Just so you know. It has already screen protector. And the triangle thing you're talking about is just the tip the stock screen protector. A convenient tip when you gonna peel it of.

  • Yoga 13 - Touch-screen swipe gestures CONSISTENTLY don't work first time

This is a consistent and very repeatable issue that I would really like to be resolved, and I know that it can be resolved.
Whenever I do a gesture from the side after not touching the screen for more than 4 seconds, it doesn't work. It instead registers it as a swipe on the screen near the edge. This is very annoying. It happens constantly.
I suspect this may be the result of a power-saving feature. Maybe the touch-screen turns off after a few seconds and needs to be awoken by tapping it before swiping in from the side. If this is the case, then please up the timer from 3 or 4 seconds to more like 30 or 60. This ruins the smooth flow of Windows 8, and I would really appreciate it if someone did something about it! The other problem with this is that if I'm watching a video full-screen in IE and it registers taps of the screen as a pause command, I can't open up the start menu or dock the app to the side without first pausing the video.
This is a significant driver problem that David Pierce brings up in his review of the product here, and it still hasn't been revolved after all this time.
Do I need to update drivers? I apologise if there's an update that I'm missing, but I didn't even see an appropriate driver on the driver page. None of them said anything about touch-screen.
I'm not even sure if developers read this forum, but could my fellow users at least tell me if they have the same problem.
    Thanks,
    Michael
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

My Touch screen was also not very responsive and I did the below to fix it.
    1) Go to Device Manager
    2) Expand Human Interface Devices
    3) Double click on the last USB input device listed
    4) navigate to power management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
This should fix the issue for the touch screen becoming unresponsive.

  • Brand New Carbon X1 loses Touch Screen function!!!!

    Hi there
I just purchased Carbon X1 touch screen version for less than a week and all of a sudden I found out the touch screen was not working any more.
I checked the system property and it shows "No pen or touch input is available for this display". That's totally wierd because when the time I received this product it worked very well.
I also checked the device manager. It shows "
Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.
I tried almost every method mentioned about touch screen malfunction and none of them worked. I even refresh this laptop and this issue still exists.
Could some one here help me figure out this problem? I don't want send my laptop back to lenovo because I just purchased for less than one week and I'm really need it now.

Can someone tell me if this is not under warranty?

  • Problem push and hold on a Surface Pro tablet's touch screen

    Hi,
I tried posting this before, but I can't find my origional post so I hope I'm not spamming accidentally.
I have a problem with my program on a Windows 8.1 Surface Pro tablet. I programmed a button to be 'push-and-hold', but when I touch the tablet nothing happens until I release my finger. This briefly controls the button. When I connect a USB mouse to the tablet, it responds normally; when I press the left mouse button: the button in my program goes down until I release the mouse button. I tried about every setting in the Touch section of the Windows control panel without any succes.
    Does anyone have a suggestion?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Why did my brand new Ipod 5g 32gb touch screen stop working?

So I got this ipod from the Genius Shop for about a month. A few days ago when IOS 7.1 came out, I updated it. However, the ipod seems to lag a little. Today, I was charging my ipod and for some reason, when I turn it on, the touch screen stop working (the ipod is in perfect condition). The home button, volume button and the on/off button all works fine except for the touch screen. I want to restore everything on my computer, but I can't get pass the lock screen (the touch screen seems to stop working). I just can't do anything on this ipod anymore beside turning it on and off. I can't even power it off because the touch screen is no longer touchable. So how can I restore everything, or do something about this ipod to work again. Can I still take this back to the Genius Shop and get another one without additonal charge?

If the reset does not work try the remaining items of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HP Spectre 13 touch screen malfunction

The touchscreen on my Ultrabook malfunctions in a seemingly random fashion.
It appears to randomly and independently trigger the touchscreen in a clearly visible vertical line about two thirds of the way across the screen.
The screen reacts as if it has been touched with a finger - but it has not.
Because these 'ghost' touches are so rapid, it completely trashes whatever I am trying to do at the time as the cursor moves to these random locations and it triggers the opening of mutliple additional webpages, changes to font sizes and screen resolution and prevents me from useing the mouse to try and close down webpages etc.  The touchscreen malfunction is visible in all applications.
The only way to stop it is to press the power button until the laptop switches off.
I am not aware of a definite trigger, although at times I may have been trying to click on something with the mouse in the area where this 'flaw' appears to be located.
When I first got the laptop I thought it was some really grim virus and spent ages running and re-running scans,until I made the connection with the touch screen.
Then I wondered if it was something to do with particles or dust and spent ages cleaning the screen - but it happens when there is no visible contamination on the screen at all.
    Has anyone else experience this?

