About payroll

hi everyone
can anyone tell me what is the connection among employee, element, element link, payslip and formula? i am quite confused about how to integrate them to calculate the payment result. by the way plz recommend books that could help me to understand how to program the payment formula.

can i consider payroll as a bridge to connect element and employee?
can we count one employee's cost into the department they belong to?
by setting up element link?
eg. employee b belong to department B. we need to transfer b's cost to B.
at first, assign b to B by personnel assignment interface. then choose corresponding payroll.
next we setup element link. assign it with B and payroll same as b. then setup the account info and check the "transfer GL" box. when run payroll the system will automaticly transfer everything about b to GL?

Hi,
I don't think you can convert those codes at all because there are no objects link to B1 in your code if it is not using B1 SDK.
You must redesign everything to build same functionality. It would take less time than converting as you intend to.

Hi,
1.) You can use the combination of Employee Sub Group(ESG) and Pay scale group(PSG) & level to define a grade structure.
As per your country specific configutation you can use the Basic Pay componenet using the Indirect valuation for calculation and deriving at an specific value .
2.) By using the PSType,PSArea, PSG & PSL you an define a paystructure to default ur Wt's in IT0008

since u have done the certification ...would say it does help...but if u hav eprev programming bggrnd..it'll help u out writing n modifying the schemas and writing something on ur own by reading the payroll log...but not necessary u can learn by viewing the log, even if u dont possess any programming lang knowledge!!

Yes, i would like to know about Payroll Processes that are particular to payroll in Bangladesh and implemented in SAP.
I would also like to know which would be a better option for implementation of payroll for Bangladesh.
Option 1: Copy 99 international payroll and name it as Bangladesh (else)
Option 2: Copy 40 India payroll and name it as Bangladesh as there is lot of similarity in Taxes between these two countries.
Also, we already have PA, OM & Time Management in implementation scope and they already exists in the system.
I have searched help.sap.com and the relevant documents to Payroll in Bangladesh and to some extent i am familiar with the Bangladesh laws that relate to HR and Payroll.

If it is Payroll US,
then all the relevant note's and HRSP Level is document in the year end page
"Service.sap.com/hrusa" --> Year end

Creation of customized Wage Type Reporter

Hi,
My client were using the Standard Wage Type reporter i.e.PC00_M11_WTK. Now beacuse of security of not viewing the amounts of the employees , Client has taken away the authorization from the users the standard Tcode.
They want me to preapare the report for wage type -196E,9IPI,9IPC,9IP3,9IP5,9IP6,9IP7,9IP8,/3F1,/3F2,/3F3 AND /3F4. They dnot want the standard report. They want to customized a new report with above mention wage types?
I have already defined the FS to my ABAP HR,
I required your help to know the table from where the amount of the above wage type will pick up?

Payroll results are kept in cluster. You have to access and read the cluster.
But instead of creating a report with abap I can suggest you trying this solution.
Create a payroll infotype by using system standart for the wage types to be reported.
Assign authorization for this infotype to only related employee
Put payroll infotype in info group.
After that employee can have the report by using ad-hoc query.

Why do i always get conversion failure when converting pdf files to xls in exportpdf program?

I have had export pdf for months. I cannot export pdf files to excel files. It always says conversion failure. Anyone have any idea why this is happening? I am so frustrated! This was supposed to make my payroll reports easier, but it has not helped at all.

I can understand your frustration. Are you converting via the ExportPDF website, or from within Adobe Reader? Does the conversion failure occur every time that you try to convert a file (has it ever worked for you)?
Since you're talking about payroll, I'm assuming that you're accessing ExportPDF from a corporate computer. You may want to check with your IT department to make sure there are no firewall/proxy settings that limit your access to the Internet.
Also, make sure that you're using a supported web browser. You can find a list here: System Requirements | Adobe Acrobat Pro and Online Services
Finally, if you're using Reader, you can try disabling OCR (optical character recognition) by following the steps in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (OCR) when converting PDF to Word or Excel.
Please let us know how it goes.

Country specific to 99

Dear Experts,
Kindly let me know the possibilities to use some country version for other countries for which SAP localization not released
Since there is no SAP country specific version for Oman, is it possible to call Saudi specific schema and country specific feature from Other country versions (99)

Hi Rajesh,
i thing your talking about payroll.. If you don't have country specific payroll for Oman then you have to go for the international payroll. For this you need to use 99 as the country grouping ( molga). And use the international payroll schema X000.
you need to incorporate all your statutory deduction or payments via writing PCR. you should not copy the feature or schema for other country version because all this schema and feature will read the value from it's own specific country group tables. For an example if you copy the schema for Saudi, it will read the saudi country group payroll related tables.
But if you still wanted to make a copy , then you copy and make it to customer feature or schema and ask your ABAP er to change the structure of schema or feature to read the value according to your country group 99.

OTL Implementation Questions

Dear All,
I have an OTL requirement something like this -
1. HRMS is installed and Payroll is Shared
2. Have a legacy system that will feed HRMS/OTL on a monthly basis the begining
balances like Vacation, Sick, Bereavement etc.
3. Need to create Timekeeper Groups (Assignment Sets) only, no Self Service,
but need to incorporate Time Entry Validation rules
4. Show Begining Balances, usage and Monthly Totals in the Layout.
5. Allow Corrections
6. Have a placeholder on the layout, once TK gets paper signature
7. Interface ending balances back to legacy system (BEE/System Extract ?)
Questions:
1. Does payroll need to be defined and assigned to assignments, for Time Elements?
2. Any pointers as to how to achieve each of the above

The reason I am asking about payroll is, because for OTL we need to setup nonrecurring elements, right?
But the HRMS guide (Part No. B31613-03) says -
"Duration of Element Entries
Some entries are valid for one pay period only. For example, to produce an employee's
wages or overtime pay for a period you process the entries of regular hours worked or
overtime hours. You define these elements with the processing type nonrecurring.
Notice that pay periods are determined by the payroll to which an employee is
assigned. Employees must be assigned to a payroll to receive nonrecurring elements,
even if you are entering these for information only and not processing them.
Other entries, such as salary or company car, should persist until you change them, or
they reach their end date, or the employee's assignment changes so that he or she is no
longer eligible for the element. You define these elements with the processing type
recurring.

Could you let me know how to customize the Timekeeper layout to show the Monthly Begining Balances from Legacy system, current usage and the monthly ending balances. Do we have to create three element types for e.g. "Begining Vacation", "Vacation Usage" and "Ending Vacation".

HR REPORT about GET PAYROLL ISSUE!

i using LDB pnp to report about PY data!
i get PY data using GET PAYROLL!
one case occurs as follow:
search one person(99005500) using personid number i will get result ok!
all other condition not change! just in personid(pernr-pernr) condition, i put mass person id!
in these person, some id < 9900500, in this time, the person id 99005500 some period py data
can't display out!
i have to check period list using call method pay->read_result
                                                       IMPORTING
                                                             list = mylist. in GET PERNR !
i find mylist have different!
in first scene:
    mylist data contain all data about this person: begin with 20060110
but in last scene:
    mylist data contain data just begin with 20080804
so i think miss py data cause by mylist change !
i in SAP demo code:EXAMPLE_PNP_GET_PAYROLL i have saw:
