About GBIP and cable for GPIO

Hi all,
  I have an old device using GPIB (HP-IB 488) for data transfer, the bandwidth is not high. It is pretty slow to transfer big data. The device said it also support a high speed cable supporting GPIO port using HP 11738A cable. I try to search for that but I didn't see any cable of that model. Does anyone have any idea about 11738A and how fast could it be comparing to GPIB 488? Thanks.

That looks like a really old cable, likely to be used with a parallel port.  What instrument are you using?  We really need to look at the manual to see how this General Purpose I/O is to be used.
There are only two ways to tell somebody thanks: Kudos and Marked Solutions

  • Very big problem with JSF about FORM and "id=" for HTML form's elements and

    I have discovered a very big problem with JSF about FORM and "id=" for HTML form's elements and java instruction "request.getParameterNames()".
    Suppose you have something like this, to render some datas form a Java Beans :
    <h:dataTable value="#{TablesDb2Bean.myDataDb2ListSelection}" var="current" border="2" width="50%" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2" style="text-align: center">
    <h:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <h:outputText value="Name"/>
    </f:facet>
    <h:outputText id="nameTableDb2" value="#{current.db2_name_table}"/>
    </h:column>
    </h:dataTable>
    Everything works fine...
    Suppose you want to get the name/value pairs for id="nameTableDb2" and #{current.db2_name_table} to process them in a servlet. Here is the HTML generated :
    <td><span <span class="attribute-name">id=<span class="attribute-value">"j_id_jsp_1715189495_22:0:nameTableDb2">my-table-db2-xxxxx</span></td>
    You think you can use the java instructions :
    Enumeration NamesParam = request.getParameterNames();
    while (NomsParam.hasMoreElements()) {
    String NameParam = (String) NamesParam.nextElement();
    out.println("<h4>"++NameParam+ "+</h4>);
    YOU ARE WRONG : request.getParameterNames() wants the syntax *name="nameTableDb2" but JSF must use id="nameTableDb2" for "<h:outputText"... So, you can't process datas in a FORM generated with JSF in a Servlet ! Perhaps I have made an error, but really, I wonder which ?

    While I certainly appreciate ejb's helpful responses, this thread shows up a difference in perspective between how I read the forum and how others do. Author ejb is correct in advising you to stay inside JSF for form processing if form processing is what you want to do.
    However, I detect another aspect to this post which reminds me of something Marc Andreesen once said when he was trying to get Netscape off the ground: "there's no such thing as bad HTML."
    In this case, I interpret ungar's request as a new feature request. Can I phrase it like this?
    "Wouldn't it be nice if I could render my nice form with JSF but, in certain cases, when I REALLY know what I'm doing" just post out to a separate servlet? I know that in this case I'll be missing out on all the nice validation, conversion, l10n, i18n, ajax, portlet and other features provided by JSF".
    If this is the case, because it really misses the point of JSF, we don't allow it, but we do have an issue filed for it
    https://javaserverfaces-spec-public.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=127
    If you can't wait for it to be fixed, you could decorate the FormRenderer to fix what you want.
    I have an example in my JSF book that shows how to do this decoration. http://bit.ly/edburnsjsf2

  • Battery Care and Cable for Internet and Keychain  :-)

    I commend you people for helping out, so thanks!
    I have a used sMBP I recently purchased. I noticed that the battery cannot be removed easily like the old MBP I had. Does Apple still recommend letting the battery go all the way down and right before it goes into safe mode, hook it up to power, let it fully charge and try to keep the charge around 60-70% charged? Should I do this "drain and charge to full capacity" once a month? Any reason when I initially hook it up to the white adapter, it does NOT say "charging," but it says" Not Charging." Somebody told me to reset the SMC controller (I think that is the right name) but the person gave me instructions for an older MBP, because what he told me to do did not make any sense
    As far as hooking up the MacBook Pro to a wall internet connection should I use this type of ethernet cable or does it not matter? (The ethernet cable that came with the MBP is really loose at the MBP ethernet connection.) "Belkin RJ45 CAT 5e Ethernet Patch Cable (14 Ft.)" If not, any suggestions on the latest recommendation for an ethernet cable? Are there any ethernet internet plugs that take a firewire cable? I know sounds pretty stupid, but I thought I would ask.
    Finally, why when I empty the cache n Safari 5.0.4 do some of my usernames and passwords get erased? I thought that would only happen if I "Reset Safari?" If I loose the passwords, are they stored in keychain if I have used them in the past?
    thanks

