HP laptop, Windows XP, FF 4.0. Don't remember changing any add ons or version of FF when the issue started. Sometimes when I opened a new page off a web site the back button works and I can go back to the home page, sometimes it does not work. This is totally random. I use multiple tabs for news sources and this issue is not associated with a particular site. Short of uninstall and reinstall, loosing all my add ins and features, I don't know how to fix this. I have been using FF for years on this computer. This bug just started a couple of weeks prior to FF 4.0 coming out.

Do you have the McAfee Site Advisor, that one is known to cause problems with the back button. If you have it try disabling it and the back button should function normally.

If you had just done it, the advice would have been to shut it off and put it in a bowl or bag of uncooked rice or silica gel for a week. Unfortunately, since it's been powered on for several hours, since then, it may have been permanently damaged. You can try the rice trick, but be prepared to pay for a replacement at some point down the road.

I tried resetting the Time Capsule and connecting with an ethernet cable, although the Ariport Utility says everything is working fine through WiFi.

If the light will not turn on the TC is dead. No matter that the hard disk is running.. it should only run at start up or when it is accessed not constantly.. that means the board in the TC has failed. Apple do not repair them.. They will replace it under warranty or applecare.
If you have gone over the 12month warranty it will still be covered if you have applecare on any computer or an Apple TV. In fact the cost of the apple TV plus apple care is still cheaper than buying a new TC.. so it is a route some people are taking.. certainly depends.. in some places like Europe or Australia now, there is a recognition that statutory warranty must be longer on a product that is premium to the market. 12months is not good enough. Apple will sometimes listen.

I hate to say this, but unless you are paying the 25 bucks you cannot back up your library to the cloud.
All you can do is back up the items you "purchased" from Apple.

Backup in case your disk is failing.

If it boots reliably in Safe Mode then it is probably a software issue.
Reset PRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
Boot in Recovery Mode. (Hold down the Command (⌘) and R keys as your computer restarts.) Run Disk Utility. Click on the upper left system disk icon. Does S.M.A.R.T. report “Verified”? If not the disk is failing and will need to be replaced. Click on the icon underneath and indented to the right, usually called “Macintosh HD”. Repair Disk. It should finish normally with a green OK message. If it does not try to repair it again.
If it will not finish with the green OK message then use Disk Utility to erase the drive and then reinstall OS X. (Be sure you have a backup before erasing the disk. Post back if you need instructions on how to do that.)
If it repaired all errors and is still not booting normally, reinstall OS X.
If it is still sick after all these steps then the disk probably needs to be replaced. You can do that inexpensively and fairly easily yourself or take it to an Apple store for them to do it for you at a higher cost. If it is still under warranty or AppleCare have Apple do it for you for free. Post back if you need instructions on replacing the disk. You may want to have Apple check the health of the system and disk before replacing it yourself.

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

The back button stopped working. I can still use the keyboard substitute though. I have tried deleting places.sqlite and resetting some of the settings people suggested in config:about. Nothing has worked.

You can try a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.

When using Earthlink email I cannot reply to a message. I could for the first 6 months I used it but about 6 weeks ago the problem arose. How do I fix it?

I use email through a site called TheGrid.net which is a part of Earthlink.net. It worked fine with Firefox till about six weeks ago. Now when I am looking at an email message when I hit Reply or when I try to write a message, it won't let me. It brings up two blank boxes below the message heading. It won't let me enter data in the first box and when I type in the second box, which it will let me do, it will not accept it when I hit Send.
I suspect you did an automatic update to Firefox when the problem arose. Can you help? Thank you.

Hi, I got my xperia z3 about a month ago and style cover justa few days after. It was working great at first but since last week it has stopped, it no longer minimses the screen when I shut the lid. The phone must regocnise style cover is there however as when my phone is in stand by and I pen the screen, it goes to the lock screen. However, when in a phone call and I close the lid, the smart cover creates a mini window but doesn't do this under any other circumstance. I am not in stamina mode, my antivirus is turned off, I have linked the cover to the phone (as it was working of course). And when I turn style cover off, and back on, the first time I try to use it I get the 'unfortunately, style cover has stopped working' message.

The "Clear Recent History" setting under "Tools" suddenly stopped working about two weeks ago and is still not working with version 8.0. I am running Mac OX 10.6.8 on a desktop

Until a couple of weeks ago I could clear my history under the "Tools" setting.
Now the only way I am able to clear history is to open the history, select all, and then delete---all manually.

I did restart in Safe Mode; however, I DID make change in the Safe Mode restart window, resetting to defaults.
Not only did this not help, but now it is worse, as my history won't show up when I click "Show All History" so I am unable to clear history even manually.
Did I misunderstand your suggestion? I've been using Firefox with various versions of OX 10 for years w/o such a problem, and now have so many bookmarks on Firefox that I hate to abandon the browser.
However, I do not wish to have a permanent, unclearable history.

Iphone 5 brought in uk two weeks ago - no 4g lte button

On my iphone 5 that i purchased from uk and shipped to Dubai. I am unable to see the 4g lte button under the Settings- General -Cellular ON.
All i see is the enable 3g button, cellular data, data roaming and personal hotspot. Does this imply that my 4g is no activated on my handset or do i need to do something. When i activated my sim card in uae, i had to punch the sim card from micro to nano , the sim card works successfully but i cannot see the 4g lte network button on my iphone 5 device. Is this a problem with my handset my new iphone 5 or the sim card? any suggestions would be great

In the UK, they will be charging additional for LTE - this could be why you need to get a nano sim as your carrier needs to know that you have a 4G device so they can charge accordingly for it.
The enable LTE button will only be present if the carrier is offering LTE - the Etisalat announcement doesnt indicate whether or not it is live. However, your existing SIM card is most likely only a 3G SIM which means it is not set up to be 4G capable.
If Etisalat are live with 4G I would imagine a nano Sim would fix your problems, however if they dont sell iphone 5 yet, you may have issues getting a nano sim? The button is all down to your carrier and not down to apple, there are various features that the carrier set up themselves in relation to buttons and so on.
What usually happens in the UK is when new features are available - say 4G for example, an SMS is receeived by the carrier, you switch your phone off and on and then the Enable 4G button would be available. This is most likely what will happen with Vodafone and o2.
