system copy : how to backup your rfc connections, partner profiles (we20) amd ports in IDOC processing (we21) ???
    Hi forum,
if you want to copy your production system to your quality assurance system you can export users and later on reimport
it to save work. That's good.
But how about RFC connections, partner profiles and ports in IDOC processing ? Anyway to export and reimport it later on ?
    Thank you for your help.
    Kind regards
    O.Eggert

    Hi forum,
in the meantime I found out how to handle this matter. May be this solution is not very elegant, but it works.
As for RFC-Connections there are several tables beginning with rfc. e.g., rfccheck. But 4 of it only differ from one system
to the next. These are rfcdes, rfcdoc, rfcattrib and rfccheck. What I did is the following : I used
    brspace -u sapsr3/<password> -f tbexport -t "RFC3"
and quite simply exported these tables. Then I deleted some of the RFC-Connections, both ABAP and TCP/IP. After reimporting
what I exported before all these destinations were availlable again. As for ABAP the password had to be reentered but this
can be avoided, too. Have a look at transaction /nsecstore. The tables behind it are RSECTAB and RSECACTB, rspectively.
Export it after having exported the rfc* tables and reimport it after having reimported the rfc* tables. Very important : enable
    the option "consistent export" !!!
It worked this way although there might be better and more elegant solutions.
As for transaction we20 check sap not 182172.
Hope that I could be of profit to this forum.
    Kind regards
    Olaf Eggert
    p.s.
    import command : brspace -u sapsr3/<password> -f tbimport.
Them select what you exported before.

  • PI' RFC  Connection pool  doubt.

    Hi PI exports:
i have a doubt about  pi' RFC  Connection pool ,pi RFC receive channel can set the conn pool size ,but when start the rfc receiver channel ,is there always only one Connection  pool ,or there is only one Connection  pool  instance?

    Hi,
Connection poolins size means how many number of connection you want to make open to send data to ECC, We can define maximum number of connection in Receiver RFC Adapter,Go to additional parameters section and define Max Number of connection give the number there, thats it.Internally it works as Connection poolin mechanism.

  • RFC Connection From SAP to Iseries server

    Hi,
I wish you can help me wtih this issue.
We are running ECC 6.0 on iseries v5r3m0.
We are trying to connect to an other non-SAP V5r1M0 system. We are using OSS note 146624 for this purpose.
Our first problem is that we cannot copy pgm files to a V5R1 system from V5R3 system. This can be solved with manual extraction kernel.
However our problem is that we are getting an "SQL Error 0" short dump when we start abap report. What ever the entry in DBCON table is we get this short dump.
Did anyone configured RFC connection to a non-SAP Iseries system? What methos should we use?
    Best Regards

    Hello Volker,
it is some time ago, you posted the original message here. I have a follow on question and I hope you can help.
Apart from the redbook I can't find any documentation about rfc with iseries and that gives some examples but no real explanation about what you are supost to do
I followed the rfc example "ILE RPG evoked from ABAP" and I can get it to work, as long as I ask for only one parameter from the ABAP.
Do you know how to get multiple parameters from ABAP? Just repeating the RfcGetData with different parameters doesn't work. The ABAP will cancel with "no data to receive" on the second parameter.
Also do you know how to create a rfc-trace for these requests?
    Best Regards.

  • Error in the RFC Connection

    Hi Expert,
First, I'm sorry if I post in the wrong thread.
I have a problem when creating RFC Connection. I want to create RFC Connection between BW systems to R/3 System in SM59.
I already insert the right IP Address to the target system, but when I test the connection, I got this error :
    host name 'SAP-BO-01' unknown / CPI-C error CM_PRODUCT_SPECIFIC_ERROR
I already test the connection from BW to R/3 and vice versa, using ping in command prompt, and I got no problem. Also, I already create a log on to the target system, and it was successful, but the RFC Connection still error.
Did you have any clue or solution about this?
I really appreciate every helpful comment from you. Thank You...

