About Filters

Hi
can any one explain about FILTERS in reporting......what is this and let me know its importence by giving examples please  iam getting very confusing with this.
As we know we can create WAD  reports for queries, info providers and query views.. i know first two but i dont know About query viewu2026 what exactly this and how to create itu2026.
What is work booku2026u2026u2026
We have the process in the general services EXOR what is this and I am unable to understand its usefulness with the explanation in the books.

Hi Priya,
Sorry for late reply....
Actually in Process chain its based on Event processing. When there is step then it should raise the Successful (Green) & unsuccesful (Red).
Now the requirement is depend on to the logic or steps you want to load data in your Data targets.
For your more understanding share ur id so I can send you document.
But for simpler understanding, replace 1 with G (For successful event) & 0 with R (For unsuccessful event)  in AND, OR, EXOR Table.
Please let me know your more questions.

Mahesh

  • Question about filtered index

    I am looking over database for the SQL objects having SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER OFF and SET ANSI_NULLS OFF
    For filtered index both needs to be ON so what about the objects that dont have quoted_identifier and ansi_nulls code line?
    do i need to add SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON and SET ANSI_NULLS ON for those objects as well?

    Following article solved my question
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlprogrammability/archive/2009/06/29/interesting-issue-with-filtered-indexes.aspx
    I tried creating proc without quoted_identifier and ansi_nulls code line and proc still executes

  • Puzzled about filters for phones.

    I am very puzzled about the filters for the phones.   I have three cordless phones so made sure I had three filters to use with my phones for the broadband.
    I put one filter on the incoming phone line with the cordless with the ansaphone ..... and then plugged the other two cordless into the electric supply and realised I couldn;t put a filter on them .... so was stumped.   But the broadband is staying connected when calls are being answered.
    I thought I had to have a filter on each phone being used.    Sorry if its a bit garbled... but I'm trying to explain it the best way I can.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    very simple really as they are cordless phones and as they operate wirelessly only the main phone unit is connected to the phone line the other two phones do not need filters

  • Repost : confused about filters

    Hi,
    Sorry to repost. I am looking for some information. We have all kinds of documents. PDF, DOC, EXCEL , HTML etc. First three are more important ofcourse.
    How can I create an index that would work with atleast the above three formats.
    Do I need to install additional filter ?
    Could someone please show me an example if possible.
    Regards
    Vissu

    Just use the INSO filter. You don't need to install the filters.
    Please check the following section in the reference manual for more information: http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle9i/doc_library/release2/text.920/a96518/cdatadic.htm#36089

  • Question about Filters in Java.

    Hello ,
    I want to make a filter over a JTable , so that data that appears in the JTable is filetered with the characters that are typed in the Field , each time a new character is entered the table is filtered. What can I use to make that happen?
    Thanks.

    hii,
    if you're defining SomeTableModel, already, then
    global def.
    private final JTextField someTextField = new JTextField();
    //private JButton refreshButton = new JButton("Refresh Data");
    private JTable someTable = new JTable();
    private  SomeTableModel tableModel;somewhere in class definition (for jtable)
                someTextField.setText("");
                final TableRowSorter<TableModel> sorter = new TableRowSorter<TableModel>(tableModel);
                someTable.setRowSorter(sorter);
                someTextField.getDocument().addDocumentListener(new DocumentListener() {
                    private void searchFieldChangedUpdate(DocumentEvent evt) {
                        String text = someTextField.getText();
                        if (text.length() == 0) {
                            sorter.setRowFilter(null);
                            //someTable.clearSelection();
                        } else {
                            try {
                                sorter.setRowFilter(RowFilter.regexFilter("(?i)" + text)); // hack for ignore CaseSensitive

  • Question about filtering mail

    At present I tidy most of my Mail inbox automatically (mostly) by writing rules to send some posts to their respective mailboxes. These are generally routine messages that are not immediately important, but sometimes they might be important. When I first started doing this, I realised that Mail quietly filters the messages in the background and unless I opened the mailboxes to look I wouldn't know if I had received a new message. Therefore I created a smart mailbox that would show all messages for a week. I take a look every now and then.
    Because this doesn't work on iphone, and also because there is no longer the option to synch rules and mailboxes between Mail apps on different computers, I really have to consider doing my filtering on icloud.
    However, on iCloud there are no smart mailboxes. If I filter a message into a mailbox on iCloud, it'll disappear into that mailbox and I won't see it unless I search through the mailboxes. So, my question is, does anybody know of a way that one can filter messages on iCloud so that one can see easily all the messages that have arrived, in the same way that I can do with Mail? I do not want all of these messages, from various forums, shopping sites, etc, cluttering up my inbox, but I do want to be able to keep an eye on what has arrived.

