About Match(X) or Copy in BC

Hi all,
As i know Match(X) or Copy option while activation of BC
first checks the installed version with the Delivered version & writes only the changes that occured since last active version for an object ....am i right here?
If i set Install option unchecked & Match(X) or Copy option Checked ...then will it still overwrite the changes ? or not ?
If i am wrong , then pls let me know how Match(X) or Copy option works here
Pls confirm .
Thanks
Gururaj

Hi,
Match or copy doesn't apply if you unchecked the install box.
As you said, match compares and adds missing attributes/options on the Objects you're activating, while copy overwrites if it finds the same object on the system.

  • What is the use of Match(X) or Copy in Business Content Collected Obj..?

    Hi All,
In Business Content, After doing Drog nd Drop on Collected Objects, There, after Install Icon(I) we will find <u><i><b>Match(X) or Copy (M)</b></i></u> ......
Can anybody tell me what is mean by it and why and where do we use it.....?
    Please Reply me.......
    Regards,
    Kiran Telkar

    Hi Kiran,
    Match (X) or Copy
If the SAP delivery version and the active version can be matched, a checkbox is displayed in this column.
With the most important object types, the active version and the SAP delivery version can be matched.
From a technical point of view, the SAP delivery version (D version) is matched with the M version. As in most cases the M version is identical to the active version (A version) in a customer system, this is referred to as a match between the D and A versions for reasons of simplification.
When a match is performed, particular properties of the object are compared in the A version and the D version. First it has to be decided whether these properties can be matched automatically or whether this has to be done manually. A match can be performed automatically for properties if you can be sure that the object is to be used in the same way as before it was transferred from Business Content. When performing matches manually you have to decide whether the characteristics of a property from the active version are to be retained, or whether the characteristics are to be transferred from the delivery version.
    Example of an automatic match
Additional customer-specific attributes have been added to an InfoObject in the A version. In the D version, two additional attributes have been delivered by SAP that do not contain the customer-specific attributes. In order to be able to use the additional attributes, the delivery version has to be installed from Business Content again. At the same time, the customer-specific attributes are to be retained. In this case, you have to set the indicator (X) in the checkbox. After installing the Business Content, the additional attributes are available and the customer-specific enhancements have been retained automatically. However, if you have not checked the match field, the customer-specific enhancements in the A version are lost.
    Example of a manual match
An InfoObject has a different text in the A version than in the D version. In this case the two versions have to be matched manually. When Business Content is installed, a details screen appears which asks you to specify whether the text should be transferred from the active version or from the D version.
The Match indicator is set as default in order to prevent the customer version being unintentionally overwritten. If the Content of the SAP delivery version is to be matched to the active version, you have to set the Install indicator separately.
The active version is overwritten with the delivery version if
¡ the match indicator is not set and
¡ the install indicator is set.
In other words, the delivery version is copied to the active version.
If the Install indicator is not set, the object is not copied or matched. In this case, the Match indicator has no effect.
In the context menu, two options are available:
    a. Merge All Below
The object in the selected hierarchy level and all objects in the lower levels of the hierarchy are selected as to Match.
    b. Copy All Below
The Match indicators are removed for the object in the selected hierarchy level and all objects in the lower levels of the hierarchy. If the Install indicator is also set, these objects are copied from the delivery version to the active version.
    hope this helps.

  • Match (X) or Copy

    Hi,
Why Match (X) or Copy is necessary in Installing BI Content?
"From a technical point of view, the SAP delivery version (D version) is matched with the M version." Explain this Line.
What for BI Content objects are matched?
    Regards,

    Hi,
For example you installed the 0material info object and added some Z attrbites to it. Again you are installing the Infocube
0IC_C03 it contains the 0material. At the time of Infocube installation if you don't select the match X copy it will simply
overwrite the 0material. You will lose the Z attrbutes.
If you select the match X copy it will merge the properties. You don't  lose the Z attrbites.
      Eg: Actual length 20
0material installed and changed length to 40.
Again your are installing the 0IC_C03 if don't select the match X copy it will overwrite the 0material and make length to 20.
If you select the match X copy it will merge the properties.
    Hope it helps you.

  • Install, Match (X) or Copy, Merge all below and Copy all below

    Hi,
Can any one please tell me when can we use only "Install", combination of both "Install and Match (X) or Copy" and only "Match (X) or Copy" Indicatiors.
And what is Match (x) or Copy, are they different from each other or they are one and same? if there is difference what is the diff between Match (x) and Copy.
And what is the use of "Merge All Below" and "Copy All Below" in the context menu of the objects that are collected.
    Regards,
    Kumar.