    Maybe I'm lucky. But here's my experience.
    With the Lumia 800, battery life was poor initially but after a couple of days it impoved, and again too with software updates.
    920 now I've had for two weeks and it is the only device I use. Habit I had with all my phones for last couple of years, is to have them charging overnight, with alarms set and in main profile for calls (text on silent). Same still with 800 and 920. Though both happily went through the night if I didn't plug them in.
    920 originally battery wasn't great, but improved daily after about 3-4 days. This morning I took it off charge at 07:00, and it's still going strong at 21:30. Been on wi-fi, 3g, phone calls & texts in/out, podcast update check download and playing, email and calendars syncing. A fair amount of speech to text for calling and sms. Whatsapp, NFC and Bluetooth on all day. Screen brightness on 'high', Timeout at 3 mins. Much use of Facebook. Twitter, internet browsing, email, Bluetooth transfer, NFC writing and reading. Taken a couple of photo's and videoes, some Youtube viewing, and about half hour of games. Cloud Backup for text messages 'On', transferred photo's to skydrive and downloaded OneNote while away from wifi. Used several apps a few times throughout the day on wifi and/or 3g. Been on the Store.
    Battery says 18% and 12 hours remaining. I think time remaining is somewhat misleading (as it's based on recent usage I suspect), but the percentage seems reasonably accurate, having checked it throughout the day.  I plan to keep using it tonight for setting up more items on Nokia Reading, listening to music, some sms stuff, along with Facebook and Twitter mainly and will see when it dies.

  • About empirix  and costs for ecah users

    Hi,
    When i run the Oracle OpenScript tool, it generating JAVA Code.
    What is the resusable componets in that java code?
    I want to know the empirix reusable components or building blocks.
    I want to know how many free virtual users we can access and how much cost if i need more..
    And When i record normal HTML page in Oracle OprnScript,I am not able to get any java code in that tool.
    What is the problem?
    Any information in this regard will be highly appreciated
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ramesh Dodda

    Hi Ramesh
    +1) What are the reusable components in that java code?+
    The Java code has 3 main methods
    1) Initialize
    ---- executed once at the beginning of the script
    2) Run
    ---- Will keep executing until the end of the test
    3) Finish
    ---- Will be executed once at the end of the test
    +2) What is the "single component" means give me with examples?+
    ---- By components I mean Objects
    +3) I want to know how many free virtual users we can access(use) in OATS E-Load?+
    ---- You have a 30 day trial period in which you can use as many users as you like, but there are no free users, note that you are bound to the OTN license agreement.
    +4) I want to know about the cost of each virtual user?+
    ---- Find a list of the prices in the following URL: http://www.oracle.com/corporate/pricing/technology-price-list.pdf look for Application Testing
    +5) And When i record normal HTML page in Oracle OpenScript i got Tree view with initialize(),run() and finish()+
    But I am not able get any java code in that. What is the problem?Here i am not using any servers.I am using simple HTML page in my system.
    ----- OpenScript uses a proxy to record HTTP traffic make sure that your browser is listening to localhost 7777 when attempting to record scripts, that should be set automatically by OpenScript, however if you are using IE and a proxy script you may need to uncheck the Use Configuration Script option in the network settings

  • Need help asap about point and shoot for inside

    trying to take pictures for auction listings, don'thave a lot of experience.  have been told about canon powershot and panasonic lumix - could you tell me what will be the easiest for me to use and give me the best inside pictures of objects to list - thanks!!!!