    Hi
Do you have mapping in the host file in the server? ask you basis team to check that.
If you can ping the server, that means connection is fine, only thing is there might be some entry missing in hosts or services file in the server.
During creation of RFC connection you can directly use the IP address also. as you said you are able to ping the server that means you got to know the IP address. Now use the below command to know the exact hostname.
    ping -a <IP_ADDRESS>

    Hi Bruno,
We were able to resolve the issue. SAP RDS is assisting us with our upgrade and one of their consultants gave us this fix/workaround.
Edit and add an entry into P:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\data\reginfo.dat on your BW host server.
Below is the entry I added.
    P TP=<NAME OF PROGRAM ID> HOST=<remote hostname where you creating the RFC to> CANCEL=<remote hostname> ACCESS=*
    P TP=CTSAPNPSCI_PORTAL_FPS HOST=ctsapnpsci CANCEL=ctsapnpsci ACCESS=*
Then in BW system goto smgw > goto > Expert Funtions > External Security > ReRead ACL (N) & Globally
I hope that this works for you.

  • Error when opening an RFC connection in IDT

    Hi Experts,
I m trying to create a relational connection (JCO) from IDT to BW 7.4, and I m getting the following error:
Error when opening an RFC connection (CPIC-CALL: ' ThSAPOCMINIT', communication
I searched this error in Internet and I found many discussions about it ...And I think it's about autorizations in BW system that by default dosen't allow external servers to connect to it.
So, I changed the values for the following parameters in RZ11 t-code:
    gw/acl_mode = 0
    gw/reg_no_conn_info = 0
But I still get the same error ...When I checked the SM59 t-code I found that IDT create an entry in TCP/Ip connections ...
Can you guide me to solve this issue...
BW server is 7.4 version on AIX OS
BO server is 4.1 SP05 on windows system
Thank's a lot for your help.
    Abdess,

    Hi,
test the RFC connection in sm59.If it is sussecfull then try to create conneciton otherwise see the error message.

  • RFC connection problem

    Hello All,
We are setting up communication between R/3 4.7 and SCM 5.0 system for EWM (Extended warehouse management) with RFC connection and using IDocs to transfer data from one box to another box.
IDoc from R/3 to SCM system is working fine, we are able to complete the transactions in SCM system and after successful completion all transaction in SCM it should trigger Idoc for R/3 which is not happening.
It throws error as <b>"An RFC destination could not be specified for the logical system XXXCLNT123"</b>
We have checked SM59 (RFC connection), WE20 (Partner profile), WE21 ( IDoc port connection) it seems fine.
Interesting thing is we are able to get information about stock from R/3 system in SCM system which are correct information.
Can anyone give some idea if we are missing something to check?
    Thanks & regards
    Arif Mansuri

    Hi Team,
We have the same problem , which was mentioned above. Please let us know, which Message type need to be used for sending the stock information to ERP after Delivery completion
    The following Process we followed
    PO Creation---ERP
    Inbound delivery-ERP
    Inbound Delivery Process-EWM
    WareHouse Task-EWM
    Unloading-EWM
    WareHouse Task/WareHouse Order Confirmation-EWM
Once the WT/WO is confirmed , Goods receipt status is updated automatically and "Post Processing Framwork (PPF) status shows with RED and error message says."An RFC destination could not be specified for the logical system E6SCLNT900"
Here I have one doubt, We have maintained client names as A0000039 (for EWM,but original client name is SC7CLNT100 ) and E6SCLNT900 ( for ERP , original client name also E6SCLNT900)
Will there be any issue with A0000039?(because we did not maintained as per the original client name ie SC7CLNT100)
    Thank you for your help

  • DB connect no data found is rfc connection required

    Hi Gurus,
I want to retrieve data from oracle database, i have all the table with data in it, but through the source system i.e db connect it does not display any contents of the table, it says no data found, the installation was all done perfecttly fine, i can read the table fields but i am not able to read the data from the table. what could be the problem.
Is an RFC connection required for this db connect to retrieve the data from oracle. or else what is the issue. Can anyone please help me out on this, I already posted long back on this still no reply on it. From the osss notes it allgives information about the intallation but it there is no data found then it does not give any information onthis. Can anyone please help me out on this.
    Thanks,
    Hem

    Hi Hem,
You want to retrieve data from Oracle Database using BW and you are having a problem?
Try isolation technique to solve your problem.
Try to use third party softwares e.g. MS Excel. Retrieve data from Oracle using MSExcel. If MSExcel can retrieve data then you can conclude:
a.) The network connection to Oracle is fine.
b.) Oracle is up and running and is able to serve data from your specified table.
RFC Connection is not required. RFC is only useful for SAP to SAP communication. This connection uses a different technique and uses a different driver to communicate. SAP provided DB Connect Engine. A similar approach as what Microsoft's OLEDB is doing. This to make a transparent connection between various database systems. (whether MSSQL, Oracle, MSACCESS, SYBASE etc.)
As part of isolation technique, are you sure you are accessing the correct table? Try to access other tables. If you can access data of different tables then something is wrong with the table you want to access.
Have you check authorization issues? Are you allowed to extract data?
Hope I have helped. If I did, please grant points...

