About Extractor 2LIS_13_VDHDR

Hi Guys,
I am using an extractor 2LIS_13_VDHDR. When I check that in RSA3 it shows
"0 records selected". When I schedule that my infopackage having that same Data Source it shows that 1900 records loaded.
As for as my knowledge is concerned if there is nothing in extract tables no records are loaded into BW.
Please correct me whether i am correct or not.
Thanks
Peter b

hi,
Please understand that RSA3 is extrator checker
Incase u r using update mode F ( On rsa3 screen)
the data is brought from setup table
incase the update mode is D ( On rsa3 screen)
the data is brought from delta queue..
So I think u are doing delta in BW ...and so the data is pulled in BW .
But RSA3 is not displaying any data ...the reason is that ur setup table is empty...so fill the same but the transaction for that extractor as suggeseted by others..
Hope it helps

  • About extractors

    hi friends
i want to write extractors using ABAP in sap bi how i wil do that i want in detail plz any body suggest me how to resolve that ?

    Hi....
You will get many documents on this......Please check the below document :
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a0f46157-e1c4-2910-27aa-e3f4a9c8df33?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true
First you have to create the datasource in RSO2 and then do the developments accordingly.......many good blocks are also there....please search in SDN......

  • What is extractor checker and use of it...?

    Hello,
Could you please help to know about extractor checker and use of it.
    Thanks in advance,
    G Raghu.

    Hi..........
The extractor checker comes packaged in Service API (SAPI), which enables you to create generic DataSources via transaction RSO2. The extractor checker has been available since very early SAP releases (both SAP_APPL including the 3.X track and BW including the 2.X track). It can be considered release-independent. It does not require the source system to be connected to the target BW system. For more information about SAPI, go to SAP Service Marketplace. You search SAP notes using the keyword u201CSAPI.u201D
By running the extractor checker in the debug mode, you can learn a lot about the underlying application. I have been in situations where I had to work with application-specific standard extractors in areas that Iu2019m only vaguely familiar with. Running the extractor checker in the debug mode has helped me identify the base tables without a lot of effort.
I have seen generic extractors delivering no data because of faulty logic/coding. The reaction on the BW side is usually one of bewilderment and disbelief. You can avoid this by running the extractor check before executing your InfoPackages from BW. Iu2019ll show you how to use this tool in a more effective way and explain why you might want to use it more frequently.
For extraction of data we create datasource in the source system.............after that we replicate it in the BW side...............
Now our datasource can extract data from any:
    Table or view
    Query
    Function mudule.................................
Now to check whether thae datasource is working fine or not.........We have to go to RSA3 in the source system...........There we will give the Datasource name.................then we will execute.........then it will displsy the data it contains...............we can also check for a specific value......
    Hope this helps you..........

  • SAP Extractors with mandatory parameters

    Hi,
    This is a two part question really;
    1.  How do I specify parameters for a SAP Extractor that requires mandatory parameters (in the case i'm looking at, a from and to date) ?  I've tried adding restrictions to the where clause of the query transform, but they don't seem to be getting passed back to the extractor..  Also, but can you preview the data when there are mandatory parameters  ?
    2.  How can I determine from the metadata imported into data services if there are mandatory parameters ?  Is there an 'Extactor manual' than comes with SAP ECC I should be referring to ?
My experience thus far is extractors are great when they work, but a complete mystery when they don't .  Based on the feedback I am getting from SAP support, they don't have much of a clue about extractors outside of openhub..
    Thanks
    Leigh.

    Hi Doug,
You can write a custom Java iView, calculate the variable param there and use URLGenerator to get the URL for the SAP transaction. Then just display it in an IsolatedHTMLContainer in the iView.

  • Basics of Extractors

    Hello All,
I want some basic information about Extractors. These are the questions i want ur help for.
Q1. What is the function of an Extractor?
Q2. What are the different types of Extractors in BI?
Q3. Which Extractor will be used in what kind of scenario?
Q4. Advantages and Disadvantages of each type of Extractor.
Any other information apart from the above will be all the more helpful.
PS: Precis information from the exising posts did not clear my understanding.
    Regards,
    Kunal Gandhi

Extractors are one of the data retrieval mechanisms in the SAP source system.
An extractor can fill the extract structure of a DataSource with the data from SAP source system datasets.
    2 Types
1.Application Specific Extractors:-These are the extractors specifically designed for the business content datasources.
a)BW Content extractors (Eg: FI, CO, HR, SAP CRM, LO-Cockpit)
b)Customer-Defined extractors (Eg: LIS, FI-SL, COPA)
2.Generic extractors: with Generic extractors you can extract transaction data, master data attributes or texts from the SAP source system and transfer it into BW.
You can run generic data extraction in the R/3 source system application areas such as LIS, CO-PA, FI-SL and HR.Regardless of application, you can generically extract master data attributes or -texts, or transaction data from all transparent tables, database views or SAP query functional areas or using the function module.
    Cross-Application
Generic extractors (Eg: Based on DB Table, View or InfoSet or Function Module)

  • When do the Filters turn into IndexAwareFilters ?

