About the Dynex 22" Class/720p/60Hz/ LCD HDTV

I am currently looking for a TV for my bedroom. I will be getting a PS3 in August, and I have an Xbox and PS2 (we have been saving up for a PS3 since 2006), and a DVD/VHS player combo, so will I be able to hook them up? And also, can I hook a Verizon FiOs box top up to it?

You'll certainly be able to hook up your current list of sources.
TheTV has only one HDMI input, so I do see a future need for an HDMI splitter if you wish to receive the best picture quality from the PS3 and HD fios source.

Welcome to the forums!
While this is a quality TV, this would not be my first choice as far as gaming goes. I prefer a TV with 1080p resolution when I am playing my Xbox 360. High resolution games like Gears of War do not look as good on a 720p TV- you want detail when you are trying to spot your enemies
The size and all the other specifications are good for gaming, but I would look for a 1080p TV.

Price change on Panasonic - 32" Class / 1080p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV

I tried to order this tv last night at a best buy store & after the clerk found it online for $299.99 he told me to fill out all my info to order it & disappeared. I could not complete it & couldn't find him (or anyone) to help. I left the store to go home & order it online. I looked it up again at home & it was $399.00 now, how can they jump the price up so fast?

I found it online for $299, then I went to the store to buy a xbox & while I was there I wanted to order the tv & it showed the same price as I saw online at the store. I got home 30 minutes later & to order it cause I could not get any help at the store & the price changed. I just don't get it, must have been a mistake & they caught it super fast!

Asking about the procedure of class loading.......

I knew the procedure was like this:
1. Bootstrap classes
2. Replace JDK implementation: <java_home>/jre/lib/endorsed
3. Intstalled extensions: <java_home>/jre/lib/ext
4. class path
I am confused about the function of step 2 and 3
what is the difference of relacing ur original JDK and using Installed extensions???
It is understandable about you want an extension to your JDK, but relacing JDK seems no difference with extension

but does any one know, for example, calling the same
static method from the same name class, according to
the classloading list (in the 1st post), will the JVM
use the class at step 1 or 2??That has nothing to do with class loadiing.
When the class is loaded it is loaded. Either it is all loaded or it isn't. And you can't call a method, any method, without it being loaded.

finds in the classloading procedure will be used,
but, step 2 says "Replace JDK implementation", so I

i compiled my tag handler class and stored the Source and class files in the WEB-INF\classes directory.
i created a descriptor file and saved it in WEB-INF\jsp directory.
i placed my jsp file in the jsp-examples folder.
then i started the server and executed the jsp file.

Insignia LED-LCD HDTV Model: NS-32E570A11

I am Handicapped & Disabled & Must be hooked up to medical experiment for 6-7 hours a day & remain in bed & awake during this time. I purchased this TV : Insignia LED-LCD HDTV Model: NS-32E570A11
after my 7 month old Dynex™ - 32" Class / 720p / 60Hz D/ LCD HDTV DVD Combo
Model:DX-32LD150A11 refused to hold & recognize in it's memory HD channels. Guess I should have read the posts from other Dynex users, cuz there are a lot of problems with Dynex.
Even one of the Managers at my Best Buy store told me that her Dynex same exact TV did the exact same thing.   I am hoping that once repair is done that I will get a "RA" number so I can get some of my money back on this insignia TV.
I do not See any difference with the Insigna TV & it is not as clear at home as it was in the store.
I have Time Warner cable with extended basic cable & within the last 6 months TWC had installed much larger cables underground & the cable is not the problem.
I did notice that in the store they only had very few channels.   Do they "Tweak" the channels in the store &/or power them differently to get sharper clearer images??
I am ready to take the LED Insignia TV back next time I am in town as it is 26 miles each way to get to the closest store.
I should be able to buy a TV & not have to worry that it is going to die on me. My old 36"Toshiba with a big tube lasted 16+ years.
Any suggestions on "RELIABLE" LCD 32" TV's that I can afford on just my SS income??

Stores do nothing to "tweak" channels in the store. TVs have many dozens of settings that can be changed by a user at home, and sometiems have presets to switch between certain values that the manufacturer has deemed "optimal" for certain viewing situations. If none of the preset settings offer the picture you desire, you will either need to learn how to change the settings to fit your viewing situation, or pay for a professional calibration.
It took me almost 6 months before I got my TV settings the way that I wanted them to be, using the calibration settings on various Disney DVDs, Star Wars DVDs, and special calibration DVDs, and constantly having a critical eye for everything I watched. After all of that time and effort, my TVs are about as close to profesionally calibrated as I can get them.
Have you had Time Warner out to the house to verify that it's not actually a cable problem? Just because they put "bigger cables" in the ground doesn't mean that the signal to your home is any better. Most cable and satellite companies compress their signal quite a bit on HD, and the quality suffers as a result.

