About IDoc to file scenarios, ack not possible

I almost work out this scenario except one error in XI, T-Code SXMB_MONI
Acknowledgment not possible
detail info is "Unable to convert the sender service FTP to an ALE logical system".
Because I create two business service for SAP ERP and FTP, no technical system in SLD.
Of course I assign the Logical system name to SAP ERP, and FTP has no Adapter specific identifiers.
It is not Ok to create another Logical system and partner profile for this.
Is there any expert can tell me what to do in this situation?

you need to do HEADER MAPPING in Receiver Agreement. Just define the sender logical system there and your problem will be solved...

Questions about IDoc to file scenario

I 'm confused, and have a few questions:
1, we need to define a product for it at least , assign it to either of the systems?
2, we don't have to configure an IDoc communication channel, do we?
3, does the receiver system (file/ftp) need a logical system? and define it by t-code BD54, in XI or R/3?
4, at least define techinical system and business system for R/3?
Can you explain the sld configuration to me ?

Ans: Sender agreement and Sender IDOC communication channel is not required as IDOC adapter
        resides on ABAP stack.

Ans: For third party system from ID create the business system and use that Business system for File or
        FTP system.
Business System.
1.Goto Business Landscape->New Business System->Name the business system.
2. Choose the technical system that needs to be attached->WebAS ABAP->Technical System Name.
Business System have an entry in the SLD and Buiness Service do not.
Business Systems are used when you are sending data to and from an R3 system and can be of ABAP, JAVA and Third Party Types.
Business System is a logical representation of a Technical System.
Business Service is a abstract representation of a System. For instance, www.google.com have a several system working together and IPs of this machines change eventually. When we use a Business Services like google we reference a computer that we don't know the phisical implementation.
4, at least define techinical system and business system for R/3?
Technical System
In SLD, click on technical landscape->New Technical System->WebAS ABAP.
Ans: Yes : Technical system is a phisical machine, it have a IP. Can be a BBDD, ERP, J2EE ......... a Business System is a logical term that we use into the Business Scenarios and represent these Technical System that we had created.
Can you explain the sld configuration to me ?
SLD is the place where u can define systems that are existing in ur landscape. using these systems u can transfer data from one system to another using PI.

How the data is sended in idoc to file scenario?
what is the difference in sending data through BD10, BD14 and WE19 ?
Is the data is sended through XI OR R/3 SYSTEM?

Idoc to file Scenario not working

Hi ALL,
I have created one Idoc -XI-File scenario.I have done all the preconfiguartion in Backend and XI.
Now when i am testing in we19, it is showing that Idoc is sent and saved in the database but when i am going to sm58, there it is showing Status field "No service for system SAPSAI, client 800 in Integration directory
Can anybody tell where i am going wrong???

Now i am able to see the message in sxmb_moni , it is showing Green status, but still am not getting the file in reciever side.
In communication channel monitoring it is showing green status,but not giving any messages theres
Any suggestions what do to next to get the file??

How to suppress the Acknowledgement Error in IDOC to File scenario?

Hi -
I got the status in SXMB_MONI as 'Processed Successfully' for the IDOC to File scenario but the Acknoledgement status throws an error saying 'Acknowledgement not possible'.
I read one of the documents in the forums on how to suppress the acknowledgement using a table on R/3 side using IDXNOALE,
i tried that option but i still get the 'Acknowledgement not possible' error.
Is there any other way to suppress this error?

Hi Tirumal,
Receiver adapters that run on the Adapter Engine support system acknowledgments if they are requested by the sender. Acknowledgements are triggered when a message is successfully processed by the adapter or if an error occurs while it is being processed. Receiver adapters do not support application acknowledgments. The RNIF and CIDX adapters are exceptions to this rule, since they also support scenario-dependent application acknowledgments. Sender adapters of the Adapter Engine do not request any acknowledgments.
This means, JDBC adapter does only send system acks, however IDoc adapter is requesting application acks. Therefore as mentioned by the previous poster, you have to disable acks for this scenario using report IDX_NOALE.

