About ODI's CDC

Hi,
Oracle's use ODI,
Change Dada Capture during its capabilities to use.
Does not capture the changed data.
Originally, I was all taken care of,
Many times I tried to test the same way.
Initially, the work has been good, the moment he began them.
One point I do not know whether this is a problem.
The success and failure of the log to log bigyohaebwa do not differ.
So, reinstalling Oracle.
Once again, he succeeded.
I think to create a table in DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH.CREATE_CHANGE_SET Journal,
Gets value of this table do not like coming.
Please help.

Hi,
Are you able to find out any info on this?
Appreciate your help on any leads..

  • ODI's CDC Support for MS SQL Server 2000

    Hi,
Does ODI provides CDC with log for MS SQL Server 2000? I read somewhere that we need to get a separately priced adapter for this because ODI supports only trigger based CDC for MS SQL Server 2000 and 2005.
Could anyone please shed some light on this?
    Thank you.

  • Asking about ODI agent ?

    Hi...
Based on my system, I have created about 50 scenarios and 6 ODI agent. Each of the ODI agent will be handled about 8 scenarios. This is my configuration for the ODI agent:-
    ODI_INIT_HEAP=32m
    ODI_MAX_HEAP=256m
Then, based on my configuration, each of ODI agent is set as 256M.
My question is which one better if I am using 1/2 agent with bigger MAX_HEAP size or used 6 agent with the config as above.
    Please advise me..
    TQ,

  • Questions about ODI Agent

Being new to ODI, I have some simple questions.
ODI server is installed on Windows-2008 machine. Its repository is on MS-SQL-Server database which is also on a Windows-2008 machine.
A non-ODI process is creating files on a Unix server, which needs to be picked up by ODI and loaded into a MS-SQL-Server table.
*(Q 1):* Do we need to install ODI Agent on Unix, so that ODI can "see" the unix files? OR is there another simpler way??
*(Q 2):* Is there an Oracle link about installing ODI11g Agent on Unix? I only see documents talking about installing ODI Agent on Windows.
*(Q 3):* What minimum ODI components need to be installed on Unix, so that ODI Agent runs on Unix?

You need to install ODI agent on Unix or go for accessing UNIX file from WINDOWS application eg Samba

The Agent installation process is basically same

  • About ODI Log Line granularity

I'm trying to build a dataquality tool to certificate the quality of the data. I've read the other thread about this argument and i've found that there are 3 tables
    SNP_SESS_TXT_LOG
    SNP_SESS_TASK
    SNP_SESS_TASK_LOG
that maintain task information. There are also two files (name.bad and name.error) that describe the log of the last loading of each files.
I want to create a report as the following:
    TASK NO : 345
    LOAD FROM : SAMPLE.TXT
    TOTAL LINE : 1000
    NOT LOADED : 25
    WARNING : 400
    DUPLICATE LINE: 56
    NOT NUMBER LINE : 60
can you confirm me that the only mode is parsing the above sources?

  • An Urgent Query about ODI

    Hi,
I have done a scenario which executes sum.sh file. This scenario is successfully executed by OraclediAgent. Now a web service(Let from bpel/soap ui) invokes this agent using agent's wsdl url (like this:-
http://localhost:8886/oraclediagent/OdiInvoke?wsdl) and then the OraclediAgent execute the scenario. I am successful for this case too.Now my questions are:-
*1)Is it possible to return the summation result to the invoker web service(bpel/soap ui) through odi.*
*2)Is it possible to show the o/p(result of the summation) in odi console.*
    and my last question is:
*3)Every time when the bpel/soap ui invokes OraclediAgent it gets session id as a return. How do I know the execution of the sum.sh file is successfully done or not wrt to invoker.(or more clear to say in weblogic console?)*
    Please ans.It's urgent
    Thanks

    hi,
any update??At least please tell me the reverse procedure i.e i also want to send two number from webservice to the odiOScommand so that the the sum.sh will run successfully where the odiOscommand parameter are variables not a static value. How'ii I do it?

    Hi Jerome Fr
    Thanks For valuable advice
Data warehousing means ? is it like oracle DB ? Please advice on this Data warehousing is a concept where business data gets stored into relational database ( like Oracle,SQL Server, Sybase etc )
    >
From you point what my understanding is
ODI and ETL or ELT (Informatica PowerCenter) both these are tool that can extract data from different source like oracle db , sql db ,db2 etc and put the data in data warehousing? if iam wrong plz advice
ODI/ETL will pull data from various sources and put into target area .
Here target area can be relational database ( like Oracle,SQL Server, Sybase etc ) , or flat file or xml or queue etc.
BI Or OBIEE is a tool used for doing reports/dashboards on the data that is stored in data warehouse
    In short
ODI & ETL pulls data to data warehouse and based on that data BI toll develops a report ? is it ?
    Yes
    Is BI a Reporting tool?
BI is business inteligence .. and it is not limited to reporting only .
It can be use to predict future business also

  • Question about ODI execution log

    Hi guys,
I need to delete the result of the execution of a package I'm referring to get in a table if the scenario runs with status of warning, mistake or sucess. I can see the values in the operation.
Do you know uin which table ODI stores this values?

