About the JVC KS-PD500 interface Adapter & Zen MicroPhoto

Hi everybody,
I have found some info about the JVC KS-PD500 interface Adapter, that is intended to be used between the mp3 Player XA-HD500 (http://www.infosyncworld.com/reviews/n/6374.html) and JVC Car Audio.
The JVC mp3 player uses Windows media player 0, like the Zen Micro & Microphoto, so I think the adapter could work with our Zen's.
Anybody could confirm if it works?
Regards

My JVC KS-PD100 works fine and charges my old iPhone, I have just upgraded to iPhone 3G but when I plug into my JVC KS-PD100 adapter, it doesn't charge my iPhone 3G any more, is it because of the iPhone 3G hardware change?
Yes. Original iPhone can use firewire charging; 3G cannot.
Is there any fix for it? like another adapter in between in the connector to make it charge my iPhone 3G? so that I can listen music in car but don't need to worry about the battery.
I'd imaging there will be some sort of adapter or dongle or much existing hardware will be obsoleted by this very strange design decision.

  • About the role of SSO interface versions on portal functioning

i have a general question about the SSO version and the Portals functioning. it relates specifically to 9iAS portals 3.0.9 and OracelAS 10g(904).
how significant is the SSO interface version (like v1.1, or v1.2) in the portal functioning.
    - what relevance does it have with the WWSEC_ENABLER_CONFIG_INFO table entries? i know it can be seen in that table too. but what does it do for these entries.
    - if the SSO interface version would not be correct, will it change the site2pstoretoken value? i suppose it precedes this token value sometimes.
    - what errors one should expect if the SSO interface version is not correct for a certain portal?
    thanks for any help.

  • How about the JVC GY-HD100U w/ FCP?

I am being offered a quote at cost for this ProHD camcorder. My immediate needs are broadcasting local commercials and maybe some webcasting. I have been warned by peers that the JVC-HD has proprietary issues with FCP. However, if my immediate needs do not require HD is this a good deal? or if I am willing to spend in the ball park of $5k is there a Sony or Panasonic ProHD camcorder that will offer all of the features fully compatible with FCP?

The first HD-100's had some issues that were addressed by a free upgrade to HD-100A. Mine came with the upgrade. It's marked A on the bottom of the camera. I have seen this problem on footage from my JVC, and I now realize, the demo JVC and a demo Panasonic HVX-100. It's worst on footage from my JVC, but there is some stuttering on all of them. Might be time for a new Mac, still testing.
Most users are very happy with the HD-100 and FCP 5.1.2
As for preferences, it depends more on what you do and how you use the camera than anything else. All of the baby HD cams have some issues, but all are great tools for the price point.

  • Question about the Microsoft's Wireless Display Adapter (WDA)

Only one wireless display can be managed via Intel WiDi at a time.

Hello guys, so my boss got a couple of these WDAs for the conference and training rooms to connect laptops to the TVs and projectors via wireless instead of cables, they work really nice and everything but he also asked me to look into connecting a single computer to two of these adapters at the same time (so sort of using two projectors as dual screen with one laptop for example), anybody has any idea about this? Been doing a little research here on my own but no answers so far, was wondering if anybody can shed some light here.
But as far as i know, it's not possible, you will need to disconnect from the one you are currently connected to, then you can connect to the other dongle and vice-versa.
let me know what you guys think.

  • QUestion about the Explorer for Data Files on Zen X

I would like to put some of my school document files and architectural drawings onto the Zen Xtra as a Hard Dri've, but do I need to install the CD that came with it before I can actually put files onto it's

    Hey,
Unfortunately, the Zen does not show up as a dri've when you plug it into the computer (it's not just the xtra, the touch doesn't either), I understand the plight that you're going through. You will need to use the intallation disk to install Nomad Explorer because you can do a transfer like that. I shows up as an item in my computer, Once it finds the player there will be a music folder and a data folder, just open the data folder and drag and drop. Hope this hel
    ps.
I have a school laptop where all my files are but unfortunately I don't have admin rights so I can't intall the software/drivers so I use my home network and cds as well as my flash dri've to move any new files over to my home desktop to transfer to my zen. It works well for a weekly backup, that sort of thing...Sorry but you'll have to use the install disk. As long as your an admin, no prob.

