About Lyrics

I have a lot of lyrics metadata in my iTunes library. I have tested iTunes Match for this and found that on my Mac if I delete a track and redownload it from iCloud (matched) it WILL in fact keep all the data I had previously had for that track: including lyrics.
This data also normally synced right over to iOS devices as well via WiFi/Cable sync. However, downloading tracks from iCloud on an iOS device for me rendered no such lyrics metadata. Anyone else have similar observations? Maybe they will work on this in the future. It seems lyrics are the only metadata that does not drop down from iCloud to an iOS device. Nonetheless with iTunes Match enabled, I can no longer sync music via my Mac: it's all supposed to come straight from iCloud now.

This is a major issue for me also. I just converted to iTunes Match, love that I can get anything from my large library on demand to any of my IOS devices (2 iPhones and 2 iPads for myself and spouse). However, any lyrics that I have manually added myself to songs on my mac will only show up on my mac and not IOS devices. I tried adding new lyrics after the match completed, remove and reload the song on iPhone, no luck. The only songs on iPhone with lyrics are those that were already on the iPhone before moving over to iCloud, so if I remove and reload them the lyrics go away.
All this is used to work fine without icloud, I could add lyrics to a song and they will show up on any IOS device. It makes no technical or legal sense for this to go away when converting to iCloud. I am sure hoping this is a bug or feature piece that just didn't make the deadline in the rush to get iTunes Match out.
If someone from Apple can confirm this will be addressed, that would be great.

A question about Lyrics of Audiobook

The Lyrics of a MP3 song works fine.
But the Lyrics of audiobook has never worked well since I got my Nano3 8G.
In the iTunes, I right-click on a *.m4b file (It is a audiobook format file),
Then click GetInfo-->Lyrics, fill some words, press OK to save it.
But when I play it, using the same method like for MP3, the Lyrics words cannt be displayed.
Anybody is encountered by this issue?
Or, Nano does not support the Lyrics for Audiobook? Only support Lyrics for MP3?

Ques About Lyrics

I want to put lyrics into my Mini. I know one way is to put lyrics through the "Notes" section. Under my ITunes, when I right click to "get info" on a song, it has an option of lyrics. When I put lyrics on any songs, I still don't see the lyrics I put through this method. I know the Ipod Nano can do it through this, but can the Mini also?

No, unfortunately not. This function is limited to the nano and iPod 5th generation only.

What about Lyrics?? and external controls??????

ITunes is good, but I have some suggestions they should take care of:
1. You can't control Itunes when it is minimized with your laptop fnkeys, only when its maximized. It's very bad because most of the time you are listening to something while you work or check your e-mail and you need to stop music or change the song, but to do this you need to maximize ITunes and it's not very practical. (This does not happen with Musicmatch and Windows media player, you can control them while they are minimized)
2. You can't read the lyrics of your favorite songs while you listen to them in an easy way. You have to open a new window that is not very practical. Also, there should be the option that instead of the song illustration you could have your lyrics there, and that they automatically come when a new song starts (again, this option is available in Musicmatch, yo can have your lyrics available with every song you play automatically)

Hello all,
This is my first iPod, it is a black 30 gig video.
I have gotten it pretty much figured out, but how do I assosciate a picture with a song?
Like album art?

I dont know anything about lyrics yet, but the album art picture was showing as the song played.
I thought I was all smart and made a play list for two of my cds and realized heck i dont need a play list i can use the album function.

I'm not sure where you see that the links I gave suggested that. The iPhoto link (quoted below) in step 4 suggests dragging the library to the new location. You can do that in Finder by dragging the library to the external disk in the Finder sidebar. If you don't have a sidebar in Finder, go to the Finder View menu and click Show Sidebar. If the external disk isn't visible in the sidebar, go to the Finder Preferences, click Sidebar at the top of the Preferences window, and put a checkmark in front of External disks in the Devices section.
You can move your entire iPhoto library to a different computer, a hard disk, or another location on your computer.
Important: Before you move your iPhoto library, it’s a good idea to back it up to a DVD or external hard disk.

Anyone know anything about paying royalties to karaoke track companies if you sing with their track and want to put it on itunes and it is a cover song also...not my lyrics???

Hi There! I would like to put a song I sang on itunes. It is using a karaoke track from "Karaoke #1 hitmakers". And it is Justin Timberlake's version of "hallelujah. I can't find contact info for this karaoke company for starters...ANYWHERE in Google....and I wonder if someone can direct me on if I can even do this and how the royalties work so that it is totally legal and the "right thing to do" on all counts. I also want to give the "producer" of the song and myself royalties if there are any of course...as time goes on...is that something I need to register on BMI....you can tell I need some EDUCATIONAL TIPS and facts! I am only going to make one comment and I will leave the rest to someone with more experience on the model creation end of things. I am interested in that as much as you are since I have tried and and just couldn't figure it out and finally gave up on it.
My comment is about the model making business as you describe it. There are companies out there that already provide this service. I do not know what prices they charge for their services, but a Google search will pop up quite of few of them. A person would have to check on pricing and all the rest of the details concerning this, but they are out there.
I want to add that Multisim used to have a partnership with Edaparts.com to supply model information and footprints for free. When Edaparts became a portion of Partsminer.com this freebie ended and they now charge a subscription fee for this service. That really fudged things up in my opinion. Anyway, I thought I would let you know this if you didn't already and maybe you might be interested in checking it out.

