I've encountered a problem, I have a webpage which would be browsed under Windows IE/Netscape, but when I try to browse it in Sun's Workstation's Netscape, the Netscape is closed. I don't know why it would be like that, any hints to me? please send me an email if you know. [email protected]
I was wondering if anyone happened to know if a program written for Solaris for Intel can run on a Solaris for Sun... The program would be written using Java and Oracle.

Site not working with Netscape 7
Hello everybody
My site is up at www.Frontiers.uk.net. I used Dreamweaver
CS3, with CSS, on a Mac.
It seems to work fine in IE 6 & 7, Firefox and Safari.
When doing a browser compatibility check, I get one error: "Double
float margin bug", which it says affects IE 6. I don't think this
is causing a problem.
However in Netscape (I've only tried version 7) the site
looks terrible - the right hand link in the navbar drops down to
the second line.
Also, there are two DIVS, one floated left and one floating
right, and in Netscape the right one drops underneath the other. I
know that there can be problems with IE 5, in its dealing with
margins but I havent heard anything about Netscape being a problem?
Also I thought that the IE box model bug can just make the DIVS
narrower, not make one drop below the other.
Dreamweaver isn't throwing up any browser errors for
Netscape.
I thought that hardly anyone would use Netscape, but the
stats for my site say that around 50% of users are using Netscape
(which i find hard to believe!)
Any ideas what I've done wrong or how to fix this for
Netscape?
OK, I seem to have partially fixed this - I'm using a
SpryMenubarHorizontal.css file for the navigation, with a
ul.MenubarHorizontal - width of 720 px, and 8 buttons with
ul.MenuvarHorizontal li - width of 90 px (ie 8 x 90 = 720). This
seems to cause Netscape a problem and when I reduce the width of
each button to 89 pixels, the page lines up properly.
However now the drop down menus (eg under 'Courses') don't
always appear in Netscape, nor do the sideways menus (eg.
'Children's Courses' under the 'Courses' button)
Any ideas how to fix this?

Sample plugins not working with Netscape 7 on Solaris 8.
I'm trying to build a scriptable plugin for deployment into Netscape 7
and Solaris 8.
I finally got mozilla 1.4.1 built under Solaris 8 and deployed the
plugin from modules/plugin/tools/sdk/samples/simple. By deployed I
mean that I copied the libnpsimple.so file to the netscape plugin
directory and copied the .xpt files to the netscape components
directory. I even removed the xpti.dat file from the netscape
components directory so that it will get regenerated when netscape 7
is started.
I started up netscape 7 and checked about plugins and I find the
simple plugin in the list of enabled plugins. So far, so good.
I open the test.html file in modules/plugin/tools/sdk/samples/simple
into the browser and click on the version button and I get an alert
box that displays "undefined". Also, if I reload the page netscape
crashes.
I also tried the scriptable sample plugin with essentially the same
result.
Does anyone know what I need to do to get a sample plugin to work with
Netscape 7 on Solaris 8.
Some help would be very much appreciated.

How do I stop scrolbars in a DIV in Netscape
Hi
I have a containing DIV which displays fine in Firefox and
IE, but when it's dynamic data extends too low, scrollbars appear
within the DIV (only in Netscape).
What do I put in the CSS to stop this?
Cheers

Glad to see you found your solution. Don't worry about
Netscape too much

Problem in calling BW web templates from Netscape 7.0
Hi all
I have a problem in calling BW web template from Netscape 7.0, it gives an error " port number not accepted for security reasons" .
It works on Netscape 8.0 and ie.
regards
PaulThis is the very frequently asked question about Netscape.
http://ilias.ca/netscape/browserfaq/#portaccess
Solution is:
find the file <b>c:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\defaults\pref\all.js</b>
and append the following string to this file:
<b>pref("network.security.ports.banned.override", "1080");</b> -
Mac-Mini & Netscape 7.2
Does anybody have any experience using the Mac-Mini and Netscape 7.2 ...
I relieze some would not perfer NS but that's not the question.
If it matters, 1.42 w/1g Ram.
Any postive or Negitive experiences?
ThanksNick,
Thanks for the info.
However, I need to know about netscape 7.2 & the MM.
Without getting too deep,
my wife has been using NS for the past 10 yrs., upgrading as it came along.
She loves it and never had issues others claim to have had.
She's comfortable with it and so am I.
I Know when NS was purchased , the next two releases had some issues, but we never upgraded to them, only the latest which is a good as it gets.
I've been using NS since it was released (don't want to date myself) Never had an issue that was worth remembering.
In particular, I must have mail stored in NS for the past 5 yrs. totaling, A guess 2-3000 messages.
I have Mozilla and Firefox on my system ... have never been able to see a difference both in performance and speed, so I personally choose to stay within my comfort zone.
For me;
Mozilla = Hav'nt been able to change themes even though I re-downloaded it 2 times.
Firefox = no mail program.
thunderbird = same.
In fact this is coming to you by way of NS 7.2.
My question is based on MacMini and NS for a simple reason...
My wife is now convinced to purchase and is waiting for the 1.5 MM to arrive (she's on an older imac using NS and will want the same config., so I'm doing a little hunting to see if any issues exist with NS & MM before the fact).
So, hope that gives a bit of an insight into the question..
Thanks -

