About mismatch in print layout in direct print and print preview and pdf!

Hi ,
I have created one smartforms,when I run the standard trasaction VF03 and select any output type and then when I click on print preview button,and then when I put PDF! in address bar ,the print preview will convert in PDF format,it will show output without bold and comes only in normal fonts.
Also, when I run transaction VF03 and direct click Print button, then it shows print as per requirement , but it overwrites some part on the end of page where company address is priprinted on stationary,so how can i show print format same in both condition without overwriting?

HI friend,
The one which is coming in the print (hard copy) is the correct one.
Print preview may be different.
So if the print is coming in overlapping format means check whether the windows are aligned properly. Because if you have given any data in main window and when it grows it over laps on another window.
If that's is correct check the printer settings for it. Only these would cause the print to be distorted.
Check this and revert back if you have any issues we will help you.

But even after that i am getting the print parameter popup.

My client encounter a problem of printing a report directly to the printer. He is using developer 6i with OAS. His application is going to deploy on the web. He wants the report printed out directly on the "HP Laser Jet Printer" after the user has made the selection and clicked the "Print" button from the forms 6i. However, he got the error saying that
"Oracle Report Server OWS Cartridge - Report Job has terminated with error
Report Server Replies:
Rep-0713: invalid printer name 'HP4050' specified by parameters DESNAME."
And here is the parameter string passing into the report server:
http://epmsdevs2.eway:9002/rwows/rwows60?report=epms1271.rdf+userid=epmsdev/epmsdev@dev+desformat=landscape+destype=printer+desname=HP4050+server=RepServer
Is there anyone can show me some light on it?!

If reports are run in web env. then
you can print reports directly on
printer defined on m/c where report server
is running, not on client m/c. If you want
to print on client m/c then define that
printer on report sever m/c and make sure
report server can access that printer.

Print layout in case of pre printed continous stationery

Dear Experts,
I have one query related to print layout designing.The issue is the PLD is set for an Invoice in the pre printed stationery & the printer out is take using continuous stationery the problem which i have faced is 1 page is printed properly but for 2nd page the print again starts from top so again the user have to do manual setting & print the 2nd page.

It is too difficult to handle the print on pre printed continuous stationery by PLD. PLD is a very basic tool. You may only get it work by endless try and error to see.

Printing a report directly to an printer via the printer's IP Address.

I am looking for how to print a report (either text or pdf) from a PL/SQL procedure, directly to a known IP Address of a printer.
We have a report that is generated through forms as a pdf. The user can then obviously read it and print it to a printer from their machine.
We are trying to implement a Stored procedure that will print that report directly to a know printer's IP Address.
How can this be done?

Check out the orarrp utility (Oracle Reports Remote Printing Utility) on Metalink, note 277431.1.
It may be easier in the end to set up printers on the OAS. I guess that client PC's are using network printers, or are the really using printers connected directly to the PC?

I am migrating reports from 6i to 10g, all these reports are called from menu and some from forms. There are some reports which are directly sent to the printer for printing. My question is when we run those reports that are sent directly to the printer from OAS, Can we make it refer to the printer set up on the client machine?. Can any one let me know regarding this?.

Print Report data directly to a printer

we are working on forms11g reports11g and oracle11g DB. working in AIX system. My client system is windows7.
when printing reports, once clicks the print button iam generating the PDF report (actually generate in server) using webuitl bring it to client and printing the report connected to the user system.
But if a printer is installed in the server(may be many printers are installed), how can print the report to my desired printer. how can be achieved this .
please suggest your valuable solution with example.

Printing ZPL code directly to a printer

In my abap program a have a string that contains ZPL code. I'd like to send that ZPL code directly to the user's local printer. Is there a way to do this in ABAP? I looked at FM PRINT_TEXT but I'm not sure if that is the best way to do it.
If I were to do this outside of SAP. I would call up the windows command prompt and type:
copy C:\Label.txt LPT1
I just don't know how to do this from ABAP.

Printing APEX reports directly to the printer

Hi All,
Last few days I have been following forum quite often to get the post which could match my requirements, but in vain. I would appreciate if I can get assistance with this.
I want APEX application to print a specific report (when 'print' clicked) to printer directly instead of showing the PDF itself.
As a matter of fact this system will be hosted on a TOUCH SCREEN system for users, and the requirement says it should be as user friendly (as much as it can). I want few reports which as specific to that employee to be printed directly without showing the details to the user.
I already have Print server configured (BI publisher)

Thanks for your comment. May be i phrased my statement wrong. As you said, definitely this is not the solution but a work around to my problem using 3rd party. This is the reason why i did not mention this solution on forum and said that its a "*work around*". This was a requirement and I had to get it any how quickly (time constraint) using free application. Meanwhile, i am also looking around if something like this could be done in Web Pages. Please let us know when you come up with solutions.

Cannot get correct print layout for multiple page/booklet printing

In trying to print a pdf file that is landscape, 2 pages per sheet, booklet format, I cannot get the print preview to show the correct layout. I have tried all the options in the print menu, but either I get the pages in the incorrect order or I get what should be on the right side on the left side and vice versa. Of course, there is NO help in the Adobe knowledge base. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Is there a fix? Additionally, Adobe wants me to pay $39 for assistance that they will not guarantee they can fix. How crazy is that!

I highly recommend Quite Imposing. It can create nearly any booklet you want as a pdf file. Then you will have no problem being sure it is what you want before you print to paper.

Printing User-Defined Queries
Use
After you have linked a user-defined query to a user report template, you can print it according to its linked print layout.
Procedure
To print a user-defined query, use one of the following two procedures:
Using the Query Print Layout window:
1. Choose Tools u2192 Queries u2192 Query Print Layout.
2. Choose the Reports tab page and select the query you would like to print.
3. Choose File u2192 Print.
The user-defined query is printed according to its linked print layout.
Using the Queries Manager window:
1. From the toolbar, choose with the quick info text Queries Manager.
2. Select the query you would like to print.
3. Choose File u2192 Print.
The user-defined query is printed according to its linked print layout.
You can also display a print preview for user-defined queries. To do so, choose File u2192 Print Preview.
Printing User-Defined Queries with Variables
Use
When a user-defined query contains variables, its linked print layout will also display the variables data and print them.
In the print layout linked to that query, you can see that an additional area containing the condition's parameters was added

How to use Group in Query Print Layout

I have prepared a query for fetching all purchase details along with tax code, now I have ordered it on tax code and prepared a query Print Layout,
Now within this Query Print Lay Out I want to group the tax code and want to add total of some columns at end of every tax code.
Request to guide how to achieve this.

We need to use Sort and Group in combination.
Select the repeatative area and in PLD menu select Sort, then select the column to be sort.
then in Header / Footer of that respective repeatative area select the fields and put in the group no. in the General.

User defined Query in Print Layout

Is it possible to print output of a user defined query in a Print Layout. For example: in Quotation

But its not related to Query Print Layout. I wanted to print a query result in a Sales Quotation so that when you print the Sales Quotation, you get the result of the Query on the Sales Quotation
