About GRC portal

Hi All,
I am new to GRC and trying to understand the concept and process flow in GRC. I am basically a Portal Consultant, and was comparing the things between GRC portal and EP 7.0.
In what way are this both related and how I can use, suppose say some reports that are generated in GRC can be shown in EP. Please correct me if my thinking is wrong.
Also, would like to know, where exactly GRC fits in the Netweaver Architecture?
Provide me with some inputs on this.
Thanks,
Aman.

Hello Aman,
GRC products are both JAVA as well as ABAP stack based.
Front end for all product is in either J2E - JAVA or WEBDYNPRO-JAVA.
So did you got idea how GRC fits in NW?
And now in GRC 5.3, they had enabled its integration with Portal through web services.
Kindly let me know if not clear.
Regards,
Surpreet

  • What about GRC Process Control 3.0

    Hi experts!
I've read a lot of information about GRC AC 5.2/3. But no so much documents about the new version of PC.
Right now we are trying to install and test a system parameterized in our laboratory.
Is there a specific forum for PC?
    Has anyone installed it successfully?
    What are the main steps?
    Documentation "useful?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
There are quite a few successful GRC PC implementations around the world. If you are representing a customer / partner, you can touch base with me and I will be more than happy to help you.

  • Calling an ABAP Report from GRC Portal

    Hello...
we want to know how an ABAP report will be called from GRC Portal ? How will be the linkage between these two and can u please explain the same .
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    KY.

I suppose you want to add additional portal content to GRC PC/RM 3.0 portal, then follow the steps bellow:
    In backend ABAP box,
    - Create an transation code for the ABAP report
In the front end Portal box,
    - Create an iView using the template "SAP Transaction iView"
    - Add this iView to your protal role, either directly added to portal role or via workset
    Done.

  • Configuring FPN with GRC portal.

    Hi,
My requirement is to configure FPN between SAP EP and GRC portal. GRC roles should be available in portal.
users in SAP EP will be assigned GRC roles and will work further. We don't want user to access the GRC url directly.
If anyone has done this before or has any idea please suggest.
    Regards
    Amit

    Hi Amit,
In that case you need to configure SSO between your SAP Portal and GRC Portal which is non SAP Application.
Depending on your non-SAP Portal and SAP Portal datasource, if datasource is same, you may need to generate Logon Ticket while login in to Non-SAP portal itself and if different you may need to implement some user mapping feature.

  • What do you NOT like about Oracle Portal?

Using a theme from a post on AskTom, I thought I would start one that details what customers don't like about Portal.
    I've got a few:
    PPE
When load balancing, it forces us to use NAT in the load balancer. Extra configuration, extra time, etc.
    Java or MOD_PLSQL?
Mod_plsql has been around for a long time. It is robust and stable but a simple Dad for Portal is a mix of Java and Mod_plsql. It is not nearly as clean and stable as a mod_plsql application.
    SSO
SSO should be part of the middle tier, not the Infrastructure. It just adds another hop and another thing to manage.
    PTLConfig
ssoreg is for SSO registration of Partner applications. Easy enough. But wait, it doesn't work for Portal. You have to run ptlconfig for it.
    SSL configuration
Wow, what a pain. A Java application or Mod_plsql application is easy to configure for SSL. Not true with Portal.
    OC4J Portal In Process
Showing the status with opmnctl won't show in-process things like Portal. It can only be seen in OEM.
    Explicit Path
In the HTML Portal generates, it has the full path to everything. I tried just changing the hostname in the httpd.conf file but that doesn't work either. We used setup.exe OUI_HOSTNAME= to change the host name of an install which works ok. When using multiple middle tiers, you have to use the real host name for each server and then use a VirtualHost all because Portal uses the full path instead of a relative path.
    Migration of code
Portal doesn't really support the idea of multiple environments which every large company (which is a big part of Oracle's customer base) uses. Migrating a page group with all content from Test to QA isn't something built in like it should be.
I've got some more complaints about Forms, Reports, Discoverer, and SSO but this is just about opportunities for Portal.

    heh. why so negative?
what about a thread about what you LIKE about Portal :-)

  • The problem about  integrate  Portal and R/3

    Hi everyone :
We want to achieve that our vendor can query R/3 report via our Portal. I had done SSO configuration.
But we had about 500 vendors, it is impossible that we create 500 R/3 users for our vendors,  because the cost is too much .
And there is another problem, vendor who had the authorization to query report can query the other vendor's data at same time. But we expect that certain vendor can query his data only.
I think this is a general problem when integrate Portal and R/3, BW .
Is there somebody had solved this problem or give any advice?
       Any discuss is welcome.
    Best Regards,
    Jianguo Chen

    Hi,
I would say: get in contact with your SAP account manager anc check which options SAP can offer you...
Normally every user using a R/3 system has to have a valid user license in that system. Expecially when you want to access control to data on user (vendor) level you nedd to identifiy the user clearly and uniquely which by standard means you need a user for every vendor.