Hi, I've looked through the documentation and this forum and probably found the answer already. But just to be sure ...
Re: Aggregation with a Partitioned Cache: unnecessary serialization This is post which i found useful for answering my question.
So am i right that any Filters which implement IndexAwareFilter interface (GreaterFilter, LessFilter, etc) start
behaving as a IndexAwareFilter after indexing the properties?
I've been looking for the solution which could optimize quering performance and it looks like there is only one choice. It's ok for me )) . When i started my search i thought about Extractors which could deal with POF format to extract some specific values without deserialing object. But in that case you still have to iterate over all values and cache those extracted values. The Coherence's indexing solution makes the same without requering additional effort from you.

    Hi,
IndexAwareFilters are EntryFilters, but before iterating over the entire candidate set, they can first check whether there are applicable indexes they could use, and they do this before deserializing any entries.
This usually means that they check that an index exists for their extractor, and if yes, they use it, but there are exceptions, e.g. InKeySetFilter is an IndexAwareFilter, but it does not need any indexes to exist, it instead just filters the binary form of the keys.
So yes, most IndexAwareFilter give you a plus only if your extractor is indexed, but that is just because those kind of filters are provided.
As for extracting directly from the Binary form: one advantage is indeed that if an attribute is not indexed, then you don't need to pay the deserialization cost at querying, but there is a more significant advantage, too: you don't need to deserialize upon updates.
Coherence needs to deserialize your new entry value for updated entry or for an inserted entry on the storage node in case any of the following is true:
    - an index is created on the cache which does not directly go into the Binary
    - a map event filter-based cache listener or backing map listener is registered on the cache
    - a backing map listener wants to examine the new value
    - a map event transformer wants to transform the new value
Possibly most of these can benefit from not having to deserialize the entry if only Binary-aware extractors are used.

    Robert

  • BI Exctrator concept

    Hi ALL,
When loading data from ECC 6.0 to BI 7.0, i remark that that ECC databse grow rapidely.
Could you please explain me why the size of database was increased?
Also., * could you please  help to understand the technical concept and  functionnality of BI extractors?*
I am in ECC 6.0/Oracle and BI 7.0/oracle.
    Thank you in advance.
    Hassan

    Hi Hassan,
One reason for that may be like this: when extractor bundles the data to be sent to BI system, it occupy tables space at ECC so system shows you increased size of DB.
    about extractors:
There are two types of extractor:
    1. Application specific extractor:
These are standard extractors given by SAP (can be modified/enhanced), they are specific to there application area.
e.g. Logistic extractors ( for SD , MM etc. ), CO-PA extractors ( for controlling and profitability), FI-SL extractors (for Finance special purpose ledger)
    2.Cross Application Extractors :
When we customize an extractor, those are customer based extractor or Generic Extractors.
When we find that there is no standard SAP datasource meeting our needs, we create our own. Generic extractors are based on table/view, infoset and function module.
For functionality you can look at the specific area.
    Hope it helps...

    Ashish

  • Question about the data in 2LIS_04_P_COMP extractor (0pp_c05 infocube)

    Hi gurus.
My Organization need to compare between the materials that go in to the production process and the materials that located inside the products that go out from the production process.
In the R/3 there is a calculation that divides the loss of material in the process amongst the final productions, so the loss material goes back to the full picture.
This calculation called DUV (Distribution of Usage Variances).
I want to know if the data that extract to BW through 2LIS_04_P_COMP is after this calculation or not.
An answer from what table dose this extractor takes the data can help as well.
I can not find any documentation about it.
Maybe some one can help me.
    Thanks in advanced

  • A question about Generic Extractor

    Hi everyone,
I excuted Generic Extractor to extract customer reference data to MDM server. I deselect "Local download" and  select "Upload via FTP", there is no error and the reference data was transfered to corresponsing mdm port directories. But xml files of the reference data were also downloaded into the local directory from where I upload Ports and Check-Tables.
Could you give some suggestion about it.
    best regards,

