About FMLA Leave in ESS Time sheet

Hi Sap gurus,
Our Client has requirement to implement FMLA where employee can enter vacation along with FMLA .
How we can configre this in Time Evaluation to allow two absences on the same day.
This is allowed in ESS Working Time Record Working Time.

Thanks you for Replying very promptly.
How it will know about FMLA settings if a absence type is created for the Vacation.
It should know how much FMLA is used by the employee till date Because FMLA is only allowed for 16 weeks . Here the scenario is like thay can enter vacation,sick or unpaid leave along with the FMLA .

The ESSTimeSheet is now called Record Working Time & for now it is still in WebDynpro JAVA.. looking at how complex the whole application is, it will really take some beating to rewrite the same in WDA.

No Drop-Down in One Field of ESS Time Sheet

Hi All,
We are facing an issue with ESS, Activity type Dropdown values are coming in CAT2 but being not in ESS time sheet. Drop-down for all other values, eg network, receiving cost center etc., are displayed in ESS.
Can you please suggest what could be the reason behind it.

We are also faced similar kind of issue.
For that Network, activity type should be configured that should have enough permission for that PERN (means user).
My suggesion it is issue with back configuration.

ESS time sheet in pdf format

We have configured the ESS Record working time and after entering the Time Sheet we want to export the timesheet into PDF or users need to print the timesheet, can some body pls help me if this can be done in the backend.

ESS Time Sheet - Print button missing

Hi all,
Refering to the thread "ESS Record Working Time - Print button gone in latest release?" (), has anyone actually managed to solve this in an (for the customer) acceptable way?
Even though SAP for some reason desided to take the print functionality away for the time sheets, the customer still wants to print... So, if anyone out there know a decent solution, please share your knowledge! I´m in desperate need of help.

ESS: Time Sheet

Hi Gurus,
The Scenario is that for Time Sheet, when a contractor enters his time, it should not be reflected in HR.
Is there any config to be done, or can we maintain the data to a Z Table?
we are using ERP2005

you want to use the ess scenario time sheet for external contracters to record their times, right? And you do not want to transport the data to the HR system?
Well first off all you should get yourself familar with CATS. Please study the following doku http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/64/400b2b470211d189720000e8322d00/frameset.htm
Every data you record with the time sheets is saved to a table called catsdb. Only if you release+approve the time its get tranfered to special interface tables. A report later does distibute the data from the interface tables to the target destinations (HR, CO, MM, cProject etc). If you do not run the report for the distribution to HR it wont get tranfered.
Again pls read the doku i have just provided. It will help you to understand how CATS does work.

ESS Time Sheet Entry Error - "critical error, data has been lost"

I tried saving his time sheet data on the ESS . I noticed that when I went back to check on the draft, Draft has no longer exists or had any information. When I tried to find the draft, I got the message "critical error, data has been lost"
Can any one help on this issue if faced.

Hello Friends we are receiving the following errror while saving timesheet.
1. We have checked roles and authorization , it is fine
2. His CRV profile is maintianed coreectly

It is probably you don't have authorization to the IT 2001/ 2002.
- Check your profile on ECC (Objetcs P_PERNR, P_ORGIN)
- Try to record the same absences/attendances by CAT2.

Dropdown Custom Field in CATS Time Sheet in ESS

I have added a custom field in CAT2 transaction with drop down values from the custom table. When I log on to ESS I was not able to see the dropdown in timesheet for that field. I am able to configure the field to have a search help dialog box.
Let me know how can I configure the field to show dropdown values in time sheet in ESS? Appreciate your replies.

Save & Release of Time Sheet in ESS.

Hi all,
The requirement is to provide two options after reviewing the time sheet in ESS, first one as per standard 'SAVE' which will save the time sheet (then employee will release later) and second one is customized one 'SAVE & RELEASE' which will save the timesheet as well as release it on a single instance.
Tried with profile in TCATS Table (Release while Save), but it releases the time sheet on both options.
Then created a custom RFC calling both SAVE and RELEASE RFCs subsequently.
But that is also not working.
So, if any of you came across similar issue. Please guide me on solving this.

Error while approving time sheet in ESS using workflow

Hi Experts,
We have created a data entry profile for ESS time recording and in that we have used the standard task id TS20000460 for SAP workflow with auto determination of recipient. Whenever employee enters the time and save it the workflow is trigring and its going for manager's approval. But however when manager trys to approve it's throwing below error.

Also, check if the manager has authorization's in the portal for the objects

Activities missing in worklist in web time sheet (ESS)

We have a problem concerning activity elements which are present in the worklist in CAT2, but are partially missing in the worklist in the web time sheet. We are using SAP enhancements CATS0001, CATS0009 og CATS0010. I have looked into the project structure in CJ20N to ensure that the the status for the activity elements that are missing and those that are present, are the same. Is there any difference in the functionality that is generating the worklist in cat2 and in the web time sheet? How can I debug this issue?

You need to use a HTTP breakpoint in your implementation at a place where you pass the activity types.

About BAPI( Time Sheet )

Hi Experts,
This is regarding BAPI HRXSS_CAT_WD_RECORD.for this BAPI , I am providing inputs like this
IV_PERNR = 90030.
IV_ACTION = COPY_FROM_PREVIOUS_PERIOD.
IV_BEGDA = 09/20/2008 .
IV_ENDDA = 09/26/2008 .
So this BAPI has to copy the previous period(week) data to current week what I provided in the input area.But it is not returing (it is not copying previous week data).means COPY_FROM_PREVIOUS_PERIOD action is not working in BAPI.
Is there any BAPI for meeting this requirement. I want copy the previous weeks time sheet data to week dates provided in input. This functionality is available in Tcode in cat22.

Were you able to resolve this. Same is the situation with me. I am using this RFC to fetch data from the previous week.
But it does not return any value.