    Hi,
    Install
-> Objects that are being transferred for the first time. There is not an active version of these objects in the system.
->Business Content objects that have been redelivered in a new version. These objects are identified by the Content time stamp in the corresponding object tables.
    Match (X) or Copy
If the SAP delivery version and the active version can be matched, a checkbox is displayed in this column. With the most important object types, the active version and the SAP delivery version can be matched.
The Match indicator is set as default in order to prevent the customer version being unintentionally overwritten. If the Content of the SAP delivery version is to be matched to the active version, you have to set the Install indicator separately.
The active version is overwritten with the delivery version if
-> the match indicator is not set and
-> the install indicator is set.
The most important properties which are taken into account when versions are matched are now listed.

  • HT4759 I'd bought cloud and I am looking to see how it works and still don't know. So can somebody tell me how it works, and why does money keep disappearing from my account. I didn't used iTunes match, and and copied everything I had in iTunes and am now

    1) How do I use Cloud?  I mistakingly use itune match and made copy of all I already had in tunes! 2) how do I get rid of all the copys?  3)how do I get the money that keeps disappars from my account?

I got into a similar situation last night trying to enable wireless on my already configured wired my Time Capsule. It was getting the same or very similar 169.xxx IP address for itself.
I found that I had to change ( I suspect it was restore my previous setting ) the Configure IPv4 item under the Internet Tab in manual setup of the Airport Utility.
It appeared a "manually" and I changed it (back?) to "Using DHCP".
That combined with Connection Sharing: Off (Bridge Mode) lets the upstream router that connects directly to my Cable modem be the DHCP server for the entire network.
As everything had worked fine for weeks until I enabled wireless it seems that the Configure Ipv4 parameter was reset either by me mistakenly or by the updating o f the changed settings. Frankly I' quite sure I didn't change it accidentally (famous last words)
Other combinations may aslo work, but this works for me.

  • Question about matching 2 computers

I have 2 PC's.  PC "A" is at home where my matched library resides.  PC "B" is my laptop which I have with me when traveling (28 days a month - truck driver).  PC B has an almost duplicate library of my home matched library. I say ALMOST duplicate because each library does have music that the other library doesnt have.  I do purchase CD's which I rip into PC "B" that I havent had the chance to import into PC "A" and I most likely wont hv the chance to sync them for a long time.
I have been having an issue with PC "B" trying to become the "matched" library whenever I log that ITunes client on. I don't want to have this library matched.  I only want to see the matched library thats at home on my home PC "A".   (I am on mobile internet so I dont have the bandwidth to have PC "B" become the primary matched library)
I dont want to upload any of the files from PC "B" but I want to be able to download from the cloud to this computer.
Is there a way to be able to see and download to PC "B" from the cloud without having to match/upload and replace the matched PC "A" online library.
Is there any way to stop PC "B" from trying to become the matched library without having to disable itunes match on PC "B"?
Or is there any way to have both libraries matched and combined to show all files from both libraries in the cloud? ( i dont think there is but I thought id ask anyway)
    Thanks in advance
    TL

Well, they aren't completely opposite. Just a little contradictory.
Your original desire is that you want to be able to only download music from the cloud to PC "B" without first matching the library. This is not possible. The library must be matched first before you can have access to the music in the cloud.
    TruckerLlew wrote:
What happens to the music in the cloud that was uploaded by PC "A" when I begin matching PC "B"?  Does that uploaded music get deleted immediately or does it stay in the cloud and get added to the music that will be uploaded from PC "B"?
Nothing happens to the tracks in the cloud when you add another computer. Any additional tracks from PC "B" are simply added to the library in the cloud and the two libraries are combined.
    TruckerLlew wrote:
I'm not real worried about the matched stuff cuz most of the B library is a bit for bit copy of A.  Im just more concerned about the files that arent synced between both computers.  Dont want to lose the uploaded stuff from A when I begin matching B.
    You won't.

  • Use of Match(X)or Copy and Install checkboxes in Business content

    Hi,
What is the use of checkbox selection under Match(X) and install in L.H.S of Business content while we try to install an object?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Have you seen same question posted on today:
Installing Business Content - How to Deselect Match (X)/Copy Column ???
    the help says that:
<i>The active version is overwritten with the delivery version if
    1) the match indicator is not set and
    2) the install indicator is set.
In other words, the delivery version is copied to the active version.
If the Install indicator is not set, the object is not copied or matched. In this case, the Match indicator has no effect.</i>

  • About sap bw system Copy or backup ?(URGENT)

    Hi gurus:
Hi friends,I saw many theads about this subject, and I found many documents,But STILL I can't find the way to solve my problem.
It is: How to export the objects I created in develop system to a harddisk, then import it to the QA system . Dev to QA with harddisk NOT online?
And can I backup the whole bw system in the harddisk, and restore the bw system in the qa system istead ? how to backup the bw system ?
All useful reply will assign points
    thx
    chan