    Hi Lionsir,
It could be the case that you have given the local file directory address in the generate XSD option.
    Just check the same.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks,,

  • Making the 2LIS_11_VAITM extractor know about custom partner types

In R3, I've added two new partner types that can be assigned to an order: Z4 - Reseller and Z7 - End User.
I've coded a user exit to populate these two fields.
The problem I am having is that on an order change, if the user changes only the customer numbers of these two partners, the 2LIS_11_VAITM extractor does not see that the order changed and does not send before/after images to BW.
I understand that these are not standard partner types which the extractor is coded to determine if there's been a change.  However how can I make the extractor know that I want to send changes to these two partner types to BW?

    Hi,
you need to enhance the extract structures in the old LIS exits.
    MCS10001 for Orders
    MCS50001 for deliveries
    MCS60001 for invoices
there you have the x- and y-tables available (like in the sd-user-exit save-document_prepare) and can control the update of pre an after images.
the you need to raise the event that allows the extractor "to extract". It fairly complex as far as I know.
is it an option to model the two partner roles as Navigational attribute to Document-Number? It's far easier and you can maintain document as line item dimension in the cube and you will always have the current PartnerRole.
much easier as above described extraction ...

    cheers

  • Inquiry about QAQR on QM extractors

    Hello Experts,
I'm trying to analyze some QM extractors for a new QM report. What I just have now is a list of required fields and corresponding tables they should come from. Initially, I'm trying to look for the fields which are already available in BW and check whether they match from the required fields (and source table).
Now I'm having difficulties finding the source tables of some fields from extractors 2LIS_05_QE1 and 2LIS_05_QE2 with 'MCQAQRX <fieldname>' which I can find from transaction LBWE. I was told that hints for source/base tables of logistic extractors can be found in LBWE: for example, MCQALSX -> source table is QALS; MCQMELX -> QMEL, and so on. But for MCQAQRX, I think it doesn't work this way as apparently table QAQR doesn't exist in the system (neither a physical table or a view). However, similar tables QAMR and QASR do exist. I tried to search in SDN for some documentations and forums regarding this matter but I could find any answers.
Is there anyone know where exactly data for MCQAQRX come from? Or any ways to find so.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Tan

    Hi Arvind,
It didn't occur to me the idea of comparing records in BW and ECC. Now I tried to compare data (not specifically) but in terms of number of records, and I think the data for these extractors are coming from table QASR: data in BW and from this table is equal!
Thanks for you response. Quick and simple.. and useful.

  • Delta with reversal into cube from LO extractors

    Hi SDN,
In our LO extraction design we have write-optimized DSO used as EDW as the first layer in BI. Then data is sent to Business Content infocubes, such as 0PUR_C01 though we are using their copies and instead of Update Rules/Transfer Rules, we are using PSA, Transformation, Write Optimized DSO, another transformation and onto the cube. DS and all other objects in the data flow are BI 7.
What we are not clear about is the role or ROCANCEL when passed to both STORNO and RECORDMODE and its impact on the cube after the write-optimized DSO. Some key figures are reversed for 'R' but others are not.
We had thought that 2LIS_02_ITM via a Write Optimized DSO will pass on STORNO and RECORDMODE to the cube which should have reversed all key figures in the cube if the value is 'R'. But it is not happening. Whatever key figures were reversed in the source system, they remained reversed, others are still there and adding another row in the cube with some positive values.
Can anyone shed light on this or provide reference to documentation regarding delta processing in the cube, especially from LO extractors like 2LIS_02_ITM, etc.?
    Thanks
    SM

    Friends,
    Thanks for the reply.
    My question is more fundamental.
In 3.5 There was expected to be no DSO between Source system and the cube. How were the Update, add and delete handled then?
As I see it, write-optimized DSO is no hindrance because essentially the data is coming into the cube as if there was no DSO in the middle. I do not see SAP suggesting a DSO anywhere between the source and business content cubes, especially in our case dealting with 2LIS_02_ITM, SCL, etc. to handle delta.
Are you saying that no delta management is possible without inserting a DSO before the cube? Please realize that WO DSO only brings data request by request without any summation and overwrite confusion.
What I puzzled at is the lack of comprehensive unfied and detail information either in documentation or a blog.
    Please advise.
    SM
