About languages settings in sun convergence.

I've installed SJCS7 on RedHat. There are users who get another language in convergence that don't supporting. When i find this link

-added link in down part iwc_static/layout/login.html
-added language in drop down menu "opton->general->language"
-changes(small part) that contains in resources.js gregorian.js
But it no full transtation, js files(resources.js gregorian.js) contain the directives in my case : get_mail_btn: compose_btn: 'months-format-abbr' , 'months-format-wide', ect.
When I can find full list directives of all web elements the convergence (mail, calendar, adressbook etc) for language's translation?

Sun Convergence default language

Question. Does anybody know, how to change default language of Sun Convergence client.
Changeing base.defaultlocale to different locale does not solve the problem.
After user logs out of the client it is redirected back to "en-us" loacle.

Any idea where does "lang" parameter comes from?

Any idea where does "lang" parameter comes from?The value of the "lang" parameter for the login page is dictated by the end-user browser preferences. So if the browser is configured to have a preferred language of "en-us" then you will see "lang=en-us".

Language Settings

I’m wondering how I can change the default language settings on my Macbook (10.4.7), to Canadian English; it’s spelt “colour,” “Jail,” “Centre” and “Center” (no typo).
I need this done, because my essays have to be in Canadian English. So far the best I can do is British English. I have it semi adjusted in iWork, but not in my system preferences.

That doesn't say anything good about their expertise.
To select any input language on a Mac you go to System Preferences/International/Input Menu, check the box for the keyboard you want, plus the box for "show input menu in Finder," and then go to the "flag" menu at the top right of the Finder and select the language you want, and then type. To see which key does what, you activate Keyboard Viewer just like you activate a keyboard.
You can also type the characters you need directly from the US layout. Here is a chart of the key combos:

Hello there...
As you all probably know it's possible to have multiple menu backgrounds, different button text, different subtitles and audio with dvd studio pro. BUT (yes.. there is one big but in all this) i have a problem when it comes to menus for diferent languagues.
I know how to make a script to select an audio ou subtitle stream acording to user input (in a language menu).
My question is: if dvd studio allows you to use diferent menu layouts for diferent project languages, why it doesn't lets you point a script to a specific menu language, "forcing" you to make 2 menus? I mean... the software will read the language value in the sprm, but if the dvd player language settings are different from the avaiable languages on your project? why there isn't a way to choose custum script no select the language instead of forcing it to only realy the sprm value?
Or there's one, and it's me that need to learn a little more about dvdsp ?
Can someone please help me with this?

The KOffice apps have quite some options for saving files. KWord can do it in MS Word, MS Write and RTF amongst others. The import filters may not be working all too well, have a look at the Supported File Formats. I can't really tell about the quality of those filter, because I for myself have to handle just PDF-files most of the time, and my former MS Word & MS Excel files are not that important (means I don't really care, if I have to make a fresh start with my docs when going with KOffice).

Temporary Internet Files Settings. Sun JVM 1.5.0_05

We are migrating our Oracle Forms 6i (Client-Server) application to web based Oracle Forms 10g. This is a 3 tier architecture. The application runs using Java Applet (Sun JRE 1.5.0_05) in Internet Explorer on Windows XP.
Oracle Forms 10g uses Java classes for its own purpose which Oracle has supplied them in a JAR files.
Oracle recommends that we should cache these JAR files onto the client machine in order to load the application faster.
We have followed that recommendation. The application is working well and the JAR files are also getting cached onto the client machine.
So far so good. But the real problem begins now.
On Windows XP, the Sun JRE caches these JAR files under the users' profiles settings. Precisely the path reads as below:
Documents and Settings\<userid>\Application data\Sun\Java\Deployment\Cache\javaapi\v1.0\jar
Storing these files has got two disadvantages:
1) Traffic, Bandwidth and Time : Since our users have got the roaming profile, all the files under their profile moves with their Login into Windows and log-off from Windows. Not only does this traffic incur network round trip between a PC and server, it also consumes the precious bandwidth and considerable amount of time when they login into the Windows.
2) Storage Space : As per our oraganisation's policy, each user's profile is allocated 8MB of space. The total size of all the JAR files is about 4MB which leaves them with almost no space in their profile and it frequently pops-up an annoying message *"You have exceeded your profile storage space...".*
The solution to above two problems is that we store these JAR files into some other folder for e.g. C:\temp.
Changing the location of Temporary files can be done in two ways:
Solution 1) Either by going to Java Control Panel -> General tab -> Temporary Internet Files -> Settings.
OR
Solution 2) By going into deployment.properties file which resides under the Documents and Settings\<userid>\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment folder.
However, Solution 1 is not feasible considering we have got more than 1000 users. Hence it is ruled out.
Solution 2 is also not feasible since deployment.properties file gets created ONLY after the Java applet is loaded first time when the user hits URL of our application.
In view of the limitations of above two solutions, we are looking for the Registry settings of Sun JRE in which we can specify the location of temporary files for Java.
While Googling for the Registry key, I found that in the previous version of Sun JRE i.e. 1.4.2, there was a registry key called USER_JPI_PROFILE.
I tried creating this environment variable in the Registry but it didn't work. I suppose that Sun has de-supported this environment variable with the version 1.5.
Our application has not gone into production yet. But the above two issues pose a serious threat to the implementation of our application.
So here comes my question to you. Is there any Registry settings you are aware of that serves my purpose ?
Also, other than the Registry Settings, if by any other means my original problem (storing the temp. files in other folder) could be resolved, please let me know.
Any of your ideas/suggestions/help will be much appreciated and are most welcome.