    Thanks for taking the time to respond guys.  Both of your answers have been helpful.
    To clarify, I did have junk filtering on (which created a junk mailbox) and I did have the box checked to show all junk main in my regular inbox (highlighted as suspected junk).  My problem was they all were't going to my inbox at all, but straight to my junk box.  So there's a flaw with the junk mail option.  I will check all of my other devices to make sure I have the same option set for all machines though!
    Currently I have junk mail filtering off (which takes away the junk mail folder), and my question was, will I now get all mail, including junk, in my inbox.  The obvious answer seems like a yes, but I just wanted to make sure that is indeed the case as nothing in mail help says you will get all of your mail or not (wasn't sure if there's some sort of junk mail filter at the iCloud server level that would simply ignore what it thinks is junk and not even send it to me).
    Based on what you guys have said, my suspision that I will get all mail now, regardless of if it's junk or not, in my inbox, is pretty much confirmed.

  • About filters in IDOCS

    Hi all,
    How  to set new filter to send perticular data to only one person having function type 59.
    Thanks,
    Shiva

    Hi,
    BD95 - Create the New Entry of ALE Object Type and give the table name and field name for which you need to set the filter
    BD59 - enter the message type
    And then give the ALE Object type which was created throug BD95 and give the segment name for the same field you want to filter the values.
    BD64 - Create the new distribution model and once you add the message type then create the filter and while creating the filter, the field which you have configured using BD95 AND BD59 will appear in the filtering criteria. Then you can set the value for the field.
    Reg the user authorization you need to write the code in the User Exit for the Outbound function module.
    Hope it helps.
    Reward if it is useful.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

  • I have lots of redundant bookmarks. how do i go about filtering them to delete the redundancies?

    I've imported bookmarks/favorites/etc., from several different places and now I've got hundreds of redundancies. Is there a way to run a filtering program of the URLs to weed out the redundancies?

    You can use the following Add-on to check for duplicates:
    *'''''CheckPlaces''''' --> https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/checkplaces/
    *After install and restarting Firefox there is a toolbar icon (star with checkmark as shown on the Add-on page) that you '''''may''''' need to drag to the toolbar, '''''if it does not automatically show on the toolbar''''', from the Customize window while the Customize window is open: ''Firefox button > Options > Toolbar Layout'' (or ''View > Toolbars > Customize''). See --> https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-customize-toolbars#w_how-do-i-customize-or-rearrange-toolbar-items
    *Clicking the toolbar icon opens a dialog. On the "Check Options" tab, check only "Check for duplicates", then click "Check" in the lower left. Review the results carefully before you delete items.

  • Question about filtering a file type on check in?

    I am reading on how to filter file types on check in and I was wondering.  Is it possible to check a file type and pop up a error page in iDoc, or would I have to go the custom component route (and would that need to be java or iDoc)?

    Thanks for the input, but seeing how the setting where I'm going to employ this component for UCM is secure I can't use code I can't read for myself (No offence to the author of that blog or to you).  But yeah I kinda figured making a filter based component would be the best route, but most examples I've found used the intradoc library.  Problem is I can't seem to find the intradoc library to try to write a basic example to see what I'm doing, everything I get is for RIDC (even found a small example on writing a filter for RIDC).  Is this what UCM is using now in 11g?
    Also one thing I felt missing when looking at example code, I get the basic idea of the code itself.  But to employ the componant to work on the check in request would I just include that component in that idoc function for checkin?

  • Question about filtering by multiple keywords

    I must be missing something, because setting up a filter using multiple keywords doesn't seem to be working for me. I'm clicking "Text" in the Library Filter, then selecting "Keywords" and "Contains All". When I type in multiple keywords, separated by a space, the list still contains photos that do not contain ALL of the keywords I entered. The resulting list seems to be displaying photos as if I selected "Contains Any" instead of "Contains All". Am I missing something obvious here?
    - Dave

    Could you provide a specific keyword example? Do you perhaps have two keywords such as 'Horse Carriage' and 'Horse'?
    Using the text filter "Keywords Contain All Horse" would also find images with the keyword 'Horse Carriage'.

  • Filters not working with Tomcat 5

    Hi,
    I've attempted to implement a filter in my JSP program. Below is the web.xml I'm using and the filter implementation.
    The problem is doFilter simply isn't being called. init is called because when I do an ant reload it print my error into the log but doPost never prints anything anywhere. Please help!!! I'm completely foxed.
    I thought it might be something to do with the FilterConfig as I don't understand how its set or called but as I don't understand, I don't know?

    First of all this is not correct:
    <filter-mapper>
             <filter-name>authFilter</filter-name>
             <url-pattern>/Controller</url-pattern>
    </filter-mapper>It is:
    <filter-mapping>
             <filter-name>authFilter</filter-name>
             <url-pattern>/Controller</url-pattern>
    </filter-mapping>
    Also note that with this mapping configured onlt Servlets/JSPs called using the URL <your_domain>/<your_context>/Controller will be called.
    Any other urls will not be subject to the filter.
    I don't know all there is to know about filters, but I would be concerned that maybe your connection object is not thread safe being defined in the scope that it is.

