Hello-
You would still see the HP name (HP DJ 460) when adding it to another device. The new name would only show up on the PC or device "software" that you are printing from (Thesis101).
I hope this helps.
Also, remember a click on the Kudos star to the left is a quick "Thanks" for a helpful post.

  • EMAIL FOR MOBILE PRINTING AND REGISTERING WITH HP

Just bought a Deskjet 2540 printer, have managed set up but have two questions
Where do I get the required email for printing from a smartphone (tried my register email but that doesn't work)
Trying to register my printer with HP by clicking on product in list but nothing happens.  Just starts to buffer!!
    Thanks guys

    Hi gillymc,
I'm sorry to hear you are having problems setting up the ePrint feature of your Deskjet 2540 printer.
Your printer isn't an ePrint supported printer and wouldn't have a HP ePrint email address.  If your Smartphone is an Apple mobile device AirPrint will work with your printer.  I have included the printer specifications for your reference.  I have also included a document about HP's supported mobile printing solutions.

  • HP officejet 100 Mobile Printer Stops in Mid Print

This printer worked fine (NO problems with Bluetooth even) for the first couple of months and several changes in print cartridges. For the last year, every time I print a document, it will either stop printing on the second or third document or stop in the middle of the first document, and all the indicator lights come on telling me I need to clean cartridges, etc. Every time is different. Some times it is one indicator error light, the next print job may trigger all the lights. Every print job I execute and it fails, I have to remove the battery, re-insert the battery and print again. It works every time after I reprint the job after removing the battery. The next document triggers errors again and it will not print. I do not have a warranty, but I am ready to throw it in the garbage! What can I do? I am running on a Mac Osx system. Please help. Thank you!

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @IdahoElk
I read your post about the printer issues you're having with your Officejet 100 Mobile printer. I have a couple of suggestions that may help you.
First of all, power reset the printer and ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 30 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Also, check out this troubleshooting document. Check the issues to see if you can find the description to what you are seeing on your printer.
Blinking Lights on the HP 100 Officejet Mobile Printers
If the troubleshooting does not help at all, I would lastly suggest technical support.

  • Print remotely from a IPad to a portable / mobile printer.

    Hi
You may be able to advise on something for printing from an IPad. Have searched discussion boards and all the comments are about 12 months old so there may be a fresh solution.
Situation is that my son teaches music at many varied locations, and he wants to print remotely from a IPad to a portable / mobile printer where potentially there is no WiFi.
If a wifi network is needed then he can set up 1 from his IPhone 4.
Unfortunately Apple store staff look at disbelief that you want to print from an IPad whilst you are away from your home wifi network. Is that not the beauty of IPad?
Anyhow is there any after market products that can assist in this situation. Or advise on a compact printer that uses AirPrint, the current printers are bulky, with the current mobile printers from HP and Canon not being capable of solving the issue.
    Thank you

HP makes a product that enables their mobile printers for use with iPad. There is a video here describing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zVfCpT4X84

  • HP H470B MOBILE PRINTER

BOUGHT AN H470B MOBILE PRINTER IN MAY 2008-WITH MINIMAL USE, HAD PAPER JAM IN AUG. 2009 (3 MOS AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED!) AND AS A RESULT OF PAPER JAM, A SMALL METALLIC BAND THAT RUNS LEFT TO RIGHT (AND APPEARS TO BE PART OF THE CARTRIDGE DOCKING UNIT) BROKE OFF.  NOW THE CARTRIDGE UNIT WILL NO LONGER MOVE AND THE PRINTER IS TOTALLY USELESS.  HAS ANY ONE ELSE HAD THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM?  I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS PRINTER WOULD ONLY LAST +/- 15 MONTHS.
I CALLED CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND INQUIRED ABOUT REPAIR OF THE PRINTER AND WAS NEVER GIVEN ANY INFORMATION ABOUT REPAIR OF THE PRINTER.  I WAS INSTEAD GIVEN THE OPTION OF BUYING 1 OF 3 DIFFERENT MODELS WITH A SALE PRICE AND A DISCOUNT ON THE SERVICE CONTRACT.  I DON' T FEEL RIGHT ABOUT THIS AND WILL SEARCH OTHER BRANDS TO SEE IF THEY WILL LAST 2-3 YEARS WITHOUT A TOTAL BREAKDOWN OR POSSIBLY GIVE UP ON A MOBILE PRINTER.
PLEASE ADVISE IF YOU HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS.

  • Mobile Printing from ipad1

I am a mobile mechanic looking to be able to print from my ipad1 to a mobile printer. Is there a way of doing this if I do not have a router etc working from my mobile workshop? I have power, but nothing else - How about bluetooth?