  • About the Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter

I have a question about the Thunderbolt to FireWire 800 adapter. I want to use this adapter so I can attach two FireWire devices, because I don't want to daisy chain (I need as much speed as possible, so not two devices on one port).
But suddenly I wondered: will I get full FireWire speed on both ports? Or is there some kind of controller on the mainboard that will bottleneck because the MacBook Pro only ships with one port or something like that? So basically my question is, will the two ports share bandwidth (just like when you daisy chain on one port) or will you really get two FireWire ports which you can use both at their "full" bandwidth?

I have pretty much the same need as you and purchased a HP laptop with Thunderbolt port and Windows 8.  I also picked up the Apple Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter.  I have been unable to get Windows to detect the Firewire side of the adapter.  Windows 8 seems to pick up the Thunderbolt controller correctly and shows it as an extension of the PCI express bus.
I have found no set of drivers that I can add that will get the Firewire side to be recognized by Win8.  Win 8 should have 1394b drivers native, so I don't know what the problem is.  I wish I could get this to work, because I just don't have the option of getting a MacBook for the things I need to do.
Right now the only other Thunderbolt to Firewire option on the horizon seems to be the Belkin Thunderbolt Express Dock, but that has 2 problems.... 1, it is still in pre-order and 2, it is ~$300.

  • Is there Any alternate software available for the zen microphoto that allows me to

<SPAN class=postbody>I can only view the contents of my Zen microphoto as folders and files (i.e. it gives me a "Windows Explorer" type view of the contents) - I cannot view my Zen microphoto library in the same way as my PC Music Library (i.e. by Genre, Artist or Album) Is there Any alternate software available that allows me to see and organize my Zen microphoto library in the same way as my PC Music Library (i.e. by Genre, Artist or Album)

There is program in the App Store called Bookpedia that seems tailor-made for your situation.

Bento is another easy to use database solution.
Or GoogleDocs has a spreadsheet application, free online, although not really specific to your application.
If you really are using OS8.6, as your signature states, you may look for an old version of FileMaker on eBay.

  • Zen Microphoto Pixel Problems (Red Li

OK, so I have a BRAND NEW Zen Microphoto and ever since I first turned the thing on I have this RED LINE (about pixel wide) running vertically down the middle of my screen. It's like you can still see what's there behind it if you look closely.
I actually had gotten it go away for a little while, and it has come back and has been there since. So I don't believe there is damage to the actual OLED screen, but who knows I'm no professional here!!
Other than the annoying line the player seems to be working fine.. but like I said, its ANNOYING.
I have tried a few things to fix it.. I've formatted it and rebooted it from Recovery Mode.. I've TRIED to update the firmware, but I can't seem to get the Firware Update to connect to my Microphoto. Windows, Windows Media Player, and Creative MediaSource Organizer reads it being there.. yet NOT the Firmware Update. Actually I THINK I got WIndows to update the Firmware for me or something because accorinding to my Microphoto it already has that version on there?
If anyone has any suggestions, or heard of this happening PLEASE let me know. I'm not really sure what to do at this point. I looked all over the place to find one, and when I finally did I'm having problems with it!
    Thanks!

I am having the exact same problem with my Zen Microphoto. There is a vertical red line in the display. It appears to be pixel in width extending the height of the screen, top to bottom. EXTREMELY annoying!
What is Creative's policy to fixing this?

