About thumbnails of FF 602 not showing up

Thanks for a great software. It is great but sometimes having troubles as you keep on rolling new updates... One of rather minor issue but still annoying is that suddenly thumbnail of FF from taskbar and desktop (later noticed even actual exe file does not have it) vanished. And now its rather showing generic windows icon. I now its one the misserable issues here but still annoying as it now I hardly distinguish it from many other icons on the screen.
One more issue whislt am writing is with extensions. Now FF updates seaminglessly. On one side its a nice touch. On the other after update seems like some extensions become disabled. and these are frosen. So I even cant uninstall them. Having another problem that Adobe and Java keeps not updating but rather installing new extensions. So after a while I will have endless list of these uninstallable exptensions alone...

Also, how can I get iTunes to quit re-ordering my apps in ABC order? I like my main screen to be apps and my second screen to be games...but it keeps rearranging them.

Thumbnails of images will not show

When using bridge on some of my computers, thumbnails of images will not show, only a generic .eps icon. We are trying to view files from an Art Explosions CD library and are using Bridge CS6 V 5.0.0.399

In adition, please also try to use the following powershell commands to check if the assistant has right permissions:

Also check with:
Get-Mailbox -Identity CEO’s mailbox

Why aren't thumbnails of pages are not showing preview with master applied?

I was trying the basic tutorial, and noticed that when I click into the pages, the master is applied, but in the plan sitemap view, the master content is not showing up in their thumbnails. Meanwhile, the tutorial video shows the sitemap page thumbnails are including the master page content. Is there a view setting I don't know about?

As you can see, the master is applied to all child pages, and none of the master content is previewed in the thumbnails. I even tried checking and unchecking the thumbnail box. But when I click into the child pages, the master content is shown. It's just not appearing in this view.

Thumbnail on Provider Page not showing up for a new collection

The new MacLearning collection: iTunes U Munich Conference http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=445693522 has a thumbnail when you go to the collection page. However, this collection is currently featured on Duke's Provider Page under the "What's New" section http://itunes.apple.com/us/institution/duke-university/id420416991 and the thumbnail is not showing up for that collection. How can we get that thumbnail to show up on our Provider Page? Why is it not showing up?

There are two more collections on our Duke University iTunes U page that have collection artwork that is not updating. Here are the examples.

Both of these collections have newly uploaded thumbnails (uploaded many months ago)---but those thumbnails aren't reflected on the Tag page that houses these collections. These collections are in the John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute Tag Page here:http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/DZR.woa/wa/viewTagged?id=420416991&tag=John+H ope+Franklin+Humanities+Institute
But, the thumbnails on the Tag page are the old thumbnails, not the newly uploaded ones. How can we make sure the newly uploaded thumbnails are refreshed and showing up?

I have about 10 computer that will not show they have Windows 7 SP1

I have been upgrading all the Window 7 computers to SP1. I have been running reports and they are saying that some of the computers are not SP1. I looked on the computers and they are showing SP1 but, then I would look in AD at the properties
of the computer and that is showing that SP1 is not installed. This in is only happening in about 10 computers. Does anyone know why this would be happening?

Never witness anything as such. Also, how these computers are installed. Try the below query, what it says. Use powershell or something else to find out, are they reporting changed to SP1 or still same.

I have submitted a question about thumbnails, but it is not included under my Profile, so where is it held and how can I view it ?

This is my original question.
I have disabled the New Tab thumbnails by setting auto-config to 'aboutblank' and this has ensured the New Tab page is blank.
However, FF is still dumping these thumbnails onto my PC, this despite my having set the History to 'Clear Cache' on exit from FF. I have tested New Tab without thumbnails in my last FF session, yet found the thumbnails of visited Sites were on my PC.
If 'Clear Cache' does not remove these thumbnails, what does ?

You can create new properties in about:config by right-clicking in the list and choosing New > [entry type] from the context menu.
For true/false properties, choose New > Boolean as your entry type.

Thumbnail/preview images are not showing in Facebook (Safari/Firefox/Chrome)

I've never had this problem before in a year of having a new MBP. The MBP completely ran out of juice for days to the point of the clock resetting (whether this is an issue I don't know), although the MBP works totally fine and is now on full juice.
However, I've noticed that when using Facebook (which is important for my work / digital marketing), I can't see any preview thumbnails/images, which is really annoying, as when posting official work stuff I can't see if they are being displayed properly.
Screenshot of the problem- you will see a white question mark in a blue box where the image/preview thumb should be.
I've reset safari/firefox/chrome completely and deleted ALL history/cache etc etc and udated to all latest versions. All the usual troubleshooting stuff, but it's still happening!??

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select “Help” from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
As Guest, launch the application(s) and test. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.

Accents not showing with attachement ?

Hi, I posted a couple of months earlier about accents in my email not showing properly when I add an atachement like a PDF file, JPG, or even a GIF. I was wondering if it was Mail 2 that is having a problem or is it some software I installed. The only software I can think of that could have done this is Antidote, a french spelling app. It added it's own script in the services menu that I can use when selecting text to start the app and see if I miss spelled words or grammar errors.
I dont' know if anyone is experiencing the same thing. I was actually so fed up with it, that I actually re-installed Mac OS 10.4 from scratch to see if I could have played around with my characters palet or something, but the problem is still there..... lingering somewhere within mail 2, haunting my whole entire work days to come.

