About to throw the MOBGo out the window

okay, had it with this board. I just got the 865PE-LS..it will sometimes post and sometimes won't go any further in powering up than me pressing the button..when i first installed the baord, the system did post and i was able to install the updates(used the MSI Live update utility)1st update was to the BIOS. Current Ver. 2.5 Biggest issue i see with the older Bios is the CPU temp reading too high, so this would make me think that the system would just shut down. I waited intil i got the pop up saying it is now safe to restart your computer.. did this.. proceeded to install other MSI updates and then my world went to pot.. the system would sometimes post in to windows, sometimes not, sometimes nothing at all.. tried a different proc (2.6), differnt PSU (just installed a New Out of Box ANtec 430 Tru Power) still giving me a problem.. the D-bracket is telling me that either my proc is toast or not seated correctly... reseated, checked, reseated. (wash, rinse, repeat...) I now have my 2.6 installed rather than my nice new 3.2 (Northwood).. so.. while i am writing this, the system is making a liar out of me and has posted... i ran the live update again... and am now re-installing the latest Bios 2.5).. all i can think of is that soething did not update correctly.. will ( can ) someone PLEASE help me..

Sorry aabout the DELL comment (yes i know they just slap the machines together)am just sooo fed up with this..Spent all this $$ and can't even use the machine. you helped me out a few weeks ago with the PLS board which ended up being bad. So i sent that back and now have this issue with the new board.. i am using the memory in my other PC, have been, and the other PC runs fine and sees all the memory (1.5 gig). I was also testing the machine with a vanilla FX 5200 and this issue was still ocuring. Have you ever heard of an issue where the 3.2 proc hold down bracket is placing too much pressure on the board and may be causing these symptoms? I ask because i simply set the proc and pplaced the cooling fin/fan on without completely snapping the levers in place and the PC posted and i was able to re-install the Bios update, but then all went to pot again and now have the other PC up and running.. thanks for your help, suggestions, direction and I apologize for the DELL comment. As you can see in my system build, i am a huge fan of MSI, just fed up at the moment with this issue.

HELP! I am about th throw this iPhone out the window!

I have had to restore my iPhone TWICE now with tech support guidence. I've has nothing but TROUBLE since both the 3.0 AND the iTunes update, and am BEYOND frustrated!!! I won't even go into all of what else went wrong previously, but now my photos will NOT show up in iTunes to sync on to phone. I have troubleshooted by reading on here...I've tried everything. Before all this trouble I had done it so I know it's not just me. The folders show, but they say 0 pictures.
Again I'm SO SO SO frustrated. A phone I LOVED and was thrilled with has been nothing but pure frustration since the 17th. Everything I do on it is nothing but a hassle and 2 hours of MY minutes with Apple techs!!! I ahve to admit I am in tears right now.
I hope I get some replies (!!!!) and thanks in advance... why will my photos not show up? Just empty folders???

OMG OMG I am so embarrassed....they DID go to the folder as PPSP files. I'm so sorry! Thank you though for taking your time on me. I will go change them all and see if that works. If not I promise i'll come back here before tossing the phone out the window Again I'm sorry...but hey, if it weren't for you I never would have checked. I don't know why it saved them like that!

Frustrated and about to throw my mp3 out the win

I just got a creative zen v (not plus), and am using a laptop with windows vista. i downloaded the software with no problems and when i check in my computer, it recognizes that the player is hooked up. however, when i try to use the software to add media or anything really, it asks me to connect but i AM connected. the problem is not the player as it works on my boyfriends desktop computer. im really frustrated. it seems that theres a lot of technical solutions that i dont understand, dont know how to do and seem pretty overwhelming. why is there not something i can just simply download to correct this? seems like a bit of an oversight on creative labs part, not to have this problem easily resolvable for vista users. im about ready to throw the thing out the window.
could someone please explain to me in english what is wrong with this thing and how i, a nontech savvy person can fix it, preferably in laymens terms? its useless to me at this point...

Ok bought a new 915p combo Motherboard and it posts and does all of that just fine.
However Now I cant get it to boot Xp. And yea I know what your going to say fresh install xp
but there is another glitch I cant even get it to run my harddrive utility disk or cd.

This might seem utterly, absurdly, stupidly obvious, but in my experience sometimes obvious solutions are the most difficult to arrive at. You say it wants to start back at the beginning after the first reboot: have you either taken the CD out of the drive or changed the boot order in then bios? About to throw ipod & laptop out the window

I received a ipod nano for Christmas and hate it already! I plugged it into my laptop that has Windows XP and got an error message stating I didn't have a high-speed USB port on my laptop. I tried both USB ports and have no idea how to get the error message to go away. All I want is songs, shouldn't that be easy enough?

To find out what USB you have, right click on 'My Computer' then click on 'Properties' then click on 'Hardware' then click on 'Device Manager' then click on 'Universal Serial Bus controllers'. If you see Enhanced Controller, then you should have USB 2.0. If not, you do not have it.

Thanks King_Penquin. Tried that. Turn on contacts, option to merge or cancel pop up. Merge throws back to home screen, cancel switches off contacts. Any more suggestions please. Opening contacts ( none in there ) on home page show blank book and switches off.

