    I assume your are running on a Unix platform? If so, it looks like you don't
    have the native implementation file from the vendor (usually a shared
    library file with a ".so" extension) in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment
    variable.

  • JNI Unsatisfied Link Error

    Hello All:
    I have some java code that calls a C function in a dll. I have succesfully used the javah utility to generate the header file for my jni native implementation code and have build both the client java code as well as the dll using g++3.0 using Bloodshed Dev C++ (an open source IDE). When I go to execute the java code I get an unsatisfied link error saying my function is not recognized by the jvm. Does anyone have any suggestions on this issue?? I am using Win2k and jdk 1.4.1
    Here is what I've already tried:
    1) Have added the directory where the java class file as well as the dll to my PATH variable, I have even put the dll files in the jdk bin directory
    2) My dll loads three other dll's and calls a function in one of those dll's, I am using the loadLibrary function to load these dll's and am using function pointers to reference the actual function in the dll
    I was wondering if its a problem if I use g++ to build my dll, does the virtual machine assume by default that gcc is used, please let me know.
    Any help is much appreciated
    Thanks

    I've looked through the various postings on this issue and have tried some or all of the suggestions that were made relevant to my problem but I still keep getting this error. As a result I am attaching some code here:

  • Unsatisfied link error in mac osx 10.2.3

    Hi,
    unsatisfied link error in mac osx 10.2.3
    can you solve the problem why the error is occuring when i am trying to set port for printer .after seting port in the application then the swiping takes place. as the application is running but unable to communicate to wireless printer through bluetooth. as everything is fine (files like cu.dev and tty.dev are created in mac and i selected that file and saved it.swiping is not done through wireless ). the error i got is
    ERROR LOADING linuxSerialParallel:java.lang.unsatisfiedLinkError: no linux serialparallel in java library.path
    java.lang.unsatisfiedlinkerror:is session active
    please respond immediately regarding this issue
    thanking you,

    Your problem is definitely not related to 'Community Feedback and Suggestions'. And I cannot see any relationship to Oracle (at least according to the given informations).

  • How do I fix a "Unsatisfied link error"?

    ProQuest provides a Java application for auto parts. It did function on my system [10.3.9 with all updates]. After logging in on a web site, a "jnlp" file is loaded to the desktop. Double clicking this file causes another download to load the auto parts database.
    But now a, JAVA error Exception reads:
    java.lang.Unsatisfied Link Error: no hpwin32 in java.library.path
    However a similar file "hpwin32.dll" is in: user/Library/caches/JavaWeb Start/cache/http/Depe.startekinfo.com /... /RN client-native.jar/hpwin32.dll
    I deleted the "Depe.startekinfo.com " folder, but it reappeared after logging into their site.
    Security is set to accept all cookies and using Safari and Firefox produces same result.
    Suggestions are appreciated.

    The default VISA timeout is 2 seconds, so your program is missing a byte and timing out.  You might want to log your serial port traffic to see the actual data coming through.  Portmon is a fantastic tool for debugging serial applications: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896644.aspx

  • Unsatisfied Link Error when using Oracle OCI (Type II) driver

    Using Oracle OCI (Type II) driver on HPUX with Oracle 9.2.0.4.
    If when creating a connection pool via the console, using the Oracle OCI (Type
    II) driver, you get the error "Unsatisfied link error with library libocijdbc9.sl
    or format error" then check that the library included in the SHLIB_PATH is pointing
    at the $ORACLE_HOME/lib32 directory and not just the $ORACL_HOME/lib

    We do not offer a JDBC driver for Linux in version 5.1. In version 6.0,we
    do offer a type 4 driver for Linux.
    In version 5.1, I suggest trying the platform independent type 4 JDBC driver
    available for free from Oracle. It is supported (as is any JDBC driver)
    with WebLogic Server. To download it:
    Go to http://www.oracle.com and select the "Download" option.
    From the resulting page, use the "Select Utility or Driver" dropdown to
    select Oracle JDBC drivers
    From the resulting page, scroll down a little (since SQLJ stuff appears at
    the top).
    Or, to go directly there:

    hello
    I am having problem with my j3d. I have installed it properly but for some functions there is an exception.
    i.e Unsatisfied linker error

    Hi ,
    You may need to link with libCrun.so.1 to get these symbols resolved.
    % nm libCrun.so.1 | grep rethrow
    [214] | 20324| 60|FUNC |GLOB |0 |12 |__1cG__CrunKex_rethrow6F_v_
    [216] | 20696| 276|FUNC |GLOB |0 |12 |__1cG__CrunMex_rethrow_q6F_v_
    Add this to the link line -lCrun and you should be good to go.

