About installing bluetooth driver

I have installed the railink bluetooth driver from the hp site. The setup has been installed but i am unable to find the option of bluetooth in the change pc settings option. Also when i checked the device manager i found that railink bluetooth PCIe adapter is working properly on my laptop. At the same time i found that PCI device driver is not available on the system and i am unable to find PCI driver on internet for my laptop. Please suggest something.

I grasp that you have installed the Bluetooth driver for your notebook but are unable to find Bluetooth options under PC settings.
When you checked Device Manager you are missing a PCI driver and have been unable to locate one.
When I checked the specifications for your notebook I see it came with FreeDos 2.0.

  • Computer freezes when installing bluetooth driver

    Hi
I've bought a bluetooth USB dongle with toshiba bluetooth software. The installation freezes at the very end of the progress bar for installing the driver. I'm using Windows XP V. 5.1 SP2. Comm ports currently in use are 1,2,3,5 and one called "BT Port" (COM65) which may be blue tooth but may alternatively be something to do with BT broadband which is installed on the machine. In device manager "Network Adaptors" shows "Bluetooth Personal Area Network" and Bluetooth shows RFBNEP, RFBUS, RFCOMM, RFHID and Generic Bluetooth radio. The Bluetooth local COM utility in Control Panel shows no com ports in use. Any ideas?
    Thanks
    David

Hi - thanks for input. Have found and disabled sony ericsson software from my old phone which apparently included a bluetooth monitor on COM 500 (although there was no reference to this anywhere else!).
I removed them completely anyway. Still getting the same result however. Last thing to be reported during the install is "Bluetooth Audio Device (WDM)". The progress bar gets all the way to the end and then it freezes - can't use Task Manager or anything and I have to do a hard reset.
I'm installing Bluetooth USB Adapter V2.0 + EDR off the CD. The dongle is plugged into a USB hub (not into the back of the computer - I've run out of USB connections at the back since they are full of things that can't be plugged into a hub).
The install does seem to recognise the device, however, since on one occasion I didn't have it plugged in. It asked me to insert the device about a third of the way through the install and proceeded ok immediately I plugged it in (and then froze again at the end).
Couldn't find anything regarding a "bluetooth monitor" - is this part of Windows? (no reference to it in Help Files). Getting frustrated as you can imagine!! Is there a more recent version of the stack software that I can download - I've looked right through the Toshiba site but can't find anything obvious.
Many thanks for your reply and hoping you have further suggestions

  • Can't Install bluetooth driver on Windows 8 64 bit. MSI GE620DX

I cant install the provided  Windows 8 64bit Bluetooth driver from the MSI download page. Tried many times, Reboot Uninstall current driver, install again, and ETC.
I had sent a question to MSI already, it's been a month already since I sent a ticket and I still got no update or fix from MSI Support.
Does MSI support usually take this long to provide fix or reply for this kind of issues? I felt disregarded cause I haven't got any reply aside from the advise to download the driver on the MSI download page; which is the driver that is not working. I've already sent them a message that It won't work. -_-
The Bluetooth function of my Laptop is useless as of now.
Does anyone here encountered a Driver problem similar to mine?

I finally got this fixed. I uninstalled all Bluetooth related drivers and programs using Ccleaner and clean all its traces in the registry as well, rebooted and tried installing the provided Bluetooth driver provided on the MSI Download Page and succeeded.

popped out which says that Bluetooth adapter cannot be detected in your system. Is there any problem with my Bluetooth adapter hardware? Can anyone suggest me a way to get rid of this problem?  Thanking you in advance.

try uninstalling all the drivers you just installed for your printer and plug in your printer and run software update from the  on the upper left of the screen. if there are no drivers available for that, you might have to wait as suggested by your local apple tech.

There are a number of posts related to accessing and/ copying issues between Windows Vista / 7 and AirPort Disks. Two potential solutions being forwarded are: 1) Changing the LAN Manager authentication level, and/or 2) Disabling the Windows Search feature.
To change the LAN Manager authentication level:
From the Windows Vista / 7 desktop, click Start
    Search for: security
    Click 'Local Security Policy'
Goto Local Policies > Security Options
Under Policy, double-click 'Network security: LAN Manager authentication level'
Change level to: Send LM & NTLM responses
Under Policy, double-click 'Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including RPC) clients'
    De-select 'Require 128-bit encryption'
    Click OK
     To disable Windows Search:
Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features
On the right-hand side, click "Turn Windows features on/off"
Scroll down, and de-select "Windows Search".
Press OK, close all windows and restart.
A third "solution," that has worked for me, is verify that both the AirPort base station and the Win7 PC are using the exact same Workgroup Name. In my case, I use "WORKGROUP" (without the quote marks) for this name. From the AirPort Utility, you would enter this value on the Disks > File Sharing tab. On Win7, Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System > Change Settings > Change > Workgroup

