About running 10g in a browser

hi their ,
i am asking about a way to run my 10g application rather than in a browser ?
i wanna run it as developer 2000 application , away from a browser
is there a way for doing this ?

That said, I would strongly discourage you from using such an old product version to do new development. The old product versions were not designed to run on today's newer operating systems or on newer hardware. The likelihood of having problems using old software is probable. If you are using Oracle software originally obtained from the Oracle Technology Network (OTN) and do not have a valid license, well I won't discuss that any further as you should already understand what that means. Refer to the "Terms of Use" on the Oracle website for more information.

Running 10g forms in browser without any windows

Hi,
Is it possible to run the forms in the browser directly without any windows? I want the items in the canvas to be displayed on the browser (IE) without using windows. We are using Forms 10g release 2.
Our application is a MDI application.
Note: I've searched the related threads. There were some suggestions for setting the value of useSDI. The threads were quite old. So, I thought anything new might have come up...

Look for a File Formsweb.cfg in you forms directory. Look for entry "SeprateFrame" in this file and set it's value to false. This will open your forms in the IE, not in a window. Update, if this helps you......

I did it before but I've forgot it!

http://<server_host_name>/forms/frmservlet?form=form_name.fmx
if the form_name.fmx is at the dir the Forms looks for the generated files by default...
Otherwise you can write:
http://<server_host_name>/forms/frmservlet?form=c:\form_name.fmx
Or create a named configuration in the file formsweb.cfg...

Unable to run a servlet in browser

hello everyone,
i am working on url rewriting technique of Session management ....
i am using deploytool provided by sun java system application server platform edition 8.2 ....after deploying my class files succesfully
when i try to run the servlet in browser...
eg....
http://localhost:8080/contextroot/servlet/myServletname
i get the following error
HTTP Status 404 - /rewrite_cntx/servlet/RewriteServletURL
type Status report
message /rewrite_cntx/servlet/RewriteServletURL
description The requested resource (/rewrite_cntx/servlet/RewriteServletURL) is not available.

guys,i've checked it about a hundred times..i prperly attach the class files as required....still i'm unable to find out why this is happening..

I never used the deploytool, but it would be laughable if the tool doesn't allow you to map servlets to URLs. A quick look [at the J2EE 1.4 tutorial|http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/tutorial/doc/] suggests you can do it by first adding new components to the application (one for each servlet) then using aliases to map the servlet to a URL. I suggest reading the tutorial and following step by step. It will probably make more sense that way.
If that doesn't work, stop using the deploytool and start packing your WAR file manually. You should:
1) Know what directory structure a web application requires.
2) Know how to generate a WAR file (note: a WAR is a JAR with a WEB-INF directory and a different extension)
3) Know how to generate a web.xml document.
If you don't know how to do that stuff, it is time to stop relying on the deploytool anyway and learn how to it works. A tool such as the deploytool (and IDEs) should be a convenience, it should not be a replacement for knowing the basics.

Report Error when running 10G Report

i am running 10G oracle forms and reports and i am calling reports through 10G forms using web.show_document(url,_blank);
but the follwing error is printed on the new opened web page
REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server mtmreports failed
what is its reason ?

Different environments mean just that. So something could be causing it outside java.
Additionally if anything at all is different in the execution data, such as even a name having a different size, then it would change the execution path.

Yes.
Basic AirPlay: Assuming both devices are on the same network and that AirPlay is not turned off on the Apple TV, then simply tap on the screen when you are watching content you wish to stream to your Apple TV, then tap the airplay icon that appears in the control bar, choose the Apple TV from the menu that appears.
Mirroring: When displaying the content you wish to mirror on the iPad 2 (or better), iPad Mini, iPhone 4S (or better), swipe from the bottom of the screen, tap the AirPlay icon and choose your Apple TV from the list of devices (iOS 7 or better) or double tap the home button (quickly) and swipe the bottom row of apps to the right to reveal the playback controls, tap the AirPlay icon and select your Apple TV from the list of available devices (pre-iOS7)

Running 9i Form on browser

Hi friends,
I have oracle 9i release 1 and oracle DS release 2 on win 2k svr on the same machine.
i have made a test form run it through form builder and it is working fine.
Now, when i am trying to run it independently thru browser like :

I am getting following error :
FRM-92120 : Registry file http://127.0.0.1:8888/forms90/java/oracle/forms/registry/Registry.dat is missing.
while i checked the registry.dat file and it is there.
Is Application Server compulsory to run form on web?

