About system format

Hi experts,
I want to change system date format .
Actually i used it in one script as 'SYST-DATUM',and i am getting date automatically.
Now i want to change that format.
Anybody pls suggest me.
Thanks,
Kaladhar.

Hi,
In SAP Easy access screen follow this path
system -> Use Profile -> Own Data
This will open up Maintain user details screen, there go to the second tab DEFAULTS. Here you can set the date format.
Once you change the date format logoff from the SAP system for the changed date format to take effect.

  • About to format hard drive. How do I preserve I-Tunes?

    Hi,
*About to format hard drive. How do I preserve I-Tunes*
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I need reassurance that I will not make an expensive mistake.
I have iTunes installed on my PC, but the library and any original music files are stored on a NAS external device.
What do I need to do in iTunes (or anything else) before I reformat my PC drive?
In addition, I am guessing, but I figure that that afterwards I reinstall iTunes and reenter some settings and I can make connection with my Library again? Is that correct?
    Thanks in advance
    flobbyblob

Are you certain that the iTunes folder containing you library databases is on the external drive?
If you have the iTunes folder containing your current iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml in My Music on the C: drive, then you need to back that up.
If you are certain everything is on the external drive then all you need to do with your PC is deauthorise it before reinstalling Windows.
    You asked something else:
Yes after reinstalling Windows and iTunes, you redo the settings you used to connect to your library on the external drive. You will also need to reauthorise your PC.

  • Problem About Date Format in Dashboard

    Hi All:
I still have problem about date format in dashboard and dashboard prompt. When I use cast(dealdate as date) in dashboard prompt(coloumn formula of deal_date) and filter view(In edit view of filter coloumn formula) Then It converts the date format from mm/dd/yyyy to yyyy-mm-dd But I want format in dd-mm-yyyy.
ANd also one problem more that is when I use cast function in filter coloumn formula then how I give alias to it. Because it shows same like that cast(deal_date as date) on dashboard filter view.
Pluzz help me to solve this problem
    Haroon

Changing the ini files should change the date format. Have you amended the correct instances of the date format? In dbFeatures there is one for every ODBC connection.
    For example in my DBFeatures.INI
    [ DATA_SOURCE_FEATURE = ODBC_300 ]
    DATE_FORMAT = 'dd-mm-yyyy' ;
         TIME_FORMAT = 'hh:mi:ss' ;
         DATE_TIME_FORMAT = 'dd-mm-yyyy hh:mi:ss' ;
IDENTIFIER_QUOTE_CHAR = '"';Also a file on the presentation side in OracleBI \web\Config called localedefinitions.xml.
Inside that there appears to be defaults for localisations - maybe it is possible to amend your locale in the Administration settings of the dashboard.
However, I haven't tried this sorry.

  • About date Format

hi all experts,I met a problem about date format.
I created a select-option refer to VBEP-EDATU(char 10), but I hope to set the display format as YYYY/(.)MM or MM/(.)YYYY.just like selecting the Month planning period in T-code :MD61
    How to realize it ?
    thanks in advance.
    regrads.

    Hi Lin,
    Split the string,
    DAta : yr type char4,
              mnt type char2,
              day type char2.
    yr = vbep-edatu+0(4).
    mnt = vbep-edatu+4(2).
Concatenate yr mnt day into t_date separated by '/' .

    SoCal thanks for the attention,
sorry for having wrote the question directly in the subject, but first i wrote it by text edit then copied it, but in the wrong place too.....
coming to my question, timeline settings are:
as it is a commercial promo that must be projected in a multiplex cinema, the 2K format is needed.
I've heard about transcoding services, and they are very expensive.
so i'm looking if there is a way to do everything by fcp.
the project will be delivered as SD DVD for archive pourposes and as a single file for the projection or eventually transconding.

  • File System (formatting, partitioning)

I have a question about the HFS+ (HFS Plus) file system...
I recently purchased a 17 inch Macbook Pro along with a LaCie d2 Extreme External Hard Drive. I am dual-booting on my Macbook Pro using Bootcamp and want to be able to use the external hard drive in both work environments and also be able to access files from each OS. What would be the best and most reliable way to go about doing this.
I was going to format the entire drive as FAT32 since both operating systems can write and read to this file system... but I wanted other opinions on this. Should I partition the drive and have an NTFS partition for Windows XP, a FAT32 partition for both OSes and an HFS+ partition for Mac OSX??
    All help is greatly appreciated.

