About LTE in Russia

Good day to you.
Lately I've been very disappointed policies in your company. After purchasing the phone from one of your official retailers, I was expecting to use it to the fullest. But I was forced to face the fact that it is not possible.I can not use the fourth generation mobile networks due to the fact that access to them is blocked by software manufacturer. December 5 search was filmed Software based ban on the use of LTE networks for mobile operator Beeline. This fact was the last straw. If you have studied the market of Russian mobile operators, you would know that the mobile operator, though one of the largest, the quality of his work far from acceptable. And instead of quality work LTE network, users of your devices have received a lot of inconvenience.
I have a question for you gentlemen: How long to wait the rest of your phone owners unlock capabilities of devices to use LTE? In the end we paid for these devices the money and want to get the result.
Hoping for a speedy reply.
Regards,
George Egiazaryan

It's a scream of soul... This is anfair...

  • IPad air and LTE in Germany with O2

When can you expect that with the Ipad air and the Mini retina can be used also LTE by O2 in Germany
The frequency bands of the Ipdas are identical to those of the IPhone 5S - why is the function at O2 still not teleased?
Sice already the TouchID when the IPad was saved and do not exist, the lack of LTE keep coverage now but certainly me from a purchase.
Do you hav Information about LTE with O2 on Ipad Air and IPad mini Retina? O2 certainly has none.

This will probably come in handy for you.

Your questions are sort of all over the place and it makes it difficult to offer help when you splatter a whole bunch of stuff against the wall at once.
Mail accounts will sync to the iPad from iTunes if they are selected to sync. You can add the email account to the iPad in Settings>Mail, contacts, calendar>Add account. If you restore the iPad from a backup of another iPad, that should restore the email accounts to the new iPad.
Your backups will always be separate because iTunes reads the serial number on the iPad so if you had 10 iPads and gave them all the same name, iTunes would still see each one as it's own device.
You also threw the iPhone into the mix now. Why don't you start over and explain what you did to set up the new iPad Air. Or just start over and clarify all of the information a bit.

  • Enable LTE

I bough a new I phone 6 plus and can't find enable LTE only 4G , can somebody advice me why?

You have it reversed, T-Mobile USA and then AT&T display "4G" when actually on HSPA+ and the standards group caved and called this 4G. LTE (Long Term Evolution) is a means that most every carrier is using for the latest iteration of "4G" (although some diehards from the start claimed the first iteration of LTE didn't qualify as 4G). LTE has nothing to do with AT&T.
I know in Brazil they display LTE when connected to that network, same in Canada in Mexico. There are also many threads here about LTE, and displaying it, in Africa, the mideast, etc. I know when my cousin's wife was recently in Belgium her phone, and her brother's, both displayed LTE and many from India have posted here that they are "stuck" on LTE and can no longer downshift to 3G or 2G.
Is it possible that your carrier, or just the UK, is using the 4G display?

  • How easy it is travel abroad with the Verizon model of the new iPad?

On the specs listed on Apple's site for the new iPad, it lists GSM frequencies under Verizon model as well !!!
I am sure that one can't use AT&T SIM on the Verizon model, something must have been locked to prevent that.
But does anyone know how easy it is to pop in a foreign country 3G GSM micro-sim when travelling abroad into the new model Verizon iPad?
I have already ordered an AT&T model, but later realized that even the Verizon model shows GSM capabilities. If I could find conclusively about the foreign 3G GSM freedom on Verizon, I will definitely exchange my AT&T model for a Verizon one.

I don't think CDMA uses SIM card at all, hence no SIM slot in ipad 2 VZ model.
But LTE requires a SIM card, the VZ model of the ipad 3 is forced to have a SIM slot.
Here's an FAQ page from VZ site talking about LTE SIM:
    http://support.verizonwireless.com/information/4gsim.html
It's good (I am hoping truly that's the case) that Apple also allowed 3G GSM capability, this means one can pop out the VZ LTE micro-SIM and pop in any 3G micro-SIM.
I think there might be some lines of code from Apple to at least prevent an AT&T micro-SIM to work on a VZ ipad 3 just to prevent VZ from getting upset.
But other 3G micro-SIM's should work on VZ model. We can only find out on the 16th.
Here's one article that talks in details on this topic:

  • Are iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina both "SIM unlocked" in US? Can I use SIM cards sold in other countries?

I'm planning to buy iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina during my trip to US.
    Are they both "SIM unlocked"?
Can I use SIM cards sold in other countries?
Do I need any treatment or/and application when purchase?

If you are not concerned about LTE bands (which will be more diverse and hit-or-miss) the only ones that will matter are these...
    3G: UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    2G: GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
This covers almost all the 2G and 3G standards. You will most likely be ok on 3G and in edge cases, at an absolute minimum you will have EDGE speeds since both US and EU frequencies are covered - blech :-)

  • IPhone from USA vs. iPhone in Europe (A1586)

    Hi,
Is there ANY difference between an iPhone 6 (or any older iPhone...) ("european" model A1586) bought in USA and an iPhone 6 evailable (later) in Poland?
I have a friend that can buy one for me, but I'm still not 100% sure that it will be a safe solution. I heard about LTE or battery issues.
But... maybe that's just another legend?