IDOC to File Scenario: Locking/Packets

hi,
I have an IDOC to File Scenario.
I would like to know if there are some best practices/solutions to the following approach:
1. IDOC is sent to XI and XI transfers the file to Legacy System(Mainframe)
2. Mainframe processess the file based on the filename.
Question
SAP Keeps writing the to the file and there will be changes to the file with addition of records.
Is there a process from SAP XI to tell that it has processed the file successfully, Legacy would process the file even if the File has been processed/processing records.?
What are the different ways SAP XI can tell that it has processed the file successfully.

Hi,
Application acknowledgement is not possible with file system. (i.e, XI has no way of knowing if the message sent to the file has been succesfully processed.)
It can support only system acknowledgements, (i.e, XI will get a response saying, the message has reached the destination.)
In order to receive acks, you would have to configure a BPM in this scenario.

IDOC to file scenario

Hi Experts,
In IDOC to file scenario i did in this way.
1)created logical system.
2)Using SALE tcode I assign logical system to client ,created RFC destination,Port and Partner's profile.
It is showing all the thing correct.
3) In XI system , I configured using IDX1 and IDX2.
Then I created the material and checked the status which is green in we05.
But in tcode IDX5, the material is not coming.
Here I am confused that why data is not coming to XI system.
can anyone help me?

Hi,
The Following are the Possible checks
1) Check in R/3 side SMQ1 & SMQ2
2) Check in R/3 side SM58
   In R/3 system, Goto SM58 tcode and see if the IDOC have stuck up in Queue.
   If the entry is available then select it and press F6, to push it manually.
    This happens normally if IDOC stuck up in queues.
3) Check in PI SMQ2 and IDX5

Issues in IDOC to File scenario using bussiness service

I found a blog which explains about the IDOC to FILE scenario by using bussinss services. I followed the steps and finally i am getting a error message while posting an idoc in we19 (ie IDOC 09878 was saved but cannot or should not be sent). The setting which have done on SAP side are as below
SAP SIDE CONFIGURATIONS
1. Created RFC destination : RFC_XI_SYSTEM
2. Created port : PORT_TEST
3. created logical system: IDOC2FILE
4. created partner profiles: IDOC2FILE
XI side configurations
1. Created RFC destination: RFC_SAP_SYSTEM
2. Created port : by using IDX1 t-code
DOUBT: here it is asking for PORT, CLIENT,Description and RFC destination, please let me know what values i need to put here, please find the SAP and XI system details below and suggest accordingly.
3. metadata: by using idx2.
DOUBT: here it is asking for IDOC type and source port, i can give the idoc name but i am not getting what i need to give to source prort field, please check and let me know, please find the SAP and XI system details below and suggest accordingly.
SAP system details
Client: 800
User name: sapuser
system id: DEV
system number:10
XI system details
Client:100

Idoc to file scenario general query

Hi All,
I know about the basic settings needed for the Idoc to file scenario.
My query is related the idoc /ALE settings.
I have a scenatio wrking in my system where we have configured the port for B type partner and also the port as XML-HTTP
I can not see any DM(BD64) created for it basically.I want to know that in what scenarios the BD64 configuration is required.
Or it is the case that if we define the BD64 then we do not need to configure we20 and we21, it will be auto configured?
Please let me know the use cases for these different configurations if any.

Hi Rahul,
BD64 uses mostly IDoc to IDoc scenarios because the IDoc consults the distribution model and determines whether any filter objects are specified for a receiver.
WE20 and WE21 (Partner Profile,Port Definition) we have to define in any scenarios where ECC included.

I have made a IDOC to file scenario (IDOC has business system and file has business service) which is working fine.
But In sxmb_moni of XI it says Acknowledgement not possible.

I thought i will just share a few basic thoughts that you need to take care while doing an IDOC to File Scenario. Just see if it helps you in anyways.
While doing an IDOC -> XI -> File scenario, The Points to noted are:
1. You dont need a DT, MT or a message interface for the IDOC as it itself acts as the Message Interface.
2. You import the IDOC and use the same in your mapping.
3. In this configuration note that you dont have a sender agreement as you dont have a sender IDOC adapter.

points 1 and 2 will remain, but the 3 will not. You will need a sender agreement for the file and a receiver agreement for the IDOC.
