About the packet format of SNMP Trap

hello all,
i would like to receive SNMP Traps, but i couldn't find the precise definition of Trap packet, as the follow:
﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣
0000 30 81 E1 02 01 00 04 06 70 75 62 6C 69 63 A4 81 0.......public..
0010 D3 06 0B 2B 06 01 04 01 82 57 02 05 01 01 40 04 ...+.....W....@.
﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣﹣
the above data are copied from other snmp trap application, it's not the same as what i know, for example, the second byte should be the the whole length of the packet, but 0x81 is not the length, the third one is (0xE1), the same confusion, what does 0x81 after the 0xA4 mean? and i tried to produce a longer trap packet, the 0x81 was replaced by 0x82, could someone help me please

  • About the OMF format

    Hi everyone here!
    I now want the information of the OMF file,I need only the detail of the very track's split audio object's name, timing and the track's ID . i try to use the event list of the audio track , but it cannot be transfered to TXT file so I think of the OMF file .But I search the internet but no find some useful information, can anyone here give me so useful inforamtion ?
    Thanks!

    well i am not sure what you are trying to achieve but you can export OMFs with logic although they may not necessarily be importable with anything....!
    you might be better exporting an AAF. also you can take a snap shot of the event list by holding down shift-apple-4 which turns the cursor into a crosshair you drag over the part of the screen you want tot capture.

  • Question about the new format of iTunes

    I have the new version of iTunes, but I want all of my music in the "Music" folder under "Library" - not the stuff I downloaded from CDs in "Music" under "Library" and the stuff I purchased in iStore in "Purchased" under "iTunes Store". I have a regular laptop with Windows XP on it, if that helps anyone at all. Is there some way I can fix it so all my music appears in the "Music" folder?
    If anyone has an answer, please email me at [email protected]

  • Everything about the movie formats change going from FCP into iDVD.

    I made a few movies and I simply want them on a DVD. I convert them into QT movies and everything looks great. When I move the files into iDVD, it squishes the actual movie into 4:3 even though the original QT movie is 16:9 and iDVD is set up for 16:9 and the quality is horrible. I check the "Project Info" and my 3.1GB file has shrunk down to a 376MB file. This has happened with the last two movies I made. I'm really getting frustrated. Help!!

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.4 SNMP Traps are not converted into Alarms

    Hi everybody,
    I just configured SNMP Traps on a Cisco Catalyst 3750-x to send to our Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.4 Appliance.
    Now I forced the Switch to send some traps (Power off a Power Supply, Interface errdisable). The only events I see in Alarms & Events on PI is the same information message everytime:
    Configuration management event has been recorded in ccmHistoryEventTable.
    I think the forced traps should be converted into alarms? Why can't I see them?
    Thanks,
    Marc

    Ok, I started debugging as you said. I get the following output:
    Mar 13 09:28:13.711: SNMP: V2 Trap, reqid 11689, errstat 0, erridx 0
     sysUpTime.0 = 198609846
     snmpTrapOID.0 = ciscoSyslogMIB.2.0.1
     clogHistoryEntry.2.1688 = PM
     clogHistoryEntry.3.1688 = 5
     clogHistoryEntry.4.1688 = ERR_RECOVER
     clogHistoryEntry.5.1688 = Attempting to recover from bpduguard err-disable state on Gi1/0/13
     clogHistoryEntry.6.1688 = 198609844
    Mar 13 09:28:13.737: SNMP: Queuing packet to xx.xx.xx.xx
    Looks like the Switch is sending SNMP Traps from the ciscoSyslogMIB. Is this why PI can't show the Traps and convert it into a alarm?
    After this test I configured logging (syslog) to the PI. Now the errors are showed but still not converted into alarms. I just want to be notified by email when such errors occurs.
    Thanks,
    Marc

  • CSCud17778 - memory leak in middle buffers due to snmp traps

    The bug details list these as the conditions required to cause the symptom.  They don't specify whether these three conditions are an AND or an OR, but I'm assuming that all three must be satisfied:
    Conditions:
    1) more than one snmp-server hosts are configured
    2) "snmp-server enable traps snmp authentication linkdown linkup coldstart warmstart" command is configured
    3) some host sending broadcast SNMP traps
    What I'm confused about is #3 -- how would that be germane?  If some "host" sends SNMP traps to an IP broadcast address, the switch should ignore them because it will not be listening on UDP port 162.  If instead of SNMP traps, the host were broadcasting SNMP GETs, that would make it as far as the community string check, which would require buffer storage for the switch SNMP process.  And assuming that check failed, the generation of an authentication_failed trap to multiple trap receivers would require more buffers.
    Can anyone (especially from the TAC) clarify this?
    TIA,
    - Marty

    Hi Marty,
    Yes, all 3 are required (AND conditions).
    Also note for #2, it is really the "authentication" portion of the command.
    In this case, I believe the IOS devices is actually looking / listening to these received traps.  The receipt of this SNMP trap is definately a required condition to trigger this bug.
    Sincerely,
    David.

