About to install iTunes, where should i move my music folder?

So i am about to install iTunes and wanted to know if i should move my music flder to a certain location/folder?
If i don't have to move my music folder then i am assuming that iTunes will find the folder and make copies of my music?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

You don't need to move anything. When you install iTunes it will create a number of default files and folders in default locations. The iTunes folder (which will contain the iTunes library files and the iTunes Music folder) will be created in C:\Username\Music in Windows Vista. When you install iTunes for the first time you'll be asked if you want the program to scan you computer for music files to add to the library or if you want to add them yourself: Adding Content to iTunes

A Folder "Apple Security_files" is on my desktop. where should I move it?

I have a powerbook G4 running OS X 10.4.6. I also have OS X 10.2.7 on an external hard drive. This is because my Epson perfection 3170 scanner will not work with 10.4 but did work with 10.2 and I'm trying (unsucessfully) to use it.
(But that is another topic) A folder named Apple Security_Files which has 13 gif files, 1 css file (default.css), and 5 png files (a.png thru a_005png) in it. I'm not sure if this folder came out of my 10.4 librays somewhere or my 10.2 library somewhere. It is the only folder with this name that spotlight finds on my system. WHERE SHOULD I MOVE IT TO TO GET IT OFF THE DESKTOP?

Not sure about the name "Apple Security_Files" - but here's a breakdown of the file formats you've noted:
gif = picture/image file
css = "style-sheet" for web page design
png = macromedia fireworks document
If I had to guess... this looks like some part of a web design project.

1. It means exactly what it says. Apple dropped support for earlier Mac OS X versions in iTunes 10.7.
2. Update the computer to 10.6.8. If it's running a Mac OS X version prior to 10.6, this requires buying a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store, which requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB of RAM.

You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year. It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you. However, I cannot get iTunes to sync my Outlook Calendar or Contacts with my iPod. When I try it crashes Outlook. iTunes continues to try to sync, but when it finishes my Calendar and Contents are empty (ERASED!). I have de-installed and re-installed iTunes (according to Apple's instructions), repaired Office 2013 and Outlook, scanned for viruses (etc), cleaned out temp folders, defragmented, etc., etc., etc. Has anyone seen this before, and does anyone know houw to fix it? Content acquired with an Apple ID is permanently tied to that ID.
There is no reason to create a new Apple ID, frankly that will just create more issues.
It is possible to load content from multiple Apple ID's onto a single device. If the content is in the computer that the device syncs with, simply select the content and sync it.

I assume you mean third party fonts you've added? If so, pretty much anywhere you want.
There are already three Fonts folders on the hard drive they're at:
/System/Library/Fonts/
/Library/Fonts/
~/Library/Fonts/
The first obviously belongs to the system. If you don't know what you're doing in that folder, leave it alone. The second is the Library you see when you double click the icon of the hard drive on your desktop. Any fonts in that folder can be used by any user account. The last refers to the Fonts folder of the active user. That is, whoever is logged in at the moment. Only that user can access fonts within their account.
It's not a good idea to activate hundreds, and especially not thousands of fonts at a time. They take up space in RAM when active. They more you have open, the less RAM is available for other apps. Long font lists in apps also very much slow down those menus.
I would create a folder for your fonts anywhere outside of the three locations I listed above. You can put is right at the root of the drive is you want, next to Applications, Users, etc. You can even call the folder Fonts if you want to. OS X will pay no attention to it, despite the name. It only automatically looks into the three main Fonts folders.
From there, you can activate fonts within that folder using Font Book, or any other third party font manager. If you're using Font Book, I strongly suggest using Library sets rather than normal sets. With the former, the fonts stay where they are (activated in place) rather than being copied into your user account (a waste of time and disk space).

I created the report object in my object navigator, selected the report filename and in my when button pressed I have the following

REP-0503 "You did not specify the name of a report".
Now I change the execution mode to runtime, and communication mode to asynchronous and I dont get the error, but the report does not come up either.

How do I move my music folder it into the iTunes folder?

Before I had an iPod all my music was in the My Music folder. When I started using an iPod and iTunes I left all my music in the My Music folder. I have been reading how to back up or move my music and I see my setup is not a good one.
I want to correct my setup by getting all my music into the iTunes folder. How do I do this the right way? Once I do this will all my music, art, play lists, and ratings be together so they all get backed up and/or can be move to an external drive?
My Music folder is about 60 gb and the free space on my hard drive is about 17 gb.

I would like to transfer my entire iTunes file from my old computer to my new computer. I have only been able to find information about transferring my music, but I would like to transfer my books, apps, etc. as well. Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide any information.

I, too, recently bought a new computer. I first copied the entire iTunes folder to an external hard drive. Once the new computer was set up, I installed iTunes, then first tried to "copy" the file from the external HDD to the new iTunes folder. Ended up with multiple duplicates (2,500+). I uninstalled iTunes, installed iTunes again, and tried "importing" from the external HDD iTunes folder. Again, multiple duplicates, album artwork didn't transfer, etc. Very frustrated! Help!

Installed itunes on new pc/lost downloaded music

I recently installed itunes on a laptop, I purchased a few songs, however, the laptop died on me yesterday.Needkess to say I lost the few songs I purchased.
I was given a new replacement laptop today, installed itunes once again and of course I am unable to find the music I downloaded, are they lost forever and shall I have to re-purchase them?

My Itunes has been installed in the my music folder (I have XP) and worked until about yesterday, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but Itunes won't open now because it says the ITunes folder cannot be located, and that it should be in its default location (my music), so it will not open. Any ideas on what I can do?

Well, do you care about your ratings and playcounts? If so, try the press & hold thing again but instead, choose an existing ITL file and pick the "normal" one in your default itunes folder. Although that one may be corrupted and hwy you got that error in the first place.
On XP it's
C:\Documents and Settings\ username \My Documents\My Music\iTunes
There might be an ITL file in a subfolder named Previous iTunes Libraries that you could use.
If you don't care about ratings & other metadata, sure, go ahead and rebuild your new blank library. From Win Explorer, just drag your top-level music folder over ito the itunes window.
You don't have to add things one-by-one, in other words.

ITunes not loading - "Unable to locate Music Folder"

Having huge problems - I decided to move all my iTunes purchases and music onto a portable device, changing the location path from the C:\ drive to H:\ drive. Since I carried this out - everytime I try and load iTunes I get this error message:-
"The folder "i Tunes" cannot be found or created, and is required.
The default location for this folder is inside the "Music" folder.
I have totally wiped the pc of iTunes, re-downloaded from iTunes website and re-installed everything but I am still having this error message appear!. I need help..............

Have had the same problem starting abruptly a few days ago without any new computer software or updates on a WIndows XP Media Edition computer. Troubleshooting including removing and reinstalling all Apple software did not work. Seemed to be a user - specific issue but the Apple provided trouble shooting removing preference files and plugins did not work. The same error message as above occurs.
I will try the SHIFT-OPEN iTUNES solution and see what happens. If the same error message recurs I will try to contact Apple directly.