    Hi @Abby501
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are having some trouble with your touchscreen. I am happy to assist.
It is hard to know, as yet, what the actual problem is: sensitivity, drivers, hardware, other software, etc. Please post the full product number. See the following, if you need help in finding that.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
For now, you can see if you can try to adjust the touchscreen settings and see if it helps:
Press the Windows key which brings up the Start Screen
    type "touch screen"
    Click Settings
Select  "Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input"
    Select and configure as desired
Let me know if that helped.

  • How do I turn off the tiny Shuffle-sized iPod Nano (v6 with a touch screen) when not using its iOS?

    Hello and happy new year.
I decided to use this used iPod Nano (touch screen) as an eight/8 GB flash disk/storage (FAT32). I can access the files just fine. I can always restore it back to use iOS quickly and easily if needed.
However, it never seems to turn off/sleep. I tried holding down the big button on top right (next to the two volume controls [+ and -]), but it never does anything. Also, it says "OK to disconnect." when disconnected.
So, I restored its iOS v1.2 from an old 15" MacBook Pro (2008; Mac OS X 10.5.8) onto it and can turn off easily. However, I cannot access its drive since it is not a MS FS and Windows XP Pro. SP3 asked me to format. How can I turn it off and still use it as an 8 GB USB flash disk/drive without installing and using iTunes?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hey,
Holding in the play/pause and the menu (select) button will force the iPod into disk mode. This is the stand by mode you are talking about.
To turn your iPod off properly you will want to hold down the play/pause button until the screen goes blank and then turn the hold switch on. This is cause the iPod to go to the Apple screen when it turns back on.
    Hope this helps,
    Ms D.

  • Press and hold on a Surface pro touch screen

    Hi,
I am having some problems with my Surface Pro, trying to control a relay 'press-and-hold'. When I connect a mouse to the Tablet, Windows registers the left mouse up and down events perfectly, allowing the user to control the relay exactly the way I intended, but when I use the touch screen with either the stylus pen or my finger it only seems to press the LabVIEW on release.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
    Chris

    Jeff-P wrote:
I just tested this on my touchscreen laptop and got a similar behavior. Windows doesn't seem to be registering the left click when you touch the screen until you release. My guess is that this is related to the press+hold for right click functionality on Windows. When I touch and hold for over a second, I get a right click, but when I touch and hold for a shorter time, I get a left click that only registers when I take my finger off. This is consistent with the way that the Windows UI handles touch as well (test the start button for an example).
Interestingly, if I change the mechanical action of the LabVIEW boolean to 'Switch Unit Released' I can't actually toggle the button ever because the press and hold does not register as a left click, and eventually registers as a right click.

Actually, this is expected behavior.  Try clicking a button on any Windows app, then, while holding down the button, move off of it.  The button does not register as pressed.  This feature has saved me any number of times.
    edit:
Or do you mean it doesn't even depress the button?

  • My iPhone 4s touch screen will not work with an active SIM card in it.

A few months ago my touch screen stopped working suddenly on my iPhone 4s. After I removed my active SIM card from the 4s, the touch screen started working again. As soon as I put my SIM card in again, it stopped working. I finally broke down and took it into a store where they replaced the screen. It started working again for about 5 days. Then this morning it just quit working again. I have restarted it and reset it. All of the software was up to date when it stopped working, so I haven't done anything with that. Could someone please help me with this? It's getting a little frustrating.