  • T500 Bluetooth driver upgrade problem, risk of wiping the harddrive

    Hi,
I tried to upgrade my bluetooth driver on my laptop. The upgrade failed. After that I get an error when the computer starts.
"The program can't start because btwhidcs.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"
When I try to reinstall, first all goes well. At the last part of the installation I get an "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly"
When I search on google this seems like a common problem. But I haven't found a solution for it anywhere.
What I did found that for some people files where deleted on the system drive when they tried to uninstall their old driver.
Here are some people that lost data on their harddrive when trying to uninstall the old driver.
    Unable to install bluetooth driver
    Broadcom bluetooth
Bluetooth with enhanced data rate software II
Bluetooth update killed my Windows 7
installation of bluetooth driver error 1935
Potential data wipe while updating x220 bluetooth driver
Widcomm uninstallation wipes out the computer
Lenovo and others seems to have suggested to uninstall the old driver when people have requested help.
    Bluetooth installation problem
Here I found some posts that might help with finding a solution. It is about kb970652. Not sure what needs to be done though.
    Error 1935
This seems like a known problem that should be fixed in version 6.4 version of the drivers.
Installation of bluetooth driver error 1935
but there is no post in the thread with the new drivers or information about them.  After a lot of searching I found a post where Lenovo went out with a warning. The warning is here:
Please note - Report - Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II for Windows 7 wipe main drive
There are updated drivers in the post. But they seem not to be for the T500 and on the download page T500 there is no new version of the drivers.
I talked to Lenovo support a couple of times but they say they only handle hw problems. They recommended removal of devices in Device Manager, uninstall reinstall etc. But after all posts of lost data I don't want to try to uninstall if I am not sure it will not corrupt my computer. I asked them if they could forward to their team to update drivers for the t500 but they seem not to have done that.
Right now I have no working bluetooth anymore.
We have hundreds of lenovo laptops in our offices and I really would like to know if we risk risk data loss if a user uninstalls bluetooth drivers. How could we upgrade them to remove this risk?
    So my questions are:
Does anyone know what versions of the drivers are unsafe to uninstall and what versions are safe to uninstall?
How can you fix broken updates? Like on my T500. There is no new driver for it on it's download page?
What is the way to upgrade bluetooth on "unsafe" machines (where uninstallation of bluetooth would corrupt them)?

    Hello and welcome,
The last post in a long thread on this topic links to a driver for the T500 among other machines.  I haven't tried it myself.
OS wiped out during Bluetooth drivers update

  • Bluetooth driver won't work on my Satellite Pro 6100

    Hello
My Bluetooth stopped working after some updates (I forget what they were!). I have attempted many times to reinstall the BT driver from Toshiba but it just "stops" part of the way through the install - I have left it for well over 30 minutes at this point.
I have looked in the system/hardware/other devices and there is something called SiW, I'm assuming this is the BT device as I can't find anything labelled Bluetooth. I should point out that Bluetooth did work before and nothing has been removed from the computer!
Anybody any ideas/solutions to this problem?
    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi
Its not easy to say what why you cannot install Bluetooth driver.
I would recommend to reinstall the Toshiba Bluetooth completely form the OS.
Be sure that MS Bluetooth was also removed
Then reboot the unit and try to install the Toshiba Bluetooth stack again.

  • Cannot install BT driver

For last few days I was not able to use my Bluetooth and wireless connection. Then when I was trying to install Bluetooth driver on my Toshiba Satellite M645 - PSMPML-00UOO5 it shows the message "Could not turn Bluetooth power on. Please turn on wireless communication switch located on side of main unit." but i am not understanding this.
    Where is the switch?

According posted part number you have an Asian notebook model and it is not known to me.
Anyway, I presume the principle how it works must be the same for all Toshiba models so for enabling WLAN or BT module you must use FN+F8 key combination.
Please check it out and post some feedback.

  • Downloading and Installing Tuner driver - Qosmio G20

Excuse my ignorance, but I have downloaded a zip folder from the Toshiba site containing files for installing a tv tuner driver(date last modified 11.24.05) for my Qosmio G20 - 139(PQG21E-01500NEN). The instructions say: '...check the contents of the zip file for installation details', but I cannot find/recognise a file that offers such instructions (there are a few I've clicked on that offer up a warning about opening files, so, being a novice in these things, I chose not to continue).
Can anyone advise me upon what file contains installation instructions, or how I should go about installing this driver?
Thanks in advance for any help given.

Hello Feliks. Thank you for your reply. To try and answer your questions:
    1) I am not really sure the TV Tuner must be installed. I, in my innocence, thought it might be an update.
    2) Under Device Manager entries (and thank you for telling me where to look!) there is a listing: TOSHIBA PCI DVB-T/Analogue Hybred Tuner.
I am presuming this is the entry that relates to the TV Tuner. I tried updating the driver from there (just out of interest) by entering the path to where the dowloaded driver resides, and the message I got was (paraphrasing) 'No newer version of the driver already installed found'
So, perhaps I've just been leading myself (and those who have tried to help) up the garden path.
Once again, thank you for your help.
