Just transfer them from iTunes.
If they are not in iTunes. connect the iPod, then File > Devices > Transfer purchases.
Then connect the iPhone and sync these songs.

how do i find my files? its supposed to be under a new account but the apple store made these accounts and i cant log into them bc they have a password

Drag that account's home folder to your current account's desktop and provide an administrator password. If you don't know any administrator passwords on that system, ask the Apple Store.

Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

Open System Preferences using the menu item " > System Preferences" then select the "Security & Privacy" pane.  selec the "Location Services" on the left and enable using the checkbox:
Just noticed you details show you are running OS X 10.7.5 so I am not sure this is exactly correct.

  • How do I transfer my libary from my old pc to my new one and my ipod use it

I am changing pc's and as a back up had burned and backed up all of my songs on 4 dvds. One dvd was just songs I purchased from itunes, it copied fine to my new pc. Now the rest will not copy at all and in fact it shows that there is no songs at all on the dvd. I know this worked in the past when I reformated my hard drive on my old pc and used the same disks. Problem is I have over 9,000 songs adn dont want to spend forever putting my cds in and my old pc no longer burn dvds. Is this something ituns has done? How do I place my library onto my new pc so my ipod will accept the songs?? I tried a memory stick and it will move the songs but not put them on my ipod. I just want my music back!
    hp   Windows XP

SOunds like you got a couple of problems here. First if the DVD's don't copy then something may be wrong with the DVDs - or the new pc isn't reading those DVDs. Even though it worked on your old pc something may have gone wrong after the last time you copied those DVDs. THis has nothing to do with iTunes. From what I understand DVDs can be complicated with those plus and minuses and stuff. Many times one DVD works fine on one system but another system does not even recognize it. They're too many different kinds of dvds.
Second, after you copy the songs to your new pc, you have to add those files to your library. If you are installing iTunes for the first time on the new pc you need to tell iTunes that your library is the folder where you have copied the songs from your DVDs. But if you didn't do that then the next thing is to use Add Folder to Library from the menu in iTunes.
But remember that when you use this option iTunes will copy the music for example if you have already copied say 5GB of music to your hard drive in Folder A. Then you say add folder A to library, iTunes will copy Folder A to your library so you need an extra 5GB of space on your hard drive. ONce you see your music in the iTunes main page you're all set.

  • How to get songs from my old ipod to my new hard drive then to my new ipod?

Recently my computer crash and in order to fix it I had to get a new hard drive which means all my songs' files is gone! I had over 2,000! So I was wondering if there is a way in which I can take all the songs from my ipod and transfer it back to my computer now that it is fixed?? Also, my situation is a bit more complex because I am planning to get a newer ipod.
My old one is a ipod photo (I believe it is the 4th generation) and I am getting the 5th generation ipod video. Is there a way where I can transfer my songs from my old ipod back to my computer or itunes first then plug in my new one so it can update my old songs from my old ipod and my new songs' files in my computer all into my new ipod.
I reinstall itunes because I still use the program to listen to new songs that I have on my computer so I don't know if this information is useful or make things more confusing. I don't know if I should delete this version itune and reinstall the disk that comes with the ipod video? Or is it the same itunes version?
I really need help here I'm so confused on what to do and I am afraid of plugging my ipod in because it would update to my new song on my computer and delete all my old 2,000 songs from my ipod that I do not have backup files too because my old hard drive crash!
Any suggestions, advises, or comments are appreciate!

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod.
The transfer of content sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

My itunes library was on my PC.  About two years ago I switched it to my Seagate server/hardrive. (itunes-preferences-advanced-change library). Last summer (2012) I bought a macbook, which seems to access the seagate server hard drive fine for word docs, excel spreadsheets, etc. It also seems to have started its own library which is not complete. My PC died this summer (I still have it though).
Now when syncing any of the multiple devices (ipods, ipads, iphones) that we have with my mac book, itunes states that "an error occurred" or the "app cannot be found".  Itunes wants me to erase the device and sync with my macbook. The message "The iPhone “Renee’s iPhone” is synced with another iTunes library on “Renee PC”. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."appears.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You can't copy directly from one iPod to another. If the songs on the old one aren't in iTunes you need to copy them back and update the new one from there. I would like to copy all the songs from one Ipod into another. All the songs are into my Itunes account, I tried to drag and drop the songs from the old Ipod to the new one but it doesn't work. Is there a way to do it ?
I share one Itunes account with other people from my family and one person would like to keep the same songs on the new Ipod as the ones which were on the old one.
Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Hello Chris,
Thanks for your answer. I was hoping for an easier answer. Too bad there is no drag and drop solution, it would have been much easier.
    Thanks for answering so fast.
