ABout SolMan alert - BackgroundService SystemWideFreeBPWP

Hi,
The alert -'BackgroundService SystemWideFreeBPWP' keeps coming in my system, although at any point of time, the number of background work process are ample in number.
The alert threshold is set for 3 WPs, while the number of available WPs on the system are 30+30.
The 'comparison value' (in RZ20) is marked as 'Last reported value'.
Can somebody suggest what can be the reason for this alert?
Thanks,
PJ

Hello Jain,
Some background could have used all your background processes for fraction of seconds at that point of time. Please review ST22, SM21 for any clue. Please check what all the jobs were run when you received the alert.
Thanks,
Siva Kumar

    Hi experts,
    Would you pls advise where I can find document about configure to let users access Solman via portal?
    How can I know which role or iviews available for solman package.
    Thank you very much

    Hi Erika,
    as far as I know and have searched - there is no packages documentation about integrating SolMan in EP. AS there is no business package you will have to buildup the integration by yourself.
    Check SAP notes for some information about available BSPs which can be integrated in the portal.

  • Basic questions about SOLMAN

    SOLMAN gurues:
            Im an HCM consultant, and I dont know why ended up being responsible for creating a CHARM demo in our system. I have some initial doubts that I hope you can help me with:
           I need to customize a demo for a maintenance cycle (neither an upgrade nor a project):
    1) I dont get the idea of the "project cycle", lets suppose I create a project for maintenance of our live system, we have several modules which have little implementations every day. Lets suppose that the FI module is in testing phase and HR in customizing phase, which would be the real phase of the project cycle? Do I have to create a project everytime a change request is requested in the system? Im quite confussed about this!
    2) Is there any easy to follow step by step to make a simple customizing of CHARM for maintenancing?
    3) Which roadmap is recommended for maintenancing??
    Thank you very much!!
    Federico.

    Hi
    I think you are confused because you are talkng about 2 diff functionalities
    1. moving and managining changes
    CHARMS or Change Request Management fucntionality
    2. Storing documentation
    Project Management
    Both are diff things and diff way is req to customization for it
    I recommend you to go for SAP training for solution manager
    as there are plenty of functionalities and all need lot of customization as you do in HCM area for using HCM functionalities via spro etc.
    Last but not the least it is not a simple tool like LSMW etc but it is a Technology which provides end to end solution management with help of several inbuilt feature and functionality and is pretty huge.
    hope it clarifies basic doubt.

    Hi Villy,
    Although i have not faced this issue but one workaround fix that can help you to address your problem would be....
    Please add below 'actions' to 'everyone' role using NWA->Identity Management
    UME keystore-view.TicketKeystore entry-actions.all.all
    UME keystore-view.TicketKeystore property-actions.all.all
    UME keystore-view.TicketKeystore view-actions.all.all
    Then, Initiate RWB using URL - http://<j2ee-host>:<http-port>/rwb/rtc?op=init
    I hope this fixes your issue.

  • Sorting alerts in SOLMAN Alert Inbox by time of the alert

    Hi Gurus,
    I have not found any method in Solman for sorting alerts in Alert Inbox on basis of their time. Please help me out by your suggestion
    Thanks,
    Pankaj

    Hello Pankaj,
    In Workcenters sorting Alerts is done a bit differently than in DSWP > Solution Monitoring > System Monitoring.
    When you are in System Monitoring Work Center > Alert Inbox - Then on the top right hand corner is the Settings link.
    >Click settings and select the sort tab.
    >Here you can select the columns to sort the Alerts on.
    >You can choose Server, Instance, Full Name, Current Status and System. Additionally you can specify the sort direction ( >Ascending/Descending ).
    >You can specify more than one field.
    >Once done click apply, to apply the sort, and/or clcik save to save the sort criteria.
    Actually this is a much more powerful sort feature here in Workcenter than in DSWP > Solution Monitoring > System Monitoring where you clicked the header of the column and pushed either the sort ascending or sort descending bush buttons.
    I do hope this help solve your problem in solman_workcenter.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • SolMan alert prioritizing

    Hi All,
    We have implemented Technical monitoring in our Solution Manager(7.1 SP8) system. We are reciving the mails for the yellow and red alerts.
    Is there any way to differentiate the red and yellow alerts for mail alerts(like sending alerts with "high importance" or to different distribution list). As we need to prioritize the alerts, like Red alerts needs to be solved first.
    Regards,
    Sukanya

    Hi Sukanya,
    There is no ready made solution available for your scenario, however we may have a workaround. I suggest you customize the email subjects using the procedure mentioned in this blog Customize Email Subject in Solman 7.1 using BADI and then put rules in your mailbox for sorting the emails according to priority in subject line.
    Let me know If this works for you.
    Regards,
    Vivek

  • What should I do about the alert "Could not initialize the application's security component...." Firefox no responding.