  • X1 Carbon Touch Gen2 (20A7005UMN) - touch screen stopped responding

    Hi,
I have the Lenovo X1 Carbon Touch, new as of april 2014, and since last week, the touch screen has stopped responding to touch inputs. Before this it has been working and behaving perfectly.
I have tried to turn the laptop entirely off and on, reboots... No effect. The screen simply acts like it never was touch.
The HID driver is present and claims to be working. I tried to reinstall it and it does so with no errors or warnings. I also tried to reinstall the monitor and graphics card drivers. The Tablet control panel icon offers a calibrate option but Reset is disabled. The calibrate doesn't help because it doesn't respond to touch.
System says it has touch with 10 finger inputs.
Windows 8.1 Update 1, Enterprise SKU
    Any advice is welcome.
UPDATE! Touch works when I lay the screen out flat. But if I return it to any angle, it stops working. Is this related to LayFlat mode or is there a connection fault in the display for touch input so only when I lay it flat it has contact?
    Software or hardware?

I have kept checking on statements from Lenovo about the Thinkpad X1 Carbon for 7 months now, and I have not seen any indication of plans to change the keyboard. I have heard numerous complaints first hand about the keyboard, and the tens of reviews that I have read from around the world the last half year, there is doubt to outright irritation about the 2014 X1 Carbons keyboard and touchpad (the further specs of the 2014 X1 Carbon are of Rolls Royce impression, but because of the ruined keyboard and erroneous touchpad, we have decided not to consider the X1 Carbon further.
    Observations:
Professionals want a large number of direct, true and tactile keys in traditional locations for efficient work. Lenovo has moved away from this fact by taking away keys, creating a touch strip while there is a touch screen already on it, and by changing the position of essential keys or removing them completely to be replaced by non-intuitive key combinations. The Red Dot award was truely earned for the weight and looks of the screen and case, but the keyboard is the weak link that makes the chain weak. Lenovo, Lenovo, Lenovo, what have you done?

  • X1 20A7 Win8.1 Pro - touch screen not working

    Hi,
just got my new X1 Carbon TS (i7 4450U, 8Gbyte) with Windows 8.1Pro. Unfortunatly I cannot get the touch running and ran out of ideas. I have searched all the forums but could not find a solution. The only workaround that works is the one  to remove the touch USB Input device after startup and re-scan the HW. After that the touch works fine. Clearly seems to be a driver issue.
Is there any solution for this issue out there or am I the only one facing this kind of problem ?
    Any help appreciated !
    Cheers

Allow me to throw my hat into this ring as I have a user with the same issue and the same PC. Occasionally, about once a day his touchpad and touchscreen stop working. He has a 2nd Gen X1 Carbon 20A7 with Win 8.1 Ent. I have done two things thus far but do not know if it will alleviate the problem.
-Stopped and disabled the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service
-Located the HID Touch Screen Driver in the Device Manager and unchecked the box in the Power Management Tab that would allow Windows to turn the device off.
Unless someone has a better idea of where to check this is all I have.

  • I have an ipod touch 3rd generation and the whole touch screen is not working.

I have a 32gb ipod which I bought for fifty dollars and when i bought it had a pretty baddly cracked screen but thing is it worked fine. Every part of the screen worked fine; it was as senstive where the screen was cracked as the areas of the screen that were not cracked. I dropped it a couple times from like two or three feet on two a hard wood floor about four times all it did was make the cracks on the screen a little worse. Then one day I dropped it from about a foot and now the whole touch screen is not working does anyone know why this is. They told me at the ipod store to get a new one would be 130 to trade mine in. But the thing is I very mechanically inclined and I am very good with electrionics; I was planing on buying the glass for fifty bucks and putting it on myself because I read how to do it and I am more then capapble of doing it. But now since the touch screen is now working; do I need a new screen along with a new glass? See the thing is because I think both those part cost 120 together. Which would not be worth me doing that when I can go to the ipod store and they would trade me a new one for 130 bucks. But the issue is, they told me at the ipod store they would have to look and see how damaged the ipod is to see if they will exchange it. My screen is severly cracked; also I have a dent that is a half inch long and 1/8th inch deep in the back of my ipod and its very scracthed up; do you thing an ipod store would exchange it in the condition it is in. Also has anybody had this problem before and I was wondering if it would be possible for me to take it apart and fix it my self without buying any new parts.

If I were you, I would pay the $130 for a replacement. Then you can be sure that it has all the working parts it needs.