  • Display filters in report BeX Analyzer 3.5 X 7.0

    Hi,
    we used fronted for version 3.5, where after executing query in BEX 3.5 you can see information about filters, which is used in query or which we used in selection screen, in after 1st executing query in  Excel sheet.
    In BEX 7.0 - when we look to button Filter you can see only empty fields after 1st executing query, not filters which we used in selection screen or in definition query, as in BEX 3.5.
    Do you know if is it possible change this feature?
    Thanks
    Petr

    Hi Anita,
    If you open a 3.x query in 7.0 it does NOT change the query technical name.
    But yes if you have opened the query once in 7.0 you cannot open it in 3.x later. If you want to reopen 7.0 BEx queries back in 3.x BEx follow the below steps.
    1) Goto se38.
    2) put program name COMPONENT_RESTORE
    3) Click "Display"
    4) Click "Direct Processing" button from set of buttons available above the program.
    5) It wil ask for "Info Provider" & "Comp. Type"
    6) Put your concerned "Info Provider" and "Comp. Type" is "REP".
    Hope this helps,
    Thanks,
    Mihir

  • Can one get viruses/trojans from filters/brushes/etc...

    Is it possible? I do not mean installing the addons using some installation but from the addons themselves. Do they have the ability to execute native code or some strange thing in photoshop?
    The thing I'm mainly woried about is filters as I imagine these are simply dll's that are called by photoshop? Or is it some photoshop language that doesn't have any security risks?
    e.g., if I download a filter and manually install it from some random website is there any chance when it is used inside photoshop it can create a security risk?

    No easy answer? There is a simple and easy answer.
    You are saying that a plugin can run external code. If this is the case then it is possible to get a virus. Obviously well behaved software is not what one has to look out for. People don't write viruses to be "well behaved".
    If I have some untrusted filters then it seems that I am taking a risk.
    But you are talking about plugins and I'm talking about filters. Are they the same? Is a filter a script or some internal photoshop language that doesn't have access to the outside world or is it essentially a plugin?
    As you said, Brushes are just "data"... are filters just "Data" too or do they contain real code that can do malicious things?
    I realize plugins are dangerous since virtually all plugins are actually just external programs that hook into software to make it more powerful. I'm unclear if filters are more like plugins or more like brushes. I'm specifically talking about things with the 8bf extension. Looking at the file bytes it seems to be an executable in disguise.

  • Filters applied, called twice sometimes ...

    Hi,
    I have a small problem which give me headhache...
    I'm using a filter to make pre (authentification) and post processing (output the webpage using a XSL transformation).
    skeleton :
    ... doFilter ...
    //authentification
    chain.doFilter()
    //transformation and display
    When i'm aslink for a webpage (with a visitor account) there is no problem .., the webpage is displayed properly and the filter is called once ! perfect !
    but after my authentification (put a variable containing information onto the session with
    "sessionMgr.setSessionUser(session, user);") when I call the same webpage as before the webpage is displayed properly (that's a good point) but I saw in the tomcat console that after the end of the filter , the filter is called again with the same request or null sometimes .... GRRRRR
    I read John Hunter article about filters and in its clickstream exampl is using this tips :
    // Ensure that filter is only applied once per request.
    if (request.getAttribute(FILTER_APPLIED) == null) {
    request.setAttribute(FILTER_APPLIED, Boolean.TRUE);
    HttpSession session = ((HttpServletRequest)request).getSession();
    Clickstream stream = (Clickstream)session.getAttribute("clickstream");
    stream.addRequest(((HttpServletRequest)request));
    at the start of this filter ...
    can I have more explanation about this stuff ...
    I really don't understand why this happened ... it seems linked to the session management but I have no proof ...
    I find out hard to debug and hard to explain so
    THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR SUPPORT :)
    see ya
    Franois (french guy so sorry for the english)

    hi there,
    well your problem is interesting........
    the solution that you have suggested in your problem regarding the use of FILTER_APPLIED, can be used but not as a long term solution.........
    well one thing i can tell you that as i was also facing the same problem of filter called twice, let me explain you the basic behaviour of the filter that a filter is called just before processing any request and again before giving response back to the particulare request........
    the next thing i can tell you is from your web.xml it is quite clear that you are mapping each request coming from dispatcher (your servlet) to your filter.......that means any request that points to dispatcher will go to the filter first and then to the actual servlet.
    one more thing you are loading the servlet on startup........
    just try to remove that code and then check..............
    because what happens in this case is when you start your application at that time your servlet will be loaded.........check whether the filter is called at that time or not......i think it must be called.......
    and when again a request will come the filter will be called..........this could be possible reasons your filter is called two times.........just try to delete the load on startup line from your web.xml for a while and then check..........
    regards

  • Problems in filtering

    Hello,
    I need to do third octave band filtering, but I have problems to recover the signal properly.
    Here is an example with the problem I have with the filtering. I have generated a pure tone in 50Hz exponentially decrecient and I pass it trough a butterworth filter in the third band octave of 50Hz. But I have problems to recuperate the signal properly. In fact, I find a big attenuation in the first samples of the signal, and it's very important to me the information of this samples.
    I'm not sure what the problem could be and if it's possible to improve this filtering maybe with another kind of filter.
    I have found an example about filtering without a phase shift. It's attached in the second place. But there is a problem
    with this example when I try to change the lowpass filter with a band pass filter. Anyway, I'm not sure if it could help me with my problem.
    Coul any of you help me please with any idea? Thank you very much

    Yeah ,
    First sample big attenutation seems you need to use a windows function and then filtering.
    Thanks,
