About to install CT4780.. how exact

ok im about to install a Creative Sound Blaster Li've CT4780 card but i have a few questions..
- First is it ok if i install the card on my gateway because i've read somewhere that the card was made for dells..
- Secondly how do i go about installing the card? am i suppose to first uninstall my current sound card's driver, and im not sure if ill be able to remove the hardware from my current card because its the one that came with the pc but im not sure about that, and if i dont remove that hardware, will it a window keep popping up saying "new hardware found" for my old card?
- Thirdly, this is what im hoping is gonna happen... first i will do ______________ so then ill be ready to install the card... then i will turn off my pc, plug in the card, windows will say "new hardware found" i will either..
A. click "browse for driver" and choose the driver.exe, then it will install the driver and itll restart and my sound card will be working.
B. when the "new hardware found" window pops up (or nothing pops up) i will close it and run the driver.exe, it will then tell me to restart and my sound card will be working
Heres the card that i bought:

    1. It means exactly what it says. Apple dropped support for earlier Mac OS X versions in iTunes 10.7.
    2. Update the computer to 10.6.8. If it's running a Mac OS X version prior to 10.6, this requires buying a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store, which requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB of RAM.

  • How about to install OS X on my PC using Windows OS

I want use Mac OS X but I'm using Windows OS. How about to install Mac OS X on my PC using Windows OS?
    Thanks

Do not know where you are from, but
Look at either new Mac Minis or older Mac Minis and older iMacs from reputable Apple authorised resellers, that may exist in your area or region, such as this example.
    https://www.powermax.com/
    https://www.powermax.com/page/used-macs
You can get used, older Mac MInI boxes pretty cheap.
FYI other than the high end professional Mac Pro line which IS VERY EXPENSIVE, other Mac models are more on par with the costs of today's Windows PCs.
The myth of Apple computers being expensive is really no longer true.

  • How, exactly, will the upgrade work?

I'd like to find out how, exactly the upgrade from Logic Studio 8 to Logic Studio 9.
I need to find out because I had a burglary and my installed version of Logic Studio 8 was stolen. I still have all the install DVDs, so, if the upgrade works on those, I have no problem. If the update works from the installed version, then I do.
If it does work from the installed version, is there a way of de-registering the computer that has been stolen? With iTunes there's a useful feature where you can de-authorise all your machines, including those you haven't got, then re-authorise just those that you do have. Is there some way of doing this with Logic?

It works either way. I've done both.
If logic is already installed on your machine, all you need to do is type in the logic 9 serial number.
If not as in your case, you will be asked for the new serial number and the old serial number from
logic 8. Hopefully you still have this number with your previous install disks.
Not sure about de-authorization. I know that you can only run 1 copy of logic at a time on the "same" network.
As eriksimon suggested, best to ask apple.

  • I'm about to install snow leopard on my 2006 macbook, OSX 10.4.11. I read that I'm supposed to copy my old OS to an external drive before hand. Why is this? What does it accomplish? If I upgrade to 10.6.3, why do I need a copy of my old 10.4.11?

I'm about to install snow leopard onto my 2006 macbook with OSX 10.4.11. I read that I should copy my old OSX to an external drive before I start. Why? What is the purpose of this? Once I have snow leopard, why do I want a copy of 10.4.11? Won't I be able to import what I need while installing?   Also, what is the point of partitioning my disk?  I don't understand what that's for if I'm only going to run one OS on there. Any experience or advice is greatly appreciated.

It is always wise to have a copy of your latest working system ... preferably on an external drive.   As Neil says, you may run into trouble and if you do you can always return to the original situation and start again.
Once you have installed Snow Leopard (an excellent system if I might say so) then you probably won't need 10.4.11 though you can never have enough back ups in my opinion.   It's amazing how often a need arises.
Having a backup on an external drive allays the need to partion your hard iMac drive for the same purpose..

Firefox doesn't update plugins like that. The worst you might see is a "nag" from Firefox after an update, about that plugin being outdated; and you can dismiss that "nag" by just closing it.

  • What exactly is InheritableThreadLocal Storage, and how exactly do I use it

What exactly is InheritableThreadLocal Storage, and how exactly do I use it?