  • Solution Manager 4.0 - RFC Connections

    hi there,
While ago I configured all my RFC connections within Solution Manager 4.0, and wanted to make sure what are those for:
    1. RFC BACK connection (SM_<SID>CLNT<Client no.>_BACK) is used for the SDCCN to collect the session data. But I realized it is also used for Service Desk when users attempt to create support messages from the satellite system. Is this OK?
    2. The other RFC connections (SM_<SID>CLNT<Client no.>_LOGIN, SM_<SID>CLNT<Client no.>_READ, SM_<SID>CLNT<Client no.>_TMW, SM_<SID>CLNT<Client no.>_TRUSTED) I am not sure whether they are used and where.
Can somebody please give me a light in this matter? because I think this is bringing me issues in other solution manager features :-S
    Thanks a lot.
    regards
    Katia.

    Hi there again,
Thanks very much. It is more clera; just one last question. Then what RFC destination should I use in my satellite system, the one: SM_<SID>CLNT<Client no.>_BACK or SM_<SID>CLNT<Client no.>_TRUSTED ?
And using one of those, with no log on screen option, would make me add the corresponding user profile (for example for create support messages) to the user inserted in such a RFC connection in the "logon data" tab right?
I am using now SM_<SID>CLNT<Client no.>_BACK withtout log on screen option, and the user which is inserted in this RFC connection has the appropiate profiles, but message are created incomplete (I got this error message: "error in local system, message 0000165 incomplete"). I can see those messages from DNOTIF transaction but not from transaction monitor...
How you do this? Because it used to work using same RFC connection (SM_<SID>CLNT<Client no.>_BACK) but with log on screen, so the user was prompted for logging and messages were created succesfully; but then since this rfc connection is also used by SDCCN the data was not being collected, since the log on was required :-S
That is what I changed to no log on screen, and got confused about these RFC connections thing...
Do you have an idea about this?
And thank you very much in advance again.
    regards,
    Katia.

  • RFC connection - SAP CRM to SAP R/3

    Hello all,
We have a requirement in the project, where client is already using SAP R/3 ERP system, and is going for CRM for e-commerce. Now as they have most of the development already done in R/3, they want to use some Function Module or say Report Program already developed in R/3 to be used in CRM system.
Please tell, if this thing is possible via RFC connection, and if yes, then how can we go about doing it? It is a critical requirement.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rohit Khetarpal

In transaction sm59 define an rfc destination in CRM that connects back to R/3.
You most likely already have one for bdocs etc. You can use this one or create one specific to your task.
Create an RFC user in R/3 that will have sufficent authorization to run your remote enabled function modules in R/3. Assign the user to your new CRM rfc destination in sm59 if you've created a new rfc destination.
Make sure the remote enabled check box in your R/3 function modlule attributes are ticked.
In your CRM program call the R/3 function module with the name of the rfc destination you created, as below.
    call function ' my_r3_function_module_name' destination 'the_rfc_destination_name'.
You will need to add in the fm interface manually, i.e. importing, exporting, etc.

Now where sould I go to configure CCMS monitoring ?
    Thanks in Advanced
    Travis

    Hi user issue2008 issue
actually i can't connect to solman, but i think it was under 3.
When you select a component, i.e. Dev R/3 or so you should have several clients.
There you can define RFCs and also there you can define Solution Monitoring.
But I think there should be already RFC-Destinations, when you had configured the EWA.
Then you should check the client with the RFC-Destination and Checking Destination.
In Edit-mode you can check the box for Solution Monitoring and save and ok.
After that it should be activated.
    Hope it helps you.