  • Standalone OC4J 9.0.4 - Loading Native Libraries - Unsatisfied Link Error

    Hello,
    I incidentally happen to have a similar problem as has been described in several posts in this forum. The problem is that of loading Native libraries in OC4J.
    The scenario is
    1) Environment is Standalone OC4J 9.0.4, Windows 2000, JDK 1.4.2
    2) A Java wrapper loads DLL1 which internally loads DLL2.
    (To be more specific the DLL1 is a SAPSSOEXT.DLL and the DLL2 is SAPSECU.DLL. These are used for establishing SSO with SAP portal)
    The phase-1 of Java wrapper loading DLL1 is achieved by setting either the PATH or the java.library.path variables.
    The phase-2 of DLL1 loading DLL2 is what is failing with an Unsatisfied Link Error.
    Since I am using a standalone version and not a OC4J app-server, the OPMN related configuration for specified PATH variables will not be relevant here. Is there any other place where I can configure these.
    regards
    Shivaram

    A small correction to my observation above.
    The call to load DLL1 via System.loadLibrary() is successful. However when I attempt to call any method on it it fails with UnsatisfiedLinkError.
    Contrary to what was written above the error occured even before DLL1 attempted to load DLL2.
    So why is it that the call to loadLibrary is successful but the call to actual function is failing? (This works flawlessly on the command line)
    Is this a path problem, if so how do I configure it in OC4J standalone. Variables PATH, java.library.path, LD_LIBRARY_PATH none of them seem to have any effect on this.
    I tried debugging using a windows file monitor. The library DLL1 is being read from the correct path and is being opened successfully.
    Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  • Jni - unsatisfied link errors in packages

    I am trying to run a test Java program that uses JNI in Win2k. I only have two classes, so I am experimenting with putting them in a package. When I do that I get unsatisfied link errors at runtime that I don't get when they are not in a package.
    I don't get exceptions on the loadLibrary call, for some reason, only when I make a call to the native code.
    Any ideas??? Speculations? Do I need to set some sort of path env variable, other than "path" to find the library (like Unix)? I'm new at this windows stuff.
    Thanks in advance ...
    Maggie

    I got it! I needed to put the package name in front of the class name in the C file.

I saw newsgroup Install section somebody said it is a RSA bug and BEA is working with them to fix it and right now just ignore the error print stack, is that true?

  • Unsatisfied Link error.

    Hello ,
    I am new to JNI.
    I am getting an Unsatified link error.
    My code is
    public class DisplayMessage {
         static {
               Runtime.getRuntime().loadLibrary("MessaageHandler") ;
                         public static void main(String args[]) {
                                     printMessage() ;
                      public static native void printMessage() ;
    }I have checked the path of my dll. there dont seem to be problem in that. It seems as if the system is not able to find method printMessag() present in the dll.
    Here is the error that I am getting.
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: printMessage
         at DisplayMessage.printMessage(Native Method)
         at DisplayMessage.main(DisplayMessage.java:11)Please point me out, what mistake i am doing.

    Hi Oven,
    Thanks for your reply.
    But I have already tried what you had suggested.
    I tried runing my program with the -D option. I have also tried including my dll in the system path.
    I tried running the program after copying my dll at all places like the current directory, Systems directory, The JRE directory, the lib/ext directory and severel other possibl;e places. But still I get the same error.
    I was getting a different error initially which said.
    "No main found in MessageHandler"
    This I suppose I was getting because the path of the Dll was not set properly.
    But now the error is related to the method defined in the dll "printMessage()".
    I have also checked the signature of the method. Everything seems to be fine.
    Please anybody suggest me a way.
    Also If anyone can tell me how I can call a win32 API through java. I hope the way to call a win32 API is the same as calling printMessage() .
    For example I want to call a API InitiateSystemShutDown() in a dll. advapi32.dll.