Philips LCD HDTV without RF Input???

Hi - I am curious about this Philips model television:
Philips - 55" Class / 1080p / 240Hz / LCD HDTV

But noticed it doesn't have an RF Antenna input! Does this mean it doesn't have a built in digital tuner? I thought all new HDTV's had built in tuners to pick up free stations. If I don't have cable and get this TV, will I have to buy a digital tuner too? That seems really silly, so I hope I am missing something.

According to the owners manual, there is indeed an RF connector:

Another tip-off was the V-Chip in the specifications. A V-chip indicates it has a built in tuner.

Sharp 32" LCD HDTV or should we go with Samsung LCD HDTV?

Hi-
I'd like some opinions please.
We are in the market for a 32" flat screen tv - our first- and we cannot decide between the Samsung 32" 1080p Flat Panel LCD HDTV or the Sharp-AQUOS 32" 1080p Flat Panel LCD HDTV?
Consumer Reports has not yet rated the Sharp per my brother but he said Samsung ranked #1.
Any thoughts out there?

THAT I find surprising, especially considered that 5-6 years ago Sharp commanded something like 60-70% of the OEM LCD panel market. That is, they were the original manufacturer of the screens used in products branded by a LOT of other people - they didn't sell very much under their own name. I am positive that not too long ago they were the #1 or #2 manufacturer of LCD panels (not fully assembled units, but the source of panels to other manufacturers) in the world.
Similarly, I'd be extremely shocked for Sharp to be using another manufacturer's "B" screens when Sharp manufactures their own panels.
Also, Korean companies like Samsung have historically had a worse quality track record than Japanese companies like Sharp, although recently (the past 5-10 years), the Korean companies have made SIGNIFICANT improvements in quality control.

No, it is not a SmartTV.
No, it has no USB input.
No, you cannot connect a USB dongle and get WI-Fi.
No, you will not get Netflix/YouTuve in this price range.
When shopping the lowest tier of TVs, you will have to realize that the bells and whistles will be few and far between.
If you want the tings you listed built in to your TV, then you'll have to look at higher priced models.

I am using a mini display port to VGA adapter. I have sucessfully hooked up boh devices but it stopped working after a handful of times. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to fix the problem or is my cable broken?

ahhhh more fun, 3 windows updates are now causing a no boot, Black screen. Everytime i must do a system restore and i see the logs of the updates, anyone know what the cause of this problem is?

When you said you used the Reg Exp tool, did you use it only as
preconfigured by the iMT migrate application wizard?
Because the default configuration of the regular expression tool will only
target the files in your ND project directories. If you wish to target
classes outside of the normal directory scope, you have to either modify the
"Source Directory" property OR create another instance of the regular
expression tool. See the "Tool" menu in the iMT to create additional tool
instances which can each be configured to target different sets of files
using different sets of rules.
Usually, I utilize 3 different sets of rules files on a given migration:
spider2jato.xml
these are the generic conversion rules (but includes the optimized rules for
ViewBean and Model based code, i.e. these rules do not utilize the
RequestManager since it is not needed for code running inside the ViewBean
or Model classes)
I run these rules against all files.
See the file download section of this forum for periodic updates to these
rules.
nonProjectFileRules.xml
these include rules that add the necessary
RequestManager.getRequestContext(). etc prefixes to many of the common
calls.
I run these rules against user module and any other classes that do not are
not ModuleServlet, ContainerView, or Model classes.
appXRules.xml
these rules include application specific changes that I discover while
working on the project. A common thing here is changing import statements
(since the migration tool moves ND project code into different jato
packaging structure, you sometime need to adjust imports in non-project
classes that previously imported ND project specific packages)
So you see, you are not limited to one set of rules at all. Just be careful
to keep track of your backups (the regexp tool provides several options in
its Expert Properties related to back up strategies).