  • Issues copying more than 47 folders to Zen MicroPhoto via Media Explo

I have had my Zen MicroPhoto for a few weeks now and not had any issues with it until now. This is really strange and may be a little confusing to understand. And yes, I do have the latest Firmware version...
I have included an image to show the organization of my music. Instead of dumping all the individual tracks into the main directory, I keep them all sorted by Artist, Album, and then the Tracks themselves.
As you can see, I have 47 folders in the root "Music" folder on my Zen MicroPhoto, but if I try copying any more into the "Music" folder, it randomly places them inside any one of the folders <EM>inside</EM>the "Music" folder. For instance: I dragged all my music I own by The Beatles onto the Zen, but it placed The Beatles' folder in Bowling For Soup's (?). At first, when the artists were no longer showing up in the main Music folder, I thought that they were just for some reason being hidden or something... but they do infact play on my Zen MicroPhoto without any trouble. Then I was looking through my folders to sort some music and there it was: "The Beatles", sitting in my "Bowling For Soup" folder.
I do have quite a bit of knowledge about Operating Systems -- and computers in general -- but this issue has really got me... anyone else experiencing this?
    <IMG src="http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/889/zenmediaexplorer3ct.jpg">
    P.S. I <EM>have not</EM> tried reformatting my Zen yet, but I will if I can't find a solution here.

I just Formatted All and Reloaded Firmware... seems to have fixed it for now. I will update if it occurs again.

  • Zen Microphoto works with USB1.1, but not USB

I recently bought a Zen Microphoto 8gb. After some trouble installing it, i finally got it to work. My computer has 6 USB-ports, where 2 is USB. compliant, and 4 are USB2.0 compliant. I connected the Microphoto to one of the USB. ports, and Windows XP installed it automatically after a few seconds. This works fine.
But I want faster transfer speeds, so I connected the player to one of my USB2-ports, expecting it to work equally there. What happens when I do this, is that Windows XP acts as the player is not installed.. A message at the systray tells me "Creative Labs ZEN MicroPhoto found", and a driver install window pops up telling me to insert the included CD to install the driver (obviously because the driver now isn't implemented in XP)
I then tried to uninstall the players drivers and then plug it in the USB2.0 ports. Just the same problem.
Windows finds the drivers when connecting it to USB., but not when connecting it to USB2.0
I have Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Media Player 0. Can anyone help me, as I am a music artist, and need a working MP3-player.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I have the same problem actually. Works fine on my USB1.1, but it was a bit slow, so i bought a PCI USB 2 Card. When I plug it in, I get the generic hdd and nothing in iTunes. I got it working a few times in the USB2, but only after reinstalling and installing the iPod software, but it stops working the next time i connect to it.
Not sure what the issue is so far.

  • A few questions about the Zen Mi

I'm looking into the Zen Micro 5GB, and I have a few questions that I couldn't find on the sight or aren't completely sure of. Sorry if I'm just blind and didn't see them, but I figured you guys could help.
) How do you charge the battery? I'm assuming its with some sort of adapter, and if so, is it included with the player?
    2) It says Windows 98SE is compatible, so does this mean regular Windows 98 won't work at all? I'm currently using W98 but will probably be upgrading soon so it chouldn't be too much of a problem, but if W98 is supported I could order it sooner.
    3) Will it work in tandem with a cassette adapter for a car? A cassette adapter isn't on the accessories page, but will one I already own work just fine?
Those are all I can think of right now, thanks in advance for your help, and feel free to leave any comments about the player that any of you have.

the headphone jack problem is not really fixed. If you rather not have it happen to early, i would suggest you take really good care of your ZM's headphone jack. Just take good care of it. But the headphone jack problem may occur at any point, i dunno why. it is very strange, some owners are lucky that the problem will occur in 6-2 months or maybe not at all for now. There are some owners that are unlucky that the problem may occurred like 2 weeks to couople months. I am currently trying to take really good care of my ZM after all the great lessons i learned from my previous mp3 players.
the headphone jack problem isn't fix, so be cautious a bit.

  • CBWFQ: Question about the output of "show policy-map interface" command

    Hi everyone,
I have a question about the output of "show policy-map interface" command.
The following is the output of this command and lower side of the output shows
    (total queued/total drops/no-buffer drops) 0/342/0
If the packets drop occur due to the situation of no enough buffer,
"no-buffer drops" counted up. But "no-buffer drops" has not been counted up.
The "no-buffer drops" is 0 (zero) but "total drops" are counted as 342.
I guess there are other factors except "no-buffer drops" to add "total drops".
But I can not find any information about "other factors".
So I would like to know the "other factors" added to "total drops".