  • Odi waitforlogdata CDC problem

    Hi,
I m trying to create a package including the tool of odiwaitforlogdata. The package is working fine unless the name of the table doesnt include an underscore '_'.
    EX:
If the table name is 'SUBSECTORS', it is working fine but if it is 'SUB_SECTORS' it is giving an error on the step of odiwaitforlogdata saying that 'table or view doesnt exist'.
    Tnx in advance.

    This is normal, expected behavior.
The ODI 10.1.3.5 documentation states the following:
    -TABLE_NAME=<tableName>
Note: This option works ONLY for tables in a model journalized in simple mode.
    -CDC_SET_NAME=<cdcSetName>
Note: This option works ONLY for tables in a model journalized in consistent mode.
This means that parameter -TABLE_NAME of OdiWaitForLogData is not expected to work when the Datastores have been journalized in consistent mode.
The current behavior is consistent with the ODI documentation.
To resolve the case, use -CDC_SET_NAME parameter instead of -TABLE_NAME.
    Remark:
The reason for table names without underscore "_" working in consistent journalization mode with -TABME_NAME parameter, is due to the fact that the logic in code doesn't require to access SNP_SUBSCRIBERS table.

  • ODI Data Profiling and Data Quality

    Hi experts,
Searching about ODI features for data profiling and data quality I found (I think) many ... extensions? for the product, that confuse me. Cause I think there are at least three diferents ways to do data profiling and data quality:
In first place, I found that ODI has out of the box features for data profiling and data quality, but, acording to the paper, this features are too limited.
The second way I found was the product Oracle Data Profiling and Oracle Data Quality for Oracle Data Integrator 11gR1 (11.1.1.3.0) that is in the download page of ODI. Acording to the page, this product extends the existing inline Data Quality and Data profiling features of ODI.
Finally, the third way is Oracle Enterprise Data Quality that is another product that can be integrated to ODI.
I dont know if I understood good my alternatives. But, in fact, I need a general explanation of what ODI offer to do Data Quality and Data profiling. Can you help me to understand this?
    Very thanks in advance.

Hi after 11.1.1.3 version of ODI release, oracle no longer supports ODP/ODQ which is a trillium software product and this not owned by oracle. Oracle is recommending the usage OEDQ for quality purposes. It's better if you could spend time on OEDQ rather than trying to learn and implement ODP/ODQ in ODI

  • Steps to export various objects created in v10.1.3.5.6 ODI + steps to import back in v11.1.1.7 ODI

    All,
As we all do these days and for reasons mostly associated with budget constraints, I have been asked to wear a brand new hat - the "ODI Guru Hat" - at my client's site to facilitate the migration of their v11.1.1.x Hyperion EPM implementation to a v11.1.2.3.5xx Hyperion EPM implementation.
The v10.1.3.5.6 ODI objects\processes are currently set up to refresh a v11.1.1.3.x Planning application currently fall into 2 categories:
    1. metadata management (ie, updating the Planning application with the latest Account and Entity dimension changes from the SAP ERP); and,
    2. data management (ie, updating the Planning application with the latest data file from the SAP ERP).
The requirement at hand involves replicating everything currently set up to operate under the v10.1.3.5.6 ODI into a v11.1.1.7.x ODI instance. The v11.1.1.7.x ODI instance has been installed on a different server to the one on which v10.1.3.5.6 ODI instance is installed. Brand new master and work RDBMS repositories have also been created to host the v11.1.1.7 ODI
So far and not knowing much about ODI, I have exported as many objects as I could locate under the Designer\Operator\Security\Topology components of the v10.1.3.5.6 ODI instance before importing them back (using the Duplication method) into the v11.1.1.7.x ODI instance. Once imported, I have re-pointed the paths to different directories on the new servers.
I would like to know if there are any other steps I should be aware of and\or look into. Better still, I would appreciate it enormously if someone could point me into the right direction as to any documented best practice steps to follow to perform migrations from one ODI version to another, when both ODI instances have been installed on different servers.
    Thanks in advance,
    Cheers,
    JBM

    Hey,
Just export and import won't work with different versions. Using Upgrade utility(ua.bat), we need to upgrade to current version.
We should upgrade the ODI from 10g to 11g, then we can export objects from one environment to another.
Check the below link to upgrade ODI::
    11g Oracle Data Integrator - Upgrading from 10g - Part 4/11g - ODIExperts.com
    Thanks,
    Mady

  • Is ODI 12c included in 12c Oracle Server License?

