About Firefox gives no version number.

About Firefox gives no version number. It says I'm currently up to date and on the release update channel. Is there a version number? What is the "release update channel". Where do you find pertinent information without all the bullshit!

Just under "Firefox"; see image below this reply.

  • Which file in Omni.ja contains the version number in HELP | ABOUT

We are using Firefox in a corporate locked down environment.
we have made a number of changes to files in the OMNI.JA file to configure Firefox accordingly.
We now have a newer version of firefox to install/package however, when we replace the default omni.ja file in FF 10.0.10 and go into HELP | ABOUT it shows the version number of FF that the omni.ja file came from, ie 10.0.4.
Which file(s) need to be replaced in omni.ja so that when we select HELP | ABOUT it shows the correct version of 10.0.10 ?

hello biffal, which changes to the omnia.ja file have you done originally? maybe there's a better way to do it, because this file will be overwritten by each & every firefox update...

  • Incorrect version number and installation date of Firefox after upgrading

My home desktop PC equipped with Mozilla Firefox v4.0 has recently been upgraded to v4.0.1 through an automatic updating. However, as noted from Windows 7 "Programs and Features", the latest version number and its installation date are not correctly shown. The required details refer to the previous v4.0.
I look forward to having your technical advice as soon as possible.
    Andrew

    Hi, Alan
Thank you for your prompt response.
It seems to me that an automatic update of Firefox from v4.0 to v4.0.1 is not detected by Windows 7 > Programs and Features. Firefox > Show Update History and > About show the latest version number with the correct date of installation.
At last, I re-installed Firefox into the existing version. I am pleased to inform you that Windows 7 shows the correct version number and installation date of Firefox as well as Revo Uninstaller.
Perhaps, Firefox team would be kind enough to look into the matter. The problem did not happen in the past automatic updates.
    Regards,
    Andrew

  • How can I see the firefox version number in firefox29?

after updating to firefox29, there is no part named "About" to see the version number or update firefox. please help me. where is it? in previous version whens I clicked on "check for updates" my firefox searched for new updates but now I cant see this part.

To find out your version, Please go to Menu then click [[Image:Help-29]] which is in bottom and select "About Firefox" Menu.
I hope now you can see the version.

  • Include version number on the website

When checking if the download site has the latest version (It is often later than somw download sites) there is no version number to see before download. Can iut not be included on the download page (Other languages) as is the case with Thunderbird

    Hi James
I was aware of the page you refer to and it is the same as I referred to in my question. The version of the file which can be downloaded is not stated anywhere on it and I tried hovering over a English British link and all it gives is a popup text saying "Download for Windows" not the version number. I tried it in Firefox, Chrome and IE.
The other page you refer to does not give a specific version for a download link only a generic "Requirements" for a specific version. It currently does give them for V28 but I downloaded the file about an hour and a half ago and it downloaded V27. The problem is simple, until you start the download you are not able to see what version you are downloading.
In contrast the Thunderbird equivalent page gives the version number before starting any download, a much better solution.
    Regards Alan

  • Purchase order sapscript version number

    Hi friends,
I am customizing a medruck sapscript form. One of my requirements is to get the version number on the form when it is changed. Can you tell me what field gives the version number of the form? I tried with 'revno' field but no luck!
    Thank you very much,
    Krishen

Thanks Ferry. I think this example works for smartform.
Can you guys tell me what is the significance of field 'revno' ? I am guessing that SAP may provide some field for this purpose in sapscript. Is there any simpler way for this purpose?
    Thank you very much again.

  • What is the current version number of Mail ?

What is the current version number of Mail that is installable on Mac OS X 10.3.9 ?

There is no Mail.app version available as a standalone download.
I'm not sure about the Mail.app version number for 10.3.9 but the current version for 10.3.9 should have been included when you installed 10.3.9.
You cannot use the Tiger Mail.app version Panther.

  • Anyone - that "About this MAC" only gives the OS X Version Number and not the Name?

Is anyone else - that "About this MAC" only gives the OS X Version Number and doesn't also give out the Name?
*** version is Mountain Lion? Snow Leopard? Yosemite?? And how hard would it be to use the name AND version number when they refer to a product?
So What Do I have with 10.8.5 ?
PS [as I use this site for the first, I am glad to see for the first time ANYWHERE that the drop down box lists the OS X by name and number. APPLE, PLEASE DO THAT EVERYWHERE!