Please bear in mind that this statement is not totally correct:
Since the migration tool does not do much of conversion for
these
utilities we have to do manually.Remember, the iMT is a SUITE of tools. There is the extractiontool, and
the translation tool, and the regular expression tool, and severalother
smaller tools (like the jar and compilation tools). It is correctto state
that the extraction and translation tools only significantlyconvert the
primary ND project objects (the pages, the data objects, and theproject
classes). The extraction and translation tools do minimumtranslation of the
User Module objects (i.e. they repackage the user module classes inthe new
jato module packages). It is correct that for all other utilityclasses
which are not formally part of the ND project, the extraction and
translation tools do not perform any migration.
However, the regular expression tool can "migrate" any arbitrary
file
(utility classes etc) to the degree that the regular expressionrules
correlate to the code present in the arbitrary file. So first andforemost,
if you have alot of spider code in your non-project classes youshould
consider using the regular expression tool and if warranted adding
additional rules to reduce the amount of manual adjustments thatneed to be
made. I can stress this enough. We can even help you write theregular
expression rules if you simply identify the code pattern you wish to
convert. Just because there is not already a regular expressionrule to
match your need does not mean it can't be written. We have notnearly
exhausted the possibilities.
For example if you say, we need to convert

RequestManager.getRequestContext().getModelManager().getModel(XModel.class);
Maybe we or somebody else in the list can help write that regularexpression if it has not already been written. For instance in thelast

Please not, that in some cases (Utility classes in particular)
the rule
application may be more effective as TWO sequention rules ratherthan one
monolithic rule. Again using the example above, it will convert
CSpider.getDataObject("Foo");
To
getModel(FooModel.class);
Now that is the most effective conversion for that code if that
code is in
a page or data object class file. But if that code is in a Utilityclass you
really want:

So to go from
getModel(FooModel.class);
To
RequestManager.getRequestContext().getModelManager().getModel(FooModel.class
You would apply a second rule AND you would ONLY run this rule
against

and Model classes which are completely fine with the simplegetModel call.

ACE: a class-map with multiple ports... what about the probe/serverfarm?

One question about something I was not able to find in the documentation.
Lets say I have one class-map which includes 2 ports (in this case https and 5061).
Can I associate this class-map to just 1 generic serverfarm and probe for both ports or I have to specify 2 serverfarms/rservers/probes?
So, by not specifying the ports on the rserver, if a request is received on port 443 (or 5061), it is sent to the same respective port on the rserver?
The same way is valid for the generic probe. ACE module is able to probe both ports based on the class-map?

Even if you use the 4710 appliance or expect the inheritance in the module software, it's worth considering if this is really what you want. If you keep multiple ports in the L3/L4 class-map you can't handle the services independently. You will have a common serverfarm for both https and 5061. If https service stops on one rserver, the ACE will place that rserver (and not that service) in out-of-operation state and it won't receive any 5061 traffic either. (You have the fail-on-all probe option but I wouldn't say it's a better choice. In that case, https traffic would be sent to the rserver even if https port is closed as long as there is at least one working service on it.) That's why I prefer a separate class-map and separate serverfarm for each service. (They can contain the same rservers, no need to duplicate.) BUT if the software supports probe port inheritance, you can benefit from it even in this scenario: serverfarm-443 and serverfarm-5061 can both use your PROBE_GENERIC_TCP.

About the Skin class and all the subclasses...

To test and get to know the workflow of catalyst & fb I've started to create a custom video player. Dragging a psd through catalyst work the magic then port it to flex builder.
Everything fine and well after some playing arround in catalyst (nontheless the lack of a togglebutton for now but that's neglectable) I've got it ported to flash builder.
In fb; I am using a spark VideoPlayer instance and skin it with a VideoPlayerSkin. Here arrises the first problem; it seems the VideoPlayer mxml tag doesn't recognizes the mxml file extending VideoPlayerSkin.
Ok I can bypass this using skinClass={CustomVideoSkin} (CustomVideoSkin is the class name of my actual VideoPlayerSkin).
Now when I look at the button skins catalyst exported (which I made in catalyst) I see the usage of the <s:Skin> class where all states are defined and transitions if there are anny. This get's me kinda confused couse it seems there is for each component an individual skin class but using the <s:Skin> compared to ex: <default:VideoPlayerScrubBarSkin> is completely different.
In the case of using the above example (VideoPlayerScrubBarSkin) I need to extend this to VideoPlayerScrubBarSkin this to assign the face and the track.
I'm getting kinda lost in using what and when and where and more how...
Would appreciate some clarification on this.

I couldn't really tell if you were running into a Catalyst issue or a Flex SDK issue (or both). From the Flex SDK perspective, when you skin any component, you create a new MXML class rooted with <s:Skin> (this really means the new file extends the Skin class).
Here's a short and simple custom skin for the Video Player:

Each component has a skin. By default, VideoPlayerScrubBar uses the default skin we ship with the component. To skin that sub-part, you'll need to create a new Skin file, something, like:

This new skin file can be done inline (with Declarations), but it's reccomended just to create a new MXML file for it.