"So, if I understand correctly, Mac Drive would allow me to read and write to an HFS+ volume from both Windows XP and Mac OSX."
Yes and no. MacDrive is a file system driver for Windows. Mac OS X supports HFS+ natively.
"Therefore, I would not have to partition the drive at all and I could have the whole drive formatted as HFS+??"
Nope. Windows XP needs a FAT32 or NTFS drive to boot from, MacDrive will be loaded during the boot process.
"How does Mac Drive work... do I install it on XP?"
Yep. After you installed it, you can see any HFS+ partition in the Windows Explorer as a separate drive.
"Also, does it slow down the drive at all or require emulation or anything like that?"
    No.

  • Maintaining previous filing system format within Aperture 3

I am a new Mac user after 20 years with PC's. I bought a 2.3ghz MacBook Pro 15" with 8gb of ram and a 512 solid state drive to try to better manage a photo collection of about 100gb, including a huge set of ancestors photos from 1800 and on. I have been using a simple filing system by creating separate folders for various trips by date and place, such as 2011-03-15 USA, AZ, Phoenix. Each folder may contain photos from several dates over several weeks. I do not want to break out the photos into separate folders by each day. I want to be able to permanently modify, tag, and delete photos from the master file. I also want to be able to export the modified photos using this "date" structure.
What is the safest and most efficient way to do this while being able to take advantage of all that AP3 has to offer?

What TD, Allen, and Matthew said.
There are (at least) two import dialog boxes in Aperture:
. "File→Import" (also on the Toolbar), and
    . +"File→Import Folders as Projects".+
You want the latter. It will allow you to retain you current filing system (and take advantage of it).
    1. "Folders and Projects" will make an Aperture Folder for every Finder folder in your tree, except the terminal folders (which should be the ones w. images in them) from which it will create Projects. (If you are not familiar with Aperture's parts, [this comment|http://discussions.apple.com/messageview.jspa?messageID=13124533&stqc=t rue] will help, as will consulting the first seven chapters of the [User Manual|http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual>).
    2. "In their current location" will leave your files where there are. Aperture will create a reference (a pointer) to each file. Your images in Aperture will all have Referenced Masters.
    3. "Master File Name" will assign the current file name to the images imported into your Library. You might want to take advantage of Aperture's naming prowess and start with a file naming convention (search this forum) -- but this is secondary to your current goal. If you are satisfied with the current file names, use them for your Aperture images. If you have thought about renaming them, this might be a good time to do so.
    4. My mistake (but this is whacked in Aperture). If you set this to either one of the settings that start with "Both ... ", Aperture should import all image files, regardless of format.
    By all means:
    - Back up all your current images
    - Practice on small subsets of images. Import a few folders, a few hundred images, and see what happens. Tweak your settings as needed. Delete the entire Library, and try again (since you are leaving your files where they are, deleting the Library deletes only the references (the pointers inside the Library) to those files -- it does not delete the files themselves).
    - Practice until you are sure you have it right, then do a trial run on all of your files. +You can always delete this Library as well.+
And ask more questions. Good Luck.

  • H.D file system format

I have a 2000 model imac which originally came with Mac OS 9.6. I've purchased all new CDs for software and the new OS X. I think it's the original OS X cause there is no version on it that i saw. Anyway i had a hard drive in my windows based computer formated in the NTFS file system and i want to put it into my IMAC and put the new OS on it. Even after deleting the partion i still couldn't get it to recognice the new the drive. The drive is 200Gb. I pulled out an old 40Gb h.d i had and partitioned it into two 20 Gb h.d. with the FAT32 format and the 'select destination volume' option still wouldn't give me the hard drive as an option.
    Things i've done:
deleted all partitions went with an 'unpartitioned' drive
    created a 'raw' partition
    created a NTFS partition
    created a FAT32 partition
The OS goes through the installation fine until it's time to select a location of installation and only shows up the cdrom drive which of course i can't select.
Is there anyway of getting my mac to recognize the hard drive?
    Chris

Thank you all for all the help it has done wonders in getting my imac back up and running. However i've still got one problem. The 200Gb h.d. i put into the imac only shows up as about 127Gbs. I was told that my system will only recognize only up to 128gbs. Is there anything i can do to change this. What if i used Macdrive and made two partitions on the drive will that allow my imac to recognize the extra storage. That's a lot of space going to waiste.
Another thing is the firmware update?! This is a fresh install from mac OS X 10.1.2. I've already downloaded all the updates that the installed updater program has given me. Everything works smoothly including my optical drive do i still need to locate it and install it?