Question about adding/removing lyrics

When I add one of my songs, it already has lyrics "attached". The problem is they are wrong and if i try to change/delete them and sync with my iphone, it doesn't sync. Is there anyway i can remove them from the file?

Yes, I am using a 64-bit operating system. I am running on windows 7. And as for reported incompatibilities....technically taking a RAM from another laptop and placing it in the laptop should be the same as purchasing a RAM card from ebay or something and putting into the laptop right?

How do I get song lyrics entered in the GetInfo song link to sync properly with my other devices?

I'm running iTunes on a Windows 7 machine, and sometimes the lyrics sync up properly and sometimes not; sometimes only on one device, and not the others. Syncing via wifi or manually, or from the computer based iTunes or from the actual device produces the same inconsistent results. Suggestions?

- You need at least iOS 2 for apps. Go to Settings>General>About>version to find the iOS version. If you have a 1G iPod you can get the last update for that model here:

I have an iPod touch, with iOS 5.0.1 I have manually added lyrics and album covers on iTunes, but they aren't syncing over. Why? How do I fix it?

I have an iPod touch that I bought recently, and have updated everything to the iOS 5.0.1 version. I have checked my music settings, and it has Lyrics and Podcast Info "ON". I have manually added the lyrics to several songs, as well as album covers, and neither one are transferring over to the iPod touch when syncing. How do I go about fixing this? I have double checked all the settings I can think of to get this transferred over. I have even double-checked the online manual to make sure where I would even find the lyrics, and how to get to them...yet....nothing.

How can I see song lyrics in iOS 8?

In the past I've been able to add lyrics to my music in iTunes and then see those lyrics in the music app after syncing my iPhone or iPod... There is an option in my setting to view lyrics which I have turned on and yet I can't see the lyrics I've added in the music app, how do I make it so I can see those lyrics?

Please ignore my above post regarding Open IME.....!!! I had a WAV version of a song and a MP3 version of the song. It allowed me to add lyric ONLY when it was the MP3 version. When i was changing the IME it must have coincided with me changing format of song....hence why I thought it was IME!
Advice to other users.....CHECK WHICH FILE YOU ARE DRAGGING INTO ITUNES....AND DON'T DO IT WHEN TIRED!! I have multiple versions of the songs and I didn't bother checking which was which. I now realise I could have saved myself a good few hours instead of messing about..lol!
The other thing I did learn is that once you add lyric and click 'ok'...then you cannot alter it. I had to delete song from playlist...re-add...then add lyrics again. Not too sure why.... maybe a glitch...or maybe I'm just too tired.
Anyway...I think the problem lies with the format of song you import into i-tunes as mentioned in a post above.

I recently updated to ios 5.1 but nothing has been done to rectify the audio app problems ie lyrics no longer shown,
I am extremely disappointed and angrywith those responsible for the iOS 5 update, in regard to the way it hasaffected the music app in my iPad.
I also own an iPhone 4, am an avid Apple fan, and up until now have beenextremely pleased with the devices, and have sung their praises to friends andassociates.
I am a professional musician, and purchased an iPad primarily to use with theperformance of my music.
The changes made to the music app affected my performances over the weekendextremely adversely – limiting my repertoire and causing confusion and delays.
I have spent many hours talking withApple helpline assistants (who, incidentally have been very good and have triedto help), and I have also spent a lot of time on this letter.
I greatly regret updating to iOS 5.
There are two major problems with the music app.
1. Lyrics no longer displayed
2. Layout, and appearance and consequently performance have seriouslyregressed.
I have a repertoire of around 500 song backing tracks, organised into about 20playlists, half of which featured lyrics / chords that I have spent monthsrecently entering into iTunes so that they could be used on my iPad.
These were working fine up until the update - now they are gone.
Previously, the app featured large icons for playlist, artists, songs etc. atbottom of page: Now there are small, grey, indistinct barely legible buttons.
Previously, when playlist icon was selected - all the playlists were listedclearly in order on the left hand side in black on white (as in iTunes).
Now they are scattered across the whole page in large squares (displayingnothing if there is no album art).
The identifying wording below eachsquare is now small, grey, indistinct & barely legible.

Previously, when a song was selected - it appeared filling the page, and withaudio controls clearly positioned at top of screen. One tap would bring uplyrics.

A small square representsalbum art which if tapped fills page. A further tap fails to bring up lyrics.

Lyrics not displaying correctly

I'm trying to add lyrics to the Song "恋に焦がれた八百万" (maybe because of unicode characters?) which I've got as .aiff-File (about 50 MB big).
However, when I copy/paste the entire lyrics, the iPhone displays it as blank. More strangely, when I only write "Test" as lyrics, it displays them normally.
I'd have to play around a little do determine the maximum length of lyrics. When I tried typing in just the first two lines, it didn't work either so I don't think it's a limit Apple intended, since other lyrics work just fine.
Here are two screenshots of different songs, both in .aiff-Format. One showing lyrics, the other not.

I fixed it myself using a hex-editor and manually remove the entire ID3 section, then add everything back by hand. This seems to me like an iPod.app-bug since more than one external tool (one written by myself) told me all ID3-tags were set correctly.