    When I open up firefox I get the alert:
    Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features.
    When I click OK I get my home page (google), but nothing works: no web sites will open. I have downloaded the new version of firefox and carried out a defraggle without success.

    This solution worked for me:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Could+not+initialize+the+browser+security+component
    The step that worked for me was to locate and delete the cert8.db file.

  • Question about using Alert

    First off, I'm a .NET developer trying to learn Java. Please excuse a stupid question if this should be obvious.
    I'm writing a J2ME app where several different destructive operations can occur. I need to ask "are you sure?" for several different situations.
    In .NET, I would write it like this:
    if ( someFlag )
         if ( !Message.ShowDialog( "Some message" ) == DialogResult.NO )
              return;
         DoDestructiveOperationA();
    }The ShowDialog function doesn't return until the user has selected an option. I believe this kind of thing isn't possible in J2ME.
    In my Java app, the only way I can think of to solve this is to store off a flag that tells what destructive operation to perform, show the alert form, then add code to the main form to watch for some value from the alert, then look at which pending operation to perform, then do it. This would look something like this:
    if ( someFlag )
         storePendingOperation = OperationA;
         Alert     myAlert = Alert();
         display.SetCurrent( myAlert );
    MainForm::OnCommand()
         switch( command )
         case AlertAReturnVal:
              if ( pendingOperation == OperationA )
                   doDestructiveOperationA();
              else if ( pendingOperation == OperationB )
                   doDestructiveOperationB();
    }The complicating factor is that there are several different types of destructive operations and I would have to add all sorts of code bloat to accomodate them all. Is there a cleaner, simpler solution to this problem?
    Thanks.
    Rich

    Friend you can add commands to an alert,
    put couple of commands ....
    set a commandListener for alert
    and on commandAction do your operation(s)..:)

  • Quick Question about Solman

    Hi Gurus,
    I am New to Solman but trying my best
    I have solman configured and service desk with the basic configuration..But here the situation is when i am trying to create the message from the satellite system i can only able to create and send the message if my user exists in solman.
    Do we need to Define all the users in solman again..
    or is there any other process for this..please advice.

    Guru,
      The Solution Manager uses the Trusted RFC (or otherwise) defined in the table BCOS_CUST - it is this connection that defines how the users are authenticated to the Solution Manager.  You can create a custom RFC using a static userid rather than the current user but all messages created in the system would be generated with the Static ID of the Trusted RFC you use.
      So the answer is yes you can - but there are consequences of these actions.
      There are advantages to this down the road that make life easier such that under certain circumstances, you might not want everyone out ther to be able to put in messages.  It may sound a bit odd but under the circumstances of a system-wide issue, you could get hundreds of repetative tickets that will clog the system and cause your service desk to have to do a few hours of clean-up.
      So there is hope on doing this if you have large volumes or regular changes to employee base that require updates, it would be worth your time to do a simple BDC Program that puts in the UserID and BP with respective CRM Keys for remote systems.
      Hope that answers your question - if so please set this thread to answered.

  • How about customer Alert Style and Repeats based on contacts?

    In Contacts I can chose the "ringtone" and "text tone" to override the default.
    I receive a text message from my company's pager system and save that address as a contact.
    And then set a custom "text tone" for that contact.
    So now normal test messages arrive with the default tone and pages can sound the "Alarm"
    It would be nice if I Contacts also let me chose the Alert Style and Repeats.
    (it would also be nice if Repeats worked at all)

  • About testing Alert window

    Hi, all
        I'm doing some test that involves alert popup windows.  During the test the button's click event is dispatched and an alert window is poped up to confirm the operation. The program will not proceed unless the "OK" button of the alert window is clicked. However I can't find the reference to the alert window and the button on it. Can someone give me some hint, please. Thanks alot~
                spt.

    Ideally the code should expose the Alert instance that was created so
    the test could access it. If that isn't possible Alert instances are
    managed by the PopUpManager, which if you muck with the instance's
    mx_internal popupInfo you could get a reference to the Alert.

  • Dialog response time exceeds threshold (SOLMAN Alert)

    Dear All,
    I found an alert in Solution Manager,
    2.023 msec > 2.000 msec Dialog response time exceeds threshold (56 dialog steps)
    What does this alert means?
    Are SAP system still in a good performance?
    And what kind of action i have to do to clear this alert..?
    thanks and regards
    Rio(nubie)

    Hi
    What does this alert means?
    see answer Mapp Tyrone above
    Are SAP system still in a good performance?
    SAP performance is not determined only by response time. you have to look globally: your free memory, your ABAP dumps, your swap, your database statistics etc.
    And what kind of action i have to do to clear this alert..?
    No need to clear it. All you have to do is tune your SAP system to increase your current performance, and one indicator of that is the better response time.
    hope it help you.

    Alfonsus Guritno.