    Thanks guys,
Let's forget the warrenty for a second.
    What about the technical part?
If I go to the Apple Store in New York and buy an iPhone 6 ( model A1586 for Europe, if available) - is this THE SAME iPhone one can buy a month later in Poland etc.??
I'm hearing the same answer all the time - MAY BE.
I want to know: YES or NO
Buy or not to buy, that is the question.

  • CONFIRMED: Cutting AT& Micro-SIM to Nano-SIM size works!

OK, I bought an iPhone 5 from Apple store in Emeryville, CA yesterday for full retail (I did this because my phone plan is from my employer and they are not allowing us iPhone 5's yet) . . . i didn't realize the old SIM would not fit in the new phone.
Plan A: go to AT&T store to see if they could change the SIM for me and activate the new phone under my existing number.
Plan B: cut/file the old micro-SIM to nano-SIM size and see if it works.  There were conflicting accounts on the web if this would work.
Plan C: tell my employer IT dept that I lost my iPhone4s and that I bought a new iPhone5 (with my own money) and ask them to activate it for me.
    Results:
Plan A: Alas, since my phone plan is with my employer this did not work . . . service was good though and they did try.
Plan B: This worked! I used a nail file to basically file down all of the edges of the micro SIM until they matched the dimensions of the nano-SIM.  I tried using sandpaper but I was finding that I couldn't file the edges straight . . . nail file seemed to work better.  You may need to file the overall thickness of the micro SIM just slightly.  Some reports on the web say you don't need to do this but in my case it didn't slide in smoothly (and I didn't want to force it) until I did this.
Plan C: I did not need to test this thankfully
I am on AT&T here in the US so YMMV but I can confirm this works for AT&T phones using Mirco-SIM
Hope this is helpful to some!

When doing this did you loose any mms features?  How about LTE?  Looking to possibly do the same thing.  Thanks in advance.

  • US iphone 6 in the uk

    Hello,
i would like to know if I buy an iphone 6 next weekend in the us (a contract free tmobile one) in store, will it work on uk providers as a uk one does? Will the same 4g functionality work? I'm lookimg specifically at vodafone uk.
    Thanks!

The US model iPhone6 is part number A1549 (GSM) or A1549 (CDMA). The A1549 (GSM) will work in the UK but will not support all the frequencies used in the UK. From the https://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ page it appears in this particular case the A1549 (GSM) supports 800MHz - LTE band 18 or 19 which is one of the frequencies used by Vodafone UK and also supports 2.6GHz LTE band 7 which is the other frequency used by Vodafone UK.
This implies it might be suitable to use with Vodafone UK on 4G. However while the networks and the above Apple table merely list the frequency as 800MHz or 2.6GHz in actuality the frequencies are not simple or exactly 800MHz and 2.6GHz. Vodafone bought a license to use 2 x 10MHz of bandwidth in the 800MHz range and 1 x 25MHz and an additional 1 x 20MHz in the 2.6GHz range. I suspect this means the actual real frequency might be something like 810MHz - 820MHz. It is therefore possible that a US band 18, 19 and 7 might not be exactly the same as the ones used by Vodafone UK.
I think however the biggest issue is going to be that while the above table specifically talks about LTE bands and seems to suggest you will be ok you also need to still take in to consideration the need to support 3G bands and maybe even 2G bands. This is because sadly 4G coverage is not 100% and in many areas you are forced to drop down to older slower networks. So if you did buy a US model which appears to support the 4G frequencies used by Vodafone you still also need to have coverage for 3G etc. as well. Also remember that right now non of the UK networks officially support VoLTE, Vodafone UK only made their very first VoLTE test call in August 2014 - less than a month ago! So while all the above relates to 4G data, voice calls still all use 3G.
For the purposes of a US citizen travelling to the US then go ahead, an iPhone 6 will be even better at roaming as it does support more frequencies than previous models. If your plan is to try and buy a handset more cheaply in the US and grey import it to the UK then don't bother. You still will have to declare it at customs and still will have to pay any duty plus the full 20% VAT. As US retailers typically charge US sales tax even to non-US customers you may end up paying sales tax twice over. It is far harder to almost impossible to claim back US sales tax. (It is easy to buy items in the UK to take back to the US and claim back or avoid UK VAT, many retailers on Tottenham Court Road do this simply by asking to see your foreign passport.)

  • FMS Origin and Edge license questions

    Hello!
We want to start audio/video-service transferring live stream
(cam-2-cam, video/audio/text chat) for an acquaintance site basis
on Flash Media Server technology. For uninterrupted work of this
service we have calculated that it is necessary to introduce the
server scheme consisting of 1 Origin and 2 Edge servers. The number
of simultaneous user connections is about 1000. The users have the
bandwidth at least 256/256 Kbit per second (download/upload).
    Our questions:
    1. Is our calculations true?
    2. What requirements are necessary to bandwidth to each
    server in this case?
    3. What is the price of license in this case?
    4. How and where it is possible to get Flash Media Server in
territory of Russia or it probably to carry out through head
    office?
    Thank you!