    However if you failed to load the library then you cannot get the error that you posted unless you are ignoring the exception from the load() call. And doing that is a bad idea.
    At least if the library is not loading.
    If it is loading then the method that you use to load it has nothing to do with your problem.

  • Unsatisfied Link Error and creating DLL error

    I am having some problems getting my DLL to work properly. I am following the basic Hello World example and seem to be getting a problem.
    I am running on Windows XP with, j2sdk1.4.2_04, and using the gcc that comes with Dev-C++ (Bloodshed). The following is the steps I went through.
    1. Create a basic Java program.
    * Sample program for testing JNI Interfaces
    public class HelloWorld
    //Define the Native interface
    public native void displayHelloWorld( String prompt );
    * The following is the main method. It will perform the
    * JNI call to displayHelloWorld
    * @param args
    public static void main(String[] args)
    System.out.println("Start of program");
    System.loadLibrary("HelloWorld");
    System.out.println("Loaded Library");
    HelloWorld test = new HelloWorld();
    System.out.println("Created Class");
    test.displayHelloWorld("JNI Hello World Program");
    System.out.println("Called Function");
    2. I compile the above program with out any problems
    3. I run the command javah HelloWorld and it generates the following header file
    /* DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE - it is machine generated */
    #include <jni.h>
    /* Header for class HelloWorld */
    #ifndef IncludedHelloWorld
    #define IncludedHelloWorld
    #ifdef __cplusplus
    extern "C" {
    #endif
    * Class: HelloWorld
    * Method: displayHelloWorld
    * Signature: (Ljava/lang/String;)V
    JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_HelloWorld_displayHelloWorld
    (JNIEnv *, jobject, jstring);
    #ifdef __cplusplus
    #endif
    #endif
    4. Create the C source file
    #include <jni.h>
    #include "HelloWorld.h"
    #include <stdio.h>
    JNIEXPORT void JNICALL
    Java_HelloWorld_displayHelloWorld(JNIEnv *env, jobject obj, jstring pString)
    printf("Hello world! %s\n", pString);
    return;
    5. I compile the program using the following command
    gcc -IC:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\include -IC:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\include\win32 -c HelloWorld.c
    The gcc compiler generates the HelloWorld.o without errors
    6. I then try to create the dll using the following command:
    dllwrap -IC:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\include -IC:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\include\win32 --dllname HelloWorld.dll HelloWorld.o
    The program spits out the following warning
    Warning: no export definition file provided
    dllwrap will create one, but may not be what you want
    It creates the dll succussfully
    7. I run the Java program
    java HelloWorld and I get the following output
    Start of program
    Loaded Library
    Created Class
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: displayHelloWorld
    at HelloWorld.displayHelloWorld(Native Method)
    at HelloWorld.main( HelloWorld.java:25)
    So I try to generate the definition file for the dll (I saw from previous posting)
    8. I run the following command
    dlltool -z HelloWorld.def HelloWorld.o
    It generates the following file Helloworld.def
    ; dlltool -z HelloWorld.def HelloWorld.o
    EXPORTS
    Java_HelloWorld_displayHelloWorld@12 @ 1 ;
    9. I modifiy the HelloWorld.def (as described in other postings)
    ; dlltool -z HelloWorld.def HelloWorld.o
    EXPORTS
    Java_HelloWorld_displayHelloWorld @ 1 ;
    10. I then try to recreate the dll using the def again using the command
    C:\F_Drive\Apps\C_Samples\hello>dllwrap -IC:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\include -IC:\j2sdk1.4
    .2_04\include\win32 dllname HelloWorld.dll def HelloWorld.def HelloWorld.o
    It gives me the following error when trying to create the dll.
    HelloWorld.exp(.edata+0x38):fake: undefined reference to `Java_HelloWorld_displa
    yHelloWorld'
    dllwrap: gcc exited with status 1
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks

    Try the --kill-at flag on the compile line, and don't bother with the .def file, you shouldn't need it.
    See http://bleaklow.com/blog/archive/000162.html for a detailed dissertation on how I got this to work for me.