  • Enterprise Manager Grid Control can send SNMP Traps to third-party?

    GC 11.1
    It looks like a simple config, but I've got into a confusion about it.
    I'm trying to figure out the configuration to send SNMP traps to a third party server.
    My scenario is:
    Node A (managed, monitored) ---- GC box------ SNMP box (final destination).
    My understanding is that the traps (notification methods) configured on GC box are generated by the Agent on Node A, then received by the GC and distributed as e-mails.
    What is the config to set the traps from A to reach SNMP box?
    There is the help page from the GC page (confused about interpretation):
    "Add SNMP Trap pageThe Add SNMP Trap page enables you to provide the name of the host (machine) on which the SNMP Master Agent is running and other details so that SNMP traps can be sent through Notification Rules.
    An example is shown below.
    Name HP OpenView Console
    Description Notification method to send trap to HP openview console
    SNMP Trap Host Name litleguy.us.oracle.com
    SNMP Host Port 162
    SNMP Community public
    This SNMP host will receive your SNMP traps.
    Note: A Test Trap button exists for you to test your setup."
    Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
    Thx,

    Please reply with the specific questions around this.
    11.1
    EM can send SNMP traps to specific designated receivers. You create an advanced notification method (of type SNMP Trap) with the appropriate details about the receiver.
    (See Setup->Notification Methods)
    In the notification rules UI, you specify the alerts you are interested in forwarding and select the SNMP trap advanced notification method you created earlier.
    The SNMP receiver should be provided the correct MIB that defines the SNMP trap. There were some bugs with the MIB definition in one of the releases (don't recall which one off hand), so if the traps you are receiving don't match what the receiver expects - please let us know and we can point to the right one.
    regards

  • Syslog traps vs SNMP traps

    Concerning the Syslog logging and SNMP traps, what is the difference.
    I have seen that syslog is more for troubleshooting, but does syslog, when set to log "debugging", offer the same level of information that SNMP traps do?
    For example, can you get real time config changes via syslog as you can with SNMP?
    If so, why use both?

    syslog will send whatever you can see on the CLI of the device at a maximum of a debug level as you say.
    for SNMP traps related to configuration changes, you can use the mibs depending on the events you want to know about.
    If we take for example the config traps, they are part of
    CISCO-CONFIG-MAN-MIB. That mib can send traps with the following OIDs:
    ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/oid/CISCO-CONFIG-MAN-MIB.oid
    When you will go through that you will realize that the CONFIG mib and the syslog provide you with the same information: the CONFIG mib will not have more information than the syslog message.
    If you use the snmp object navigator, you will find for every OID what the function is:
    http://tools.cisco.com/Support/SNMP/do/BrowseOID.do?local=en
    A good paper about what traps are part of which mib:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094a05.shtml
    SNMP traps are a good way to gather information from the router without spiking the cpu with turning on CLI debug level. The CLI debug level is usually the most complete information you can get from a router anyways.

  • No SNMP traps from sun x4150 ILOM server

    Hi all,
    I have set up the ILOM alerts with SNMP traps (v2c,public) according to the ILOM user guide and pressed the "send test alerts". Nothing shows up in the SNMP trap monitor (using MG-SOFT software). When I add another alert of IPMI pet type (same destination ip as of SNMP trap alert) I see events in the trap monitor. It looks like the ILOM does not generate SNMP traps but only IPMI traps.
    In the ILOM user guide there is an explicit example of traps sent from the ILOM (in addition to the fact that the ILOM features include SNMP traps AS WELL as IPMI) so it seems this is possible...
    my ILOM version is
    SP Firmware Version     2.0.2.6
    Does anyone have any idea of any step I have missed ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Lior

    Once the Network Device (Linux server in this case) is discovered you will still need a rule that targets that class and accepts incoming SNMP Traps for that OID, or All OIDs if you prefer.  I found 2 links that may be of help, the first is just a basic
    overview of the SNMP listener in SCOM 2012 as it has changed from the OS Listener in 2007 to a dedicated one.

  • About the interface web oracle database express edition

    Hi
    I want execute a export from web interface I click on link "data" I choose the object table and after I click on link "download" but the file export at format csv contain only the lines which I see on the interface web .
    is it possible to export all rows of the table object in CSV file ?
    think

    There are many ways to skin that cat, i.e. just using sqlplus and spooling to a file:
    set pagesize 0 verify off feedback off linesize 500 trimspool on
    spool filename.csv
    select <col1> || ',' || <col2>[|| ','||<colN>] as csvout from <table>;
    spool off
    If there are date (or any of the timestamp) datatypes you'll want to be specific about the output format, i.e. use to_char( <col>, 'yyyymmdd hh24:mi:ss')...
    Also may want to have [var]char column values wrapped in single quotes, just add them in- i.e. ...''''||<col>||'''' it takes two single quotes inside a literal to get one in the output.
    There will still be some stuff in the spool file needing cleanup, like the 'spool off' command and an echo of the SQL if you're running sqlplus interactively, don't think there's any way to turn off that echo. 'set echo off' doesn't do it as one would think.