    Hi Zegion,
I think the following may help you:
Purpose: Preserves logical system dependent objects for restoration in case of a system copy issue when a logical source system is deleted or deactivated. BW will auto re-generate a lot, but not these objects.
    1.     Create on a development system like BWD, because the system is set as a development system in SCC4 and can create and export transports, and will include all objects. A dummy can be used for comparison if the system to be copied is production or test.
    a.     If creating on another system, like BW test (BWT) or production, you must first open the system in
       i.     SE06 – System Change option – modifiable /BIC and /BI0
ii.     SCC4 – client settings – set like in BW Development system (BWD)
iii.     STMS – in client 000 from BWD (domain controller)
                1.     Remove BWT from transport path
                2.     Setup new 2-system path BWT-BW? (BWS or virtual system). This creates a ZOUO transport layer, allowing creation of non-local/not $TMP package transports (see complex sample below)
    2.     Go to RSA1-Admin workbench, Transport Connection
        a.     Select Object Types
        b.     Set for Grouping-“Save for system copy”
        c.     Set for “Start manual” collection
        d.     Set for Display “List”
    3.     Drag and drop source system (select from “select objects” list and “transfer selection”) to collection window, example – SCEM, SC0CLNT575, DEVCLNT100, SAP_DEMO. I recommend only doing one source system at a time for maximum flexibility…and because the R3 sources are very large.
        a.     Then execute collection – “Gather dependent objects”
        b.     Select each category (mainly Transfer Rules, Transfer structure and InfoPackages…whatever is selected. On each header, right click and select “transfer all below”
        c.     Validate that there are no objects in the $TMP development package (DevClass). If it is, select the object and change package button to set to ZAWB. (Anything but $TMP (local))
        d.     NOTE- To reset transport connection, select anything on the left frame of the screen to refresh
    4.     You are now ready to transport…select the truck icon to create
        a.     Call it Save for System Copy and the source system name
        b.     Go to SE09/SE10 and release it and tasks to the OS level
    5.     Cleanup – reset STMS and distribute, reset SCC4 and SE06 on “BW0”/Source BW system
    6.     Verify RSA1- Tools – mapping of source system names on target BW system (i.e. BWU) for “source system” of transport (i.e. SC0CLNT575).
    7.     Verify RSA1- Modeling-Source system connection checks OK on target system
    8.     Manually import transport in STMS – Import Queue, extras, other requests, Add (to buffer). Import single with right click or partially loaded truck icon, select options as below:
    9.     LAST STEP – Validate import logs and activated objects. If there is an error, ensure the link to the new system is active, the RSA1-Tools-Mapping of source system names converts properly from say DEVCLNT100 to TSTCLNT200 (correct frame of reference) and reimport.
if it helpful reward point are appreciated

  • Asking about N79 Browser and copy/paste function

I think the browser that is in the N79 is pretty darn good! I wonder what is it based on? Is it Safari or Opera? Or is it Nokia's own?
The only thing lacking is that I cant copy and paste stuff. Lets say I copy a link from a SMS sent to me, how do I paste it at the address bar or at a forum like this?
    Nokia N79 8GB
    SW Version: 11.049 RM-348

i think it is safariesque one. you might be able to copy and paste by using your hash button or #, hold it down and while holding use navi pad to hilight the area you want to copy and paste. i am not sure if this works on n79 but it does work on other n series models. try this. if it does not work i am sure that someone will come up with the right solution for you.

  • HELP???Question about the technique RM COPY. Please Help

    PLEASE HELP
Im wondering if anyone can help me. I recently got a reply to a post that I wrote about deleting duplicated files. Mainly MP3s. I have not done this method yet though. Does it work? I have around 9000 mp3s that Itunes seems to always duplicate and I need to get rid of them. Can I open one of my ex-Harddrives that pretty much hold mp3s and run this command? Im looking for a completely faster method than individually deleting them in Itunes. One last question too. Where do I type this command? How do I access the directorys where my mp3s are in my ex-HD? If anyone can help me Id greatly appreciate it. The reply is below my name

If none of the original filenames contains the lettering " copy", you can do what you want quite easily.
Open Terminal, navigate to the folder that contains the files, and enter the following command (exactly as it appears here):
    rm *" copy"*
That's all there is to it. All 9000 duplicate files will be removed very quickly.
If you need help "navigating to the folder" or if some of your original filenames contain the lettering “ copy”, then post back here.
    Greg