Assuming video is being broadcast at 256kbps, each 2 way
video chat will consume about 1mbps of bandwidth (2 publishers 2
subscribers). With 1000 users, you're talking about 500mbps of
    throughput.
When I last read about it, the Origin license was somewhere
around $50,000, but I didn't get that number straight from Adobe,
so don't take my word as absolute fact.
If I were planning this project, I might opt to go with 7
professional licenses (1050 connections) instead of an origin and
an edge. My reasoning is this... you can spread the load across
more servers without having to buy additional licenses, and since
the streams are unique and not viewed by a large audience, you
don't need the stream caching feaures of the origin/edge license.
About sales in Russia, I don't know about that. You might
    want to contact Adobe directly.

  • HTC DROID INCREDIBLE DESKTOP SYNC & CHARGER FOR 2150 mAh BATTERY

While I await my HTC DROID INCREDIBLE I did what I always do when buying any mobile device; I ordered the largest capacity battery so I never have to put up with the low batt message. Talk to people all the time & they are always having to charge their batteries cause they never get the extended battery. Anyway, two 2150 mAh batteries with backs, are in route to my house. Question is, where is a desktop/sync charger for this phone that  will also charge these larger batteries
I will be needing to sync w/my PC. Like the desktop docking station style. Easier to see too.
    Anybody looking into this one???
Oh yeah, Yes, I gave up the iphone. To much inconsistency about the truth of whether Verizon was getting it. Jobs may have said it's coming to providers but as usual, no date.
Yes, I know about LTE. My antique E815 is dying & so was my patients
Hope this Incredible is a good one. I did notice the touch screen was excellent. That impressed me
Found this Sync/charger online. Company says it will accommodate the 2150 mHa battery while docked plus charge the second 2150 mAh battery too. Not sure I believe them.  I asked them if it didn't work can I return it. They told me yes but there would be a restocking fee. I replied, "You are guaranteeing me it will work but if for some reason it does not you are gonna charge me a restocking fee???" They said, "Yes". Don't like the sound of that.
    http://www.thinkhtcincredible.com/htc-droid-incredible-desktop-charger-10078.html

i don't think that will work. the micro usb port on the phone is on the lower left side of it.....RIGHT where it appears the dock you posted has side grips for the phone. this looks more like a universal type of dock that would work.....if htc hadn't put the port on THE SIDE of the phone (don't get me started on this....i just dont get why they didn't put the port on the bottom???). i suspect that there is no real dock for the inc because the port is on the side and our homescreen doesn't go to landscape mode (don't get me started on that either). there are some decent universal stands that i've seen....but nothing that the phone will just plug into.

  • MTS Russia LTE issue

    Hi!
I have MTS Russia sim-card with LTE support.
If i use this sim-card in iphone 5S RU - LTE works great. I see LTE enable option in Settings -> Cellular
If i triy to install sim-card in iphone 6 RU - LTE option is not available! If i try to install in iphone 6 RU sim-card from another operator like Megafon - LTE option is enable and work.
Also, i tried to check for updates in iTunes (latest version). iTunes said to me that "you need to update career settings..." and i press "Update". iTunes after give me message that all is up to date and ok. If i after disconnect iphone 6 from PC or MAC and connect again in iTunes i see again message about "update carrier settings". I press "update" - all is ok. And each time then start itunes on PC or MAC i always see this "carrier settings update".
MTS Russia said me that "we have LTE support for all needed bands.  but i think that they lie: )
What i can do to update carrier settings correctly to see LTE option?
I already tried to restore to factory defaults, reset network settings.
May be somebody give me .ipcc for MTS Russia ios8 download link?

Click the A1 on the left until it turns light gray like V1.

  • Why lte doesn't work on iphone 5s in Russia

    Hello everyone!
I want to know, why i couldn't use the LTe network on Iphone 5s in Russia
The mobile operators give to the users the LTE networks today and other smartphones can use the LTE, excluding Iphone
However the frequencies given out by operators in Russia allow iPhones to work in lte
    Thanks a lot to everyone
It would be great if apple support could comment this one post
    Have a nice day,
    Igor

Hmmm...strange, no issues here with my 5S plugged into my rMBP(2014).  You say you have restarted your phone...restarted or reset?  If you haven't reset, try that:  Hold the home button + the lock button for about 6-8 seconds until the Apple logo appears.  You will not lose any data or current settings.

  • Satellite M70-340: Question about warranty if I buy in Russia and move to Australia

I'd like to buy notebook Satellite M70-340 here in Russia. Next month I'm going to move to Australia. What about the warranty in this case?
Will I have to pay if some trouble occurs?
How can I recognise a laptop which is officially sold (= i mean legally delivered and has a worldwide warranty)?
Thanx a lot for your answer!

    Hi
I dont know what you mean with officially sold and I hope you will buy notebook in PC store and not on the street. As far as I know every new notebook has one year international warranty but if you will stay longer you can buy warranty extension. It must be buying by authorized service partner in your country.
If you have troubles in Australia go to service partner and they will check if the unit is stolen or official soled. After that it can be repaired. As I said, contact Authorized Toshiba service partner in Russia and ask for warranty extension.