  • Questions about OAS Portal Forms to upload files

    Hello,
I have quetions, about uploading files, see I need to creat a form that will be used by other people to upload information that later will be presented as downloads in the portal...
so I created a form in my provider with a file (binary) field, and it mimes to my table in the DB, to the field "Archivo", then what I do is use a omniportlet and using HTML format I present like a link using the info in the field Archivo
and when I clic on it it takes me to this link
    http://desarrollo06:7778/pls/portal/38173.PDF
but the file I uploaded does not appear
can aniyone help me to solve this?
thanks in advances for the suggestions and your time ^_^

The method you used to setup upload of file seems fine. I suppose you would have used a blob type to save the file in your db table.
basically, you can develop a report offering a link calling perhaps a procedure which would query from the table and download the file.
In that procedure, you would look for the file (vblob) and the mime_type from that table using a sql-query. then use them to setup the mime type for the http protocol, and download the file as follows.
    owa_util.mime_header(mime_type);
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    wpg_docload.Download_File(vblob);
    hope that helps!

  • Is any document about GRC or IDES system can be located?

    Hi expert,
Can you please tell me how can I access the IDES system of GRC?
Where can I locate the help document of GRC as access to the help portal of SAP?
    Thanks.

Documentation on Trade Compliance (Global Trade Services) and Environmental Compliance (EH&S) is available on http://help.sap.com. The user and installation guides for GRC Access Control and Process Control are currently accessible together with the software download (requires a software license). We'll soon have that documentation on http://help.sap.com.
All compliance software is available for demonstration, some of it on IDES systems (trade compliance, environmental compliance), some on dedicated demo servers (access control, process control).

  • About Oracle portal Omniportlet XSL relative URL.

    Hi,
I use Oracle Portal 10.1.4 (on OAS 10.1.2.0.2) and we have 2 server.
The first is on LAN for testing portals and the second is a pre-production server to give public access to our portals to our clients for final testing purpose.
So the two servers have different hostnames. The first is http://dev-oraportal.ccip.fr (called DEV) and the second is http://rec-oraportal.ccip.fr (called REC)
We create portals page groups on the DEV and then export them on REC for client testing.
Omniportlet is inserted on some of our portal pages to display RSS feeds. So we collect RSS using an absolute URL to the RSS .xml file and we also use an XSLT file to transform the RSS RDF schema to <ROWSET>/<ROW> format understood by Omniportlet.
My problem is that Omniportlet only accept absolute URLs for my XSLT file. I created a protal page within my page group to store this XSLT file and so I'd like to use a relative path in order to keep links valid when I'll export my page group to the REC server.
Today, I have to change the XSLT file URL manualy when the migration is over to replace "dev" by "rec" in the server hostname.
Is there any way to use relative paths for XSLT file in Omniportlet ?
I tryed several ways from using many "../" in path to map to the right XSLT path to using portlet parameters in the XSLT URL field as #Param1#/myPageGroup/XSLTFiles.xslt
    But nothing works.
Note that I successfully used parameters in the Omniportlet View tab, but I can't make it work in the source tab.
    Thanks,
    Nicolas.

thanx for the answer... I visited http://portalstudio.oracle.com long time ago but i need more specific information about this. I have everyone manuals and tutorials available in www.oracle.com.... I know some web pages that use oracle portal (www.tomatoland.com, testdrive.compaq.com) and i think that are very complete....

  • About developing Portal applucation...

    Hello sirs,
I am a beginner in Portal development. I am now working with "<b>Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver 2004 Slim Edition</b>" Can i create a simple portal application using this version? or should i have to download any other version of  netweaver?
How can we develop Portal application in Netweaver developer Studio available with Sneak Preview? Can you please forward any links of the tutorials about configuring a sample application in netweaver developer studio?
What is Portal Content Studio is it an IDE like netweaver?
    Kindly help
    regards,
    Sudheesh

    Hi Sudheesh,
    > Can i create a simple portal application
    > using this version?
    Yes.
    > What is Portal Content Studio
    > is it an IDE like netweaver?
NetWeaver is NOT an IDE. NetWeaver is the name of the whole actual SAP platform. NWDS is the Java IDE (NetWeaver Developer Studio).
The portal content studio is the main place within the portal to create Roles, Worksets, Pages, iView etc. See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/df/bedcb2076511d7b84500047582c9f7/frameset.htm
Within NWDS, you have wizards to create a Portal Application (File - New - Project - Portal Application).
    Hope it helps

  • [Urgent] Some questions about Oracle Portal 10g - 11g upgrade

    Dear friends,
We are under doing upgrading assessment of Oracle Portal from 10g to 11g. After reviewed the 'upgrading guide', we still have some questions as below:
    1. Whether the 'Instant Portal' feature remain in Oracle Portal 11g? If yes, how to migrate the Instant Portal 10g sites? If no, any workaround?
    2. Whether the old 10g Page Group and Pages will be still available after 11g upgrade? Also can customer import the old 10g transportset into Portal 11g?
    3. How about the customized Portal 10g objects (such as customized template, style, attributes) after 11g upgrade? Still be usable?
    4. Customer use PDK to develop many portlets in 10g. Can they use JDeveloper 11g to migrate their old project to 11g automatically?
Thank you in advance and any comment are welcome.

