About the screen painter tools

hi gurus,
i am trying to desighn a screen in existing prog but
when i am getting into layout i am not getting a procedural layout screen
not able to see the tool where we can normaly see,tried doing setting but not able to make it right.
so, please suggest any setting with which i can work procedurally,
or guide with the same.

Question about the animated Pen tool

Hi,
ive a question about the animated pen-tool.
i draw a word, but my hand isnt very calm, so the result is what you see on the screenshot.
Is there a possibility to reduce the points on the animated pen tool like in illustrator?
i know in illustrator its possible, but i didnt found anything in after effects to do it.

If you are using the Paint tools those options don't exist in After Effects. The only work around is to set a keyframe for the brush path, copy the keyframe, then go to Illustrator and in a blank document the same size as your layer paste. Once in Illustrator you can simplify the path, select it, copy it, then go back to After Effects and select the same keyframe then paste. If you get a mask instead of a new path delete the mask path, make sure you have only the original brush path keyframe selected, then go to Edit>Paste from the menu.
It doesn't look like you're drawing a mask path. That might be a better way to go.

when u drag n drop some fields in the screen goto to one of the corners of dat fields drag to the extend u want to increase.
or in attributes section for u length n width of dat fields are available just increase to your wish.

To set default values for screen painter parameters initialize the field names with default values in the PBO module....
say u have the field name as f_field1....
in the PBO of that screen initialize it....
f_field1 = '100' "here 100 is the default value.

I'm new to Illustrator and I am trying to use the live paint tool.

I have an image that I have outlined into different sections with the pen tool and now when I try to select the outlines and go into live paint> make, it prompts me with an error message saying "Selection contains objects that cannot be converted. Live paint groups can only contain paths and compounds paths. Clipping paths are not allowed." Is there a way to convert this so that I can fill in the selected areas with the live paint tool, or am I totally out of luck? -Not sure if this matters but I have a photo underneath the pen tool's outlines because I'm trying to edit it into more of a 2D geometric print which is why I need to live paint tool to help me fill in the shapes.

Put the image on a new layer below the artwork and lock the layer so the image cannot be selected. Did you use a mask of some sort? put that on the lower layer as well.

It supports both files in .xml or .srf (at least I have opened both with the Screen Painter). My guess it supports any extension ... as long as the contents in the file have the right xml code on them.

UI: Event Handling of forms created with the Screen Painter

I created a form with the Screen Painter and saved it as XML document. After that, I loaded this form with the following code:

Then the loaded form appears in the SBO application with all added items.
Now, I would like to know how I could handle an ITEM_PRESSED event for a button of this imported form.
It would be great if someone could help me with this problem and post some example code.

I have Lion on my 13" pro and have kept it up to date. Today I had a message about the need to update firmware. I pressed restart and there was language about the screen ging gray. I think it said for a few minutes. It has been 3 hrs. is this a problem?.

I got an alert to update firmware. When I click for restart a message the screen would gray and and it might ake a few minutes. That was about three hours ago and it is still gray and sitting there. Is this to be expected? What could/should I do? I am typing this on an ipad because the Macboob Pro is currently useless.

With Firmware updates, Apple will usually offer instructions to complete the update, since they require an additional step to complete. It sounds like you haven't finished the Firmware update completely.
Since it's your computer and investment, I wouldn't risk it and would visit your local Apple Store and let them solve the problem. In the meantime, read this link from Apple:

Should I get the iPod Touch? (Also a question about the screen issue)

I recently purchased the 8GB iPod Nano, and now i'm considering to add a $100 and get the iPod Touch 8GB. Would you guys recommend it?
Another question I had was that I heard about the iPod Touch having some Screen Issues, and read somewhere that if the Box has a picture of Macy Gray then its Bad. But I personally think the Macy Gray image is for the 8GB, and the other artist is for the 16GB.
Is there a 100% definite way for me to find out if it has a good screen or not?

Ok, I recommend the iPod Touch. 8GB is fine, and totally worth the $$.
The screen issue has been fixed by a firmware update, so as long as you update to the latest firmware, you should be in the clear.
I have a 16GB macy Gray and it is working perfectly so far (1 week of ownership)
However, you mentioned using your iPod in the rain. If you do so, the Touch is not for you! I would not want to get water even near it, because the technology could be very very sensitive to water. It was raining here the other day (in Los Angeles) and I was so scared to use the touch that I took my 8GB 3gen Nano with me instead. And I was still scared to use that.
You will have to take the touch out and look at it if you are going to operate it properly.
The good news:
you can make playlists on the go! That means you can, while it is still dry, set a nice playlist without connecting to your computer. But, if the volume needs to be adjusted, there is a shortcut that would take just a bit of memorization and careful skill. In your pocket, you can double tap the home button, and then the volume, pause and track forward/backward "buttons" pop up. If you can memorize their position and hit them right, the Touch can be operated in your pocket. But make sure your hands are dry!
So it's up to you. I think quality wise, the Touch has had most of its bugs worked out. The only things that will come in the future are additional features.

About the screen...not about the screen issues going on

I was playing around with a friend's iphone today. It was the first time I had ever seen an iphone up close and I noticed that the screen kinda looked a lot like it was one of those fake screens you sometimes see on dummy phones in a verizon or cingular store. I know the ipod touch has the same screen but I wanna know from some one who has their Touch already, does the screen look just like the one on the iphone? I really like the iphone's screen

I don't have an iPhone or a Touch, but from what Steve told everyone, the SAME screen in used on both systems.

You can take it to the Apple Store and pay them $199 for a replacement phone.
Or you can try to fix it yourself, keeping in mind that there are no legitimate sources for Apple parts.
Or you can try taking it to a 3rd party repair shop and see if they can fix it.
If you choose either of the last 2 options, the first will no longer be available to you.

Connectivity issue about the screen mirroring

My Z2 phone can not connect to sink device with the screen mirroing.
I try to analayze this issue by the wireshark application.
My analysis result is as below.
The operating channel of GO Negociation Confirmation is set to 36ch or 44ch when Z2 phone is P2P GO.
In case of 36ch, P2P sequence proceeds normally.
In case of 44ch, P2P sequence does not proceed, because Beacom frame is not transmitted from Z2 phone.
Does Z2 phone have the usage restriction of 5GHz band with P2P GO ?

We have looked into this more and also see that you have selected Japan as country in your accont. If you are located in Japan the cause of this issue was due to regulatory issues and channel selection. There's been an update for this in the update to Android 5.0 so that wrong channel is not selected which is why you're not seeing the issue after the update.
We have also started rolling our the update for Z2 but i'm afraid i can't see when the update will reach Japan. We are currently rolling out the update for the nordics and baltics.

my relatives stayed at our house last week, and when my half sister checked her email on my mac mini, she touched the screen many times...since i play a game with a black background, the little OCD in me can't stop staring at it...so my question is, how do i clean that off without damaging the monitor?

What kind of screen is it? If it is an LCD I suggest the iKlear Apple Polish kit. I use this on my PowerBook screen and it works just fine.
If it is a CRT monitor, then turn it off and clean it with Windex.

A question about the screen~~~

I got a small question regarding the MBA screen. I just used a screen test software to see if there is any problem. when the background of the screen was set to completely black, I found the bottom fringe of the screen seemed a little brighter than other part.Have you guys did the similar test and have met similar problems?

You always get a bit of light leakage on screens (or uneven lighting). Thankfully with LED backlight screens, you do get a more even illumination across the whole screen.
In tests, viewing angles also have to be taken into account. I have to say on my Air, on black background the lighting seems pretty even.