  • RFC connection BI and ECC 6.0

    Hi
I am trying to connect BI and ECC 6.0 at home on two different virtual machines for data extraction and practicing delta management ( they are on the same virtual network).
I am following these steps :
Step-by-step procedure to connect BI with ECCu2026
Define the logical system in R/3 using the transaction code SALE in both the systems (ECC and BI)
Assign Logical System to a client using transaction code SCC4 in both the systems (ECC and BI)
Setup the RFC Destination using transaction code SM59 in both the systems (ECC and BI)
Hit Transaction BD64 and Click Create model view -  Enter the Short text u2013 Enter the Technical name  u2013 Hit Execute -  Distribution Model will be created and the technical name of the distribution model will be listed
Place the cursor on model created and and click Add message type button on the top right corner
Enter sender and receiver system IDs  and select the correct message type assigned to the correct system
Distribute this model using Edit u2013 Model View u2013 Distribute
Select the receiver of the model view and proceed to distribute the model
Please note that the distribution of data model is not required to repeat in BI system as this step automatically replicates settings in BI
You have to generate partner profile for each system with which your system communicate using BD82
Outbound records are created in the partner profile for each outgoing message and inbound records are created for each incoming messages
You can view the partner profiles generated using the transaction code WE20
    Message Types:
RSRQST: This message type is send by BI to R/3 while loading any data. This gives information about the data source, selection condition and other BI settings to R/3.  As and when a load is started in BI, RSRQST message type is sent to R/3 requesting for data.
RSINFO: Once R/3 receives RSRQST message from BI, it sends an acknowledgment message type to BI informing about the status of the request. That is whether the request can be handled or not by R/3. It also gives information about how many data packages are being send and what is the total number of records extracted for the given data source and selection.
RSSEND: After sending a positive acknowledgement to BI, R/3 starts the extraction job and starts collecting data in data IDocs. This message type carries the actual data with it into the BI system.
My question is that : Do i know need to create three model views for these three message types?? Are these steps sufficient?
Please let me know if some other things needs to be followed or U know more simpler way to RFC connect so that I can pull data from ECC into BI and practice delta management.
    Thanks

  • Configuring RFC connections for load balancing.

    Hi ,
We have the following landscape for our systems.
The database is installed on z/os , db2 (mainframe). The central services( SCS and ASCS) are also on the mainframe. So the message server is on mainframe.
The CI is on AIX and The DI is on AIX.
We have Logon groups configured and load balancing Configured and is RFC enabled.
    1) When we connect to SAP using the SAPGUI and  the portal connection is made to either CI or DI depending upon the best response times.  Now recently we are running the mercury load testing, all the users are connecting to DI. Why are the users connecting to DI even though we have load balancing?
    2) I have a system with SID BP0, with one CI and one DI. The logon group is BP0 and the message server name is cyrix. Now I have other another system EP0. I have created a RFC connection from EP0 to BP0. In SM59 I have selected the load balancing option, and provide the message server name, SID and logon group name. The connection does not work. If I connect directly to the CI or DI the connection works. Please tell me how can I configure load balancing for RFC connections.
    Thanks
    Manmath.

    Dear 917996,
There are two types of load balancing:
    - Client-side load balancing (setting up the tnsnames.ora on client side). More information here (http://ggsig.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/client-side-
load-balancing-in-oracle.html). Very good video produced my friend Igor Melnikov is here (http://www.dsvolk.ru/oracle/racdd4d/demos/video/loadbalance/client/clientloadbalance_viewlet_swf.html)
-Server-side load balancing (remote_listener and setting service parameter clb_goal). Very good Igor Melnikov's video is here (http://www.dsvolk.ru/oracle/racdd4d/demos/video/loadbalance/server/serverloadbalance_viewlet_swf.html).
I have read about client side and server side load balancing. By editing tnsnames.ora I have enabled client side load balancing which is suppose to select listeners at random. then why does it only go to second node?Could you please show your tnsnames.ora on client?
Please can anyone help me to configure server side load balancing with SCAN. I have read many many post but couldn't find a clear answer.Based on your output (remote_listener string cmbtrnrac-scan:1521) you have already configured the server side load balancing.
    SQL> show parameter listener
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    listener_networks string
    local_listener string (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(AD
    DRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=10.1
    7.67.214)(PORT=1521))))
remote_listener string cmbtrnrac-scan:1521How many SCANs do you use? Do you use DNS?