Some Thumbnail images not showing up in folders? just a icon

Just bought a Brand new Mac with i7 processor. It did not come with Lion installed though. So before doing anything I upgraded to the free Lion update. So here is the issue.
For some reason i cant view preview thumbnail images of some .ARW and .jpg files in some folders, while others I can. I made sure all the "view options" were set and everything. Also moved files to new folders. So here is what I did.
1. Reformated and Reinstalled Snow Leopard and put my .ARW files and the preview thumbnails show up in all folders with no issues. Then I updated to Lion again and now some show and some don't. The funny thing is that now files that did not show thumbnails the first time now does, and some that shown thumbnails now don't. Its different each time I install Lion OS
2. I removed the hidden .DS_Store files in these folders just to make sure those where not effecting it as well, but it did not do anything after a new one appeared.
Whats up with Lion? known bug? I did a search and did not hear about this issue yet? Am I the first lucky one?

I am having similar problems with viewing jpgs in preview / finder in 10.7... but only those that were create by either lightroom or photoshop ( LR 3 / PS CS4) after installing Lion... they preview fine in bridge and every other app.... Just not in Finder etc....
Very annoying!

The single download means that you won't be able to redownload it from the store without paying, either on a computer's iTunes or an iOS device - it doesn't stop you from copying the audiobook to your other computers or syncing it to your iOS devices, you just can't redownload it. (I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them requiring the one-time download.)
You can download audiobooks on your computer's iTunes and sync them to iOS devices, you do not have to buy them directly on the device (if you do then you can copy them back to your computer's iTunes library by connecting the device and using the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option on your computer's iTunes).
What you are doing to sync them should work i.e.
- connecting the iPad to your Mac
- selecting the iPad on your Mac's iTunes
- selecting its Books tab and selecting the audiobooks that you want to sync to the iPad and syncing/applying that selection.
You should then get an audiobooks option in the Music app on your iPad. If they aren't appearing there then do they show in Settings > General > Usage > Music on the device - if you have audiobooks on the iPad then they should be listed there under an 'audiobooks' heading.
By 'restart the iPad' do you mean a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You could also try closing its Music app via the iPad's taskbar : Force an app to close in iOS.
And do a soft-reset and retry syncing.
I assume that music and other items sync ok ?

Adobe Illustrator CS5 does not show PDF thumbnails when browsing

When I am browsing through PDF files to open one of them in Adobe Illustrator CS5 it does not show the thumbnail. When I am browsing in Adobe Acrobat it does show the thumbnails. If I have Adobe Acrobat open and am browsing through files and the thumbnails are showing then if I open Adobe Illustrator and browse for a file the thumbnail does show up.
How can I get Illustrator to always show the PDF thumbnails. I have to frequently browse through thousands of PDF files and it is imperative that I can see the thumbnail for these PDF files. I primarily use Illustrator to edit PDF files.
The computer is Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit edition. Thumbnails barely work when browsing files through Explorer. Some thumbnails will show, but not very many of them and it is extremely slow to load the thumbnails that will display.

So I am assuming you are talking about viewing the files using this method first:
To use the 32-bit version of Windows Explorer, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type the following in the Open box, and then click OK:
Drive_Letter:\windows\syswow64\explorer.exe /separate
Note The placeholder Drive_Letter represents the drive where the x64-based version of Windows is installed.
Please let me know if I am missing what you are saying here.

Elements 5 - Organizer will not show thumbnails

Recently moved Elements 5 to my new laptop - On the laptop the organizer will not show photos in any view other than single picture. Anything smaller shows the hour glass [also shows on the collections icons]. I deleated the first catalog transfer and have been only using new photos transfered from my D-50. It will run full screen shows just nothing smaller that a single picture view. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the Elements software.
I have unchecked the filer checker.
Systems is a Vista home premium 64 bit, 4 gig of ram, Lenovo ideapad laptop 5800T processor. Version 5.0.2
Any ideas?

I can't be sure this is the problem, but ...
Is this the first time you have opened PSE5 on this computer? If so, it truly is generating the thumbnails. Your statement about how in single image mode the thumbnail appears is a symptom of this phase of the operation. Just let it run. It will finish, and the problem will be gone.

Adobe Acrobat 8.1 Professional - Explorer Thumbnails not showing

Hi to all:
Recently I upgraded my Acrobat professional (part of the CS3 Design Premium Package) to version 8.1., and now the thumbnails in the windows explorer on PDF files are not showing anymore (in some files). It's only showing a simple sheet with the acrobat logo inside. Is there any way to bring them back?
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, 1.5 Gb memory and a 256 Mb. Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 Graphic card.

I have the same problem mentioned in the original post of this thread. It looks like the first reply misunderstood the issue. It is this:
In Windows Explorer on XP or Vista with Acrobat 7 (maybe 8.0 too, I don't know) the icon for a PDF file would display a thumbnail image of the first page of the PDF.
Starting with 8.1 (it might have been 8.0, but I skipped that version) the thumbnails are not shown -- only the Acrobat icon.
Before someone suggests it -- yes I have unchecked "Always show icons, never thumbnails" in the folder options dialog for Explorer. So that is not the problem here.
I have read hints about a fued between Adobe and Microsoft that brought this situation about. I am disappointed that Adobe is willing to punish their customers (again) as part of this battle.
With this and other lost features in 8.1 as well as the lack of response I have had over a licensing question, I have decided to switch to NitroPDF instead. If I have to, I'll write my own thumbnail viewer using the Foxit API.