  • Question about the DB adapter

    Question about the DB adapter
    ns2006.0.7
    Question:
It seems that we can only have 1 db adapter, but in the adapter defiition we have to specify the database.  If I want to communicate to several different databases on different platforms, Oracle / SQL I need to install a DB adapter for each database connection.
I can't figure out how to add a second DB adapter, does anyone know how?
    Thank you
    Daniel
    Safeway Inc.

    Hi
We're new at developing our own agents etc. We've leveraged the supplied DB agent and written the relevant adapter, however we're struggling with the transformation.
Could I be cheeky and ask if anyone would be willing to share a transformation they have written for the DB adapter? Unfortunately no-one in our team has had past XML experience, so we're trying to backwards engineer from examples.
    Thanks, Meghan

  • A few questions about the FCE interface

I'm new at FCE, but I've done video editing for a few years in Windows (Vegas Movie Studio mostly, it was pretty good but limited in the number of video and audio tracks). I've finally made the jump to Mac and I'm excited getting started. The ability to do keyframes and motion is outstanding and I can't wait to play with LiveType and Soundtrack.
There's a few things I'm not sure I understand about the FCE interface. I'm working on my first project and it's going to me mostly made up of short (4-10 second) video clips and still photos (with pan and zoom and some motion) and background music. I've done several of these in the past in other software, this project is my learning one for FCE.
However, I can't understand why some things happen they way they do. If I drag a clip or still from the bin to somewhere in the middle of my existing sequence where there are no items on the video track, it 'parts the seas', moving all video on all tracks to the right and cuts my audio track wide open leaving a huge gap to make room for the clip or still even if it has no audio. The same thing happens in reverse if I'm deleting a still or clip, it chops it out and scoots everything over. I think I want to manage my own gaps rather than FCE trying to manage it for me. Does this have something to do with ripple editing - something that I must not have learned in my Windows video editing experience?
I've ordered a few tutorial books based on recommendations in this forum, they're on their way. I didn't expect to be immediately proficient, but it seems I'm not understanding something fundamental about the interface.
There's other questions too, like when I move a video clip from one track to another (up or down, not left or right), why does it move the audio portion of that clip to another audio track? Sometimes it stomps on something I already had on that track. Can't I unlink those somehow?
When I bring two clips or stills together and attempt to overlap them (which I think should mean I'm doing some type of transition), it seems to just truncate one or the other. I suppose I just need to get used to that?
Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
    iMac 20" intel   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

You need to get comfortable with targeting your tracks and, as mentioned, locking off tracks you don't want to affect.
You say you want to add a clip/still to the "middle" of a sequence ... I take it there are clips to either side of this spot that you don't want to affect. Then I would set In and Out (I and O) points in the timeline to define the space you want the clip to occupy. If you don't want audio to carry over, then lock off whatever audio tracks you have edited. Then do an Overwrite by either dragging the clip to the far right of the screen to get the Overwrite pop up or by using the F10 key.
The Delete key to the right of your keyboard (sometimes under the help key) does a ripple delete. The Delete key under the number keys (sometimes a backspace key) removes a highlighted portion of video without rippling the timeline.
If you lay in a new clip with audio and don't want to affect an existing track, target a separate set .. so if you have a clip on V1 with its audio on A1/A2 and you want to overwrite the video but add new audio, target V1 and A3/A4.
As to overlapping clips .. if you want to use transitions, overwrite your first clip. Overwrite the second right up against it .. don't try to overlap. Now select your transition and drop it down between the two clips. NOTE: FCE needs handles ... like about a spare 15 frames of info on both clips
I strongly reccomend Tom Wolsky's book on FCE. It has tutorials and is a great way to start. I've never used Vegas but FCE is a very deep program ... it takes time, practise and patience (and you online manual is a great resource too)