    The key to getting a good picture is to make sure that you can control the light and less about the exact camera as long as you do not purchase any junk.
    For auction images, you should invest in a small light box setup with multiple strobes/flashes that illuminte the item properly.  In order to do this, then you should get an inexpensive SLR.  You should also get a small tripod and remote shutter release that will allow you to make correctly focus pictures.
    Currently, Nikon and Canon are head to head when it comes to image quality with Nikon edging out Canon since they have recently introduced some really great lenses.  Sony is doing OK, but remember Canon and Nikon own 90 % of the camera market and the other 10% is left to everyone else.  Sony is having some problems with ISO images that contain a lot more noise than Canon or Nikon.

  • Need info about CPU and HDD for Tecra 8200

    Hi Guys im new and have just bought the above laptop. However i want a faster CPU and bigger Harddrive (10GIG at the mo after 40 GIG if possible) and my CPU is Intel Pentium III 750MHZ. Please could someone point me in the right direction of where i can get a 40 gig h/drive for the right sort of money and what is the fastest / suggest CPU i can get / go for.
    Thanks for your help .

    Hi
    The fact is that the Tecra 820 was delivered with different CPUs:
    PIII-M (Mobile) 750MHz;
    PIII-M (Mobile) 850MHz;
    PIII-M (Mobile) 900MHz;
    PIII-M (Mobile) 1.0GHz
    In this case the fastest CPU which you can use is a PIII 1GhZ.
    However the CPU changing is not easy and you should change anything if you have no experience.
    Important: You will loose the warranty if you open the notebook.
    Furthermore in my opinion you need also a high performance cooling module because the new CPU will produce more warmness.
    I have also found a information that this unit was delivered with 10GB; 20GB; 30GB HDDs. I think you will have no problems to use a 40GB HDD. The compatible one you can order from the Toshiba service partner.

  • How about Onyx and Macjanitor for the Intel Core Duo chip?

    Your first post is correct Will about MacJanitor.
    I wouldn't trust it, although it should just refuse to work, why take a chance when other utilities exist and offer many more features...
    Anyway the Terminal commands MacJanitor runs are still the same:
    sudo periodic daily
    sudo periodic weekly
    and
    sudo periodic monthly
    or the three tasks together:
    sudo periodic daily weekly monthly

  • Learning about Powershell and IPV6 for 70-410

    I was reading up on the 70-410 exam as I am trying to study up before I take it at the end of the month and it appears knowing Powershell and IPv6 is necessary. Alot of the links I've searched don't seem to cover how Powershell interacts with managing
    a Server 2012 R2 machine and cover things like scripting, etc. Also, I want to know how would one study IPv6 since this is also important to the exam.

    Hi Matthew,
    For IPV6 you can read:
    " http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn610908.aspx  "
    The best way to study PowerShell is to practice with PowerShell (i.e. Configure the Server Core). This is what I did. :)  Good Luck

  • Requesting detailed config and setup for forecast 'period splitting'

    I have searched the SAP community, and found little detailed information about configuration and setup for SAP forecast 'period splitting'.
    I have selected the standard scenario in the 'Splitting Indicator' (1 - 2 - 4) in MM03/MRP3 for splitting month periods into weeks - AND - I have set the MRP Type found in MM03/MRP1 to 'VV' as specified (with "obligatory forecast indicator set on, which supports forecasts to be used as a basis for MRP).
    Doing so has not resulted in my monthly inputted forecasts being split into weeks.
    I am thinking that there is some missing configuration that is needed. Please advise if you can.
    Thank you

    Bert,
    Now I am more curious than ever.  You mention that your forecasts are not generated by SAP, but are generated by an external forecasting program, using requirements type VSF.
    This sounds like your interface program is entering Planned Independent Requirements, not forecasts (for VV MRP type, the MRP element for forecast requirements is called "FORERQ" and not "IndReq").  The field to which you refer ("Splitting indicator" in the MRP3 tab) has no impact on Planned Independent Requirements.  To my knowledge, it only works with the integrated forecast generation program that is commonly used in VV MRP type.
