About user exit

Hi Gurus,
I have one query.I want to do the validation for the field SORT2 in XD01,XD02 for that I am using exit EXIT_SAPMF02D_001
& BADI CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA but its not working properly as in import parameter of FM structures don't have SORT2 field ? can anybody suggest any BADI or some other user exit ?

Hi,
you can't find the field SORT2 in the exit EXIT_SAPMF02D_001 & BADI CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA , because these exits are not correct for your issue.
SORT2 is a field of the table ADRP of the Central Address Management.
The address validation routines are the following:
Enhancements:
SZRS0003 Address check - Interface to external providers
BAdIs:
ADDRESS_CHECK Business Address Services
but I cannot see the right one that fits your issue.
In my opinion a [field exit|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/Field+exits] on the Field/Data Elemnt SORT2 could be a good chance.

Hi Nanda,
Welcome to SDN,
Userxits allow us to add our own functionality to SAP standard program
without modifying it . These are implemented in the form of subroutines and hence are also known as FORM EXITs. The userexits are generally collected in includes and attached to the standard program by the SAP.
User exits are used when the flow for a particular transaction has to take some other route other then the normal flow. this can be the case when you have to attach some additional functionality lik u need a customised screen, or new functionality (using a functional module). based on these things user exits can be classified as screen exits, function module exits, field exits( not used anymore). hope this gives some help on userexits.
The naming standard of function modules for functionmodule exits is:
EXIT_<program name><3 digit suffix>
The call to a functionmodule exit is implemented as:
CALL CUSTOMER.-FUNCTION <3 digit suffix>
To find a Exit.
Goto Transaction -- Find The Package
SMOD >f4>Use the Package here to Find the Exits In the Package.
Else if you Want to search by Application Area wise ,
There is one more tab to find the Exits in the Respective Application Area.
Implementing the Exit-- CMOD Create ProjectsAssgn your Component .
Now Run ur Transaction to Check if it Triggers.

1)for example user when ever executes his report he wants only for current date by default
then u create the user exit variable on 0calday example as 'zcedate'
then go to the tcode CMOD here create the project then go to the Exit_saplrrso_001
here u can insert the code like as below
when 'zcedate'.
clear l_s_range.
l_s_range-sign = 'i'.
l_s_range-option = 'eq'.(if it is between two dates then l_s_range-option = 'bt')
l_s_range-low = sy-datum(if it is range l_s_range-low = 'may be any date or by using sy-datum - )
append l_s_range to e_t_range.
like this we can start and write for month to date and week to date by using the FM week_get_first_day and dat_get week
and for year to date by using the FM first_and_last_day_in_year_get

There are enhancements CNEX0006 PS customer specific fields project definition and CNEX0007 for WBS, these enhancement contain sub-screens for specific/customer fields.
You could use this enhancement to
- Put the button in sub-screen to display your URL
or
- Intercept the function-key "+CUD" to display your URL, then you have to "by-pass" the subscreen (or best, display the url in the sub-screen)

I guess it would be very hard for anyone to provide you with full details of user exit, as its a very open ended qns. Anyways just a few things, a user exist is a enhancement to SAP std program where-in you can add-in your custom logic to enhance the program to meet your specific needs. There are loads of user exits, so to check the one which meets your need, go to SMOD, click F4 & you should find SAP applications, click on that & then branch into the one which meets your specific need.
Now once you know which exit to use, go to CMOD & you need to create a project for this User-exit & activate the implementation. This is done by the technical person, so from your end, you would need to specify the logic which you would need.

I have made a debugging, but i do not understand, why this program runs 3 time with I_STEP from 0 to 3. In fact I need only the data with I_STEP = 2.
Addtionally i want to know if the tabel e_t_range will provide the returned value (ZODD1) ?

IF yes, in I_STEP = 2 e_t_range save the right value for ZODD1. But this program run one time again--- I_STEP=3, at this time e_t_range hat not any value, that means if i will not get the value for ZODD1?

ABAP Objects available in a USER-EXIT

Dear Sir,
I am very new to ABAP / User-Exit . To learn about User-Exit , I was refereing one tutorial related to USER-EXIT implementation in VL01 (form userexit_save_document_prepare) .
Sir , in this sample User-Exit , author is referring ABAP Objects like : xlips-lgort / xlips-matnr etc .
Sir , my query is that how can we know that which objects are available which can be used in a User-EXIT . How a new user like me will come to know that object xlips-lgort can be used in this User-Exit .

Hi,
A user exit is similar to an function module. The difference is you can write your own piece of code in a user exit to fulfill your requirements. If you look into the IMPORT parameters of the User Exit all these variable in the IMPORT are inputs to your exit. All the variables in the EXPORT parameters are the ones that can be sent out of the exit. You can change all the variables that are present in bothe IMPORT and EXPORT parameters. Ex: If i have V_data in IMPORT as well as EXPORT then i can change the value of V_DATA from 1 to 2 and pass it to next step in the standard program.
Also you have TABLES in user exit. These can be inputs and output parameters. For example i can enter a few records in the tables parameter IT_TAB in one of the exits and change these records inside the USer Exit include and export the same to the next step in the standard transaction.

Need help in finding tcode - in user exits

hi experts
in user exits, i can find many exits name using SPRO or SMOD. and by this i can find the package also.
my question is how to know where these exits are exactly used, ie., in which transaction these exits are used.
is there any way to find out the tcode, if we know exit name.

User exits (Function module exits) are exits developed by SAP. The exit is implementerd as a call to a function module. The code for the function module is written by the developer. You are not writing the code directly in the function module, but in the include that is implemented in the function module.

4. Execute Tcode SE84.
5. Open the Node 'Envir. -> Exit Techniques -> 'Customer Exits -> Enhancements'
6. Enter the Development class and execute.

4) Choose the attribute tab. Specify short desc for badi.. and specify the type :

User exits (Function module exits) are exits developed by SAP. The exit is implementerd as a call to a function module. The code for the function module is written by the developer. You are not writing the code directly in the function module, but in the include that is implemented in the function module.
The naming standard of function modules for functionmodule exits is:
EXIT_<program name><3 digit suffix>
The call to a functionmodule exit is implemented as:
CALL CUSTOMER.-FUNCTION <3 digit suffix>

SMOD >f4>Use the Package here to Find the Exits In the Package.
Else if you Want to search by Application Area wise ,
There is one more tab to find the Exits in the Respective Application Area.
Implementing the Exit-- CMOD Create ProjectsAssgn your Component .
Now Run ur Transaction to Check if it Triggers.

1. Execute the Tcode.
2. Open the SAP program.
3. Get the Development Class.
4. Execute Tcode SE84.
5. Open the Node 'Envir. -> Exit Techniques -> 'Customer Exits -> Enhancements'
6. Enter the Development class and execute.

6. Create a project in CMOD and the code in default include->activate.

User Exit for F-92 transaction!

I hope you all fine!
I hope you guys could help me with this. This is about user exit, I need one for the transaction F-92, when the user wants to sale a fixed asset I need to catch the fixed asset number to validate it, but I don't know if I'm doing something wrong with this user exits that I found here in the forum none of them stops when a type a break-point sentence.

Thanks for your reply, I also tried as you told me to use the transaction OB28, but I'm having some problems to understand how to use it. I found this documentation to create a user exit, here is the link:

I followed the steps that it says, but the functional consultant can't see the new user exit that I'm trying to use.
I hope somebody could help me to understand how to set up a user exit with the transaction GCX2, and how to set parameters to make to make a query to a custom table and return a value to trigger the validation.
Or if I'm supposed to use another way to do it.