  • Question about the format of an external drive.....

    Ok quick question...
my external is formatted mac OS extended journaled. I need to create a new partition in FAT so that it can be read when I use bootcamp. However when I use disk utility to create a partition it says it would have to format the whole harddrive and I'd lose what is currently on there..
Is there anyway that I can do this without losing what I currently have on there?
I only need to have about 50 gigs read/writeable in windows running on bootcamp.

You might want to try out MacDrive, which will allow Mac OS formatted drives to be read from and written to in Windows. That could save you having to repartition your external drive completely. There's a five-day free trial available so you could try it out first.

  • About vertical format (iBooks Author)

Hello people! This is my first entry, but not the first time I check for your support. This is because I can't figure something out, so you might help me a little.
This is my problem: some creative son of his/her mother decided to propose vertical covers for the electronic books, my guees is because of the display on the virtual shelf. You following me? VERTICAL
BUT, this creative son of his/her mother, decided to propose only horizontal designs inside the books. Am I the only crazy person who see this (HORIZONTAL)??
iBooks Author solve this problem with a large .pdf ugly thing. I think is a gorgeous thing to be able to design in both formats (call that a smart book? I think it's BRILLIANT!). But to make coherent designs, means to keep BOTH proposals similars. You following me?
So, let's think a little about proposing a vertical format (let's say you already did the horizontal format, or you just don't want to do it): who decided to make an infinite .pdf from start to end, scrolling it down?? Why can't I do the "figer thing" to change the pages like the horizontal version?
I have loose a great deal of my time trying to design correctly a vertical format book. Why? Because it was published that way, it was conceived that way, and it amaze me how difficult all the apps makes my life because of a single thing: a stupid vertical format. And I don't want to publish a .pdf, don't want it to look as an ugly .pdf, don't want it to look like the exported file wants it because it was not designed that way! And I'm in a corner, thinking about my little possibilities left.
Do I have to design my book with a crooked head and tell the people they must block their iPads in order to read it right, and to "scrool" the pages "upside down" istead of "right to left"? How ridiculous is that?
Forget about the rest of the apps: even if they allow me to design a vertical format, when I publish the illustrated book, all the elements will move, no matter how many times I block them. I have done it right and I have done it wrong (like exporting a full size page, image and text included), and it still bothers me how stupid the apps can behave. They are like incompetent employees: totally freaks me out.
Do I really have to design a new app  for a single illustrated vertical book with no interactions at all? It looks idiotic. But I might be the idiot here, though I don't think so (not this time)
Thank you very much and please forgive my english. Hope I make myself clear enough.

Already done. But on the iPad I only have a large vertical book, can't "change pages with the figer", but scrooling up to reach the bottom.
What do you mean with "satisfy both"? Landscape and portrait? (sorry, I really must check everything because of the language). Why I would disable portrait when I want it to be in that format (and luckily ONLY in that format)?
Poor KT, you look so helpless in your photo. I'm really sorry if I sound that dumb

  • Influence about system performance by RAL, SAL

    Hi, Experts.
My team are going to use RAL(Read Access Log) and SAL(Security Audit Log)
for logging users access to sensitive data.
To meet the compliance, we have to log users' activity information
as 5W1H(WHO, WHAT, HOW, WHEN, WHERE, WHY) principle.
But I want to know that how much will system performance be affected by applying RAL and SAL.
Are there anyone who have the data or experience about that?
I understand it can be different by the level of log detail.
    Best Regards.
    Dongki.

    Hi,
I have been through measurement exercises in the past for SAL and have found no measurable performance influences.  The only factor we could measure was log growth (which is very dependent on what you are logging) and that is arguably storage rather than performance related.
I can't say I have looked at RAL from a performance perspective yet so am also interested in hearing any answers to this.
    Cheers
