Im unable to download the oracle dataguard tool.
please give me the details that, how i can download this tool
and how to setup oracle dataguard for my database.

Data gaurd is available only with Database enterprise edition.

I am looking to implement Data Guard in my environment and could like to gather some information on this if it is feasible and then probably a POC prior doing it.
I have a few queries and would to get it clear. My objective is to offload the primary database from reporting. Thus, I would like to setup a reporting DB.
1. It is said that a logical standby database would be suitable for this instance. Can I setup physical standby DB and achieve similarly?
2. How can I maintain the synchonization between the primary DB and the newly open standby DB after open? Upon activation, will the standby DB be "broken in sync" and require a resetup again daily?
3. Can I achieve a real time reporting DB? Or will it be always a day behind assuming we do it daily activation of reporting DB and then 'destroy' it at the end of the day and rebuilt again?
4. You mentioned Materialized view on logical standby DB. These are built in the logical standby DB and query directly from the primary DB?
5. Data Guard, do we require a separate Oracle license?

Oracle Dataguard Help

I am trying to setup oracle dataguard(10g) in logical standby mode and i'm getting this error.
Could anyone please help me with this

when i am trying at the standby server to get into managed recovery mode i am getting this error. Any ideas why??

Well, the question is almost philosophic... 
In 9i, there is a Migration Guide whereas in 10g there is a Upgrade Guide. 
Furthermore, in 9i, there is the command line startup migrate whereas in 10g that's startup upgrade.
Somebody think upgrade when go to new release, and migration when go to new version. 
Others think upgrade when new version replace database in place, and migration when new version include a move of database. 
Another point of view is : upgrade is for technical, and migration for application/data. 
 
Well, after these explanations, your upgrade/migratation notion will not be more clear, but I think that is not very important, only a terminology game. The most important is to know what you need : new version or new release.

i want deploy my oracle dataguard on a remote site on a separate lease line
and on the second nic of the primary. i just have a concern that what
configurations should be made in the primary or standby to make sure the replication can work as the first nic is connected to receive the general database
data and the second nic is being planned for replication only.
so how standby will come to know that it has to pick which one of then.

ABAP+JAVA stack and oracle dataguard

I use Oracle Dataguard for my Data recovery System.
How can I manage tha Java part of nw2004s. In case of failover or switchover, the ABAP part is OK but the J2EE cannot start.

It's ok guys. I just replace the j2ee/cluster directory of standby system by the one of source system.
The j2e engine can be started.

I am not able to view Forms Server version in Help: About Oracle Applications after the forms upgrade 10.1.2.3.0 after the forms upgrade 10.1.2.3.0 as per note:Upgrading OracleAS 10g Forms and Reports to 10.1.2.3 (437878.1)
Java/jre upgraded to 1.7.0.45 and JAR files regenerated(without force option). Able to opne forms without any issues.

Presumably you are refering to oracle.sql.TIMESTAMP. While this is intended to (and does) correspond to java.sql.Timestamp it can't be a subclass because it needs to be a subclass of oracle.sql.Datum.

Can we have everything about Oracle in one drive?

Hello, everybody,
We got a backup database server. Since it is just for backup, we don't want to spend too much $ on this one.
My question is: can we have everything about Oracle installled in the same drive?
It means that Archive, Redo Logs, Oracle system itself, the data, etc will be loaded into one single drive.
Is that OK?
Any input will be highly appreciated?

If you have a sponsorship, I would recommend taking classes with Oracle University. The other resources are documentation, functional and technical depending on what your interests are.
If you can load Vision database or access vision database (I think solutionbeacon offers a free account to login and play around), that will be another resource as well.
As you learn, join as much user groups like this one, and review all questions and answers in the discussions to understand and learn more.