What exactly is InheritableThreadLocal Storage, andI have only seen one previous use of ThreadLocal objects and it was somewhere on http://www.javaworld.com on a solution to the Java double-checked locking problem.
Roughly speaking, previously to Java1.2 you had two variable-type choices in Java. The first is a static variable that is the same across ALL instances of a class. The second was an instance variable, that is can be different in EVERY instance of a class. Java 1.2 introduced the ThreadLocal variable-type. If a variable type is ThreadLocal, then every running Thread may see a different value for the variable - essentially it is a Map of Threads to values.
InheritableThreadLocal is finely different from ThreadLocal. They are almost identical excepting that if one Thread is spawned from another (ie. it is a "child" thread) then the value of the InheritableThreadLocal variable will be the same in the child Thread as the parent Thread.
As to when it could be used, I'm not so sure (other than the no-brainer "when you want a variable to have different values in different Threads"). I'd be interested to hear about any instances where someone has used a variable such as this.

Basic troubleshooting steps outline in the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.  Try each of these in order until the problem is resolved.  If you've been through all these steps and the trouble persists, you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.  Be sure to make an appointment first at the Genius Bar so you won't have a long wait.

  • [SOLVED]How exactly are USB drives mounted?

When I plug in a USB drive, Cinnamon brings up the device in Nemo so I can see its files. The location it's mounted at is /run/media/<username>/<long string I assume to be a UUID>/. How is it that I can mount it again at another directory and use it from there? Also, when I unmount it from the second directory, is it already safe to remove it or do I need to unmount it from the first one as well?

That's the way I had it on my 8.04. I remember having to set that myself though.
xtraroot wrote:If it's mounted on more than one place, you'd have to unmount it in those places if you've done file transfers and want to make sure it's safe to remove. You only mentioned one place that it's mounted though?
I had it mounted at that default location and then I had mounted it onto ~/mnt (I recreated /mnt in my home directory)
tomk wrote:You seem to lack some understanding about your own system. If your USB devices are automounted when you plug them in, that's because you configured your system to do that. The fact that you are asking how that works should worry you IMO.
I never configured my system to do that. When I used Arch and XFCE, I don't remember USB drives being automatically mounted. I had to do it myself. Cinnamon apparently does it automatically. What I wanted to know was why, if it does it automatically, does mount not give me an error about trying to mount the same partition again in a different place.
    Thanks for your answers everybody.

  • I have a Kyocera boostmobile phone im cant get on the internet it says i have to many tabs open how exactly to go closr tabs on this kyocera boostmobile phone

Is it talking about Firefox, or other programs?
Try this; close '''ALL PROGRAMS''', then turn off the phone.
Open it and remove the battery. Leave it out for a slow count of 10.
Then put everything back together and try again.
'''''BUT''''', do not start anything but '''Firefox'''.

  • CISCO 881 how exactly identify IOS for installation.

    Dear All.
    Please clerify for me:
    1.I have a cisco router CISCO881-SEC-K9.
ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.4(22r)YB5, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
if I understood it correctly - 12.4(22r)YB5 - is my current IOS version.
2.I would like update my IOS and save all licenses which already installed.
    Questions:
1.How  how exactly identify IOS for installation, which release?
2.How to make installation and save installed licenses.
       any examples?

    Hi,
The command "show version" must show the ios version and licenses installed, if not try the command 'show license detail".
To save licence, example: "license save tftp:...."
Take a look on the following site, it may help:

  • UK Product Shipping - How exactly do they do it?

On Friday 15th I ordered a customised i7 MacBook Pro, and received the shipment confirmation email on Monday 18th.
Since Monday, I have looked at the order status a few times, and gone onto the "Track Order" page, where; under the "Tracking Number" section I was presented with something saying it will be updated shortly - no actual tracking number, the predicted delivery date is the 29th, so I want to know where they're delivering it from.
Royal Mail only take 4 days for international shipping to anywhere in the world, so why should this take so long when you're paying almost £2,000 for something.
Does anyone actually know the process of shipping that Apple use to ship to UK customers? Surely they send it via plane, what sort of plane is this? Or if you know otherwise please let me know!
    Thank you in anticipation.