    1. Whether the 'Instant Portal' feature remain in Oracle Portal 11g? If yes, how to migrate the Instant Portal 10g sites? If no, any workaround?Instant Portal is not available anymore in Oracle Portal 11g. The Instant Portal page groups will be migrated to standard Portal page groups. Maintenance of the Instant Portal can be done with the standard Portal tools. The Instant Portal tools are not available anymore.
Whether the old 10g Page Group and Pages will be still available after 11g upgrade? Also can customer import the old 10g transportset into Portal 11g?Old 10g Page Groups are migrated to Portal 11g. They will still be available after the upgrade.
Export/Import through transports sets has always been limited to instances of the same version. It is not supported between versions as documented in the Administration Guide :
    [11.2.1|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/portal.1111/e10239/cg_imex.htm#CCJBCCGD] System Requirements
Before exporting and importing content, ensure that your system meets the minimum system requirements, as described in this section.
    Notes:
    * Export and import functions only within the same release of Oracle Portal and the same patch release, for example, release 10.1.4 to release 10.1.4 or release 11.1.1 to release 11.1.1. You cannot export and import between two different releases, such as release 10.1.2 to release 10.1.4 or release 10.1.4 to release 11.1.1.
How about the customized Portal 10g objects (such as customized template, style, attributes) after 11g upgrade? Still be usable?Customized objects get migrated as well. Certain types (e.g. PL/SQL item types) need to be checked after upgrade as the behavior of the PL/SQL code may differ between database versions. This is particularly of concern when the 10.1.4.x Portal uses a 10.1 database. A database upgrade to either 10.2, 11.1 or 11.2 is necessary as Portal 11g is not supported with RDBMS 10.1.
Customer use PDK to develop many portlets in 10g. Can they use JDeveloper 11g to migrate their old project to 11g automatically?Never done this, but the Portal framework is able to consume JPDK providers which are running in older versions of the toolkit. If the providers are running in standalone OC4J containers, you would be able to upgrade the framework and keep the providers in their OC4J containers. This will allow you to focus on the framework first and worry about your providers later.
    Thanks,
    EJ

  • About GRC Delivered Rules

    Hi I'm new to GRC.
I installed GRC Compliance Collabirator but there is no data in it. No business processes, no functions, no risks though SAP should has provided a lot of delivered rules after installation.
I have gone through this forum and found the following information:
"As part of risk analysis and remediation of SAP's GRC Access Control application (formerly Compliance Calibrator), SAP delivers a set of Segregation of Duties rules. This delivered set of rules address many areas, but they are meant to be used as a base and each company must customize the rules for their environment. This is explained in detail in the GRC Access Control - Access Risk Management Guide (available on the Business Process Expert Community) and in SAP Note 986996.
The current delivered rulest contains the following rules:
    SAP
    256 risks
    44,337 action combinations
Can anyone tell me how I get these SAP delivered data?
    Thanks&regards
    Stellare

    Hi Stellare,
the rules and all data for the initial import are delivered with the Compliance Calibrator software.
There is a ZIP file called "5.2_text_files.zip" which contains all the files.

  • Question About OAS Portal and the DB conections

    Hi,
I 'm getting a lot of problems with the portal I'm creating, sometimes my DB goes down
    with this error:
Fallo de la llamada para ejecutar el origen de datos. [No se ha podido establecer la conexión.
This line in english says something like:
Fail calling to execute data. [ It was not possible to stablish the connection
[Listener refused the connection with the following error: ORA-12519, TNS:no appropriate service handler found The Connection descriptor used by the client was: desarrollo06:1521:infra ]so I have to but down all the services and then put them up again, including the DB, so everything works well again.
    I want to know:
    - How many omniportlets, or conections to the database Can handle the OAS Portal??
    - Does the omniportlet closes the conection when it loaded the information?
    - Can there be a problem if I use many omniportlets (I mean if they don't close their conection?)???
    - And If so, how can i fix that??
    thanks in advance,
    aTTe:
    Blume

    hi Blume,
    1. the number of connections Portal handles with your db are setup in JDBC Connection Pool parameter.
    2. don't think so.
    3. I think, yeah, some of them will be expected behavior (eg, number of connections limit is exceeded) and some of them are due to some bugs (see answer 4.)
    4. there are a few bugs related to this connection problem in Portal 10.1.4.
for instance, Check this note on Metalink (Doc ID:      394089.1) which says that:
"OMNIPortlet uses connection object from the JDBC connection pool. When the database is restarted, the cached connection is invalid and the exception wasn't being caught."
To fix that problem, you may need to apply a patch (Patch 5393955) on your portal midtier. You can get it from Metalink.
    5. btw, shutdown db may not be required to recover/restore connections; try simply restarting OC4J_Portal on AS Control Console.
    hope that helps!