The less info you provide about your problem means
the less we can help you. Try to look at the
problem from an external perspective and provide
all the data necessary to put your problem in
perspective. -
We are evaluating the Cluster features of WebLogic and got a eval
license for the Cluster Support.
I am running a default cluster (mycluster) using the default Multicast
address (237.0.0.1) and am seeing
some strange behaviour/errors.
Would appreciate some asistance in this matter.
Our Environment
I created directory in a shared file system to host the cluster.
(h:\kkanth\weblogic)
Created the mycluster directory and other directories as recommended in
the Administrator's guide.
I have two WL Servers (asera190 and asera162) with permanent IP
addresses of 10.1.1.61 and 10.1.1.70 respectively. They run NT 4.0.
I'm using a NES proxy on asera190 with the plugin for WL specified in
obj.conf alongwith the other parameters.
I'm able to have both the servers join to cluster mycluster and the WL
Admin Console does display a tree that depicts the cluster as well as
servers in it (server61 and server70). The individual server directories
are being created in h:\kkanth\weblogic\mycluster directory with the
appropriate access.log and weblogic.log files.
When a browser attempts to access a URL such as
http://asera190/weblogic/snoop it does return the proper response, but
all requests are processed by asera162 which is listed first in the
obj.conf. Opening multiple sessions does not cause the requests to be
sent to asera190 which is the second server in the cluster. When
asera162 is shutdown and removed from the cluster, I hoped that
subsequent requests would go to asera190. However , depending on the
origin of the request, different errors were thrown. If I try to access
http://asera190/weblogic/snoop from a browser on asera190, I get an
error "Failure at line 351 of file proxy.cpp" ,while trying the same URL
from asera162 cause "Failure at line 706 of file proxy.cpp".
I'm attaching the weblogic.properties file kept in h:\kkanth\weblogic
directory as well as the obj.conf file in the ....\config\ directory of
asera190.
We are running NES 3.5.1 and have setup proxy35.dll appropriately.

Versioning (Corporate Time)
Hello,
I am wondering if and how the versioning of Oracle Calendar correlates with the versioning of Corporate Time?
In particular: Is there an Oracle version of Corporate Time 5.1?I don't know about version 6 but once I tried to find out a bit about the history. These are my notes:
Oracle Calendar Server was Steltor CorporateTime Server that has been more or less intergrated into OCS but has still (in OCS 9 and I believe in 10 too) its own database.
Oracle bought Steltor in 2002. (Steltor was before 2000 called CS&T/Lexacom).
I also believe Netscape Calendar Server is related or share history with this product (F.ex. SGI Irix and Netscape SuiteSpot Calendar Server, see http://docs.sun.com/source/816-5526-10/).
If you go to http://www.steltor.com/notes/ you can read:
Oracle CorporateTime is Oracle's standalone Calendar offering.
For Steltor CorporateTime documentation, please click here.
Version 5.3 seems to be the last before Oracle bought it, and Oracle CorporateTime 5.4 was a standalone version av of the one in OCS 9 (?)
http://www.steltor.com/notes/corptime-server/5_4/admin/admintoc.htm
http://www.steltor.com/notes/corptime-server/5_4/refmanual/reftoc.htm
The database is not Oracles. Th Datafiles has the string Raima Data Manager Version 3.21A in them. Raima Corp offes today Raima Database Manager ++ (RDM++, prev. db_Vista), a database management library for C. -
I also disabled DirectorShockwave.plugin. Crashes have increased exponentially in the months since installing it (for docx files).

1. Interesting that you ask about Netscape. In my research, I noticed it could mess proper operability. It is not in Apps; however, I did see files containing netscape, but I believe they pertained to Developer files. Yes, here they are:
NetscapeMoviePlugIn.xcodeproj [folder]
NetscapeMoviePlugIn [folder]
Both folders show examples for developers in the WeKit.
2. Ownership sequence of events: Wiener first owned, sold to Pinson, likely fully loaded, but particularly with Final Cut Pro, which was my daughter's main high school interest. Before she gave me the MBP, Pinson reinstalled most of the original files, sans Final Cut, and I believe residual files remained, thereby causing muckups.
3. Model is 2006, I believe. most of the files indicate that year or 2007. Here is System Profiler info:
Model Name: MacBook Pro 15"
Model Identifier: MacBookPro2,2
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.33 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP22.00A5.B07
SMC Version (system): 1.12f5
4.Can I upgrade to another system with this MBP/processor?
Answer: I'm broke. Editing from my major client, Random House, went into the tubes with the rest of the economy, along with the other publishers I edited for, so I am writing my two books. My home has required major repairs, and though everyone finds it big and lovely, to me it's a money pit. Just sayin'. Wanna buy a brick house in Colorado Springs ; ) Leigh -