The path to configuration file is as follows;
oracle_home\ora92\forms90\server\FormsWeb.cfg
It's NOT Forms90Web.cfg. My mistake in the previous post.
Anyway find the FormsWeb.cfg file using the above path on your system, and set the working directory to something like C:\My_Forms. This is the directory where u store all your (.fmx & .fmb) files.
You can even set database userID/password@instance_name in the "userID" parameter in FormsWeb.cfg file.
And also set the first form of your application in the "Run Form" argument. This is usually the Login form. If u don't have Login functionality into your application, then set this parameter to point to the name of your main Form.
If u are successfully done with the above-mentioned steps, u won't have to type the full physical path to your executables.
Your application will be invoked by simply typing the following URL;
Http://Your_Computer_Name:8888/forms90/f90servlet

Help! problem running .bat files in browser

HI! Hope you can help me!
I have a simple applet that runs .bat files and retrieves the resulting information into a text box.
To run those files I use:
Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
Process processo=rt.exec("C:/po2PrtMonitor.bat 04600105 ope >C:/infoPrt.txt");
in wich "04600105","ope" and ">C:/infoPrt.txt" are parameters that the .bat file is expecting. When the file is ran it saves the resulting information on a simple .txt file, that I later read by using:
fichResposta = new FileInputStream(fichRespostaPath[0]);
When I run my applet on JDeveolper 9.0.2.822 is works perfectly, the problem is when run it on the browser.
On the browser the applet executes the file by opening a MS-DOS prompt and when it finishes executing the file, the prompt closes automatically and doesn't send the information into the .txt file.
My .bat file is something like:
jre -cp PrtSrv20.jar sibs.deswin.prt.PrtMonGateway 10.46.1.22 5003 %1 %2 %3
where %1,2%,3% are the above parameters given by the applet when the file is ran.
If I run it on JDeveloper I get:
C:\>jre -cp PrtSrv20.jar sibs.deswin.prt.PrtMonGateway 10.46.1.22 5003 04600105 ope
PRTSES=04600105 HDR=0460010000000005 STA=OPENED TRF=ACTIVE TRP=CONN ILTS=15 Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

Here is what is missing:
ILT=0 MSQ=388 HDR=04.60.01.00.00.00.00.05.41.00.01.84. CMD=STRT-TRF
When the applet is run on the IE broser what I get is simply:
jre -cp PrtSrv20.jar sibs.deswin.prt.PrtMonGateway 10.46.1.22 5003 04601005 ope
I have no idea as to what the problem might be! Do native methods work differently on the browser?! Could it be a problem on the deployment? A library not included on the deployment profile? Suggestions are very welcome.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Can 10g OAS run 10g Report server and 6i reports together?

We have need to run 6i and 10g reports from the same physical server running OAS 10g.
Are there issues / conflicts?
There are hundreds of 6i reports called from many applications. Converting completely is a separate project on the books.
The need is to utilize 10g graphs on this urgent project. The graphing in 6i has not gotten along here with RAC and other distributed architecture. Additionally, I believe the 6i graph runtime would have to be installed on each client workstation... again, hundreds.

I am unable to run applets on a browser which run well on an appletviewer.
I kept the class file in the same directory as the web page,but it's only showing the applet window, and not showing it's contents.

Will Oracle UK Support their Exadata running 10g instead of 11g ?

I have ORDM installed on an Exadata at present using 11g.
ORDM is certified for 11g but is as I understand it, it is really a 10g design.
The Exadata is an "11g box" however it would be mighty convenient to be able to run 10g on it instead with ORDM and another system schema in the database instance.
Does anyone know if oracle will support this ? (as I believe they won't support a 10g and 11g installation on the one Exadata.)
