About the ios 8.0.1

Hey
Are you going to do something to make up for the incovenient caused By ios 8.0.1

I've had no problems with it. In fact, Touch ID seems to unlock my phone faster than ever before.
When 8.0.1 came out, I updated and had the same issues as many, and since Apple hadn't yet pulled the update and you can't downgrade, I went to the Genius Bar. When the guy asked me "What's going on with your iPhone?" I pointed to where it said "iOS 8.0.1" in the "About" menu, and said "does this answer your question?" and he said, "yep!"

Yea I would have to say wait until the release of IOS 5, because the phone will probably run it a lot smoother. I mean go ahead and buy the Iphone 4 if you are dying to have it, because you can just update it which is no big deal at all, but it would be the smarter thing to wait for the new updates.
And the networ issue as far as I am aware is fixed on the Verizon iPhones, so it really depends on which service you have.
    - correct me if i am wrong
Have to disagree here, Apple have not even announced an iphone 5, it is pointless to speculate that we will see one or not see one until Apple actually releases a statement. ios was built and tested on the iphone 4 so there will not be any slowdown or laggyness compared to a phone that has not been released yet.
If we are advising potential apple product buyers then we should not be putting them off buying a iphone 4 on speculations alone. Just because apple have for the last few years released an iphone every june/july does not mean then have to stick to this approach.
Apple have not issued any statement regarding an iphone 5, until this time it does not exist, only in heresay on the internet.
Any one looking to get an iphone 4, to you i would say waiting until ios 5 is released is a personal choice, no matter if you wait or not you will be able to update via itunes. One way or another in the future you will have to do an ios update via itunes whether this is the 5.0 software or 5,2,1.
Please note that Apple are very closed mouthed about new hardware releases and potentially a new iphone could be round the corner, however there is no evidence to suggerst this, i.e Apple have not even mentioned an iphone 5 this year anything you hear towards the contrary is media spin thus far and speculation.
ios 5 was built and tested to work seamlessly on iphone 4, the beta software released to developers is being tested on iphone 4. Please do not listen to people telling you that the iphone 4 will not run this ios as well as a phone that does not exist yet. When iphone 5 launches it will most likely have dual processors and not until its launch will the next gen apps start appearing.

  • I wanted to ask about the iOS 7.

    Hello
I wanted to ask about the iOS 7 This software will be available for iPod Touch 4?
    Thanks

The iPod touch has only 256MB for RAM and has a single core Apple A4 Processor, While the iPhone 4 does share the same chip, it has more RAM (512MB) features like Parallax Wallpapers, Dynamic Wallpapers, Animated weather, Dynamic clock app, Translucency, and not to mention all the camera features and improvements cannot be on only 256MB RAM. The newer iPod touch features a dual core A5 chip with (512MB) RAM, This is also a reason the older iPod touch didn't get Siri.

  • I have some questions about the ios 7.1 security -what if they replace the sim ?

i khnow now that with the new ios 7 no one ever can format the iphone with itunes if the find my iphone is on in the iphone
    but
1-what if they remove the sim and put a new sim?
can i still be able to track it with icloud and send messages to it and play sound and lock it with a passcode even if they remove the sim
2-what if they using an old version of itunes will they be able to format it as new iphone?
please answer each question both of them
i have iphone 4s with the latest ios 7.1

1-what if they remove the sim and put a new sim?
can i still be able to track it with icloud and send messages to it and play sound and lock it with a passcode even if they remove the sim
As I said, if there is a passcode in place they do not know, you will be able to track down the device, irrespective the SIM card they are using. By the way, if the device is locked, they should first unlock it in order to make their SIM work, calling the carrier and giving all your personal data they do not have.
On the other hand, if the phone is unlocked and does not have any passcode, then yes, they will be able to use any SIM with it and turn off any tracking software.
2-what if they using an old version of itunes will they be able to format it as new iphone?
Same as in previous: if they have the iPhone without any lock then yes, they will be able to restore it as a new phone.
Follow all the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5818 in order to turn on Activation Lock and make more difficult for them to restore your phone without permission.