OK, so I have been surfing the net for help/solutions but to no avail...
When I try and burn a disk from itunes on to a blank disk i get the 2131 error which judging by the ammount i have seen written about it, is VERY common.
I am about to throw my laptop out of the window as I cant fix it and am have just spend my Christmas itunes vouchers on downloads!argggggggghhhhhhhh
My cd driver is SN-S082H ATA ???? please does anyone have any ideas what i can do??????

Linksys connection problems (ready to throw the thing out the window)

I own a G4 powerbook OSX 10.3.9. and use a WRT54G v5 router. Everything was working fine up until a week ago. Now, I am CONSTANTLY losing my connection and because of this, I have to reboot the router every day. Even then the signal only works for a few hours. I've upgraded to the latest firmware and that hasn't helped.
I'm at my wits end here and don't know what to do. It's so very frustrating. Can anyone make any suggestions? I'm seriously ready to throw my powerbook out the window.

So, what happened about a week ago? There has to be something that happened to cause this trouble. Did you have a freeze/crash? Hard shutdown? Kernel panic? Did you install something other than firmware? Any security updates?
Unless you have cleared your logs, you can look at your system logs (Console/logs/system.log and ppp logs (in Console/logs/var/log). you may find a hint as to what started occuring around the time of your troubles beginning.
It could be a DNS problem, and the following link has an in depth discussion and fixes, regarding such:

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

So i've been trying to update my portfolio and im ready to throw this printer out the window and probably never buy another HP product if someone cant help me fix this problem. Everytime i go to print whether its landscape or potrait it cuts the top of my photo off. This is a new problem, its never happened before up until now. Hello, In the printing App that you are using, there should be an setting option to select the Paper Type and Size. Make sure you got that settings changed to the type and size of paper you are wanting to print on. I am not sure if you are using the inbuilt app of Samsung to print or HP's ePrint & All in One Remote app . ? HP ePrint app is used for printing using.HP All in One Remote app is used for Scanning . Adobe Reader never converted Publisher files to PDF, for free, never. I suspect you use to have the (paid for) Adobe Acrobat. Sometimes people have Acrobat (more than $300 worth) and install Adobe Reader over the top, losing that valuable software.
That said, if you subscribed to PDF Pack it should do this conversion. What exactly happens now.

First time posting on the forums but it's gotten to the point where my phone isn't even usable and I either need some answers or a good excuse to smash it.
So here's the story:
I got my iPhone 3G (black, 16GB) in September (I think), last year. The phone operated fine with only minor annoyances as software updates came down to fix issues, no big deal. About 10 months in, the phone starts acting up:
If you want clarification on some problem, ask. I don’t want to type out 8 paragraphs if I don’t have to, should be pretty self-explanatory.
Before OS 3:
1.) Can’t slide to answer calls. After ringing stops phone behaves normally.
2.) Doesn’t charge from wall or computer (happened randomly). Plug phone in, it says it’s charging but never charges.
3.) Can’t end calls / call doesn’t end when other line is hung up (thanks for wasting my minutes).
(these problems persist even with hard resets and full restores, including setting the phone up as a new phone rather than restoring from a backup)
After OS 3 AND full restore:

(same as above, problems persist with hard resets and the like)
At any rate, I was home one weekend and figured I’d take the phone to the Genius bar at the Mayfair Mall Apple Store. Sounded like a good plan until I get to the mall and find the store is being renovated (seriously Apple, you can’t just put that on your site that a store is closed for some reason? Give me a break). Home is 3 hours away for me and the closest Apple store is 2.5 hours away. Awesome.
I deal with the problems for another month or so until my girlfriend and I take a trip to visit her friend in Minnesota. While there we go to the Mall of America so I decide to go to the Apple Store there (which is flappin’ giant, by the way). I explain my problems to the ‘Genius’ as well as informing him of the numerous restores/resets I’ve done both before and after the 3.0 update. He checks the phone for water damage and concludes that the headphone/dock ports are dusty which is causing the charging problem. I proceed to tell him I’ve cleaned them with compressed air before and the problems continued but he’s the ‘Genius’ so I let him do his thing and clean them again. Afterwards, he concludes (via the iPhone diagnostic software they have) that since I haven’t done a restore in about a month that I should do another one as that will likely remedy the problem. Right. Was he even listening when I explained that the problems happened before and after the 3.0 update or that I had on numerous occasions attempted to remedy the problem with hard resets and restores? Nope. My girlfriend over hears this (she is aware of the problems I was having and is a Apple-certified hardware technician at our local Mac store) and comes over to reiterate (albeit slightly more forcefully than I had initially) that the problems occur regardless of restore state or software version. The ‘Genius’ finally decides he can replace the phone after explaining to him that we are not anywhere near an Apple store and that there’s little time left in the warranty. I get my new phone set up and ready to go. Whew.
Everything is great. Phone works, no issues. Until ~2 months ago, new issues start cropping up.
OS 3.1+ (happen on all versions):
1.) Can’t sync, get “unable to complete. Phone was disconnected.” Error. (I checked around the forums and tried a few things but was unable to resolve the issue, including trying to remove the files that it kept ‘disconnecting’ on when it got to, no effect)
2.) Installing an application (be it via App Store on the phone or via sync with my desktop) results in the phone being unable to boot if turned off. When attempting to turn it back on, Apple logo shows then phone goes off after a few seconds. Only way to resolve this is by booting the phone directly to restore mode and doing a full restore.
3.) Earlier this week, my phone wouldn’t boot after having no apps (0, zero, zip, nada) on it after restoring it a few weeks back. Apple logo showed up then the spinning loading animation overlaid on the logo only to freeze. Attempted booting again and it came on (whew).
4.) Today, my phone wouldn’t boot at all, again, no apps are on or have been on the phone since I last restored it. Tried turning it off/on a few times, no good. I ended up restoring the phone again.
At first, my girlfriend was convinced that it was because I was synching with my desktop PC (obviously, blame it on the PC first), which I’ve been using since I got the phone and everything was fine until both phones randomly decided to crap out. I ended up restoring it on my MacBook Pro as a new phone just to see but the same thing happens with the apps causing it to not boot. After that we thought that it might be a single (or a few) apps that were just taking the phone down for some reason. I restored the phone with no apps and it seemed to be ok so I put 3 apps that I’ve had pretty much since they were available (and used to work without issue) back on to see. The plan was to add a few apps until the phone stopped working properly to narrow down the offending app. Just kidding! Just having those 3 apps (Beejive IM, Facebook, iDracula) causes the phone to not boot. I restore and try just Facebook. Same thing, phone doesn’t boot. Restore, try just Beejive. Same thing, phone won’t boot. By the way, the phone doesn’t boot even without me having LAUNCHED THE APPS AT ALL. Just by being on my phone it’s totally hosed.
At this point I have no idea what to do. I want to like my iPhone again but it’s terribly worthless when I have to restore it every other day and can’t use my ~$90 worth of apps (PS: even Apple’s own ‘Remote’ app brings the phone down). I really, really hate to say it but my old HTC Hermes (Windows Mobile 5/6) PDA phone was better than this (and WinMo is god-awful).
Does anyone have any suggestions? My phone is out of warranty now and I don’t have money to buy another phone even if I wanted to.
Also, I treat my phone like a baby. It hasn't been dropped a single time, been near water, or operated outside of the safe operating temp guidlines.
I'm willing to elaborate on any of the information I provided above, just let me know.

After the restore did the phone work properly for a while? Say, a day or so?
If so it is possible you have an app that doesn't let go of memory properly. I reboot my iPhone ( hold sleep/wake and hole till you see the apple logo) every few days. This resets the memory. The iPhone OS has doesn't seem to mange memory very well yet. So a reboot will help with that. I have had my phone almost slow to a stop before I started rebooting. Always reboot after installing a new app. Also do you close all pages in Safari when you are done? This is a good practice. Safari will run in the background and use processor time and drain your battery quicker. Create a new blank page then close all others when you are done browsing for a while. I have also found that certain web site that have animated images like weather maps will turn the phone into molasses. As soon as i close that page it gets faster.
If all of the above have no effect then as Tamara said it is time for a trip to the Genius bar.

You probably should throw it out the window because you bought an iPod Shuffle (joke). Anyways, make sure your you iPod switch is in put in the "Play in Order position (2nd out of the 3). You may want to look at iPod Shuffle Tutorial. If that doesn't work, try resetting it (Knowledge Base Document #300595 on Resetting iPod shuffle.

I am going to throw this machine out the window! STATIC!

This static is driving me CRAZY! A little background on what is going on: I am using 2 USB microphones to record a podcast (30Something Podcast). I have recorded 11 shows without any issues on my Macbook Pro and now I am getting static on ONE of the microphones. There is not static all the time, and I have yet to see a pattern on when it happens. I thought it was due to the 10.5.2 update, so I completely wipped my machine and reinstalled leopard with 10.5.1, not 10.5.2 and reinstalled iLife08. I think I did the update to Garageband 4.1.1 after the fresh install. Set everything up again, and about 22 min into the show, static happened. Again, this is on a totally fresh machine. If I restart it, it goes away. The only thing I saw that was weird was after a while during recording, the Garageband counter (the timer) seems to come down to a crawl even though the vocals seemed to be recording. It was like the entire machine was slowing down, but nothing else was running. Again, I have recorded fine a bunch of other times without issue or changes on the machine. I looked and there are no drivers for the logitech 250 headphones, so I am at a total loss at this point. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Many usb and firewire interfaces have had some static and audio out problems with os x updates. I have a Alesis Firewire Multimix and a M-Audio BlackBox that have between the two have experienced pretty much all the problems. I e-mailed both manufactures during these problems and they told me that they were working hard on fixes but as soon as they put up a fix Apple made more changes. They said apple was aware of the problems but need to make changes. I bought a Presonus Inspire because it was reported to work flawlessly "hardly" but it did work.
To make a long story endless in the past few months Alesis and M-Audio and Apple pushed updates that totally fixed my problems. Best thing to do is contact M-Audio with your Mac's specs and os version and see if they have or are working on a fix.