    Hello,
I'm looking into the licensing information and the only thing I was able to find out about ODI 12c is for Data integrator Enterprise Edition, that costs some 23k per CPU.
Plus Golden Gate for access to non-Oracle data sources.
Can someone please let me know if there's a basic version of ODI included in Oracle Server 12c license and if possible provide a link? It would be very helpful, since my current customers are using basic OWB and if they got to shell out 23k+ per CPU for ODI I think they'll look into the alternatives on the market.
    Kind regards,
    m

No, ODI license is not included with Oracle DB license.

  • ODI Commands, emailing, moving and checking files

    Hi Everyone,
This time I am posting here because what I would like to do is the following:
*1. Make ODI search a folder and see if there is any data available*
So I assume that I will have to use something like:
    a) cmd /c dir C:\<Folders Path…>\<File_Name>*.<extension>
    b) cmd /c dir C:\<Folders Path…>\<File_Name>*.<extension> /b /a:-d > C:\< Folders Path…>\<File_Name>.lst
Would it be better to use a) rather than b) I do not see any sense in using a *.lst.?
*2. Load the file, and not use reverse engineering:*
    How can I do this?
I had already posted this in the forum, but I think I was getting a wrong idea over it.
Default data types when an Excel reverse engineering
*3. To load my data into a Temporal Table and transform the data*
I have already done it. :-)
*4. Insert it into the table that’s is going to be used*
I have already done it. :-)
*5. Once successful move the uploaded file, move it to another folder and modify the name of it adding the system date.*
    OdiFileMove "-FILE=C:\<Folders Path…>\<File_Name>.<extension>" "-TOFILE=C:\<Folders Path…>\<File_Name>.<extension>" "-OVERWRITE=YES" "-CASESENS=NO" "-RECURSE=YES"
But how do I add the name to the file? Any suggestions, ideas???
I do have to move this to three different folders, so I will just have to use this ODI command three times and that will be it, no?
*6. Send an email informing if the uploading has been successful or not in:*
Step 1, Informing rather the file has been found or not
Step 2, Informing if the file has a mistake or anything –data format-
Step 5, Informing if the file has been moved to any of the three folders –ToLoad, Loaded, Erros- and attaching the file, and message saying how many lines were imported etc, etc….
Would it be something like this????
    OdiSendMail "-MAILHOST=<my.host.whatever>" "-FROM=<sender_email>" "-SUBJECT=<My beautiful project>" "-TO=<receiver_emailn>" "-CC=<xperson_email>" "-ATTACH=C:\<Folders Path…>\<File_Name>.<extension>"
Email content, email content, email content, email content…..
Well so far this is what I will have to do, and I would really like to count with your help, ideas and guidance.
P.D.: I have been trying to get some further reading about ODI “Oracle Data Integrator 11g: Getting Started”, but the book I am looking forward to get is not yet published, and every month they delay it one more month.

Suthirta really Thank you so much!!!
Before I wrote you, I have already created and implemented what I described you, so:
    + I created a new procedure.
+ On the definition tab as you suggested me, I changed the “Source Technology” to Oracle and the “Target Technology” to Sunopsis API
+ On the Detail Tab, I have created my new command
    - On the “Command on Source” tab
    I have placed the SELECT '<whatever_name>' || replace(sysdate,' ', '_') AS FILENAME FROM DUAL;
And first left of the values by default or should I change them to the following:
    Tecnology: Oracle
Context: The one that I am using
    Transaction: Autocommit
    Transaction Isolation: <Unidentified>
Schema: The one that I am using
    Commit: <Unidentified>
    - On the “Command on Target” tab
    I have placed the #FILENAME
And first left of the values by default or should I change them to the following:
    Tecnology: Sunopsis API
Context: The one that I am using
    Transaction: Autocommit (appears as default)
Transaction Isolation: <Unidentified> (appears as default)
    Schema: <Unidentified> (appears as default)
    Commit: <Unidentified> (appears as default)
And so far, It should be working no? I am getting an error :-(
On the OdiFileMove I have done the following:
    OdiFileMove "-FILE=C:\ <path1…>\<Original_File_Name>.xls" "-TOFILE=C:\ <path2…>\#FILENAME.xls" "-OVERWRITE=YES" "-CASESENS=NO" "-RECURSE=YES"