  • TS4268 about the iOS 7

if your service is shut off can you still use imessage with the new update ?

iOS 7 is NOT "the new update".  It is in early beta testing, available only to developers, and if you are considering pirating a copy of it, say goodbye to your phone.

  • IT Match on mac, now about my iOS devices....

I signed up for iTunes Match on my mac.  I went through the matching process, then, I followed an article in MacWorld about getting all 128 bitrate or protected tracks in a smart album, deleting them, then downloading the 268 bitrate, unprotected versions.  That process has been going on all night.  Currently it's at the end of step two, with 3359 of 3362 Songs Checked (taking forever, but the spinning wheel next to iTunes Match in left panel is still spinning, so I'll let it continue).
My question is about the iOS side of things.  Once my mac iTunes gets updated with good tracks (a good 2/3 of my tracks will be "updated", can I connect my devices (one at a time) to iTunes, turn off music syncing, thus remove all my music on the device, then turn iTunes syncing on to get the complete, good version of songs to the device.  I figure this must be faster than upgrading via wifi and iT Match.  Later, I plan to turn on iT Match on the devices.  I read that turning on Match will not delete existing tracks on the device and start a re-sync from Match.
    Is this plan good?

I figured it out, I turned off Document syncing on all devices, then deleted the ~Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~TextInput folder instead of the subfolders that I deleted the first time, Then  I turned document syncing back on (warning , all text shortcuts are gone! ) on my Mac, and then on my iOS devices.
It took a few minutes for my devices to catchup, but they all went to zero text shortcuts, and I was able to create a new text shortcut on each device and have it replicate to the other devices.
While this fixed my problem, it's a good idea to back up your text shortcuts to another program( evernote? ) in case you need to do what I just did to fix a syncing issue.

  • Does the iOS 7.0.3 work good on iPhone 4?

Can somebody please tell if this works good, I haven't update it yet, I saw so many people complaining about the iOS 7 on iPhone 4 but now with this 7.0.3 update I would like to know if it works okay.
    Thanks!

Over 10 million people own iPhones and there were probably about that many people that upgraded to iOS 7.0.3. I'm sure there a vast majority of those people were or are 4 or 4S owners. You know about 9  and 6 of them that are having problems?  The rest of us worked through them and have no problems now. I think that the odds are in Apple's favor here.
If you don't like the new iOS, why don't you buy an android or windows phone?  Better yet, get the newest iPhone instead of calling people out in this forum?  This is a place for people to come and help one another so why don't you take that BS coming out of your keyboard and leave everyone else alone?!

Okay, so my friends think it is funny to change the passcode on my iPhone.
Maybe you should get new friends.
I'm not sure that recovery mode works when you have to trust the computer, but did you try it?
If you can't update or restore your iOS device - Apple Support
If that won't work, perhaps you can use Find my iPhone from a computer in your iCloud.com account to erase the device.
iCloud: Erase your device - Apple Support
This has nothing to do with the Find my iPhone app being installed on the phone, but you do have to have Find my iPhone activated in the iCloud settings on the phone.

Try the suggestions here to see if they resolve your problem:

If these don't work you may have a hardware problem. Visit an Apple store for an evaluation or contact Apple Support.

I'm worried about losing photos/videos of my children. Im not sure if there's something special I need to do once I turn it back on; in the meantime, its still on... which I'm afraid the picture on the screen will burn into the screen. Does that happen on iMac's? Thx!

Try a hard reset. ( holding Power til it restarts)
Once to your desktop. Click the Apple icon >> About this mac >> More info>> Storage
Once you see what you have the most of. Try to see what you can delete.
Open up any folder>>all files>> or buy an external to store more data.
Once deleting make sure you empty your trash.
If you are new and its a new computer, you might need to bring it to a store for further assistence.