Welcome to the persnickety parsing world of NSAPI.
Couple of general hints:
Try hitting the path that is configured for the plugin and ensuring you
can see config info?
/serlvets/foo.blah?__WebLogicBridgeConfig
But the problem I think is that your object definition is not referring
to the function.
Init fn="load-modules" funcs="wl-proxy,wl-init"
shlib="c:/weblogic/bin/proxy36.dll"
Init fn="wl-init"
<Object name="servlets" ppath="*/servlets/*">
Service fn=init_exit WebLogicHost=localhost WebLogicPort=7001
</Object>Should be:
Service fn=wl-proxy

Using an Applet to run another application
To anyone that can help.
Simply, can I have an applet that runs an PC application?
More detail:
I am relatively new to the Java Development environment, but so far have put together a reasonable intranet web application that takes user input and writes to an Oracle database. From this information, I have then invoked Microsoft Word and populated a template with information to create a document.
All fine and good, but I am running everything under W2000 so I have server and client all in the one place. I am using Tomcat 4 as my server, the application is written using JSP and my own Beans.
The principle of how the Word link works is: within the JSP information is written to a Bean, which creates a file and then executes a WordAPI using:
cmd = "WordAPI.exe";
try {
Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd);
This is OK with everything on one machine, but I now need to set it up on a server and this will not invoke Word on the client. I thought that if I turned the bean into an applet then it would run at the client end and that would resolve the problem, but it doesn't work. Am I breaking some rules or trying to do the impossible?
Thanks for any helpI think it boils down to a matter of security. An applet generally runs in what is known as a sandbox. Since you're talking about an intranet and you didn't say anything about Netscape browser, I'll assume that you're only interested in IE. In IE, you can start by testing to see if your application will work if you click:
Tools-->Internet Options-->Security-->Trusted sites-->sites
and add the intranet URL to make it a trusted site.
If that doesn't work, you may have to sign the applet and put it in a .cab file. To do this you'll need to use the cabarc command (if you can't find the command on your system, search www.microsoft.com web site for a download). After having signed the applet, you still have to make sure that the client's IE security settings are just right for what you needed to do. For this, you'll have to look at:
Tools-->Internet Options-->Security-->Local intranet-->Custom Levels...
Good Luck!

UBE filters are not running a batch file as
an external program. The batch file is located in the postoffice spool
directory and has the correct permissions.
<P>
Change the RUN command to REJECT to check that it was actually triggered.
<P>
<B>Background:</B>
<P>
Example:
<P>
filter.cfg is as follows:
<P>
:Test Channel-To "ecxpert@host\.domain\.com" RUN "test.bat"<BR>
:sendback Channel-To "ecxpert@host\.domain\.com" COPY "pvtest1@host\.domain\.com"
<P>
filter.opt is as follows:
<P>
# To parse header fields as well as envelope fields remove the comment (#) from the following<BR>
# line. See Help for more information<BR>
parseheader:1
<P>
test.bat resides in C:\Netscape\Suitespot\MailServer\Spool and is as follows:
<P>
date /t >> test.txt
<P>
This would be 100% correct for any Unix system, with the addition of a top line
to the script determining what shell to use. However, with NT, shell type
definition is not part of a batch file.
Correcting the UBE filter in filter.cfg to read as follows cures the problem:
<P>
:Test Channel-To "ecxpert@host\.domain\.com" RUN "cmd.exe /c test.bat"
<BR>
:sendback Channel-To "ecxpert@host\.domain\.com" COPY "pvtest1@host\.domain\.com"
<P>
The following also works:
<P>
:Test Channel-To "ecxpert@host\.domain\.com" RUN "cmd.exe /c date /t test.txt"<BR>
:sendback Channel-To "ecxpert@host\.domain\.com" COPY "pvtest1@host\.domain\.com"
<P>
The reasoning behind this is that batch files are scripts for CMD.EXE, the
NT Shell, and therefore cannot be executed directly. CMD.EXE has the /C
switch to run a following command, or batch file, and exit on completion.
<P>
Another solution would be to write an executable program in BASIC or any
other chosen language to perform the same functions. However, do compile it to an
executable before trying to use it since, for example, a *.BAS file will
run in Windows but it means nothing to Messaging Server.Look at the documentation of Runtime.exec()
There are versions of that method that allow you to specify the name of an executable (the name of your batch file) and also an array of strings with environment parameters. I've never used this myself, but it should work like this (lookup the documentation!):
Runtime.getRuntime().exec("bla.bat", new String[] { "ROOTDIR=" + rootdir });

Why did you remove HD Audio via MINI USB out in Lollipop update?
I am really upset. I would never have updated to Lollipop if I had known you had removed HD Audio output via mini USB. Why?? Is it coming back? You still advertise this tablet as having this feature when sold, but then you take it away?
