the clip). If you reject a clip, a red line appears across the top of the clip, but to see this you have to select Show: Rejected Only or Show: All Clips from the arrowed pop-up menu at the lower left under the Events window. If you've used a rejected clip (or part clip) in your Project, it will show both lines on the Event clip.
As you mentioned in your original post, it would be handy to get a warning if you attempt to reject a clip that has already been included in a Project. I just tested this and received no warning. However, I'm not game to fully test your theory about untoward consequences in case it upsets the applecart for me also.

Sidecar file missing - correct status on selected items

Hello,
how can I correct the 'sidecar file missing' issue on several selected items in a LR2.3 Catalog?
With an external program named 'exiftool' I have manipulated xmp data (xmp:urgency) on selected images by means of a filelist.
During this process LR was running and the LR catalog setting was set to 'automatically write changes to xmp'.
Before Exiftool writes into an exisiting file, it creates a copy and renames the file ending with '_original'.
Hence, since LR was running LR was aware of what's going on and took notice of the changes for each file.
After I verified the process to have completed as anticipated, I went to delete the '_original' copies.
Back in LR the question-mark icon appeares for the manipulated files (that are fully intact - not a problem there).
Clicking the question-mark on a catalog item provides two choices:
- continue tracking
- forget (meaning clearing the link to the missing file).
So far so good. But what about when this is the case for many items?
Selecting these items and then clicking the question-mark does not apply the selected choice 'forget' the selected items.
I wonder if there is another way of getting rid of this question-mark (indicating missing links).
I am aware of the workaround of simply removing the items in question from the catalog and reimport them (synchronize folder).
Tried to importing the metadata from disk, but that does not help in this case (this is logical and correct).
But I also wonder why this function cannot be applied to a selection of items while most other functions can.

On my friend's server 9, the initals are selected in the drop down when the page loads. On our server 7, the initials are not selected and just the first option that says "PNR Initials" is displayed in the drop down when the page loads. So if the initials "AG" are entered into the database already, the initials "AG" should be displayed in the drop down menu when the page opens. We are using the exact same code at my company and my friend's company, but it only works at his place, but not mine and we're not sure why other than the fact that he has Cold Fusion Server 9 and we have Cold Fusion Server 7.

Unable to update/use Adobe - error 'File Missing'

Have done everything possible, there is no file to find. Attempted to uninstall all Adobe on PC;' Fatal Error' -a Drive/File missing, cannot remove Adobe, This leaves me without PDf, Acrobat, all products. Microsoft answer: : "for $198.00 will repair". Take A Hike! Windows 8.1 PRO. HELP! M. ONEILL

The description of your problem is very sketchy; I'm not quite sure what you experience.
Try removing Adobe Reader using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
then download and run the installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
If that does not help, please provide more information about your problem.

Old old FrameMaker files missing fonts/characters

I have a HUGE collection of FrameMaker files, created on a SUN system in vers 3.5. When we open in 5.5, or the new 9 (PC) there are fonts missing (being replaced) ie times helvetica, & new century schoolbook we have purchased and installed these fonts, but it still claims they are missing. (we now have zaph dingbats working) I have read about the .ini files, my next step is to try that, however, the CHARACTERS that are missing are Cyrillic, will editing the .ini files help this problem?..oh and many of the files are "view only"...our final working document will be liked pdf files...have we missed anything?

The easiest explanation is that the font names and font mapping has changed from the Sun mapping to the Windows system, which ini file editing may help, but I suspect you ahve a larger problem.
It's almost certain that the old files are using Cryllic characters from the FrameMaker character set.
Frame went to Unicode support in version 8, which basically means that if you're going to use FM 9 on the project (which you should, because of the Unicode support -- it makes them portable), that you're going to have to map the existing Cryllic characters to the corresponding Unicode Cryllic character.
Which also means that the fonts you've purchased had better include the Unicode characters -- which they may not. They probably do if they were crafted recently, but it's worth checking that detail now, before you jump in. Older fonts may not support Unicode.
The read-only setup in the old files is probably because someone locked them down so they couldn't be altered OR a bit or two got corrupted over the years. If that's what happened, try Esc F l k (the l = lower case L) to see if that fixes it.

XMP file missing

I've got a problem with a specific RAW file missing it's XMP data.
I had two images with the same name, one the CR2 and one a TIFF of the same file. When I deleted the TIFF from the library, Lightroom's "feature" thoughtfully also removed the XMP file.
Lightroom recognised that the XMP file was missing and warned me, however telling it to save metadata to file still didn't create a new XMP file. I then told Lightroom to "forget about this sidecar file", assuming this meant I could then recreate it. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case. I have changed develop settings etc and clicked save to file and it's still not creating the XMP file, all the changes are only stored in the Library.
Any suggestions? What can I do?

I just did a test of deleting an .xmp file, and LR recreates the .xmp file, only after a change has been made to the file. I conclude that the other steps you took threw a wrench in the process.
If you want to be sure that this .xmp file is current, you can make an edit change (up exposure or anything, and return it) check the time stamp on the .xmp. You can also open in a text editor for specifics.

I was trying to install Multi-node E-Business Suite installation R12.1.1 on OEL5.4 using Rapid Install
DB Server - Initilized rapid install as super user
Sucessfully Passed all the Pre-Install checks and when begining the installation, stuck in the "Install Oracle Applications -Step 1 0f 3 begining unzip phase"
Checked the log files and complaining about a missing driver db102.drv

"required support files missing"

I have the CS4 Suite on my Macbook - Purchased about 4 years ago, the license seems to have expired and none of them will open so I'm trying to get rid of them. The apps were migrated from a previous macbook although I haven't used them in a few years, apparently.
Ive tried several tacks:
When using any of the application uninstallers, I get a message saying "required support files missing."
When I go to Utilities/Adobe Installers/ and run the installer app, same error.
The directions on the Adobe Cleaner seem to say that you have to use AFTER the suite is uninstalled. So that doesn't seem applicable; am I correct?
It looks like I'm not supposed to drag the applications to the trash bin. "In order to remove safely, do not drag ..."
Any ideas?