    Launch Terminal.app
Type cd followed by a space. Do not hit return key just yet.
In Finder, navigate to folder containing the files you want to blow away.
Drag and drop that folder (in the finder) into the Terminal.app window. It'll autofill the path to the directory containing the files you're wanting to blow away. Now hit the return key.
You could type ls (that's a lower-case ell) and see the directory listing of all the files in your current directory. Probably a good idea to do just to doublecheck that you really are in the directory that you want to blow away all these files from.
    Now do what Greg said.
Don't get impatient because Terminal is just sitting there and you're not getting an immediate command prompt. It'll take a while to blow away 9000 files.
For entertainment, instead of rm *" copy"* use rm -v *" copy"* so you can watch all 9000 file names be printed in your terminal window as they are being deleted.
Will it work? Oh yes .... irreversibly (if it doesn't, that's coz' there are some file ownership and/or file permission issues that need to be looked at, but assuming those are "compatible" with your current Terminal user environment, those guys'll be toast. Any file that's in the working directory where you are in Terminal that has the five characters " copy" in its filename will be history.
The assumption in Greg's command is that all the files you want to blow away all reside in the one directory that you have navigated to.

  • Are Adobe about to abandon hard copy updates for photoshop?

The rumours are spreading like wildfire. Are adobe about to abandon the updating of Photoshop software by 'hard copy single payment' to a monthly subscription based update?

Well I guess I’m coming at this from using Photoshop for 17 years… and thinking long term.
IF I switch over to the Cloud and IF Adobe does not raise the subscription fee…  In ten years I will have paid Adobe $2300 for privilege of using Photoshop. Then I retire, then my income drops 60%... then I have ten years worth of work that I can no longer afford to open as an editable PSD file…
From a company that developed and promoted DNG… it seems oddly unfriendly to the archival access of personal projects to allow full access via subscription only. Most users feel Photoshop is a tool, not a service. The current Creative Cloud model says Adobe feels differently.
And I am not anti-cloud by any means. I just feel the proposed license model is not very considerate of many consumers… especially the mid-tier or hobiest user.
But… Photoshop Beginners Forum is not the place for this chat.

  • Repaired MacBook Pro - Question about User Account being copied

On Wednesday, my MBP was ready to be picked up at the Apple Store. They told me it was basically everything inside that caused my display to not function and it would have cost me over 1700 dollars without AppleCare, so that made me happy. They also said they heard weird noises coming from my hard drive so they gave me a new one as well. Some applications needed to be installed but I was told that all of my documents are on this machine. They copied over my User folder. I didn't really care that I lost my Windows partition but it would have been nice to know before they just deleted it..
Anyway, I got home and turned on my machine. It said I only had about 20 gigs left of storage. Wait a minute... This had to be wrong because thats the space I had on my previous computer WITH the Windows partition. After a little researching, I saw that in my Users folder there was another folder called "DELETED USERS." When I opened it, I saw my documents and music files. I thought it was where they put my old data from my other drive but it wasn't. There was another folder in "Users" with my name and data. It seems like they copied it twice or something. I was just wondering if it's okay to delete this data.

yes, it's quite ok to delete that folder. First make sure that everything was indeed copied to your main user folder and if it is, delete "Deleted Users".

  • IWork(Keynote, pages and numbers) doesn't work well about the issue of copy & paste problem

I think so, too. the Keynote 6.5 is not working well on Yosemite (Mac OS X 10.10.1).
In my case, I can't copy & paste from some program(particularly analysis program in my case) to Keynote.
So, when I check coping & pasting the graph or image and so on to Powerpoint and other programs (one of Office is such word and 3rd programs), It works well. However It doesn't work at Keynote, page and numbers.
Also, I tried to do the following process to solve this issue
    ======
Something is wrong with your installation of Keynote
Try this repair for Keynote, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1  delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote by using AppDelete.
2  restart the Mac;   Apple menu > restart
3  immediately after the start chime,  press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
let it fully boot up,  it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4  when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive  then First Aid tab and      click  repair disc permissions
5  when complete, restart the Mac normally
6  install Keynote from the Mac App Store
    ====
It doesn't work! Anything doesn't change.
In conclusion, I didn't solve this yet!
Plz, solve this problem or fix it!.

This is a double posting, please only post in one discussion at a time.
Keynote 6.5 is stable and reliable under Yosemite for most users.
As with all new operating systems and applications, a small number of users find a few problems.
Copy and pasting text from and into Keynote from all the applications I have, work perfectly: the applications include; Safari, Mail, Word, PowerPoint, excel, Pages, Numbers, iMovie, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
If you want to place graphics into Keynote, use one of the following methods:
    Insert > Coose
click the media button on an image placehoder
click the media button on the tool bar
drag and drop from a Finder window
Copy and pasting images into Keynote is not supported