I can not pass the language settings menu

Hello,
Since I have tried to get the latest build of Apple TV, my apple TV can not pass the language settings menu. I choose my language and then it loops back to language settings menu.
I have restored twice from iTunes, plug and unplug from the tv, the electric network, and so on, but it does the same loop.
Anybody has solved this problem ?

If you can't get past the lock screen when you slide to unlock, try rebooting your iPad and then try again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Live id 'bubble' by language; msn/bing detects language settings

Because I value my privacy and really detest being 'bubbled' [force-fed geo-specific content] I like to use an anonymiser, in this case Anonymox. Recently, trying to set up a new hotmail address using a US IP, no cookies on board [either ordinary of flash] and a clean cache, I had the unsettling experience of the live-id signup site forcing me to a UK hotmail suffix based on I knew not what skerrick of info I'd unwittingly left snoopable by them.
Thanks to support @ a nonymox, it was discovered that the live-id sign on site was bubbling me according to my LANGUAGE SETTINGS! I basically prefer the UK version of the English language to the US version, and the site was trawling for this and using it to bubble me.
So I'm not aware of any setting within FF, or extension I could obtain, which would protect me against this sort of incursion by a website. Does anyone know of a 'Don't tell sites I visit ANY frigging thing about my machine, applications or settings[unless I give special permission]' extension?
OR
Could developers at FF please build this protection in?
Or is it just that I need to clue self in better re:strengthening privacy settings?

the accept-language field is part of the basic http protocol & is sent in every http request header, see:

How do Sun Convergence Communicate with LDAP?

Please tell how do sun convergence communicate with LDAP server.what api do these calls use.and where do we can find it.
Looked at the login page,it is was calling iwc.protocol.iwcp.LOGIN_URL variable.
login_url was assign as below:
iwc.protocol.iwcp.LOGIN_URL = iwc.config.session.contextPath + "/svc/iwcp/login.iwc";
please let us know what is iwcp ?
And what is contextPath its refering?
Also please let us know what kind of frame work does convergence uses to communicate with LDAP.
If possible,advice some documentation to read about this function.

Blackberry APP world language settings

I was going through the categories on the App world on my Curve and for some reason all of the headings are in French. My carrier is Virgin mobile and i live in Toronto so I'm not sure what prompted the change. I recently upgraded to the latest version of App world so I'm not too sure if that anything to do with it. Is it possible to change the language settings back to English or am I going to have to brush up on my French from now on?

I fixed this issue about a week ago. Here is what I did:
Go to your language settings, and change it from english to whichever you choose, then change it back to english. If it doesn't work the first time, do it again, then turn off your phone, pull the battery and check.
I did this a couple of times, and eventually it fixed the issue and has never returned.

When i try login i can see web mail server also but i can not access the calender and can not login to IM ( i check svcs -a my im running well),
does any one have guide for setup calender 7 and Im 8x in Sun Convergence ?

If you want the calendar service in Convergence you will need to install and configure Calendar Server 6.3.
With regards to Instant Messaging Server, you will need to provide more details about what isn't working.
What do you mean by "can not login to IM"?
Are you able to access Instant Messaging server via the Java IM client?

Sun Convergence for user with disabled calendar service

I have Communication Suite 7 installed with the "Sun Convergence" web interface.
I create a test user with a disabled calendar service (service package platinum).
The user test logged in in Sun Convergence web interface and I'm surprised,
that the calendar for him is available.
How can I disable the calendar view in Sun Convergence for user with disabled calendar service?

This means Convergence cannot automatically assume a user is not able to access the Calendar service based on the users current objectclass/attribute settings.
This leads to an existing bug for Convergence:
Bug#6871400 - "Mail only user is able to access the calendar service"
I've also created a new Change Request for Calendar Server:
RFE#6898717 - "local.autoprovision should be disabled by default"
Please raise this issue with Sun support (log a support request) if you believe the current behaviour is confusing/needs changing (i.e. fix the bug/RFE above).

Sun Convergence - allow access with spaces as password

Hi,
We've discovered that Sun Convergence log in as any user when we write space sign without any other signs in password field. It's lok like ldap search (or bind) command fails if only spaces are in password field.
We use:
- Convergence with patch 12 and 10.
- Directory Server 5.2 (not recomennded, but on compatibile list)
We read some threards about similar problem with LDAP auth, but ... thera are not Sun Products. I suspect that problem are in LDAP (implementation Convergence requests).
We have temporary workaround, but ... it very bad. Any people have acces to any known user.
I woonder if some other have similar problem