A google search would have yielded the answer
    10.8 is Mountain Lion.

  • Have followed instructions for displaying Version number. Does not work. I believe "Firefox button" means the gold & blue globe? No "Help" button. Can find no reference anywhere to version number.

I believe that I have installed v.5 but can find no confirmation anywhere.... till now, when your "educated guess" shows v.5.0.1. Please give me concise instructions for displaying the version number. (For most software packages, "About" works... but not in this case.)
    Thanks.

I can't think how '''cor-el''''s first advice went wrong. For Windows there is no difference between Fx5.0 and 5.01
Just to be really sure you can do -
*Firefox orange button>Help>Troubleshooting Information lists your Fx version, or
*Options>Advanced>Update>Show update history(little box at the bottom).

  • I updated to Firefox 5, "about Firefox" shows the new version in the browser window, but my shortcut buttons still show "Firefox 4.0 Beta 10"

I updated to Firefox 5, under the help button in the browser "about Firefox" shows the new version, but my shortcut buttons on my monitor still show "Firefox 4.0 Beta 10". Most updates also update the shortcut buttons. Is there a way I can do this?

I just updated to Firefox 5. About Firefox shows me no version number at all. I had to look at Help > Troubleshooting Information to see the version number.
Update: I saw the version number after changing themes. I guess it depends on what theme you use.

  • I have downloaded Firefox 5.0.1 4 times but the 3.6.19 version still shows up in the "about Firefox" box. Firefox says I have the latest version, but it just does not reflect it in the "about" box.

When I tried the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time to download 5.0.1, Firefox states that I have the latest version installed, but it still shows up as version 3.6.19 in the "about Firefox" box. And this older version is also reflected in your "educated guesses" about my current browser below.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

  • When I click Tools and then plugins and check whether my plugins are up to date or not, Firefox gives me a notice saying my Flash Player is an outdated version and must be replaced.

I am trying to do something that requires Flash Player, but even though it shows in my control panel, and it is the latest version, I keep seeing a notice that it is disabled, and it does not appear in the list of plugins, so I don't know how to enable it.
I have been installing the same version over and over again since yesterday, but when I go to check the plugin, a box appears saying it is disabled. When I go in Tools to the list oif plugins, it is not there! Very frustrating. edit

In Add-ons > Plugins, you must enable "Shockwave Flash (version)"; that is Adobe Flash. Click the "Enable" button next to it. The most current version is 10.3.183.10, which was released just a few days ago.
    '''''"Installed Plug-ins''''' <br />
'''''Many but they are all disabled."'''''
Did you disable all of your plugins? Why?
You need to re-enable your plug-ins in Add-ons > Plugins, then check them to see if they are current and update as necessary.

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash; an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only and a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox. On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
#'''Using Firefox''', go to the following direct download link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.
#Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
#Direct link ActiveX version for IE '''''only''''': http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe

You have multiple old Java Console '''''extensions''''' that Java did not clean-up during updates. You need Java Console only if you do Java programming/development or debug Java applets on web pages. You can see them in Add-ons > Extensions, '''''but you can not remove them from there'''''. Removing them will not affect the functioning of Java on websites. You can '''''manually''''' remove them, '''''if you do not do Java development work''''' to avoid future, possible problems/conflicts:

  • I installed teh update a few days ago but when I open Firefox it says :"You're not on the lastest version . . ", but at "Help" & "About Firefox" it shows 9.0.1 "latest release". There's a glitch somewhere.

This is the message when I Open Firefox:
"You're not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade today to get the best of the Web!"
    At <Help> & <About Firefox>, it shows
    Firefox
    9.0.1
    "Firefox is up to date"
"You are currently on the release update Channel"
One of those messages must be wrong. Either way Firefox seems to work fine otherwise. Thanks and regards, Peter Spielman

Is your homepage set to www.google.com/firefox? If so, that page is wrong. You should change your home page to about:home or some other site instead. The google.com/firefox page is no longer supported.