Yes you can - I've been doing exactly this for 6 months with an iPad 1 and a H470 mobile printer (battery operated) - printing music for my big band at gigs/rehearsals with no wires and no router.
What's important is that you find a wifi printer capable of operating in AdHoc mode - when I was researching this I found no information about whether it was possible, let alone how to actually do it, so once I got it working I posted a blog with all the details... check out http://iosprinting.blogspot.com for the full story, should have everything you need.
    Good luck!

  • Print to barcode or mobile printer from Droid

Can I print to a barcode or other portable mobile printer from a Droid? Bluetooth, wireless or USB. I am thinking about a Zebra or Dymo label or barcode type printer. do any of those companies or someone else offer a printer driver or app?

There is the app called PrintShare. It might work for you...
With PrinterShare® you can share your printer in less than a minute and let other people connected to the Internet (your friends, relative and colleagues) print paper documents on it. You don't need to know or deal with specifics of network sharing, complex settings and figuring out Windows access rights.

  • Wireless printing problem with hp officejet 100 mobile printer from win 7 dell laptop

My hp officejet 100 mobile printer was working fine with my dell XPS 15 in bluetooth wirelessly until my laptop crashed. Now I can not get it to print internet info except with hard wire connection. Page loads half way and then stops. Must shut down laptop and shut off printer or hard wire and shut off bluetooth. down loaded lastest drivers to no avail. printer will print from cell phone and win 8 computer via bluetooth but not win 7 laptop.

Sorry you are having problems with printing from the internet.  I have a few more questions to ask you before I can be of much assistance.
    What web-browser are you using?
Do you have any problems printing from Word or other non-internet documents?
What did you do to fix your computer (system restore, clean install of the OS, etc)?
Have you tried an alternate web-browser?
Make sure to install all of your Microsoft updates to see if that helps.  Otherwise, answer those questions for me please and I will be happy to help.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

    Hi Chuck,
HP ePrint Home & Biz only provide print capabilities over wired or wireless (802.11) network connection, Bluetooth connection is not supported as well the specific model is not supported by the app.
Can I print from the HP ePrint mobile app using USB or Bluetooth?
No. You can only print directly to supported HP printers on a local wireless network.

  • How can I print from my ipad 3 to a mobile printer that only has bluetooth?  Is this possible?

I have an iPad 3 with the most up to date iOS, and am looking to be able to print directly to a mobile printer.  I will be working in a remote area and will not have my computer with me, just the ipad.  The printer is an officejet 150 mobile all-in-one with built in blue tooth.  I can get it to work great from my laptop, but I need it to work from the ipad, any way of doing this?  If so what print app will work?  Or can you only print via wireless on select printers.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

You must have WiFi and an AirPrint enabled printer http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356 check to see if yours is AirPrint enabled or the manufacturer has an update to make it so.

  • Pairing a Mac (OS 10.9) with an HP OFficejet 100 mobile printer

    Hello,
I am running a MacBook Pro with OS 10.9.  I have been successfully using an HP Officejet 100 mobile printer via bluetooth connection until just a few hours ago.  Now, the Mac will not pair with the printer.  When I click the apple logo, go to system preferences, select printer, it will not find the printer.  Nothing has been uninstalled that I am aware.  Can someone please advise me on what to do?  I have powered off both devices and then powered on without success.

    Hi 4stix,
thanks for your suggestions! I managed to pair the printer with my MacBook Pro again by using the security code "000000". Before I never had used the security code. But I still couldn't add the printer to the system preference panel "Printers & Scanners". It simply wouldn't appear in the "Add" window.
Just to make sure it wasn't a Bluetooth issue, I successfully reset the Bluetooth security following your steps. I could pair the printer again, but still I cannot add it as a printer in the Mac OS X system preferences.
When I open the "HP Utility.app" the printer appears there and I can get every kind of status report. I can even print the test page using the button "Print Test Page".
Seems like a Mac OS X Mavericks issue to me. What do you think?
    Edit: To answer your questions:
Did you happen to run any APPLE updates recently? Or between the time that you were/were not able to print? -- Yes, after the last successful printing I installed: iBooks Update, RAW Compatibility Update for Digital Cameras, iTunes, Mail Update for Mavericks. It would be really strange if one of them broke the printer service.
Did you encounter any security or other messaging popup? -- No

    Hi,
I'm happy to announce that there is now an additional solution for mobile printing using the HP NFC/Wireless 1200w Mobile Print Accessory (HP Part Number: E5K46A) that will work on a number of HP Printing devices, please see the link: http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetPDF.aspx%2F4AA4-8235ENW.pdf
The only requirement is that you have the latest firmware revision installed on the device, this can also be powered directly from the devices USB port (in your case OfficeJet 150) via the USB cable.
